It's about Making Everything Around Me Beautiful Thing

Dear America,

"I'm going to make
everything
around me beautiful --
that will be my life."
Elsie de Wolfe

just ordered her book off of Amazon Smile for 2.60, plus shipping; the Daughters of the American Revolution gets .5% of it...but what even is that at POINT five percent?  Not much.

Elsie died in 1950; thinking the only real value remaining from The House in Good Taste (published in 1913), will be revealed in its pages, given the era of the day. and doncha know that this girl is so excited to read it...

Elsie is also quoted as saying, "Good taste can be developed in anyone, just as surely as good manners are possible to anyone.  And good taste is as necessary as good manners."  Figures she would say something like that, considering she is often attributed as the "First Lady" of  AMERICAN interior design.  She valued the development, the time, the creative spirit, the importance, of a house in good taste -- and she truly wanted to teach others to feel and do and make a house beautiful just the same.

And, like many things of value institutionalized in America -- according to Elsie, this certain penchant for designing a house in good taste was an equal opportunity endeavor; but, of course, it is!   Surely, a house of good taste is as achievable as good manners -- and we all know how this country is simply overflowing with the abundance of good manners.

Let us not get stuck on the prevalence of please and thank you's about town; but let us return to the Elsie's lovely purpose in life -- making everything around her beautiful.   Indeed, she says, "that will be my life."

Breathing it in further, I wonder how Elsie would feel if I seized upon her golden rule as my own?  We can share it, can't we, Elsie?

If you really think about it -- besides nearly feeling this sweet sentiment elegantly flowing from her lips while standing in the foyer of some grand American palace that she called home -- what a concept it is, eh?  To go about one's day with the intention of simply leaving beautiful footprints as to where we've been... oh what a beautiful world we would have.

From the beautiful things we would speak of, and say, to one another; to the beautiful expressions of service we would freely give to one another; to the beautiful rooms, and schools, and offices, of every building about town, that would be beautifully transformed by our lofty objective to make every person, place, or thing we come in contact with all the more beautiful, inside and out.

The thing is, given the vicious news cycle of the last year, the snarky grumblings to the vitriolic outbursts on social media, of things in the macrocosm basically growing less and less beautiful every living breathing day in America -- coming to this realization in the microcosm, of the beautification of things, seems a worthy ambition, and dare I say, even very doable and attainable.  As in, this will be my life from this moment forward.

It's worth a shot, right?

My world according to me, G  -- my girl, my boys, my family/my circle, my community, my country -- is worth every bit of this intention, so help me God.

And just in case this girl is not back before the end of 2018 (who really knows at this point...honestly, I would give it a POINT  five percent of a chance, but we will have to wait and see, won't we)....my Christmas wish from one and to all is to let this be the call to call your own into the new year, too...

Make everything around you beautiful.

Whether on the settee, the chaise, the sectional that fits a family of six, or that age-old recliner that smells of forty years of football -- let this sit with you, permanently leaving an impression in the cushions and begging the question:   is what you are about to say or do going to make this America a more beautiful place, or no?

[And here's looking at you, House of Representatives...the White House...and not to feel left out, that illegal room addition, also known as the Senate...Speaking of which, this piece of news is entertaining...we have to talk more about this in the new year, even though this girl has made the point umpteen times before:  the Senate was originally designed to be the voice of the STATE!!!! It was not meant to be representative of the voice of the people!!!   Fareed is an fareeking idiot!!!  Oops...and in an instant, there goes my beautiful blahhhhhhhg....Anywho.... thankfully, Fareed is making the founders' point!  In no uncertain terms, America must return to the olden days when each state legislature elected their own state Senators, in order to argue the needs and best interests of each state!  The founders didn't create a congress to have a House of Representatives next door to the House of Senators.  Um.  that would be just plum stupid, or maybe the shade is more eggplant...Elsie?]

Okay, so I should not have called Fareed a fareeking idiot; I'll keep working on cleaning up my beautiful mouth.

Until then, it's pretty much not so simple after all; but, as a foundation to live by, there is nothing too ornate, phony, contrived about it.  In my book, it is simply an ideal that belongs here, like black and white parquet floors, and ferns, lots and lots of ferns, all happily living next door with the exceptional standards of America, the Beautiful, in every possible way.  It is worthy, based solely on the merits; and the value....priceless.

May all of you beautiful people find yourselves surrounded by the beautiful people you love this beautiful Christmas, and may our Beautiful and Glorious God bless us every one.

Make it a Good Day, G

It's a Girl on Fire Thanks to Tom Steyer Thing

Dear America,

"live righteously and love everyone"
Tea Yogi
truth is,
this is probably next to impossible,
given the world in which we live.

The latest Chicago murder stats, 2018:  HERE

Baltimore murder stats, 2017, now surpassing all other American cities of populations greater than 500,000:  HERE

And thanks to the growth of corruption and cartels, just south of my home town, lies Tijuana, Mexico -- and with two months still remaining in 2018, this once sweet Baja city, perfect for tourism, offering everything from silly chachkies to tequila to street tacos with just a quick trip across the border, returning home complete with, maybe a velvet painting of Elvis, or a colorful woven blanket for less than 10.00, or even just a handful of Chicklets sold by little Tijuana children, or nuns, as you wait, and wait, and wait, in the long line of cars going back to the USA --  MORE than 2,000 murders have already been committed.

Some of you may know that I follow a minister -- John Gray -- on both television and via Instagram...and he posted this message over the weekend:    "A 97 year-old Holocaust survivor was killed for being Jewish yesterday.  In the United States.  Let that sink in."  Apparently, it was first posted by Jada Pinkett Smith... but no matter --  either way we find it -- once it, in fact, sinks in, we are surely left speechless.  In shock.

Question -- was the Pulse Nightclub shooting, June 2016, President Obama's fault?  That shooter killed 49 people -- at the time, this was found as the deadliest mass shooting in the United States and the nation's worst terror attack since 9/11; and it was just a little over a year ago, the people of this great country experienced the Vegas shooting --  killing 59 innocents, in attendance at the Route 91 Harvest Festival...and yet, to this day, there is still no more information on motive than on the day it happened -- was that Trump's fault, too?

Black Lives Matter formed under the age of Obama -- and in turn, attacks and homicides against our police officers in uniform and protecting our neighborhoods have skyrocketed; is Obama to blame for that?

The Obama administration was linked to an organization/political campaign running against Bibi, no less...what kind of political interference, against a friend of America, is that -- moreover, this attack in Pittsburgh was at the hand of an anti-Semite and Trump hater who seems to have more in common with some of Obama's political allies -- like, Louis Farrakhan -- than anyone else.  Shame on who?

