It's a Box of Chocolate Covered Glitches Thing

Dear America,

I've been on life support, if only in my own mind.

If not for the timely receipt of a care package, now nearly twelve hours ago, who knows what would have happened to me.  It was a big fat box of See's Bordeaux candies!  Within a minute under our roof, two were immediately engulfed, never to see the light of day again --  and just before dinner, no less.  What a twilight delight.

Don't tell mom, mm mm good.

If all goes well, my girl and I will be stuffing our faces with each and every velvety, butterscotchy, chocolate jimmie encrusted morsel for the next twelve hours, if it even lasts that long.  So happy.  So thankful.   So love you MDC.

But enough of the sugar coating over reality, let's get a quick sugar rush from Winston Churchill:

"Socialism is a philosophy
of failure
with the creed of ignorance,
and the gospel of envy.
It's inherent virtue
is the equal sharing
of misery."

But perhaps -- now that I'm thinking about it -- let's delay the equal sharing of misery for a matter of six weeks, or so.

See this sweet tweet:

"BREAKING: NBC News has learned the WH intends to delay the deadline requiring every American to buy health insurance by as much as 6 weeks"

So now, let's review -- it was precisely this "INDIVIDUAL MANDATE"  (the very thing that shores up the costs of the atrocity that is Obamacare)  deemed non-negotiable by the president just a couple weeks ago, and now he wants it delayed?

Are you kidding me?  Seriously?  Really?   I mean, are you kidding me?

After vilifying the opposition for demonstrating how Obamacare will ruin the economy and thereby selectively using it as leverage before the government shutdown -- the White House unilaterally decides the fate of it's main legislative mandate, however short lived that it is.  Oh, and making such revisions on the fly outside of the law, adding to the list of at least nineteen or twenty by now.

This news, coming on the eve of planned congressional hearings, intent on grilling the contractors responsible for the healthcare.gov website; surely, bureaucratic bombshells are dropping as we speak.

One billion dollars later, while allowing seedy democrats like this one get away with saying the most vile things against the rebels with a good cause, the tea partiers.

[Wow.  One billion dollars and we haven't even paid for band-aides yet.]

How about we just send everyone a fifty-pound box of See's candy and call it a day; we can just stuff ourselves silly and die, right Grayson?

Let's go to the second page of  Rules for Radicals, for further, deeper, richer, darker, mind blowing insight:

"Let them call me rebel and welcome, I feel no concern from it; but I should suffer the misery of devils, were I to make a whore of my soul..."  --   Thomas Paine

"Lest we forget at least an over-the-shoulder acknowledgement to the very first radical: from all our legends, mythology, and history (and who is to know where mythology leaves off and history begins -- or which is which), the first radical known to man who rebelled against the establishment and did it so effectively that he at least won his own kingdom -- Lucifer."  --  Saul Alinsky

This is how he thinks...this thing called Saul, mentor to an American president.   A quick scroll up the page tells us even more:
"Where there are no men, be thou a man."  -- Rabbi Hillel

Was not Ted Cruz the real man, brave enough to stand up to an establishment bigger than life itself?

True rebels on the side of good were made of this..."I should suffer the misery of devils, were I to make a whore of my soul."

We make light of the Rahm Emmanuel rationale, of never letting a crisis go to waste; when in fact, it is the crisis where the progressive lives and even revels in;  making achieving chaos -- virtuous, masterminding crisis -- a many splendored thing, organizing the reform and fix when nothing was really broken in the first place.  In chaos, they win. In chaos, the organization remains active and sustained.

About midstream within what's become the infamous progressive bible, Alinsky explains in simple terms the innards of an organization:

"The organization is born out of the issues and the issues are born out of the organization.  They go together, they are concomitants essential to each other...

Organizations must be based on many issues.  Organizations need action as an individual needs oxygen.  the cessation of action brings death to the organization through factionalism and inaction, through dialogues and conferences that are actually a form of rigor mortis rather than life.   It is impossible to maintain constant action on a single issue.   A single issue is a fatal strait jacket that will stifle the life of an organization.    Furthermore, a single issue drastically limits your appeal, where multiple issues would draw in the many potential members essential to the building of a broad, mass-based organization."

Why do you think in the midst of the Obamacare debacle, in the unceasing onslaught of European leaders coming totally unglued by the NSA spying, in the wake of nearly the entire Middle East simultaneously waking up to a level of distrust of the United States unlike any other time in history, this president is now seeking immigration reform...

Let's pile it on, right?

Earth to the ooey gooey far left of center, from the WashPost:

"What should worry the Obama administration is that Saudi concern about U.S. policy in the Middle East is shared by the four other traditional U.S. allies in the region: Egypt, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates and Israel. They argue (mostly privately) that Obama has shredded U.S. influence by dumping President Hosni Mubarak in Egypt, backing the Muslim Brotherhood’s Mohamed Morsi, opposing the coup that toppled Morsi, vacillating in its Syria policy, and now embarking on negotiations with Iran — all without consulting close Arab allies."

This... from the administration who came  in with an apology tour and every good  intention  to "fix" relations after number 43.

Perhaps the fix is in...and it's Bushie's fault, too.

But number 44 isn't all that worried.

More issues the better; it's simply mixing the nuts with the creams.

