It's Good Morning, EveryOne Thing

Dear America,

"Does the end justify the means?"

From the pages of Saul Alinsky's, Rules For Radicals... [aka The Left's playbook]

THAT PERENNIAL QUESTION, 'Does the end justify the means?' is meaningless as it stands; the real and only question regarding the ethics of means and ends is, and always has been, 'Does this particular end justify this particular means?'
Life and how you live it is the story of means and ends.  The end is what you want, and the means is how you get it.  Whenever we think of social change, the question of means and ends arises...[The man of action] He asks of ends only whether they are achievable and worth the cost; of means, only whether they will work.   To say that corrupt means corrupt the ends is to believe in the immaculate conception of ends and principles.  The real arena is corrupt and bloody.  Life is a corrupting process...

so reflecting upon this, upon this day... after such a contentious, dirty, filthy, ugly presidential campaign...what say you?  Does the end justify the means?   Hallelujah and hell yes.

Oh joy to the world.

After President Obama reminded us, early and often, how elections do have consequences [see Immigration by Executive Order, see Obamacare by Hook and by Crook, see Government Regulations wreaking havoc upon business far and wide, see All of the Above Energy promises turn into a downright destruction of oil, gas, and coal, see the world's finest military reduced to dust....and on and on and on] ...isn't this end result a time to savor.

The hidden Trumpeter's across the land secretly held their position tight to the chest right up until the very last minute...speaking directly of the 42% of women who voted for him.....shhshh don't ask don't tell, more tea anyone?

Oh don't be fooled, people; it was crystal clear:  this choice between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump; we just couldn't talk about it!  We had more important things to do between the kids, the dog, or the job.  And while Trump wasn't exactly the kind of guy many of us would want to bring home or share on facebook or dish about over a potluck, he was the means -- decided fair and square through the political primary process -- in hopes of returning law and order to the country and, in the end, beat HER.  Much of that 42% of women had to have held their nose and voted for him anyway...just like me.

[And here's a twist @The Washington Post -- commentary from a liberal Muslim woman who voted for Trump...please read.  Even though she and I differ on many things probably...she understood what a Trump presidency means for the future of the country...amen.]

Oh...to have a candidate fight back against the Democratic machine -- no matter what means necessary, made all the difference in the world.   And to that, from the bottom of my heart, thank you, Donald [now don't screw this up... teehee].

For days now, a big part of me has been sitting on the election result, hesitant to react too soon, pausing before going all nuclear on the hot buttons of the moment at hand.   Given how much this election season has taken out of me -- day in and day out -- living and breathing it for months on end -- please forgive me and my first inclination, resorting to hibernation.  Taking it all in, watching the response from the Left, listening to the pundits pound out what it all means, was something this girl had absolutely no interest in doing.  Just lead me to a bottle of Makers and I'll do just fine...can't Just a Girl just enjoy this for one means to an ends minute?

But how can we -- those sitting just right of center --  sit back and feel centered at a time like this.....

Let's face it -- unlike the Right, which seems to bend over backwards to make nice with the other side -- there is no chance for peaceful co-existence with the Left.  They simply close the door, throw a tantrum, call you names, unfriend you on facebook, or all of the above.

Typical is the response by Maloney at GrubHub (linked above), defying his own code of conduct, as he preaches for tolerance and inclusiveness while calling for anyone who does not agree with his line of thinking to resign!  How absurd is that?  I was one of those who immediately forwarded feedback to GrubHub and said, in short, this girl will never ever use GrubHub ever, as in never.  Ciao.

But looking back over the course of the last week, how bizarre was it to find out Hillary had set up a two-minute fireworks display over New York harbor ON ELECTION NIGHT and between the hour of 9 and 10 p.m. eastern?  Was that just a wee bit premature, or what?  How could she do something like that even before my polls in California even closed?   Seriously, Hillary?  Just who told you that was a good idea?

Booked on Thursday only to cancel it come Monday morning... you just had to know, that they knew, that this thing called winning was suddenly not in the bloomin' Bloomingdales Big Brown Bag.   No new presidential pantsuits for you.

Before election day, President Obama made it clear right up until the bitter end just what was at stake --  saying in a commercial for Hillary,
“All the progress we’ve made these last eight years is on the ballot. Respect for women is on the ballot, tolerance is on the ballot, equality is on the ballot, justice is on the ballot,” Obama says in the ad, which is clipped from an Oct. 11 rally in Greensboro, North Carolina. “If you want to send a message in this election, send a message about who we are as the American people. Send a message by voting for Hillary Clinton,” he continues.
Progress?

Obamacare is not progress, it's the destruction of one-sixth of this nation's economy through the sheer telling and scheming of a lie over and over --- the "Affordable Care Act" is anything but affordable, offers less healthcare choices, and causes the costs to necessarily skyrocket.  Until it returns to a free market commodity to cross state lines, encouraging competition between insurance companies, and offering a wider pool of offerings to the consumer (and patient), it will continue to unravel and disappoint.

Illegal Immigration by Executive Order is not progress. it's abuse of power.