This past weekend's tragedy speaks of horrible, unthinkable hatred... killing eleven people in a synagogue, solely based upon their Jewish religion.

From CNN:
"Authorities on Sunday released the names of the 11 victims, all of whom were from Pennsylvania. They included a married couple, a pair of brothers and a beloved physician.
Joyce Fienberg, 75, Rose Mallinger, 97, Jerry Rabinowitz, 66, Cecil Rosenthal, 59, David Rosenthal, 54, Daniel Stein, 71, Melvin Wax, 88, and Irving Younger, 69, were from Pittsburgh. Richard Gottfried, 65, was from Ross Township and Bernice Simon, 84, and Sylvan Simon, 86, were from Wilkinsburg, Allegheny County Chief Medical Examiner Karl Williams said."
But like every other mass murder, or homicide -- the cause goes directly to the actions of ONE person, a person who is clearly not of the right mind --  be its origins from a heart full of bigotry,  a criminal mind, an evil intention to do harm, a mental illness or overall lack of well being or ability to cope and live peacefully with others...There is no amount of gun control that will stop this kind of madness.  None.

Evil people will find a way to do evil, be it from a gun, a knife, a car, a plane, a bomb in a backpack or mailed....or even with their two hands wrapped around a neck.

But even people like Tom Steyer needs to tone it down a wee bit -- about this hatred towards the entire republican party; don't liberals want to "live righteously and love everyone" like everybody else?  What's with the continuing hate against good Americans who only mean well....and that goes double, for this president.  Trump doesn't hate Americans or America; Trump wants to make America, all of America, great again.  Republicans don't hate other Americans or America; republicans want to make America, all of America, great again.  What's not to love about that?

Steyer said --
"I think his response to the tragedy [Saturday] was appropriate, but there's something much bigger than that going on here, which is the atmosphere that he's created -- and that the Republican Party has created -- in terms of political violence," Steyer said. "If you look across the political scene, what you see is routine, systematic lawlessness. ... We see it in a president who has been breaking the law systematically, as a candidate, as a businessman, and as a president."

Seriously?
That is reckless rhetoric at it's greatness.

Really?  The republican party is responsible for the atmosphere of political violence?  Shameful.

And just where, in fact,  is Trump committing systematic lawlessness?  By obliterating Obama's leftist Executive Orders?  By obliterating Obama's climate change redistribution of America's wealth?  By obliterating the under the cover of darkness deal with Iran and the nuclear agreement, which somehow paid Iran billions of dollars in American cash?

Or how about when the entire Obama Administration fed Americans, and the United Nations, and the rest of the world, this lie -- that the Benghazi terrorist attack was all because of a video; which, if you all recall -- during the night of the attack -- Obama had the audacity to exit the war room, just to get a good night's sleep before flying to the Left coast for a fundraiser the very next morning...American forces were willing and able to fly over from Italy that night, and they were told to stand down....Shameful.

Oh Steyer --  "You can't find prominent Democrats who are leading chants with violent overtones. ... all the kinds of attempts to play to people's strongest emotions."   That is hilarious.

Um, you mean like, Ms. Maxine --- make'm pay and get in their face--- Waters?  Or like, Hillary Clinton's cat call for continuing the incivility until such time democrats are back in power?  Like that?  Like Eric Holder, insisting on kicking back?  Like Obama once said in a rally, if they bring a knife to a fight, we bring a gunStuff like that?  Shameful.

I will take actions by Tea Party for 200 dollars, please; prayers and all, any day of the week and back again, there is a right side to stand and I know exactly where it begins and ends.

The thing is -- I'm just sick of this nonsense.  Just sick of it.

So live it up, leftists.  Live it up.  For the world you are creating -- by way of mass media propaganda, building big  government dependency, establishing illogical economical solutions that has basically ruined America's healthcare system, along with your latest leftist flip-flop -- with the insistence of open borders subjecting Americans to unimaginable costs of millions of illegals, and of course, the general, all-round hostility towards conservatives and republicans, making character attacks upon an entire political party -- is all thanks to you.

I feel sorry for you, Steyer -- and all.  IF this is how you play nice with others; if this is how you show your tolerance; if this is how you argue on the specifics and the merits of our differences, then there is no hope for us.

Here's Trump, with some of his last twenty four -- "The Fake News is doing everything in their power to blame Republicans, Conservatives and me for the division and hatred that has been going on for so long in our Country. Actually, it is their Fake & Dishonest reporting which is causing problems far greater than they understand!"

and this -- "There is great anger in our Country caused in part by inaccurate, and even fraudulent, reporting of the news. The Fake News Media, the true Enemy of the People, must stop the open & obvious hostility & report the news accurately & fairly. That will do much to put out the flame..."   "...of Anger and Outrage and we will then be able to bring all sides together in Peace and Harmony. Fake News Must End!"

Truth is -- no matter the occasion, no matter what is happening around you -- you are either on the side of right action, choosing to do the right thing, choosing to love everyone, choosing to live righteously --  OR you're not.  There is no line in-between; you are either there, or you're not there.    You are either doing the right thing, or you are not.  You are either saying the right thing, or you are not.

Ripping an entire political party for political gain -- and blaming an entire party for the political violence and instability -- is not only juvenile, it is wrongheaded.

At the end of this day,
all I can do or say is pray.

May God bless the friends and families of this horrendous attack; and may all of America one day make peace with this, and most especially, with each other.

It's not lip service.
It is just the direction we -- ALL of US --  really must go.

It is not okay for you to hate me just because I live and vote and have my being wrapped around conservative ideals under the Republican party.  I voted for Trump and more than any other time in my adult life, am really proud that I did.  And I support democrats, and the Left, as a whole, to be continue to be wrong about nearly everything, and to continue to argue public policy on the merits.

teehee

I love my party; I love what the republican party stands up for; I love what prominent republicans have done for this country -- like, Abraham Lincoln, like Ronald Reagan -- two of the very best presidents America has ever had.

We MUST find a way to live righteously and love one another, or else.  Or else.

But come to think of it -- I have no interest to see what "or else" actually looks like, or acts like, or talks like.  No interest at all.
[But much obliged to my muse on the day -- for this girl's fire is expressly due to that Tom Steyer...suddenly, he's like the blind sheikh of leftist elitist socialist dreams, with the media fawning over him like nobody's business...keep it up, dude, keep it up. I can do this all the live long day.]