But scrolling back to the sweet tweet that started it all, The Daily Caller reminds us of a stark truth:

"This would be a substantial reversal for the administration, which has fought all attempts by congressional Republicans to spare Americans from the mandate requiring all citizens to purchase health insurance or face a stiff penalty. Earlier this month, Obama allowed a partial government shutdown to go forward rather than compromise with Republicans on the penalty."

exactly.
There is a method to this madness, the reality of which sends us truth seekers and soul searchers into a diabetic seizure with or without sugar added, never mind a box of Bordeaux.

The design of America's massive failure all the way around is here, like a box of chocolate covered glitches, and lies, and deceit, set up to transform not only our minds, our soul, but fundamentally every living, breathing thing worthy of life itself.   And it could  kill us.

All 300 million of us are on life support, whether you choose to see it that way, or not.

But hey, have a nice day.

Make it a Good Day, G

It's as the World Turns Under a Continuing Resolution Thing...to be continued

Dear America,

so as the way things continue to roll, trapped under a multitude of mind-numbing atrocities against the Republic, unimaginably impotent of our founding principles, and frozen in time -- stymied by a history that keeps repeating itself of the worst possible kind....that being, self-inflicted, of course  -- welcome to a new day, second verse same as the first.  Welcome to the new America, where the way of bad governing runs by Continuing Resolution.

And BTW, the world seems not to pleased.

To post @French24:
"The fundamental situation that the debt growth rate significantly outpaces that of fiscal income and gross domestic product remains unchanged," Dagong said in the statement, adding Washington's solvency was vulnerable as old debts were still repaid through raising new debts.

"Hence the government is still approaching the verge of default crisis, a situation that cannot be substantially alleviated in the foreseeable future," it said.
[And adjusting America's credit rating from A to A-]

And via The Telegraph, getting immediate response from Christine Lagarde:

Christine Lagarde, IMF managing director, welcomed the deal but said the shaky American economy needs more stable long-term finances. The deal only permits the Treasury to borrow normally through Feb. 7 and fund the government through Jan. 15.

"It will be essential to reduce uncertainty surrounding the conduct of fiscal policy by raising the debt limit in a more durable manner," Lagarde said in a statement.

Oh and what did the market do this morning, after days of pundits claiming the sky is falling, the market will tank if we don't do this...it still dropped upon morning light.

From head of Fed, Dallas, Richard Fisher, via NBC:

"Kicking the can down the road for a few months will not solve the pathology of fiscal misfeasance that undermines our economy and threatens our future," Fisher said.

Oh and you know the best part?

Apparently, following the way of the eleventh hour passing of the Obamacare legislation,  the new way of governing includes a common core rule of thumb: we have to pass the piece of crap to find out what's in it.

See windfall Kentucky, hereTHREE BILLION????
See windfall to millionaires, here.
See total overhaul on "the Debt Limit" rules, here.  [And a great big thank you goes to HuffPost for the nice, clean copy of the text.  Simply beautiful.  But let me be clear -- it's a beautiful copy, not text.]  But speaking of which.......

Let's go to the clean CR.

Really?

Seriously?

THIS is a clean CR?

Just gotta love what is titled, "Division B -- Other Matters."

It begins making changes to what?

That's right.   Obamacare.

Huh?
But what else is new, considering the seventeen changes already unilaterally admitted by executive office domination and control, right?

While the second half of "Division B -- Other Matters" includes a carefully maneuvered slight of hand, masterfully procured by the art of political folly meeting up with the nanny state.  Hello.

In this section -- referred to as the  "Default Prevention of 2013" act -- bureaucrats gain the upper hand, to save themselves from ever having to argue on behalf of fiscal solvency again.

If they can't find the muscle NOT to raise the debt ceiling, how in the world can we expect them to find the will to deny it when the time comes?  There is no debt ceiling anymore -- and it will take a massive 2/3 majority vote to get it back.  And even then, the president can override by veto.

Let's circle back to the Chinese view:  "The fundamental situation that the debt growth rate significantly outpaces that of fiscal income and gross domestic product remains unchanged."

We need to think long term; not short term, with a government merely funded until January 15....And the Treasury can only borrow through February 7th?  That's a good one....

And Fisher:  "Kicking the can down the road for a few months will not solve the pathology of fiscal misfeasance that undermines our economy and threatens our future."

We haven't solved anything.

We haven't corrected the assault on freedom by virtue of Obamacare.

We haven't reconciled the ongoing, fundamental fissures and schisms within the conservative message and voice.

We haven't educated the general public to the whole truth -- by virtue of the leftist media machine, the political vitriol foaming from the mouths of Obama and his minions, and sadly, with great assistance, self-inflicted by the incomprehensible, inability to articulate the conservative message in unison from the right.  But the truth is:

We can't keep
kicking
the can
down
the
road

I mean, come on!  we haven't operated from a real budget in years!  -- managing  to keep afloat only by CR, and only after mind-blowing political brinkmanship, is no way to run a government.   Not to mention, when we bring in over 200 billion/month, and the interest on our debt is 10% of that, the only reason this nation would ever default would be if our leader made it so.