Signing a Nuclear Agreement with Iran is not progress, it's treason.  [And don't get me started on the paying of ransom, previously covered here on the old gthing, of course]

Opening America to unvetted refugees from the Middle East is not progress, it's reckless, creating vulnerabilities in national security.

And taking away the free exercise of one's faith -- is that progress?  Does the end justify the means?  Does the end justify the means, especially in the woefully prohibitive, anti-Christianity, environment within the military, and causing issues of morale and retention?

The thing is --

President Obama's legacy was on the line in this presidential election, and it lost. bigly.

And how awkward was that first meeting....the president-elect Trump with the President?  The picture of the two making the headlines tells it all, doesn't it?  Serious expressions, hands folded, President Obama could hardly look at him during the photo op with the press.  [Go to Guardian, here, to see full story and transcript on the remarks of the day]

It's the passing of the presidential baton from the guy who hasn't built a thing (other than a mess to clean up) to a guy famous for it...building things.  Building many, many things.  Talk about polarizing -- these guys couldn't be any more apart.  I love this part, when Obama said:

...And I have been very encouraged by the, I think, interest in President-elect Trump’s wanting to work with my team around many of the issues that this great country faces, and I believe that it is important for all of us, regardless of party and regardless of political preferences, to now come together, work together, to deal with the many challenges that we face.
Starting with condescension and ending with something of an immaculate ascension,  Obama plays it as if he never accused Trump of aligning with the KKK, or called him unfit, and woefully unprepared for the job...the office of the president of the United States.

But who are we kidding?

We know the Left.

We know how it operates and the rules for radicals playbook it uses freely and un-apologetically, whether proselytizing and organizing communities, whether rioting and protesting, or, whether leading a nation; the book is not only used,  it has been put to memory -- a holy book to facilitate and replicate every means to a leftist dream end.

If my recollection serves me correctly, this girl thought Barack Hussein Obama was woefully unfit for the job, too. [Had plenty of reasons, none of which had to do with the color of his skin...]

But you didn't see me riot in the streets.  No, for eight years this girl had to just suck it up and deal with it...

And notice I didn't call him "unprepared;" oh, he and his handlers, his associates, were prepared, alright.  He was fully prepared to transform America [as he promised fundamental transformation beginning day one].  How could he not be after following the likes of Saul Alinsky,  Frank Marshall Davis,  Charles Ogletree. Reverend Jeremiah Wright... not to mention, dreams of his own father, Obama Sr.  ...and on and on and on.  He done dare transformed the nation and more; he left us divided, polarized,  broken into demographics and totally unfit for assimilating into one united people. Dividing and conquering is no way to lead, Mr. President -- and yet, it was the means to this bitter end YOU CHOSE.  You did this.  This is what you built!

President Obama IS a Radical-In-Chief  -- his so-called legacy in question proves it...in policy, in word and deed throughout the world, in the blatant disregard of our cultural traditions and our individual freedom to exercise one's faith, and in the shameful mockery of America's Rule of Law...

So here's to things being UNDONE...here's to a new end, being fully justified, by whatever means necessary, skyscrapers the limit.  And here's to Obama's sad, sad legacy meeting up with a brand new day in America.

Good Morning, everyone --  all 300 million souls who clearly don't think alike, look alike, or act alike.  And yet, it's beautiful! It's remarkable! It's exceptional!  It's America!

And may God continue to Bless us one and all.

Make it a Good Day, G

It's the After-Birth of an Interview Thing

Dear America,

happy april fool's day...

"Don't let idiots ruin your day."

[full disclosure: my MOTIVATIONAL QUOTES APP, by Monkey Taps, displayed this a couple of days ago...It's a pretty good app; simple.  Some days are better than others, of course, and likewise, little g can relate...tee hee]

And let's see...what was happening a couple days ago?

Oh right.

Chris Matthews was interviewing The Donald, et. al, in a town hall....
he started pelting Trump with questions on his position on abortion, and somehow it wound up with the question being butchered into a hypothetical situation -- based upon if abortion was made illegal, would Trump punish the women?   Matthews was crafty, hand-picking the parts he wanted to keep.

Matthews was like, what? what would you do? what? answer the question...if you are president...  what? this is not something you can dodge...what would you do? should abortion be punished?

Or something like that, anyway.  What can I say -- it's crib notes courtesy of G.

The thing is, they both sounded like idiots.

Go to the full transcript, HERE.

As If.

America may very well continue to argue over the topic of abortions for generations to come; America might just even tweak the law in little itty bitty ways; who really knows.   But make no mistake, America is never going back to a day making abortion illegal.

For that day --  that kind of unconditional value in human life and the making of a family, that kind of character that values sexuality and love in equal portion -- has surely come and gone.  And what a failure in culture it leaves behind in it's absence.

The conversation we should be having is one of raising our standards all the way around the f$%& block.

And not to mention -- given we live in a day when modern medicine gives us extremely inexpensive options on birth control...
But I digress.

The idiots in tandem highlighted two things:

1. Chris Matthews belongs on MSNBC and makes for the perfect specimen in liberal journalism, with all ten toes and a tingle up and down his leg, the way he brings conservatives to their knees and stuttering no, no, da da until they cry uncle must feel like hardball heaven.