It's My Right to Write About It Thing

Dear America,

"Writing is an act of self-cherishing.  We often write most deeply and happily on those areas closest to our hearts.  Valuing our experience is not narcissism.  It is not endless self-involvement.  It is, rather, the act of paying active witness to ourselves and to our world.  Such witness is an act of dignity, an act that recognizes that life is essentially a sacred transaction of which we know only the shadow, not the shape."
Julia Cameron's The Writers Life
long ago I read Julia's book, The Right to Write.  It was like reading one big pep talk on overcoming every fear, every obstruction, every dilly-dallying tactic known to man, centering upon the tried and true reality of beginning anything worthwhile, begins here:  simply start.

somehow i let this book get away from me over the years, until now; only this time, it is through Julia's companion piece --  a scaled down version of the original.  This little gem is short -- better still, tiny; somehow, Julia seems to whittle down nearly entire chapters onto one, itty bitty page, offering insight and experience with such ease, it is no wonder she has authored umpteen books, and carries extensive credits in the film, playwright, poetry, and music industries and traveled the world with her natural effervescence and gracious insights, inspiring all the rest of us.

given this diary has ebb and flowed to the rocking and rolling of not only America's news and happenings, but also to my own, the daily battle to bring it -- to just do it anyway -- is sometimes my greatest struggle.  I mean, honestly, is old news about a president's previous dalliances and flirtations really the most important thing to talk about?  Is that what will carry the day, with wanton chatter --  you know, over and above the decades of inappropriate behavior of the actions of a corrupt congress... the shady, inglorious swamp of smut that it is?

Nearly every single one of them bastards -- no matter the sex or sexual persuasions -- should be held in contempt, for crimes against the Rule of Law, the security and general welfare of this country, and shamelessly leading us into utter ruin.

To have signed a 1.3 Trillion dollar omnibus spending bill is insane -- a dirty lowdown lewd act at the hands of the very people who are expressly employed caretakers of the common good, as public servant and appointee of the care and general welfare of the public coffers.  And yet, fiscal responsibility and solvency isn't even on the radar.

To add this kind of legislation, on top of our already twenty trillion dollars in debt, is irresponsible and reprehensible, a vile and vulgar act of cowardly and scandalous proportion.

And yet the nation is all too consumed by the salacious and tawdry porn star past of a current and sitting president, never mind that the dude was elected by the people knowing full well that he was no angel.   Little devils playing under blue dresses is nothing new at all.

But besides all that,
please don't misconstrue -- two wrongs do not make a right, there is that.  We can write about that all the day long.

But the thing is -- Trump was elected president, in spite of his sordid past, because the other candidate sucked way more than he did.  How's that for eloquence?

Matter of fact, Trump was elected president.... because he was the ONLY candidate not of, or even connected, to that thing....that thing commonly referred to as that seedy swamp-like creature rising out of DC, in the color purple on steroids.  That's pretty much nails it in one fell swoop.

In the primary, Trump became the last beacon of hope, a force to be reckoned with -- something uncommonly and seldom witnessed in and around Washington; he was the one candidate with any possibility of lighting Washington on fire, taking prisoners and making enemies all along the way.

Hence, now stymied, my frustration with that darned thing being signed off by the president himself has left my heart feeling vulnerable and fully exposed; my confidence in this leader growing a pair, with the strength and tenacity to hit Washington where the sun don't shine, surely elusive.  Where is the stamina to last longer than a mere couple of hours? Isn't there a pill for this?

Just when I thought the bedrock was rolling, slingshots were slinging, and that history was bearing witness to another version of David meeting Goliath, all things have come down to a mind-boggling maneuver by the one guy this girl thought had a real wing and a prayer to effect real change.

America has no time for more shifty, more slimy politicians.  America has no hope to recover while seemingly more embedded into the transient fixes, things closer to the fallacious and fraudulent, and endorsed by crony capitalists and a political agenda to transform America from her roots.

But such is life in America these days.  Such is life.  And it ain't even close to being pretty .

But what does it matter, right?  This is just a day in the life of an American girl, according to me, G -- only now a year older and praying a wee bit wiser on a number of things, large and small scale alike.  But like this presidency, only time will tell on that score.

Make it a Good Day, G

today --  unlike most of my days -- there is not a link to be seen or heard.  In the macro, it means nothing, really.  Perhaps a clean sweep on the day is more a testimony to all the things I have personally released to the care of the universe in this past year;  out with the old and in with the new is so cliche, indeed.  But that simply means, the idea, the turn of the phrase, was revolutionary before it became commonly overused and somewhat trite.  But make no mistake, for a good cliche has its time and place, especially when it opens the flow of abundance to a brand new world, arriving at just something else to write about any old day now.

Hail to the right to write about any old thing I please.  And thank you, Julia, for the itty bitty reminder of such.

It's About the Threads that Bind Thing

Dear America,

 "Thus, what enables
the wise sovereign
and the good general
to strike and conquer, and achieve things
beyond the reach of ordinary men,
is foreknowledge."
Sun Tzu
chapter thirteen

so, the good news --- even Alabamans recognized Roy Moore was a couple of nuts short of a fruitcake...whew.  we can all get a good giddy up for that, right?

that guy had no business representing the fine state of Alabama, let alone the Republican party; while the winner, Doug Jones -- oh he knows that he must represent the whole of Alabama, and that means the Senate has received a more temperate democrat than the far left norm.  He must also know, when he runs for re-election, he will be met with an entirely new set of conditions on the ground and the opposition will be fierce, ready with a commanding -- and far more deserving -- candidate.  [At least, a girl can hope.....G-zoo, what a whackadoo; and the Alabama  GOP better be moving in that direction, as of six months before yesterday., just sayin'.]

Let's go to Sun Tzu on this happy thursday morn...and get to more from his killer chapter on "The Use of Spies."

He rattles off "five classes" of spies....local; inward; converted; doomed; and surviving.  And goes on to say, "When these five kinds of spy are all at work, none can discover the secret system.  This is called 'divine manipulation of the threads.'  It is the sovereign's most precious faculty."

And this, "Spies cannot be usefully employed without a certain intuitive sagacity...cannot be properly managed without benevolence and straightforwardness...without subtle ingenuity of mind, one cannot make certain of the truth of their reports."

And this, "The end and aim of spying in all its five varieties is knowledge of the enemy; and this knowledge can only be derived , in the first instance, from the converted spy.  Hence, it is essential that the converted spy be treated with the utmost liberality."

........."Spies are a most important element in war, because on them depends an army's ability to move."

Gosh, I love this sh*&  teehee.

What I am stuck on, though -- totally captivated in its intelligence and caught in its web  -- is that part when he articulates the sovereign secret: the "divine manipulation of the threads."  It takes a clear thinking leader to not only orchestrate the retrieving of information, but the experience and shrewdness to know what to do with it, to separate truth and lies and manipulation from the enemy within and without, in order to ultimately use the information to devise the proper response in a timely fashion and win -- be it just a battle or the whole dang war.