And about that "pathology of fiscal misfeasance"... the one that undermines the fundamentals...how about the republicans begin a dialogue on that starting today.   Start by declaring NOT your happiness in the so-called "bi-partisan" CR, adulterated with pork, special perks and allowances and exemptions, and the unseemly propping up of a propagandist-in-chief. [McConnell should resign; Boehner should be replaced as Speaker, until such time he loses re-election.]

A clean CR, my fair ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, we've been duped (again).   And just how in the world could the republicans sit back and take it like the bad medicine it is, part and parcel of Obamacare itself?  Perhaps they need shipments of Muscle Milk sent to them en masse...maybe then they might get it.

Extortionist-in-Chief.

He said he would not negotiate and he meant it.  Sure, we get that, Mr. President.

And still, he speaks today of "the shutdown and the threat of shutdown...and the threat of default...the self-inflicted crisis that set our economy back.... there was no [there, there] economic rationale for all of this...who claim their actions were needed to get the country on the right track"  as if he had no hand in any of it whatsoever, the spectacle that it was.

Only You, Mr. President, threatened default.  Only you, shut down the government, picking and choosing what stays and what goes.   And only YOU, Mr. President, used it as a means to extort capitulation of the opposition.  How can we go from everything being Bushie's fault, to nothing being his fault (BO's), and back to Bushie's fault?  But more important, do you not understand the direct correlation of good leadership with where the Buck stops?  You act like you had nothing to do with this...spectacle.

Is this CR your idea of a clean CR -- in the same spirit as ....  "Let the bill go to the floor and lets see what happens. Just vote. Let every member of Congress vote their conscience and they can determine whether or not they want to shut the government down...My suspicion is, my very strong suspicion is, there are enough votes there, and the reason Speaker Boehner hasn't called a vote on it is because he doesn't apparently want to see the government shutdown end at the moment unless he's able to extract concessions that don't have anything to do with budget."

The thing is, upon morning light, looks like McConnell gets 3 billion dollars, while the president gets everything he wants and more.  The rest of us...well, we get to witness the spectacle that is bad government continuing.  A continuing resolution makes it so.   And it's to be continued.

Make it a Good Day, G

It's Hello 18 Trillion Dollars in Debt, give or take, then take some more, even taking what doesn't belong to you, Thing

Dear America,

Due to unforeseen cataclysmic conditions, this blog is on shutdown until a deal can be reached between parties  (it's a close call between a civilized tea party, pity party, and the ever so popular -- over-the-hill/out to pasture/pass the moonshine party); don't fret though -- once little old G thing can decide what to wear it will be all over.  But until then, ponder this...

Just how does it feel --
to go from 17 Trillion in debt yesterday...

to $17.986 Trillion, sans entitlements and unfunded liabilities, today?  To the bean counters in the back row, can we get a quick interest tabulation on that, please?

Oh yes, there is plenty more to say,
but it will have to wait until a better day.

Make it a Good Day, G

It's Extraordinary, Extortionary Times Thing

Dear America,

In brief, let's get linked to a post @ The Heritage Foundation, from Andrew Kloster:, and skip to my Lew to the end:

"...the President has broad authority to manage government payments to avoid defaulting on federal obligations. He can choose which payments to make and in which order, and these choices will impact the effects on the average U.S. taxpayer and the economy."

Okeydokey? And thank you, Andrew, for breaking down the debt limit -- and the payment on the debt -- to an elementary level translation.  Don't be a low-information voter and ignore the easy read...

Oh, and according to Moody's, President Obama can stop threatening a credit rating doom and gloom scenario:

"At this time we don't see that (rating cut) as a consequence of these short-term events," said Steven Hess, Moody's lead U.S. sovereign credit analyst.

"The rating is based more on the long-term outlook for the debt, rather than what we think will be short-term events."

Indeed.  Matter of fact, I would be willing to bet Moody's would really like to see the United States gain some control over our debt, reform entitlements, stop allocating hard earned tax payer money to things we can no longer afford, and be smart with our money.  But I digress.

Now, moving on.

Currently, little old gthang is running a wee bit scared; sitting here, wondering, shaking in my jammies, what in the world is he going to do later on today (and quite possibly before I get to the end of this post)?

Speaking of the Speaker, of course --- who is set to meet up with the president, offering an interim pacifier on the 17 trillion dollar debt limit and the tantrum throwing 44th president of the United States, who's fiscal trajectory is set to double the National Debt over his two terms of "service" to the American people. [yeah, right, raising the debt ceiling won't raise the debt so much as a dime...oh okay]

Along came a spider...and I just want to crawl through the world wide web and shake him something fierce, screaming, don't do it, don't do it!

The National Debt should be under a national review and microscope of all 300 million of us, starting today.  Here's a flashback to 2011, CNS News offers an immediate reality check of then and now -- and all within a matter of a few years:

"As of Monday, Obama had been in office 986 days—or about 32 and a half months. During that time, the debt increased at an average pace of $4.27 billion per day. Were that rate to continue until Obama’s term ends on Jan. 20, 2013, the debt would then stand at about $16.86534 trillion—an increase of more than $6.2 trillion for Obama’s four years."

Remember now, this is the projection from October 5, 2011!

So read it again.