2. And for The Donald -- well, this was the initial question that started it all --

QUESTION:  Hello. I am (inaudible) and have a question on, what is your stance on women's rights and their rights to choose in their own reproductive health?

YOU WOULD THINK -- as a presidential candidate -- he would be SO PREPARED for this question....Right?

And yet,
Trump tried to go generally sketchy:

TRUMP:  OK, well look, I mean, as you know, I'm pro-life.  Right, I think you know that, and I -- with exceptions, with the three exceptions.  But pretty much, that's my stance.  Is that OK?  You understand?

Now Trump didn't bother to add what the three exceptions are, nor did he articulate any actual rights women may have, he just popped out what he thought was the most reasonable answer and then crowned it off with something ridiculous...asking the girl that posed the question a demeaning couple of questions back -- "Is that OK? You understand?"

Seriously? How condescending.

But  this is where Matthews chimed in...what should the law be....

yadi yadi yada

TRUMP:  ... this presidential election is going to be very important, because when you say, "what's the law, nobody knows what's the law going to be.  It depends on who gets elected, because somebody is going to appoint conservative judges and somebody is going to appoint liberal judges, depending on who wins.

And we're off to the land where idiots play...

What is that?  What's he saying now?

But it didn't stop.

MATTHEWS:  If you say abortion is a crime or abortion is murder, you have to deal with it under law.  Should abortion be punished?

TRUMP:  Well, people in certain parts of the Republican Party and Conservative Republicans would say, "yes, they should be punished."
yadi yadi yada
MATTHEWS:  Well, no, I'm asking you because you say you want to ban it.  What does that mean?

TRUMP:  I would -- I am against -- I am pro-life, yes.

MATTHEWS:  What is ban -- how do you ban abortion?  How do you actually do it?

TRUMP:  Well, you know, you will go back to a position like they had where people will perhaps go to illegal places.

MATTHEWS:  Yes?

TRUMP:  But you have to ban it.

MATTHEWS:  You banning, they go to somebody who flunked out of medical school.

And it didn't stop there.

It kept coming.
Wave after wave...
and often times coming with sharp pains.
Until finally it was over.

And the result, not the prettiest thing ever seen, but it was real.

Live T.V..

Alive with possibilities; but never once did I hear Trump say he would put a woman in prison, whether ten days or ten years.

One of my favorite parts, and one that gets to the heart of our cultural divide, came packaged in this unsuspecting moment of innocence, bearing it all:

TRUMP:  Your Church [Catholic] is very, very strongly as you know, pro-life.

MATTHEWS:  I know.

TRUMP:  What do you say to your Church?

MATTHEWS:  I say, I accept your moral authority.  In the United States, the people make the decision, the courts rule on what's in the Constitution, and we live by that.  That's why I say.
[as if the Fourteenth Amendment --
settles the argument of the rights of all human life,
including in the womb.
....that's a good one.]
TRUMP:  Yes, but you don't live by it because you don't accept it. You can't accept it.  You can't accept it.  You can't accept it.

Exactly.
But never mind.  We don't have time for that today.

Et tu Matthews was going for a long slow death -- and well after the conception date, too; let's just say, it's way beyond 20 weeks...way.

Beware the ides of March, ringing in the fools of April.

Make it a Good Day, G

It's an Arab Spring, American Style, on the Catwalk Thing

Dear America,

dynamic

cut many things

cut so much your head will spin

nobody --  nobody on this stage that's done more for Israel

he's a liar

liar

liar

i will -- and i can tell you it will be 10 feet taller now

not going to have people dying on the streets

you'll have so many different plans

make America great again

Is this America's next president?  For real?

He says very little; and when he speaks, it comes out with an air of condescension, dribble, a finger pointing, personal attacks, and not a speck of substance.

Greatest line of the night was a tie:

"I watched you repeat
yourself five times just five seconds ago."
Rubio

and

"Can somebody attack me, please?"  Carson

so funny

Now, as soon as Cruz and Rubio figure out which one of them will settle for Vice President, we're golden, send in the crowns (wait. stop.  we don't make kings).

From there, Carson can be put in charge of Department of Health and Human Services, repeal Obamacare, and continue to do community outreach to heal, inspire, revive America from sea to shining sea.

And Trump -- he can start by building the "fucking wall"  and maybe even pay for it --- and when he's done, maybe dabble with commerce...job creation....and in all of his spare time in-between his need to tweet, he can make deals on trade...China...bringing companies and fortunes back to America; choosing to use only his strong suits to reform government, and leave his character flaws, his dirty laundry of adverse loyalties, and his worn out one-liners to explain his weak set of plans to lead an entire administration, in the closet.

And Kasich...well, let's just have him go back home, to Ohio, he does so well there, right.

One thing I DO NOT understand in this Day After the ugly, rather ignoble,  disgraceful affair aired in front of millions, is how The Drudge Report shows Trump having won that debate. It's like, huh?

You kooks have got to be kidding me.