It takes a mind that is already three steps ahead of the enemy; it takes a disposition that does not show emotion, or the actual state of mind.  It is always thoughtful; always awake; always working, weaving the threads together into the magnificent weave of  war and peace.

A wise sovereign and the good general, Sun Tzu says, often and much...

This is my wish this Christmas.

For I'm missing that feeling of total confidence in this country's leadership (and mind you,  it has less to do with Trump, and more to do with the entire Republican party -- not to mention, just how dirty overall politics has become).

I'm missing that feeling of total security, that those in charge are wise, are capable of recognizing that at their disposal are these long and sometimes twisted threads of intelligence, and is prepared to manipulate and move and make plays based upon the integrity of the information, and all with the greater good and sovereign nation as it's benefactor.

That level of enlightened leadership has come to America only a spattering of times:  under the nation's founding, under the leadership of our founding fathers; under the Lincoln Administration; under the Reagan Administration; and for a nano-second under the W Administration, just after 9/11.

With the rise of Identity Politics -- the Trump Administration will never be given a fair opportunity to fully lead the nation under the things that truly unite us all --  unlike the grace and latitude given to the Obama Administration, which in fact, resulted in a rather tyrannical force against our foundations right from its start.  And that is a shame.  A real shame; whatta sham.

[Proof...Just look at what they are capable of -- just look at how the Fake Dossier, Russian Collusion, the Clinton State Department, the Clinton Foundation, the FBI, the Justice Department's Special Counsel, the Obama Administration and its Deep State intrusion into the security of this new administration.....is being met with just more mainstream media in denial, more spies, more inside manipulation of the truth and lies, in order to protect the power of the Left.]

So this morning, my spies are telling me a couple of things:

The first:  America is in the middle of perhaps the most gravely essential war in over a hundred years -- that being the Left warring and DIVIDING AMERICA into itty bitty parts....standing on the front lines and headlines, one front after another, against the very things that have made America exceptional, and in no uncertain terms, pretty great (BT: way, way, Before Trump).

The second:  The Left waging war against the half of Americans who legally, and ethically, and systematically voted for Trump, for reasons The Left will never respect, let alone understand.

Which brings me to my second Christmas wish -- that Santa brings President Trump a whole lotta foreknowledge.  Like huge.  Like, really big... Like, a lot.

All of this brings me to a little required reading for you today, a piece from Hillsdale College IMPRIMIS:  The Problem of Identity Politics and Its Solution by Matthew Continetti.

Continetti lays it all out there, as if he knows a thing or two; he goes big and broad, just as our founders did, and would probably do today; he looks to America's common threads and higher purpose, and not to the things which carry the potential to disconnect us -- as the Left has done -- causing factions to rise up, only to bring harm against the very nature of the whole, the whole of who we truly are as a country, as a people.

The Left has spies everywhere, in every class, from the elite of Hollywood and Media and Politics, all the way down to the less-affluent community organizers; and manufactured, the final product is the stuff that made Obama into the leftist god he is today.

But make no mistake: America --- in part or in whole --  has become enemy number one to The Left; according to their reindeer games and strategies the whole year through, America stands in the way of sugar plum dreams and globalist schemes. (...this day did begin on a fruitcake, doncha know)

So, on that note, allow me to close with the very same close from Continetti, quoting Abraham Lincoln:

"We are not enemies, but friends.  We must not be enemies.  Though passion may have strained it must not break our bonds of affection.  The mystic chords of memory, stretching from every battlefield and patriot grave to every living heart and hearthstone all over this broad land, will yet swell the chorus of the Union, when again touched, as surely they will be, by the better angels of our nature."
exactly.

And once again, THIS DAY, this G, goes full circle, taking a hold of each unique thread, each strand of pure intelligence, and then coming to a nice, tight, conclusive knot;  everything. and I mean everything,  comes back to "the better angels of our nature."  [In some circles, this is also widely recognized as a constant target and/or tool of leftist strategies far and wide (See also, Rules for Radicals).]

this day is about the beauty of threads that bind, not break; the threads that do not even resemble a broken candidate (like Roy Moore); the threads that together, infiltrate the enemy and return with knowledge, being the stuff required to strike and conquer, and achieve things
beyond the reach of ordinary men....
....revealing the truth of who we are as AMERICANS, living securely, under "a wise sovereign and good general," under God, and in the company of "the better angels of our nature."

(touche, day; well played)

Make it a Good Day, G

It's a Pledge of Allegiance Thing

Dear America,

"Society in every state is a blessing, but government, even in its best state, is but a necessary evil; in its worst state, an intolerable one; when we suffer, or are exposed to the same miseries by a government, which we might expect in a country without government, our calamity is heightened by reflecting that we furnish the means by which we suffer...For were the impulses of conscience clear, uniform, and irresistibly obeyed, man would need no other lawgiver; but that not being the case, he finds it necessary to surrender up a part of his property to furnish the means for the protection of the rest; and this he is induced to do by the same prudence which in every other case advises him out of two evils to choose the least."
Thomas Paine, Common Sense

published in January of 1776, Common Sense is credited for instilling the spirit of independence into the hearts and minds of an oppressed community -- the American colonists.

I just love the line, "[F]or were the impulses of conscience clear, uniform, and irresistibly obeyed, man would need no other lawgiver; but that not being the case...."

We have NFL players taking a knee during the national anthem precisely for such cause.

Humanity -- in every gender, race, creed, and astrological sign -- is human.  We err.

We err as a community; we err as individuals; we err as a nation; we err as a school board; we err as a football player; we err as a spectator; we err as a journalist; we err as a blogger and just a girl; we err as a president; we err as a church and as a state.  We err as a police officer in the line of duty and we err as members of a community whenever a crime is committed and/or a threat to life and limb is made.

Do we really need a rule to tell us what is the right thing to do?

Isn't there something inside us all that allows us to stop and listen to our heart -- be it an intuition, a feeling, a heeding of conscience, that ultimately steers us in making each and every choice we make all the live long day?

This kneeling thing -- the impulse to disrespect the spirit of unity and show of patriotism -- is seen as being either a revolting gesture against country, or a political stance with the strength and the will to tackle its leftist agenda, leaving no opposition standing.  Either way, it is an obscene crime against the solidarity and security of a nation.

And to think, the NFL Rule Book has rules on the improper use of language and gesture and behavior unfitting of a football player all through the game...a lot of them, too.