And where are we at...October 10, 2013...16.962066 and escalating.  Was CNS right on target, or what?    So, at 4.27 billion per day, continuing until the end of his second term, another 27 months later...we add another 3.2 trillion!...and arrive at 20 trillion dollars, or more,  in DEBT by the time he is done (and without even trying to calculate the bureaucratic nightmare that is Obamacare -- because it is incalculable!).

Speaking of which -- how much did we pay for this guaranteed IT motherlode of a contract to keep up and running -- first projected to be @ a cost of 93 million dollars?   Try a bite of this.  OR go to the digital trend re-do, here.  Either way you look at it, it's a lot of muckn' funny...

So, you know, health care is an industry that spans, affects, controls one-sixth of our national economy.   We should all be afraid.

[Oh holy crap -- he caved.]

BREAKING NEWS:  floating a six week debt limit extension with no strings attached.

Aw geeze louise, might as well commit myself to a rubber room right now.

"If Ands or Buts were candy and nuts, then every day would be Christmas" -- what?

So what do we call the kind of government that begins to control absolutely everything, and not very well, to boot?

Hold up.

What?

Oh, you need another example, besides our amassing of great debt with nothing good to show for it?

How about this news, coming to us via The Fiscal Times:  how about the humongous, privacy stealing, unconstitutional, earth shattering bureaucratic mess that is the NSA spy center being unable to operate without starting an electrical fire?

If only Lefties (and the righties falling into the same camp and trap as the Speaker of the House) would simply take off their rose colored glasses, surely with shades of grey showing just around the temples -- they might just see how upside down America is right about now.

  • Mainstream media controlled by the boot to the neck of this administration.
  • Monthly incomes of half the population, through federal entitlements... disability, welfare, food stamps, unemployment -- supported solely on the other half, the backs of the taxpayers.
  • Executive Branch unilaterally making up law, changing law, and ignoring law according to it's need [see DOMA, DADT, Immigration Law, and the general usurping of Constitutional Authority].
  • Executive Branch creating a police state, to inflict hurt and pain on the American people, controlling access to taxpayer funded properties, memorials, and benefits -- under the guise of a government shutdown [see current events].
  • Executive Branch controlling our children's education, through Common Core [see new D of Education reforms].
  • Executive Branch controlling the closure of our churches for military personnel [see this].
  • Executive Branch controlling the use of the National Mall, when during a shutdown, it makes an exception for an amnesty march...[really?]
  • I refuse to continue.
Defining fascism, (Concise Encyclopedia)...

"Philosophy of government that stresses the primacy and glory of the state, unquestioning obedience to its leader, subordination of the individual will to the state's authority, and harsh suppression of dissent. Martial virtues are celebrated, while liberal and democratic values are disparaged. Fascism arose during the 1920s and '30s partly out of fear of the rising power of the working classes; it differed from contemporary communism (as practiced under Joseph Stalin) by its protection of business and landowning elites and its preservation of class systems. The leaders of the fascist governments of Italy (1922–43), Germany (1933–45), and Spain (1939–75)—Benito Mussolini, Adolf Hitler, and Francisco Francowere portrayed to their publics as embodiments of the strength and resolve necessary to rescue their nations from political and economic chaos. Japanese fascists (1936–45) fostered belief in the uniqueness of the Japanese spirit and taught subordination to the state and personal sacrifice. See also totalitarianism; neofascism"

Make no mistake,  what is happening in America is the will not of the people, but glory of the state.

Oh the irony when our president spoke a few days ago, saying, "we can't make extortion routine," directing his ire over the Republicans in the House, firmly planted on this nation's foundation advocating for smaller, limited government and insisting Obamacare be, at the very least, delayed, as a condition of increasing our nation's debt limit.

When all along, it has been the very conditions of this administration -- firmly planted in remaining steadfast, headstrong, and fully committed to designating the debt ceiling non-negotiable, that has brought America to her knees; and when further pressed -- resorts to cutting off services to Veterans, access to open air memorials, stopping the transfer of death benefits to military families, closing church doors, threatening non-payment of social security payments, threatening default on our debt when, in fact, the president is fully authorized to control who gets what and when!

extortion?

knock, knock,
who's there?
Extortion.
Extortion, who?
Extortion Dude-in-Chief, at your service -- specializing in extraordinary, extortionary means for extraordinary, extortionary ends [opening his cape and flashing his pearly whites, making all the stupid girls swoon]

[Yes, juvenile it is. Bite me.]

On that note -- there's enough here to gnaw on for awhile; not to mention, with the House being on fire as we speak, it's enough to spin me into a tizzy-fit.
And nobody needs to see that.

Make it a Good Day, G

Oh the extraordinary, extortionary, strateegury of creating new language on the fly...it's what I do.   thank you, thank you very much, be here all week, or at least until the end of the day.  come back again real soon, ya'll.

Oh what's this?  What's the first to go, according to Jack-o-lantern-Lew?  And love the boots, where'd you get 'em?

It's the Corner of Lunacy and Solvency Thing

Dear America,

"A people who values
its privileges
above its principles
soon loses both."

Eisenhower apparently said that.

And then there is something from Lincoln:

"America will never
be destroyed from the outside.
If we falter
and lose our freedoms,
it will be because we destroyed ourselves."

amen to that.

Now, to piggy-back upon an advertising campaign from Walgreens... 'at the corner of happy and healthy' -- or is it healthy and happy -- guess the intersection America has landed?