If THAT performance is a win and shades of  GREAT things to come -- then I want NO piece of it, not even the lapel pin.

Trump did not win that debate.... unless of course, you are one of those followers who are simply blinded by the emperor's roar, his tower of babble, fully dazed by now from the shiny things that mesmerize and hypnotize and totally dismiss the things that matter.

This girl just isn't buying it; not seeing it either.

And even though I have said this before, I will say it again -- if push comes to shove, I will close my eyes and vote for Trump....please, Lord, don't make me.

At the very least, you can all be grateful this girl is not piling it on while in cahoots with Glenn Beck, right?

Can you even believe him?
Did you hear his latest?
NO, not that one, the other one...

“There is a storm coming of biblical proportions, a storm coming beyond your recognition,” The Blaze founder warned in a blog post on his personal website. “When the economy collapses, when our currency is worth toilet paper, who do you want, who do you want handling our nation? You want somebody who has divide us, who is grooming Brownshirts?”

having just crossed paths with a few of these "Brownshirts" and was so moved to characterize the Trump supporters as simply, “rude, vile, nasty.”

“I don’t want to say all of them. But there’s enough of them,” he added. “And the ones that I met that were nice, I don’t how you can stand in the same room with them. I don’t know if you look — how do you look at those people and say, ‘Wait a minute. That’s what my guy is encouraging.’”
so that's kinda funny, no?

In one breath he says he doesn't want to say "all of them," but in the next, he connects the dots and sews up the seams in such a way that completes the entire ensemble as one in the same.

Nice job, Glenn, nice job.

Did you happen to discover this displaced anger in the hamper alongside a lost smelly sock and pair of boxers?

This is so disturbing.

And by the way, just who's in charge of your wardrobe these days?  Sure -- it is neither here nor there about town -- but really, what's come over you?   Here's the Roosevelt shot.  And just love the intellectual, bow tied warrior mixing it up with the cowboy home on the range ....here.  One page, same guy, many different hats...
But it's this shift, this not so subtle sign of desperation in being behind YOUR GUY that has me befuddled.  For your approach to beating up and taking down the opposition is by taking the very same approach as the "rude vile nasty' Trump supporters, and even The Donald himself --  and that being, in a word, ridicule.

Makes me think that everybody's designer must be the same...

...oh darling, it's an Alinsky.

[Rules for Radicals, see Tactics, see also the Thirteenth Rule]

But of course.

Now isn't that rich and aren't we a pair.

Beck Beck Beck Beck Beck
Let's pull it together, man.

The only reason why we are here now is because the GOP in Congress did not do what they were asked to do by the voters!  They kissed the ass of the king -- over and over and over again -- bending over to every whim and fancy --  and so this is what we get.

THE PEOPLE HAVE NOT ONLY HAD ENOUGH, they are desperate for a change, leaving wide open the very conditions for another con against America to take place.

But the thing is -- the thing that is truly vile  -- is the lack of duty, to God and to country, run amuck within the walls of Congress.  The people elected a body of representatives to control the Obama Administration, to restrain the abuse of power, to repeal the abomination of Obamacare, and for all intents and purposes, redress the nation.   And what did we get for our money?

There was no restraint.

There was no reform.

There was no redress.

The irony, Glenn, is in the fact that both Cruz (your guy) and Rubio were well aware of all of this angst within the party.  Oh sure, they both left a mark -- but what a calamity of errors, design, and approach; it wasn't a good thing.  And therein lies the rub, rayon against polyester; nobody associated, or even remotely associated, with the establishment could make the grade.

The thing is,
it's too late.

It's all too late; spring has sprung and the new line is fresh for the taking.

Americans can't seem to get enough of it.  They don't even care what it costs.

Blame it on the emptiness inside -- the shallow, the weak, the disenfranchised, the spiritually broken, the unemployed,  the pissed, have come together to stand in line, "Brownshirts" and all; give credit to the Want of Winning over substance, as the hole was simply there.  It needed to be filled with something.

We can thank this hopeless hollow... this short-sighted desperate nature of desire to look good, feel good, and display greatness, at any cost, to an overwhelming decline in general.  As a culture, we are lost -- growing more and more insignificant around the world, having systematically diminished the importance of the pillars of character and substance over the latest fad, trends, memes, facebook posts, immediate gratification, opinions of millennial billionaires, ping ping ping...

Individually and collectively -- acts of diplomacy, large and small, don't stand a chance.

Trump may have the capacity to win in New York City, and even win the nomination for the GOP -- but then what?  His label will immediately be trashed from the left, from the media, for the opposition just waiting in the wings, crossing their fingers for the chance to have at it on the easy pickings...send in the critics.

What we are witnessing, really, is our own little Arab Spring, American Style, on the catwalk.  [think about it]

And it's UGLY.  Violating to the senses.  We are so depraved.

Having destroyed our true identity, having reduced the natural born wide appeal of generations to come for all the right reasons, we have done nothing more than cheapen the brand in every possible way known to man and back again.  Fashions repeat, don't you know.

Wake up Kmart shoppers, it's a blue light special...America is up for grabs.