And to consider, according to the rules, both teams must be on the field ten minutes before the start of every game, quickly running up to the coin toss....which should come right about three minutes before the start of every game -- while the presenting of the colors to the national anthem is done during the official start.  The anthem is officially part of the official game.  Taking the proper gesture should be self-explanatory to every American citizen, and especially to the players taking the field under such pomp and circumstance and pageantry and production.

Common sense, alone, is sufficient to argue that upon this turf is of no time or place for divisive politics to usurp the moment for which she stands; for the purpose of the moment is to bring good sportsmanship, good character, and good gestures all together with certain, common intentions:  offering a peaceful salute to who we are as a nation.

How often did President Obama opine the words -- 'that is not who we are' -- and making a cut up the middle, immediately return the phrase to who we are, as a country, as Americans?   Let me tell you, it was often (as this girl continues the struggle to get him out of her head).

But why did he do that?  Because as humans, as Americans, sometimes a reminder as to who we are is needed; and not only needed -- it needs to be heeded, after certain postures seeded and individual ownership deeded, and with great courage greeted, genuinely and dutifully with each new day.

It takes work.  It takes reminders.  It takes second chances, and patience.  It takes forgiveness of the wrongful choices which have come before us -- choices made by other humans, of which we have no part, nor ever wish to have a part, if only by being a student of history and of life itself,  as we accept the past for what it is and what it teaches us, as we venture forward with great hope and every effort to make and meet the future a better place for us all.

Arms linked and all.

The thing is AMERICA is bigger than our differences of opinion, our divisive politics, and even the mainstream media (teehee).    America is bigger than Colin Kaepernick (no shock jock there); it is bigger than the owners and the coaches and the players and the stadiums full of spectators and Fox Sports and ESPN and NBC all together; roll them all up into a ball and let America have a go -- and just watch her kick that thing from here to kingdom come without so much as drop of sweat.

Hilarious, isn't it?  That the weekend game in London met with our players taking a knee during America's anthem, and yet they stood for God Save the Queen!   They take a stand for  England?  They stood for the commonwealth credited for the creation and operation of pure oppression in the masterminding of the slave trade -- and not for the country that spent a hundred years and a war trying to abolish it?  Know your history, boys; know your history.

Is America without fault?  No, she isn't.

But what is America, generation after generation?  How many people have come through her halls of justice and injustice, large and small?   Isn't she more than the choices people have made; isn't she bigger than that?  Or perhaps, better still --  is she, in fact, the culmination of the choices made -- year over year -- whether good, bad or indifferent?

America is a spirit -- an idea birthed 241 years ago -- coming from an age that defied oppression in every way, and in turn, becoming an exception to all other nations of the world, to date, in that time and place.  With firm reliance on Divine Providence, our humble founders fought for the creation of America, as they mutually pledged to each other: "our Lives, our Fortunes and our sacred Honor" when signing the Declaration of Independence.

Sigh.
Indeed.

Common Sense was written to stir up the impulses to revolutionize the colonies, becoming more oppressed under the rule of England with each new day.  Something had to be done.

Indeed.

America is a spirit expressing in each moment of the day.  Day after day.

In no small way, Thomas Paine was instrumental in creating change; and our founders took the ball and ran with it.

And while we have talked often about this subject many a day,  suffice it to say, that without rules in society, chaos would surely ensue.  Why?  Because we are human...from the imperfect and the grotesque to the bold  and the beautiful.

We have rules -- some even unspoken.

We have rules -- whether it be on the road, in church, in the classroom, in congress, while playing a game of football or Monopoly.  Rules assist in the keeping of order.  Otherwise, there would be disorder.

At the end of the day --  and at the beginning of every football game -- there is an unspoken rule to heed to the order of reverence to country.   And football players know exactly what they do when they kneel; it is pure disruption of the rules in play, whether it is written in the rule book or not.  It's as if these players are choosing to take a knee that they know equates to an act as obscene as calling America a foul name, as repulsive as making an offensive gesture in crude revelry.

[Kind a like this.  Of course, Beckham is a big boy and makes his own choices, but is that Beckham really being his very best on display?]

But make no mistake.  The kneel:  IT IS a political stance they take.  IT IS a political, ideological, and fundamental transformation of AMERICA that they seek, taking as many casualties as needed -- even if its the entire NFL and every Sunday from the Harvest Moon through the dark of winter.  And for better or worse, the outcome could prove revolutionary; only time will tell.

Welcome to the new world; an age when common non-sense reigns.

As we sit and make history, all choices we make now are relevant and in play.

“The man who refuses to judge, who neither agrees nor disagrees, who declares that there are no absolutes and believes that he escapes responsibility, is the man responsible for all the blood that is now spilled in the world. Reality is an absolute, existence is an absolute, a speck of dust is an absolute and so is a human life. Whether you live or die is an absolute. Whether you have a piece of bread or not, is an absolute. Whether you eat your bread or see it vanish into a looter's stomach, is an absolute.

There are two sides to every issue: one side is right and the other is wrong, but the middle is always evil. The man who is wrong still retains some respect for truth, if only by accepting the responsibility of choice. But the man in the middle is the knave who blanks out the truth in order to pretend that no choice or values exist, who is willing to sit out the course of any battle, willing to cash in on the blood of the innocent or to crawl on his belly to the guilty, who dispenses justice by condemning both the robber and the robbed to jail, who solves conflicts by ordering the thinker and the fool to meet each other halfway. In any compromise between food and poison, it is only death that can win. In any compromise between good and evil, it is only evil that can profit. In that transfusion of blood which drains the good to feed the evil, the compromise is the transmitting rubber tube.”
― Ayn Rand, Atlas Shrugged
absolutely.

My loyalties are to America -- what is best for the whole.

I pledge allegiance
to the flag,
of the United States of America,
and to the Republic for which it stands,
one Nation, under God,
indivisible,
with liberty and justice for all.

INDIVISIBLE is absolute.

Perhaps, if we were all angels, rules would prove unnecessary; laws would not be needed, let alone cry out to be heeded, that which precepts are regularly seeded, and individually deeded, into the hearts and minds of decent and good countrymen.  But that not being the case...We must remind each other how a nation of good character prevails; how a nation proves strong when indivisible, in person and in spirit, with both sides locked and aligned.

Make it a GOOD DAY, G!

It's No Present Like the Time Thing

Dear America,

"There's no present like the time."
The understatement on the day.
It's courtesy of Babul,
and just a line from...
The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel

during my usual Sunday ritual of listening to a wave of morning preachers one after the other, one of them pointed out what seemed to be something obvious -- and yet -- it wasn't.  He said that to worry is acting like a pagan, for where is thy faith if we sit and crumble under the pressure, consumed by the temporal fear of whatever is going on around us, or the things that may or may not ever be, as if God and All that God Is and All that God promises to believers, of the Life Everlasting and the Peace that Passes all Understanding, is in question.

exactly.