Here's a hint...

commenting upon the bureaucratic hot mess that is the nation's disability program, now at a whopping 135 Billion dollars a year, and set to be out of money in a few years, the general response is something like, half the country is outraged, while the other half wonders 'where do I sign up for benefits.'

exactly.

This Disability Department spends more money than the Department of Homeland Security, Labor and Justice COMBINED, according to the investigative journalism expressly brought to you at the corner of 60 Minutes and Sunday.   See more here.

And it is wrought with fraud, to say the least; a perfect storm, fifty years in the making, to say the most.

While many things seem to be getting grayer by the minute, many other things are just black and white.

Now, let me lead you to a column from Thomas Sowell -- the brilliant mind that he is,  gives us a matter of fact, on the record response, of Who Shut Down the Government, here.

And then again, here's a thought (and brought to us via Michael Barone, via The Patriot Post):

"The problem was caused by James Madison. And by the 39 other men who signed the Constitution in 1787. The problem, of course, is the government shutdown. It was caused because the Framers of the Constitution wisely provided for separation of powers among the three branches of government. The president would faithfully execute the laws and be commander in chief of the military, but both houses of Congress would have to approve of every penny the government could spend."

Brilliant.

As the second week of the "government shutdown" begins, we are quickly reminded of the corner of lunacy and solvency meeting somewhere in Washington, most likely at the intersection of behind closed doors and impromptu photo ops.

Has anyone looked at the Debt Clock lately?

Considering our "debt limit" is 16.69 Trillion dollars -- how is it that the U.S. Debt Clock, in real time, is barreling to 17 T's and in this second is at about 16.966 Trillion?  Cast your eyes to the real thing here.

So upon this happy Monday -- put together the information stream that is at your fingertips, please!  Begin with 60 Minutes...find your way with Thomas Sowell...follow through with Byron York...and stop at the Debt Clock.  Just stop there, for a moment or two,  and realize the true GPS showing where America sits.

America's global positioning is shifting right under our feet. It's a battle between the have's and the have-nots, and turns self-reliance and independence and freedom against each other and into a fallacy -- at least, that is what seems to be driving both behind the wheel and rational of this new America...

but what do I know, I'm just a girl standing on the same corner with the rest of you.

Make it a Good Day, G

It's Paging the One Who Stopped Working, Stopped Negotiating, Stopped Everything But Campaigning...Thing

Dear America,

since it's Friday, and it's been a long, ugly, vile, idiotic week in American politics -- we will end with something funny:

This is our president speaking to his people, yesterday...

"Everybody here just does their job, right? You know, if you’re working here and in the middle of the day you just stopped and said, you know what? I want to get something, but I don’t know — I don’t know exactly what I’m going get, but — I’m just going to stop working until I get something– I’m going to shut down the whole plant until I get something. You’d get fired! Right?"

right, you mean, like a strike?

no, no, you mean, like saying you refuse to negotiate?  As if you're just gonna stop working, not negotiate with anybody, like it's my way or the highway, and basically stop doing your job....as president, CEO, director-in-chief, negotiator-in-chief?  [oh and it's on tape]

You are so confused, it even makes my head spin.

Oh, okay, so what are you saying?  You want Trump to hand deliver his trademark phrase, "you're fired" before the end of the day?  Somebody get on that, stat.    You're the one who is on the campaign trail, closing National Parks left and right, and insisting to have your way with nothing more to say...

But this line --
this off teleprompter moment in rhetoric, good enough to last a lifetime...
That's a good one, oh brilliant one,
Barack Hussein Obama
Idiot-in-Chief*

Make it a Good Day, G

* I can call him that because he has compared me -- and all of us who truly, genuinely believe in a small, limited federal government --  a suicide-bomb, card-carrying fanatical, radical extremist with abandon.   Idiot is being fairly sweet, I think.   xox

It's a Speak, Pray, Fight Thing

Dear America,

this might seem random... but since when has that ever stopped me :)

let's begin with an excerpt from William Wilberforce, Real Christianity -- a revised and updated version by Bob Beltz:

"As he wrote in his diary on October 28, 1787, God had set before him two great objects:  the suppression of the slave trade and the work of moral reform.  And so, even as Wilberforce wages what would be a 20-year fight to abolish Britain's slave trade, he began scores of philanthropic initiatives."

Wilberforce, being influenced back in the day to take up the charge by an old friend, John Newton.   And Newton, oddly enough, being a former slave trader -- and author of one of the most beautiful songs in the hymnal, if not the whole world, "Amazing Grace."

"Seeking always to be salt and light within his culture, Wilberforce worked with many people who did not share his Christian worldview..."  Beltz begins with a compilation of accolades, as he sets the tone for the masterpiece we are about to read.

For Wilberforce believed,  "it is the true duty of every man to promote the happiness of his fellow creatures to the utmost of his power."   And he went on to do just that, authentically, never afraid to stand up for what is truly right and good and decent for all.

This thing called Obamacare --
a travesty of America's health care industry, our free market, justice, equality, freedom, and especially the pursuit of happiness, was designed by a think tank, years in the making, with thousands of pages of regulations and controls and mandates and fines, to fundamentally enslave us all.