Make it a good day, G
 Epiblog

you know, a long, long time ago -- little g was campaigning for a Trump/Christie ticket.
Granted, it was circa 2011, if my mind serves me well -- but now, having grown into myself just a wee bit since, it makes me cringe just thinking about it.  Makes me also wonder what else messed with my good senses...tee hee.   But times change, right.

But just maybe I was ahead of my own time -- sprung for a season too soon...

Which should make us all wonder..........is this a sign of next season's vibe.....would he take him under his west wing as VP?   stay tuned...time will tell.

It's All Pageantry Thing

Dear America,

you know what...
people need to stop and pay attention to The Donald -- and mind you, not in a good way.

As much as many of Americans find his grandiose ideas on immigration and 'making America great again' awfully refreshing, let me assure you -- he is Trouble with a capital T.

Want to know what a President Trump might do?

Anything he wants -- come hook or by crook, come boot or by loot, come the light of day or the cover of night.

Whether progressive left or progressive right, don't fool yourselves -- it's all bad.

So in the latest news, Trump tells Fox News ".@FoxNews has been treating me very unfairly & I have therefore decided that I won't be doing any more Fox shows for the foreseeable future,"
[thank you, Politico]

awww

waaaah

little old donny booboo cries boohoo and throws a tantrum

And Fox replied:

"At 11:45am today, we canceled Donald Trump’s scheduled appearance on The O’Reilly Factor on Thursday, which resulted in Mr. Trump’s subsequent tweet about his ‘boycott’ of FOX News," the statement reads. "The press predictably jumped to cover his tweet, creating yet another distraction from any real issues that Mr. Trump might be questioned about. When coverage doesn’t go his way, he engages in personal attacks on our anchors and hosts, which has grown stale and tiresome. He doesn’t seem to grasp that candidates telling journalists what to ask is not how the media works in this country.”[again, thank you, Politico]

"When coverage doesn't go his way"....look out.

Let's review:

What happened when NBC cancelled ties with The Donald over his derogatory, yet completely honest, aired opinion about illegal immigrants crossing the border, and thereby ceasing all relations with him and even deciding not to air the Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants, as well as, replacing The Donald in the reality show, The Apprentice?    Well the Trump party threatened to sue everybody, including Univision, and ending up buying the rights to the Miss Universe organization and all of it's pageantry, entirely.

Tweeting: "Just purchased NBC’s half of The Miss Universe Organization and settled all lawsuits against them. Now own 100% -- stay tuned!"

[AND THEN HE SOLD IT within about a week!]

Do you remember what The Donald asked of CNN just a few weeks before the presidential debate?

"While I refuse to brag, and as you know very well, this tremendous increase in viewer interest and advertising is due 100% to 'Donald J. Trump,'" Trump wrote."I believe that all profits from this broadcast should go to various VETERANS groups, a list of which I will send to you in the near future,"

Nice thought, but really now, telling a company what to do with it's own profits?

And here's a good one:

"I won't take even one dollar. I'm totally giving up my salary if I become president." it's awfully nice, but...

CEO's ....look out:

“It does bug me," Trump said. "It’s very hard if you have a free enterprise system to do anything about that. You know, the boards of companies are supposed to do it, but I know companies very well and the CEO puts in all of his friends...”“You see these guys making these enormous amounts of money, and it’s a total and complete joke,” Trump said....…"We’re going to be reducing taxes for the middle class. But for the hedge fund guys, they’re going to be paying up,”

"It's very hard if you have a free enterprise system to do anything about that"....he says, but when I'm president.....never mind how I profited all through the years...I will fix that.

'Redistribution of Wealth, come to papa,' he might as very well say in his next noxious breath.

The thing is,

America has fallen in love with another hope and change hoax.

Trump is a shyster, just as Barack Hussein Obama is a shyster.

Trump is a manipulator, just as Barack Hussein Obama is a manipulator.

Trump is an American deviant, just as Barack Hussein Obama is an American deviant. [aww, am i being too harsh.....really?  truth bites, doesn't it]

Trump is a user, a pusher, a player, a preacher, a con....yes, just as Barack Hussein Obama is a User, a Pusher, a Player, a Preacher, a Con.

And we are all in Trouble with a Capital T if we continue to be lulled, and mocked, and nudged, and led to believe this Trump guy is anything else but.  His intentions are not pure; he is not fit whether he comes free or scot-free...it's all pageantry.

Stop the nonsense people; stop following along --  or, to put into words more amenable to the prevailing mindset -- move on dot org.

Make it a Good Day, G

It's a Flighty Fight That Keeps on Giving Thing

Dear America,

welcome back,
welcome back to the continuing saga, of the ever enlightening, ever changing, Diary of a Flighty Whitey American Girl.  It may not be in the "every day" per se, or by definition, but when I do...you know...show up --- it comes to you with a certain discriminating flare,  in multiple languages....English (duh), Sarcasm, Cliche, and my personal favorite -- however sparingly -- Profanity.  It's all about current events meeting up with the twists and turns and tumult inside the mind of me -- G.

Your welcome.