Where is thy faith?

In the midst of a world falling apart in the every day, reflecting upon this persistent conflict of reconciling and overcoming the things we witness on the outside with the things we know and believe on the inside becomes something of an acquired talent, over time really -- a magical feat against all odds, as the Ecclesiastic seasons come and go as they please.  [Of course, that would not be God's Odds, that would be human odds, complete with human limitations, and quickly parlaying into human results.]

And clearly, as it would seem to the naked eye anyway, some days are just easier than others to have this kind of certain faith, while other days, we are just plum lost.

The only way our world -- this world, the only world we have -- gets better, is upon each new day when each and every one of us awakes, we individually commit to being and doing our very best, as one human being to another.

That's it.

For we all know what being and doing our best looks like and most importantly, feels like; for no doubt, this integrity within ourselves and among our fellow man produces exactly this result -- we reap what we sow.  This is, in part, what our founder's called Nature's Law, and this natural, organic, systematic, charismatic, meta-physic equation of Judeo-Christian roots soon became part and parcel of the foundation upon which this Republic was made, without question. [Dare you to look into it.]

The Founder's counted upon the generations to continue to be not of little faith, but an all-encompassing, never to be separated, free-exercising public body of believers in the Divine.  For a faithful lot is a happy lot; a happy lot is a happy life; a happy life is a happy community and a country who lives and works and does good things in the pursuit of happiness for all the neighborhood, if not the entire world, to witness and enjoy...albeit, happily.

From my favorite book, The 5,000 Year Leap by W. Cleon Skousen,  "Benjamin Franklin Describes the Five Fundamentals of 'All Sound Religion' " --- stating the following,

"Here is my creed: I believe in one God, the Creator of the Universe.  That he governs it by his providence.  That he ought to be worshipped.  That the most acceptable service we render to him is in doing good to his other children.  That the soul of man is immortal, and will be treated with justice in another life respecting its conduct in this.  These I take to be the fundamental points in all sound religion."

and thus when Alexis de Tocqueville, of France, came upon America to visit, he made the following observation:

"I sought for the greatness and genius of America in her commodious harbors and her ample rivers, and it was not there; in her fertile fields and boundless prairies, and it was not there; in her rich mines and her vast world commerce, and it was not there.  Not until I went to the churches of America and heard her pulpits aflame with righteousness did I understand the secret of her genius and power.  America is great because she is good, and if America ever ceases to be good, America will cease to be great."
Indeed.  Our conduct counts, and ultimately it will be judged; but until that day, let's just agree to be good, for it makes things a whole lot easier and better and happier for the lot that is all of us.

The only Thing of this world that is Pure Good is God.

And without a faith in Something greater than ourselves, and moreover, Something that teaches us to be good,  the more America will find herself lost in every way and pretty much broken.

As long as we are all good to one another (and good encapsulating many different things -- respectful, honorable, kind, honest, loving...), each and every one of us could walk around with a gun in our back pocket and have no issues whatsoever.  As in none.

Just love Benjamin when he says, "[T]hat the most acceptable service we render to him is in doing good to his other children."

to his other children, Benjamin says.  oh and just how much love can one girl have in her heart for this fine specimen of a human being and founding father of this great country,.. oh how much love...it knows no bounds.

That the best we can be, "the most acceptable service is doing good to his other children" says it all, does it not?  Which is why it is so worthy of repeating over and over again and until we get it right and it's completely understood, because clearly, it isn't.  We must care for, and be good to, our fellow man, above all else, as we go about our day.  This is the time to "ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country," indeed! and thank you JFK and your inaugural address of  1961.

In summation, let's go to Sam Adams --

"The sum of all is, if we would most truly enjoy the gift of Heaven, let us become a virtuous people; then shall we both deserve and enjoy it.  While, on the other hand, if we are universally vicious and debauched in our manners, though the form of our Constitution carries the face of the most exalted freedom, we shall in reality be the most abject slaves."

All that we are now -- in America -- is a sum of all of our moving parts, all 330 million of us.  Whether we sit in the pit of worry, utterly silent, or whether we are loud and making our voices heard, marching, screaming, and telling all the world of the things that matter, or whether we chose to take the law into our own hands, all combined it is a lethal injection of a moral crime against humanity, against America herself.  Combined, we kill the best of whatever is yet to come for all us.  Combined it is a corruption of everything America is or ever will be, while only a virtuous society has the power to mend...with a little help from Heaven above and God's grace below.

--------------------------------
Now this girl is moving swiftly in another direction, and my hope is that it reconnects somewhere in the heart of things, but please, bear with me as I awkwardly acknowledge Trump's running mate -- officially announced just yesterday -- Mike Pence.  The announcement was delayed a day, given the news coming out of Europe, for France fell victim to another terrorist attack underneath a celebratory sky in Nice, an attack that killed 84 souls, and wounding hundreds more, if not thousands or millions even, if counting the broken hearts,  My prayers are with you all.

Now, Pence is a sound pick; my congratulations to the pair, and especially to Trump, as he makes his first sound decision in the matter of becoming the next president of the United States.  And in so acknowledging this new phase, it just so happens that today's sermon from Joel Osteen hit upon the message of the things God has in store for us -- On most days, we are unaware of the glory upon the horizon and just around the bend.   We must soldier onward and upward by right action and by our faith realizing that if  all is not well, then all is not done.  God has a plan for each one of us.

Osteen then told the story of Samuel anointing David as King.

As the story goes, to be found in 1 Samuel 16, Samuel had mistaken the Lord's wishes, allowing for his rather human prerequisites for the next leader to forsake him.  And finally, the Lord said to Samuel, "Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him.  The Lord does not  look at the things man looks at, Man looks at outward appearance, but the Lord at the heart."

For in this short verse, the yin and yang of the republican ticket  completes itself; the outside and the inside form together in a more perfect union of what the republican ticket should look like, sound like, act like, and hopefully be like when finally in office.  For better or worse, Trump seems to be the guy, and with great happiness, his other half will fill the requirements of the job!   How wonderful is that!

In translation, Pence is my David -- the choice helps me over the Trump hump with a sense of less panic, less worry, less holy crap what on earth is happening to America right now?!  Of course, I still have concerns; but concerns are healthy --  and a far cry from complete worry to the point of being stunned and unable to respond or act, frozen with fear,  Far cry.   and yet the tears keep coming, go figure...it's a conundrum.

-----------------------------
Someone once said there is no present like the time.

This is that time.  This is that day.

The present, when it presents itself to us in the every day, and within every minute of the day, has the power to change everything, for better or worse, for rich or for poor, in sickness and in health.