It's as if we are each bearing witness to the most stunning acts of American history right before our eyes; the final straw on the camel's back has been laid to rest, to disrupt, destroy and bankrupt America's authentic landscape from sea to shining sea, through a massive federal entitlement, elevating the redistribution of wealth to a level unseen and unimaginable.

And it's the Tea Party Patriots who are attacked and labeled the fanatics -- and in every possible vile and slanderous way?

I will, this day, wholeheartedly agree with Wilberforce: "it is the true duty of every man to promote the happiness of his fellow creatures to the utmost of his power."

Speak, pray, fight, without ceasing.

Stand up for what is truly right and good and decent and true.

Who are the obstructionists?
Let me define what we are really experiencing right now -- it's called a hostile takeover of one-sixth of our economy* against the people's will.   Other people might call it a coup -- masterminded by the highly radicalized, fanatical, progressive, community organizers in office.

When just a few hours ago we get something like this, out of Reuters:

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Barack Obama stressed to congressional leaders on Wednesday that he will not negotiate with Republicans over a government shutdown or raising the U.S. debt limit, the White House said.

After more than an hour of talks at the White House that did not lead to a breakthrough, the White House issued a statement saying that Obama remains hopeful that "common sense will prevail" in the budget standoff.

"The president made clear to the leaders that he is not going to negotiate over the need for Congress to act to reopen the government or to raise the debt limit to pay the bills Congress has already incurred," the White House said.

So at the risk of repeating myself these days,

Obama can unilaterally waive certain parts of Obamacare, without so much as a flinch from the press, without such exemptions/exceptions legally supported by a vote in congress, and without any legal, constitutional authority to do anything of the kind...and yet he claims, buried in hypocrisy and mocking his own illegitimate motions, "it is settled."

Obama can unilaterally decide what parts of our U.S. Immigration law to heed or abolish or ignore...

But the House of Representatives can't negotiate on behalf of the American people with him, the Senate, on any part of it -- even to simply delay it or to mandate all federal employees, including congress and the president, to use it?

Back to more current events, as in back at the Rose Garden, Tuesday...It's almost as if he believes he rules America akin to being a king.  [That link leads you to an official transcript on the day]

The Affordable Care Act is a law that passed the House; it passed the Senate.  The Supreme Court ruled it constitutional.  It was a central issue in last year’s election.  It is settled, and it is here to stay.  And because of its funding sources, it’s not impacted by a government shutdown...

So I’ll speak more on this in the coming days, but let me repeat:  I will not negotiate over Congress’s responsibility to pay bills it’s already racked up.  I’m not going to allow anybody to drag the good name of the United States of America through the mud just to refight a settled election or extract ideological demands.  Nobody gets to hurt our economy and millions of hardworking families over a law you don’t like.

It was made law through acts of treason against the freedoms and liberties of the American people, while being severely, forcibly, passed through the halls of congress on lies, manipulation, and political process steeped in one-upmanship and corruption.

[Remember, Obamacare was never sold to the American people as a tax -- otherwise it never would have passed congress and the president would have had to take back this: "I can make a firm pledge. Under my plan no family making less than $250,000 a year will see any form of tax increase. Not your income tax, not your payroll tax, not your capital gains taxes, not any of your taxes." circa 2008]

It is settled, my oh my...the audacity.

Just love that part about, "and because of its funding sources, it's not impacted by a government shutdown."  Oh that is rich -- in an obscene, vulgar kind of way.  Oh but the Army/Navy game is?  A game already fully paid for, and cancelled for political gain merely to punish us and lambaste the GOP?

Oh you mean the funding sources such as stealing 716 Billion from Medicare -- or were you thinking more of the highly destructive tax resource, projected to come from the sale of medical devices? Or is the reality more like telling the American people a total funding lie -- considering the latest projection coming from the CBO to be three times its original cost?

Going backwards before we move forward:  Someday we should revisit that thing called the current immigration law through the myopic presidential lens who believes "nobody gets to hurt our economy and millions of hardworking families over a law you don't like" -- you know,  considering it's coming from the same president confident in orchestrating exemptions on the fly, by Executive Order, and hence unilaterally dragging  "the good name of the United States of America through the mud just to refight a settled election or extract ideological demands" fully determined to elevate an immigration policy of  lawlessness.

And in the 'I'll show you what power I have at my fingertips to make it hurt until the GOP caves into my demands...' department -- THIS.

At what point is a law settled?

Don't we have an immigration policy, supported by immigration law, just like every other country in the world?   Wouldn't our illegal immigration woes be solved simply by following the settled, bonafide, immigration laws already on the books?  It is settled, right?

Why do we keep revisiting this law as if the law, itself, does not exist?

How can a president arbitrarily decide what law he will follow, and what law he will not -- and then turn around and tell actual lawmakers they have no jurisdiction to revisit the law at all?   I think the president should revisit PoliSci 101.  And this guy specializes in Constitutional Law?  He refuses to enforce parts of a law!

We fought a revolutionary war to settle taxation without representation; we fought a civil war to settle -- abolish -- slavery.   Cue the fight against Obamacare --  overfloweth with taxation, enslavement, redistribution of wealth, mandates to purchase health care or pay a tax, and facing a trajectory that kills our free market, forces a very unpopular failure and eventual loss of the availability of private insurance and individual PRIVACY, strains doctors and staff, rations care (death panels), with plans intending to end with a single payer, socialized medicine entitlement for all... even if it kills us.  Let's settle this once for all.