And today, once again, as I gaze upon the political horizon of yet another election cycle in America -- this thing called Trump is whipping up some kind of fury; the opposition, with the Republican establishment surely included, continues to get it's little fanny handed to it, smacked down with no apologies, as The Donald keeps on giving.

For another possible explanation, let's hurry over to The Daily Bell, Nelson Hultberg, in a post from just this morning:

Why? Because Trump represents something untamed and untamable. He represents an outsider who refuses to play the game of "politics as usual" that the good ol' boys have been playing throughout the past 80 years. What the establishment fears about Trump is that he doesn't need to play the role of sycophant to their corporate-banking-bureaucratic combine that rules America. -    (or for that matter, to Univision's Jorge Ramos, either -- to which I say, 'WHATEVER'  LA Times...)
See more, at The Daily Bell, here.

Ramos didn't come into the presser like everybody else -- he spoke out of turn, crossing a border and out of line.  Boom, Get out, you community organizer/activist  masquerading as a journalist/antagonist.  You have a right to ask a question when you are called upon, so sit down and wait your turn.

Now do you get it?
Now do you see why I started with calling myself FLIGHTY right from the get go?

I'm for him before I was against and now finding myself for him all over again.  Stop the insanity.

But now, back to Hultberg's bullet point bucket list on Immigration, crafted from the intentions of a Trump Administration....

It Starts with this:
1. Build a wall and make Mexico pay for it. Until they do, the U.S. will impound all remittance payments derived from illegal wages, increase fees on millions of Mexican visas, and if necessary enact tariffs on all Mexican imports.

And Ends with this:

8. Mandatory return of all criminal aliens to their home countries.

But now, you will just have to visit The Daily Bell for 2 through 7.

And now -- about those ANCHOR BABIES.

Let's scurry over to Ann Coulter.  Having written an entire book about the subject of ILLEGAL Immigration and all of it's absurdities, I find her commentary exceptional, witty, and thoroughly researched, bar none.

While if ever there was a need for a good explanation of the 14th Amendment and it's intentions-- mind you, of a post- CIVIL WAR America of the late 1800's! -- the need is NOW.

Here she is  --  the one, the only, Ann Coulter:

In response to O'Reilly's statement that "there is no question the Supreme Court decisions have upheld that portion of the 14th Amendment that says any person, any person born in the U.S.A. is entitled to citizenship ... for 150 years" -- Yoo concurred, claiming: "This has been the rule in American history since the founding of the republic."

Yes, Americans fought at Valley Forge to ensure that any illegal alien who breaks into our country and drops a baby would have full citizenship for that child! Why, when Washington crossed the Delaware, he actually was taking Lupe, a Mexican illegal, to a birthing center in Trenton, N.J.
Going back to how I began the day -- commenting upon my own flightiness -- Coulter is another one who sends me swirling in between a love her, love her not, love her, love her not soap opera of my own making.  Vigilance is such a daily curse, isn't it?  But no matter where you fall on Coulter, just gotta give her props for her consummate, unmitigated sarcasm used to perfection every time.

Needless to say,  CONTEXT and CRITICAL THINKING is becoming a lost art in America, kid you not.

Flighty is as flighty does, let's get on with it, shall we........

How did America get here?

yeah,

sit down,

That was rhetorical all the way.

The thing is, it may come down to just this -- the unimaginable loss of an educated electorate to crafty corruption left and right.

The educated electorate is being undermined by a massive, organic, regenerating flow of illiterate,  uneducated, sorry lot, creating the ever expanding demographic of Americans fully dependent upon the welfare state to save them -- alongside the unconscionable, crony capitalist takeover of our elected body of "Public Servants," perverted and impaired by a penchant for corruption under the guise of social justice and equality and political correctness, masterminding a course correction for all the "imbalances"  of "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness."   It's all a progressive ruse for the ages.

"Adios America"

Thank you, Ann.

This is what's wrong with America today, the contrasts of mindsets among us -- of intellect, ambition, enlightenment, of a certain  pioneering spirit and self-reliance of the America, and specifically of the Americans,  intended -- and made real by law by our Declaration of Independence and Constitution!

Let's us return to Alexis de Tocueville, tying in remarks of a time gone by:

At the extreme borders of the confederated states, upon the confines of society and wilderness, a population of bold adventurers have taken up their abode, who pierce the solitudes of the American woods....As soon as the pioneer reaches the place which is to serve him for retreat, he fells a  few trees and builds a log house.  Nothing can offer a more miserable aspect than these isolated dwellings....Yet no sort of comparison can be drawn between the pioneer and the dwelling that shelters him.  Everything about him is primitive and wild, but he is himself the result of the labor and experience of eighteen centuries.  He wears the dress and speaks the language of cities; he is acquainted with the past, curious about the future, and ready for argument about the present; he is, in short, a highly civilized being, who penetrates into the wilds of the New World with the Bible, an axe, and some newspapers.  It is difficult to imagine the incredible rapidity with which thought circulates in the midst of these deserts[wilderness].   I do not think that so much intellectual activity exists  in the most enlightened and populous districts of France.  [The 5,000 Year Leap, pg, 253]

And yet, here we are.