Pow, pow, pow pow pow!  Just like that, an Islamic extremist can plow down onlookers -- on the streets of beautiful Nice for a Bastille Day celebration -- in an horrific attack.

Poof!  Just like that,  Turkey can fall to an Islamic leader, possibly staging his own coup in order to justify a total, political, ideological sea change in the country.

Bang!  Just like that, three more police officers have been assassinated, this time in the streets of Baton Rouge.  Add that to the five others in the last ten days, in Dallas, and we have ourselves not only another hate crime, but have reached a moral decay of new lows in the ruthless attack upon our very own public servants.

And abracadabra! like magic, we can go forth to our faith, and pray --  asking for guidance, asking for how we can serve better, as one human being to another and another -- perhaps on our knees begging for mercy, healing, and forgiveness for the distance we have placed in society to the God we know and love.

today, this girl aches, sensing a pain never felt before, in all of my days...

the only thing that saves me, lifts me, makes me feel the entirety of this present moment all at once, is KNOWING, without a doubt,  there is a reason for this season in America.  Understanding we are being tested like never before, recognizing there is a God and this God is still in charge  -- of everything, mind you -- we must go forth in faith, a certain and mighty faith, unwavering.  Even when by all appearances, all may be lost -- it is not finished.

There is no present like the time.

Make it a Good Day, G

It's an Arab Spring, American Style, on the Catwalk Thing

Dear America,

dynamic

cut many things

cut so much your head will spin

nobody --  nobody on this stage that's done more for Israel

he's a liar

liar

liar

i will -- and i can tell you it will be 10 feet taller now

not going to have people dying on the streets

you'll have so many different plans

make America great again

Is this America's next president?  For real?

He says very little; and when he speaks, it comes out with an air of condescension, dribble, a finger pointing, personal attacks, and not a speck of substance.

Greatest line of the night was a tie:

"I watched you repeat
yourself five times just five seconds ago."
Rubio

and

"Can somebody attack me, please?"  Carson

so funny

Now, as soon as Cruz and Rubio figure out which one of them will settle for Vice President, we're golden, send in the crowns (wait. stop.  we don't make kings).

From there, Carson can be put in charge of Department of Health and Human Services, repeal Obamacare, and continue to do community outreach to heal, inspire, revive America from sea to shining sea.

And Trump -- he can start by building the "fucking wall"  and maybe even pay for it --- and when he's done, maybe dabble with commerce...job creation....and in all of his spare time in-between his need to tweet, he can make deals on trade...China...bringing companies and fortunes back to America; choosing to use only his strong suits to reform government, and leave his character flaws, his dirty laundry of adverse loyalties, and his worn out one-liners to explain his weak set of plans to lead an entire administration, in the closet.

And Kasich...well, let's just have him go back home, to Ohio, he does so well there, right.

One thing I DO NOT understand in this Day After the ugly, rather ignoble,  disgraceful affair aired in front of millions, is how The Drudge Report shows Trump having won that debate. It's like, huh?

You kooks have got to be kidding me.

If THAT performance is a win and shades of  GREAT things to come -- then I want NO piece of it, not even the lapel pin.

Trump did not win that debate.... unless of course, you are one of those followers who are simply blinded by the emperor's roar, his tower of babble, fully dazed by now from the shiny things that mesmerize and hypnotize and totally dismiss the things that matter.

This girl just isn't buying it; not seeing it either.

And even though I have said this before, I will say it again -- if push comes to shove, I will close my eyes and vote for Trump....please, Lord, don't make me.

At the very least, you can all be grateful this girl is not piling it on while in cahoots with Glenn Beck, right?

Can you even believe him?
Did you hear his latest?
NO, not that one, the other one...

“There is a storm coming of biblical proportions, a storm coming beyond your recognition,” The Blaze founder warned in a blog post on his personal website. “When the economy collapses, when our currency is worth toilet paper, who do you want, who do you want handling our nation? You want somebody who has divide us, who is grooming Brownshirts?”

having just crossed paths with a few of these "Brownshirts" and was so moved to characterize the Trump supporters as simply, “rude, vile, nasty.”

“I don’t want to say all of them. But there’s enough of them,” he added. “And the ones that I met that were nice, I don’t how you can stand in the same room with them. I don’t know if you look — how do you look at those people and say, ‘Wait a minute. That’s what my guy is encouraging.’”
so that's kinda funny, no?

In one breath he says he doesn't want to say "all of them," but in the next, he connects the dots and sews up the seams in such a way that completes the entire ensemble as one in the same.

Nice job, Glenn, nice job.

Did you happen to discover this displaced anger in the hamper alongside a lost smelly sock and pair of boxers?

This is so disturbing.

And by the way, just who's in charge of your wardrobe these days?  Sure -- it is neither here nor there about town -- but really, what's come over you?   Here's the Roosevelt shot.  And just love the intellectual, bow tied warrior mixing it up with the cowboy home on the range ....here.  One page, same guy, many different hats...
But it's this shift, this not so subtle sign of desperation in being behind YOUR GUY that has me befuddled.  For your approach to beating up and taking down the opposition is by taking the very same approach as the "rude vile nasty' Trump supporters, and even The Donald himself --  and that being, in a word, ridicule.

Makes me think that everybody's designer must be the same...

...oh darling, it's an Alinsky.

[Rules for Radicals, see Tactics, see also the Thirteenth Rule]

But of course.

Now isn't that rich and aren't we a pair.

Beck Beck Beck Beck Beck
Let's pull it together, man.

The only reason why we are here now is because the GOP in Congress did not do what they were asked to do by the voters!  They kissed the ass of the king -- over and over and over again -- bending over to every whim and fancy --  and so this is what we get.

THE PEOPLE HAVE NOT ONLY HAD ENOUGH, they are desperate for a change, leaving wide open the very conditions for another con against America to take place.

But the thing is -- the thing that is truly vile  -- is the lack of duty, to God and to country, run amuck within the walls of Congress.  The people elected a body of representatives to control the Obama Administration, to restrain the abuse of power, to repeal the abomination of Obamacare, and for all intents and purposes, redress the nation.   And what did we get for our money?

There was no restraint.

There was no reform.

There was no redress.

The irony, Glenn, is in the fact that both Cruz (your guy) and Rubio were well aware of all of this angst within the party.  Oh sure, they both left a mark -- but what a calamity of errors, design, and approach; it wasn't a good thing.  And therein lies the rub, rayon against polyester; nobody associated, or even remotely associated, with the establishment could make the grade.

The thing is,
it's too late.

It's all too late; spring has sprung and the new line is fresh for the taking.

Americans can't seem to get enough of it.  They don't even care what it costs.