"It is the true duty of every man
 to promote the happiness
of his fellow creatures
to the utmost of his power."

History proves, it still requires the duty of every man to promote the happiness of his fellow creatures, by way of holding to a certain moral standard, holding to a certain level of genuine, authentic, decency and goodness and lawfulness.   It's a duty and responsibility we each hold and owe to each other.

Obamacare jeopardizes the general happiness for us all -- and with every ounce of power and might, we must fight as if our lives depend on it.

Three days before Wilberforce died, British Parliament passed a law abolishing slavery throughout the entire empire...

It was the year 1787 where I began the day taking a cue from a page in his diary; it was the same year as our Constitution Convention in America.

Here's a hook with a quick look into a place called edsitement!  [please note: due to the government shutdown, this site may not be fully up to date...blah, blah, blah]
On the last day of the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia, Benjamin Franklin observed that he had often wondered whether the design on the president's chair depicted a rising or a setting sun. "Now at length," he remarked, "I have the happiness to know that it is a rising and not a setting sun"...

...In this unit, students will examine the roles that key American founders played in creating the Constitution, and the challenges they faced in the process. They will learn why many Americans in the 1780s believed that reforms to the Articles of Confederation were necessary, and the steps taken to authorize the 1787 Convention in Philadelphia. They will become familiar with the main issues that divided delegates at the Convention, particularly the questions of representation in Congress and the office of the presidency. Finally, they will see how a spirit of compromise, in the end, was necessary for the Convention to fulfill its task of improving the American political system.

We have a chance to prove the sun also rising.

One thing more before we bid adieu --
Under the heading WHITE HOUSE REJECTED A REQUEST...

Even though the WWII Memorial is wide open to the public by design, a place to stroll come any time of day or night ---  even though it is constructed on federal property, it was funded almost entirely by private gifts -- even though it has no doors -- even though the partial government slim down, including national parks, officially closed national parks.... the government SPENT money to multiply the number of guards and add barry-cades and miles of yellow crime scene tape and threatened to arrest anyone who might cross...including bus loads of Honor Flight Veterans from WWII! ...... And dragged into the mud...

We can't keep it open (even though it's always open) but we can afford to use whatever means necessary to keep people out...seriously?   As if any of that makes any sense.   And we are to have confidence in this government taking over one-sixth of the economy, as well as have control over our own personal health care?

Upon morning light, they invaded again , this time singing a round of "Amazing Grace."

What a beautiful song.

Consider it fuel for - what might just be - a long, long fight ahead; the call of duty is truly great.

Make it a Good Day, G

footnote *:  President Obama, is single handedly responsible for destroying the stock market on a scare tactic and threat, in a boot to the neck kind of way....Drumming up fear, worry, through irresponsible, reckless rhetoric this morning....you know, given the market was pretty calm, considering.  It wasn't until Obama opened his mouth and put the fear of god in people, that the market tanked...Wall Street needs to be genuinely concerned....

It's All About What is Essential Now Thing

Dear America,

upon morning light, the flag is still flying...

anyone who watched the final hours of the Cruz filibuster, would be able to connect the stars and stripes on that opening line.

It's going to be okay, folks.

This fight is over government spending on a spending bill.  If not now, when?

The Senate couldn't even muster the decency to take away their own cushy government health care insurance package -- one that is also 75% subsidized by the American taxpayer --  and fall into the Obamacare exchanges like everybody else.

The Senate couldn't even muster the courage to take away the medical device tax -- a debilitating tax intended to help pay for Obamacare that an overwhelming majority, in both Houses and the general public, dislike -- in a last ditch effort to at least appear like a body politic that is able to compromise with the other side.

Oh, and the president is going to come out to speak to us.    Goodie goodie, let the spin-doctor begin.

Let me guess --  he'll be standing there in the Rose Garden, with a backdrop of security guards and museum tour guides who just lost their mission in life and have no where else to go today, and he's going to lash out against that "one faction" of unruly republicans again...

Let's reboot what he said just yesterday, with thanks to NewsMax:

"...but one faction of one party in one house of Congress in one branch of government doesn't get to shut down the entire government just to fight the results of an election."

It's not about you! Mr. President, you narcissist freak.  Have you taken your meds?
I'm sorry.  Not sure what came over me.
It must be the crazy in me talking.

But if you wanna go down that road -- let's go back to look at the midterm elections of 2010 real quick --  you know the results; they are reflective of the immediate response to your free radical meets liberal elitist love child, Obamacare, becoming the law.  Of course, masterminded behind closed doors and consummated in a typical, congressional burning of the midnight oil kind of way (and on Christmas Eve of 2009, no less, it was so romantic, even Hollywood couldn't envision it more beautiful).   See Real Clear Politics page, here...hmmm in the Senate, GOP up 6, Dem's down 5; House GOP up 63, Dem's down 63; State Governors, GOP up 5, Dem's down 6.

This is about another entitlement package that is already disproving every promise the president ever made about it; one that also jeopardizes every facet of our once stellar American health care system.   This is about protecting the American people.