Arguing on behalf of the real intentions of the 14th Amendment, written and clarified by numerous cases, as articulated in Coulter's post, summarizing for us in neat, sweet, little nuggets dripping in dulce de leche --

-- Supreme Court opinion in Elk v. Wilkins (1884):

"The main object of the opening sentence of the 14th Amendment was ... to put it beyond doubt that all persons, white or black, and whether formerly slaves or not, born or naturalized in the United States, and owing no allegiance to any alien power, should be citizens of the United States ... The evident meaning of (the words, "and subject to the jurisdiction thereof") is, not merely subject in some respect or degree to the jurisdiction of the United States, but completely subject to their political jurisdiction, and owing them direct and immediate allegiance. ... Persons not thus subject to the jurisdiction of the United States at the time of birth cannot become so afterward, except by being naturalized ...
Here we are, America.

So --

One candidate really wants to "build a wall and make Mexico pay for it."

One candidate really wants the "mandatory return of all criminal aliens."

One candidate really wants to protect America's sovereignty and make America great again.

Now, there just may be a few things to roll our eyes upon -- even laced with a little attitude con diablo --  but what's not to love?  And just why is the GOP gaming to escort the guy out of the room?

Sure -- one day we love him, the next day we don't; one day he's presidential, the next day he's not.

This campaign process is a flight of fancy, in a fight or flight kind of way but make no mistake -- America loves this stuff!  Debate is great!   Vigilance is a duty!    Critical thinking, with full context in mind, absolute and required!  This is the stuff Constitutions are written -- and written well!   This is the stuff nations are made or ruined!

Back to Coulter:

But it is a fact that the citizenship of illegal alien kids has never been argued, briefed or ruled on by the Supreme Court. [italicized in bold of my own unruly doing]
Perhaps, given the year 2015, a wee bit of clarification is needed.

But I think --  and speaking for all of us now --  I think we know the truth.

We know that back in 18...whatever...a fourteenth amendment was written for the "African-Americans"  -- formerly known as Negroes, blacks, and at one time in American history,  slaves, and even the children of slaves.   Come the year 2015,  illegal and pregnant South American and Mexican women --  choosing to not only have their baby!  yay! but break American Immigration Law -- crossing America's southern border and giving birth to their pequeño bebé had nothing to do with it.  The 14th Amendment was written for a different time and place (and how!).

It's a fact worthy to mitigate at any time, yet know this:  the facts support American sovereignty and a border that means something.
So ¡siéntese por favor! [Do sit down, please]
OR better still,
ponerse a la cola [get in line].

Oooh look at the time, gotta go.
Adios,
and until we meet again, adieu.

It's the Dust Bowl Revisited Thing

Dear America,

and then again...
a word from Aristotle:

"Even the best of men
in authority
are liable to be corrupted
 by passion.
We may conclude then
that the law is reason
without passion,
and it is therefore preferable
 to any individual."

And thus -- given what the ages have taught us about mother nature and the faults of humanity -- becoming the very reason America was set up, and fully intended to grow and prosper, under a Rule of Law and NOT men.  Because MEN (aka mankind) can be stupid.

Now yesterday, I finished the day commenting on the awareness that Trump was "growing on me."

But it's funny, for today I have returned to not so much.

What is he thinking?
What in tar-nation is this pompous, arrogant, bloviating, presidential wanna-be doing?

Just bullying Megyn into submission now, is that his tactic?  Sounds like an Alinsky rule to me; and I don't like it.

Picking on her through twitter like he is in 7th grade?  Seriously?

After endearingly calling him just a boy yesterday, given another context in mind  -- I take it all  back today.

There is no reason for this whatsoever.

After all of the debate dust-up was finally settled down....it's the dust bowl revisited!

THIS IS NOT presidential, Donald!   Knock it off!

A quote from yesterday, revisited:

Donald Trump is the prototypical, archetypal and testosterone-driven alpha male who rules by the sheer force of his personality, imposing physique, quick wit, mastery of repartee and almost hypnotic control over his gathering masses of adoring followers. He is Attila to the Huns, Henry V to the outnumbered English army, Winston Churchill to desperate allied forces, and now our fearless leader against the pagan forces of progressivism and political correctness. He is the unapologetic, quintessential warrior male of yore capable of vanquishing any and all opposition in his way.
There is no need for "Attila" to come out against Megyn Kelly; just put that warrior to better use...Use "Attila" to rail against the Obama Administration's causing great damage against our healthcare system, the job market, our relationships with our allies; use "Attila" to confront the illegal immigration and this administration's use of Executive Order to usurp Immigration Law; use "Attila" to explain exactly how a Trump Administration would change the IRS, the Energy Department, the Department of Education, the Department of Justice.   But make no mistake, using "Attila" as a warrior force against Megyn Kelly will get you nowhere and will fully diminish any respect you may well deserve in your hopes of Making America Great Again.

So here's my parting shot before I go -- and it's mostly directed to The Donald, but if the Cole Haan fits:

Grow Up.
And may your life
someday be as awesome
as you pretend it is
on social media.

huh.
now how cathartic is that?
I feel better.