This obscene law --  this requirement of the federal government mandating the American people to buy something -- never had a mandate of the people.

One of Cruz's favorite filibuster phrases included this one:

"Good enough for thee, but not for me."

Do as I say, not as I do...right?

Bottom line, I believe this push back from the House Republicans is a good one.  For the first time in months, maybe years, they are standing on principle no matter what comes, no matter what Krauthammer says.

Last night, here's Charles:
So why would you stake everything on something where Americans are hugely against you rather than get something easy on the C.R. and get the hard stuff, the spending cuts, the pipeline, stripping -- delaying Obamacare a year on the debt ceiling, where America is behind you?

This is a question of simple application of intelligence, it's not about a commitment to principle or a belief in conservative ideas

Or, why not take advantage of both occasions?  The Continuing Resolution and the Debt Ceiling are equally fit for fighting, and making a course correction through eliminating programs we cannot afford is merely something little g would consider a good start.

Let's use both situations to fight against the spending sprees of this administration.  Remember, beginning with a stimulus package to nowhere and continuing with an entitlement program to lala-land, and not stopping for anything in between and taking existing entitlement conditions to extremes (i.e. food stamps), this nation runs on trillion dollar deficits!

Let's keep it going non-stop; pray without ceasing; and fight the good fight until the bitter end, if that's where things end up.  Let's beat them at their own game:  pick a target, freeze it, personalize it, polarize it.

You're right, dirty Harry.   This is about a fight to a return to sanity -- on behalf of individual freedom everywhere and making way for the limited, smaller government that remains, as this nation was founded.   And for back up, go here... and thank you Heritage Foundation.

But here's more from the president yesterday --

Congress needs to keep our government open, needs to pay our bills on time, and never, ever threaten the full faith and credit of the United States of America...

Unfortunately, right now, House Republicans continue to tie funding of the government to ideological demands like limiting a woman's access to contraception or delaying the Affordable Care Act, all to save face after making some impossible promises to the extreme right wing of their party.
Oh, like the ideological demands that include not paying for somebody's abortion?  You referring to that one?

With regard to operations that will continue: If you’re on Social Security, you will keep receiving your checks," said Obama. "If you’re on Medicare, your doctor will still see you. Everyone’s mail will still be delivered. And government operations related to national security or public safety will go on. Our troops will continue to serve with skill, honor, and courage. Air traffic controllers, prison guards, those who are with border control--our Border Patrol will remain on their posts, but their paychecks will be delayed until the government reopens.   [Read more at CNSnews]

So Yosemite and the Statue of Liberty might have to close for a wee bit in order to settle this make or break moment in American history.   And the problem is?

Regarding the LAST TIME the government shut down -- along with some surprising trivia -- go to NPR here.

This is about the people's LAST STAND on Obamacare.  It's as simple as that.

Perhaps, every day for the next couple of weeks, the GOP should parade around the failures of Obamacare, large and small, in front of the American people -- much like Mark Levin did all during his radio show yesterday; maybe that reality might seep into the cracks of the American Senate.

To be sure, the mainstream media hasn't an interest in doing so.   Who would have thought -- the MSM Trojans, the condom of corruption and fundamental transformation, protecting this president and this administration from a full Monty failure upon every progressive push..   Where is the shame?

In America, it is not winner takes all, and taking full advantage of it all along the way,  once you gain power in the Oval Office.   And once again, shame on John McCain for giving this notion any credibility whatsoever!

It's not like all compromise comes to a screeching halt and ceases to exist; two sides of the aisle remain no matter how lop-sided it may seem.   Take, for example, the libertarians; they have never had the majority.  But do they sit back and throw in the towel?  Tell that to the Ron Paul entourage.

At this moment, only the essential government departments are being paid.  Ergo, this is a chance to look at what is truly  ESSENTIAL, for Pete's sake.

Is it really all that extreme to demand our government be fiscally responsible?

And another thing!  It's certainly not about the opposing ideologies between the liberals and conservatives.  Hardly.  This is about the rise of a serial rapist that comes in progressive clothing, left and right, what difference does it fukeen make?

And so what?  I'm the crazy one?  I'm the extremist?  The silly little tea party girl who loves party dresses and the color pink?   Seriously?

This is about Old school meeting up with New Radicals, with thanks to the teachings of Saul Alinsky...

Ridicule.

Pick a target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.

Bombard the opposition.

Marginalize tradition.

Divide and conquer...absolutely everything.

Use that Middle Class to the progressive advantage...over and over again.

and LIE, yes, lie, lie, lie --
and tell lie to cover a lie.

and no matter what, keep the pressure on...

like right now, as the Chosen One is speaking right now.

If elections have consequences -- the curtains must be at the cleaners, for we can see everything.

The true Barack Obama is revealing himself as we speak, as his "ideological crusade" marches forward, smug as ever,  fundamentally aiming to change everything.    Scam on.

must go now,
but make no mistake --
at 17 TRILLION dollars in debt,
with 90 TRILLION in UNFUNDED liabilities --
this is about what is truly essential now;  heaven forbid, we allow the progressives to decide for all of us.   As it stands now, we cannot afford any of it -- individually, collectively, upside down and backwards.

Make it a Good Day, G