It's a Day Angling to Tame a Tempestuous Summer Thing

Dear America,

dear dear america...

the summer recess, the tempest
...who knew?

Over the last few months -- beginning at the barbecue and ending with the first day of school (today! YAY!)  -- we've had a ruckus, riotous republican debate, a tenacious Trump Takeover of the conversation (all of them), a thoroughly corrupted, and catastrophically crumbling,  of the Clinton campaign -- complete with viable contenders just waiting for the nod (Biden/Warren), and now a stock market -- in free fall.

good times, eh?

Personally, my summer was all over the place.

My days were a lost cause and perpetually one glass of one from telling everyone what I really think ----- given up to a heavier work schedule, my girl home and never home all at the same time (ugh yeah, you figure it out...so tired), with no time to write, no time to myself, no space to percolate and opine on the thoughts of the day, all I could do was listen to my mind rattle, non-stop.  And boy, it was noisy.

Having said that, little old gthang was lucky enough to get a mini-vacation in Disneyland.  Truth be told, it was awfully hard to return.   I wanted to stay.  Perhaps forever.   Perhaps hiding out on Tom Sawyer's island, or better still, the Swiss Family Robinson tree house!  Frontier land take me away!

Which reminds me --

One of my favorite childhood memories was an evening in the Going Family station-wagon (circa 1972), overflowing with popcorn and giggles at the drive-in, and falling in love with the big screen while cultivating the itty bitty imagination just under the surface, and just beginning to settle in under the blankets and starlight, leaving imprints large and small for a lifetime of inspiration and budding ambitions.   Easily, my dream of living in a tree house was doable --  and upon my own private island even better; the family Swiss told me so and in no uncertain terms.

Wait a minute...

perhaps we need a refresher of some thoughts long, long ago.

THE GIVING TREE day, one of my best days, if I don't say so myself.  (And I did.)

America, the ever evocative Giving Tree -- inspires dreams far and wide.

And speaking of immigration --   Constitution, be damned; is that our final answer?  No.

How ironic -- this thing called a border -- but otherwise fully recognized, in a slimy, suspect, politically correct, raising baby-leftists kind of way, a sordid port of entry, come one, come all.   This border -- unnaturally becoming world renowned as a porous, lawless, senseless 2000 miles of imaginary lines, thereby allowing for unconscionable acts against the sovereignty of a nation that once prided itself upon the Rule of Law in which it supposedly stands.

Hold UP
Here's some BREAKING NEWS FROM THE BORDER (and considering my homestead being only a cool 45 minute coastal drive south to Mexico -- the San Ysidro border town is local news to me):

Courtesy of NPR, just August 20, 2015:

As of Wednesday, foreign pedestrians crossing into Mexico between San Diego and Tijuana are required to present a passport, fill out paperwork and, if they are staying for longer than one week, pay a 330-peso fee (about $20).

Oh really?

Hilarious, isn't it?

Carlos de la Fuente is quoted as saying:

"The way that people enter Mexico has been growing very disorganized, and now we are making it organized, that's the big difference."

Are we laughing, or what?

And yet, here's some fine print for you --    although this new law is great and is designed to coincide with the Mexican Law, it has it's limitations; it only applies to pedestrians; if you drive across the border, no questions, no paperwork, no fuss.

But let's not get lost in the details, shall we...

The thing is, how difficult would it be just to duplicate Mexican Law at this point?   What difference at this point does it make?  Whether following our own Immigration law, our Constitution, or Mexican Law --- let's just ask for all people crossing the border into America to physically stand in line and show a passport like everybody else.  The wait alone should curb many from even trying.

Oh wait.  Right.  We have a line.

Lines, spines, America has keines...none, zilch, nada, nil... (Und das ist alles nicht gut.   Exactly;  and what else would you expect from just a girl, her name is Gretchen?)

"[G]rowing very disorganized" he says.

Would just love to hear how would he characterize the free style border crossing going the other way? A Godsend?  perhaps...

Perhaps this is the money tree for which they come?   (Thank you Judicial Watch, data circa 2011)

Now, realizing I am swinging from branch to branch without the full capacity or energy to detail all that needs to be said (after all it is my first day back...), allow me to tie in just one more thing before I go;  let me just add this -- The Donald is growing on me.

So for your final read today,  here's a great article that might come close to explaining the phenomenon that is the tempest-in-campaign-mode who might just be the next American president...From WND, Kent G. Bailey Ph.D.:

Donald Trump is the prototypical, archetypal and testosterone-driven alpha male who rules by the sheer force of his personality, imposing physique, quick wit, mastery of repartee and almost hypnotic control over his gathering masses of adoring followers. He is Attila to the Huns, Henry V to the outnumbered English army, Winston Churchill to desperate allied forces, and now our fearless leader against the pagan forces of progressivism and political correctness. He is the unapologetic, quintessential warrior male of yore capable of vanquishing any and all opposition in his way.

And underneath it all,  just a boy with big dreams and a wild imagination and the ambition to climb the tree all the way to the top.  He must have seen the movie, Swiss Family Robinson, too.

Make it a Good Day, G