Blame it on the emptiness inside -- the shallow, the weak, the disenfranchised, the spiritually broken, the unemployed,  the pissed, have come together to stand in line, "Brownshirts" and all; give credit to the Want of Winning over substance, as the hole was simply there.  It needed to be filled with something.

We can thank this hopeless hollow... this short-sighted desperate nature of desire to look good, feel good, and display greatness, at any cost, to an overwhelming decline in general.  As a culture, we are lost -- growing more and more insignificant around the world, having systematically diminished the importance of the pillars of character and substance over the latest fad, trends, memes, facebook posts, immediate gratification, opinions of millennial billionaires, ping ping ping...

Individually and collectively -- acts of diplomacy, large and small, don't stand a chance.

Trump may have the capacity to win in New York City, and even win the nomination for the GOP -- but then what?  His label will immediately be trashed from the left, from the media, for the opposition just waiting in the wings, crossing their fingers for the chance to have at it on the easy pickings...send in the critics.

What we are witnessing, really, is our own little Arab Spring, American Style, on the catwalk.  [think about it]

And it's UGLY.  Violating to the senses.  We are so depraved.

Having destroyed our true identity, having reduced the natural born wide appeal of generations to come for all the right reasons, we have done nothing more than cheapen the brand in every possible way known to man and back again.  Fashions repeat, don't you know.

Wake up Kmart shoppers, it's a blue light special...America is up for grabs.

Make it a good day, G
 Epiblog

you know, a long, long time ago -- little g was campaigning for a Trump/Christie ticket.
Granted, it was circa 2011, if my mind serves me well -- but now, having grown into myself just a wee bit since, it makes me cringe just thinking about it.  Makes me also wonder what else messed with my good senses...tee hee.   But times change, right.

But just maybe I was ahead of my own time -- sprung for a season too soon...

Which should make us all wonder..........is this a sign of next season's vibe.....would he take him under his west wing as VP?   stay tuned...time will tell.

It's a Day Angling to Tame a Tempestuous Summer Thing

Dear America,

dear dear america...

the summer recess, the tempest
...who knew?

Over the last few months -- beginning at the barbecue and ending with the first day of school (today! YAY!)  -- we've had a ruckus, riotous republican debate, a tenacious Trump Takeover of the conversation (all of them), a thoroughly corrupted, and catastrophically crumbling,  of the Clinton campaign -- complete with viable contenders just waiting for the nod (Biden/Warren), and now a stock market -- in free fall.

good times, eh?

Personally, my summer was all over the place.

My days were a lost cause and perpetually one glass of one from telling everyone what I really think ----- given up to a heavier work schedule, my girl home and never home all at the same time (ugh yeah, you figure it out...so tired), with no time to write, no time to myself, no space to percolate and opine on the thoughts of the day, all I could do was listen to my mind rattle, non-stop.  And boy, it was noisy.

Having said that, little old gthang was lucky enough to get a mini-vacation in Disneyland.  Truth be told, it was awfully hard to return.   I wanted to stay.  Perhaps forever.   Perhaps hiding out on Tom Sawyer's island, or better still, the Swiss Family Robinson tree house!  Frontier land take me away!

Which reminds me --

One of my favorite childhood memories was an evening in the Going Family station-wagon (circa 1972), overflowing with popcorn and giggles at the drive-in, and falling in love with the big screen while cultivating the itty bitty imagination just under the surface, and just beginning to settle in under the blankets and starlight, leaving imprints large and small for a lifetime of inspiration and budding ambitions.   Easily, my dream of living in a tree house was doable --  and upon my own private island even better; the family Swiss told me so and in no uncertain terms.

Wait a minute...

perhaps we need a refresher of some thoughts long, long ago.

THE GIVING TREE day, one of my best days, if I don't say so myself.  (And I did.)

America, the ever evocative Giving Tree -- inspires dreams far and wide.

And speaking of immigration --   Constitution, be damned; is that our final answer?  No.

How ironic -- this thing called a border -- but otherwise fully recognized, in a slimy, suspect, politically correct, raising baby-leftists kind of way, a sordid port of entry, come one, come all.   This border -- unnaturally becoming world renowned as a porous, lawless, senseless 2000 miles of imaginary lines, thereby allowing for unconscionable acts against the sovereignty of a nation that once prided itself upon the Rule of Law in which it supposedly stands.

Hold UP
Here's some BREAKING NEWS FROM THE BORDER (and considering my homestead being only a cool 45 minute coastal drive south to Mexico -- the San Ysidro border town is local news to me):

Courtesy of NPR, just August 20, 2015:

As of Wednesday, foreign pedestrians crossing into Mexico between San Diego and Tijuana are required to present a passport, fill out paperwork and, if they are staying for longer than one week, pay a 330-peso fee (about $20).

Oh really?

Hilarious, isn't it?

Carlos de la Fuente is quoted as saying:

"The way that people enter Mexico has been growing very disorganized, and now we are making it organized, that's the big difference."

Are we laughing, or what?

And yet, here's some fine print for you --    although this new law is great and is designed to coincide with the Mexican Law, it has it's limitations; it only applies to pedestrians; if you drive across the border, no questions, no paperwork, no fuss.

But let's not get lost in the details, shall we...

The thing is, how difficult would it be just to duplicate Mexican Law at this point?   What difference at this point does it make?  Whether following our own Immigration law, our Constitution, or Mexican Law --- let's just ask for all people crossing the border into America to physically stand in line and show a passport like everybody else.  The wait alone should curb many from even trying.

Oh wait.  Right.  We have a line.

Lines, spines, America has keines...none, zilch, nada, nil... (Und das ist alles nicht gut.   Exactly;  and what else would you expect from just a girl, her name is Gretchen?)

"[G]rowing very disorganized" he says.

Would just love to hear how would he characterize the free style border crossing going the other way? A Godsend?  perhaps...

Perhaps this is the money tree for which they come?   (Thank you Judicial Watch, data circa 2011)

Now, realizing I am swinging from branch to branch without the full capacity or energy to detail all that needs to be said (after all it is my first day back...), allow me to tie in just one more thing before I go;  let me just add this -- The Donald is growing on me.

So for your final read today,  here's a great article that might come close to explaining the phenomenon that is the tempest-in-campaign-mode who might just be the next American president...From WND, Kent G. Bailey Ph.D.:

Donald Trump is the prototypical, archetypal and testosterone-driven alpha male who rules by the sheer force of his personality, imposing physique, quick wit, mastery of repartee and almost hypnotic control over his gathering masses of adoring followers. He is Attila to the Huns, Henry V to the outnumbered English army, Winston Churchill to desperate allied forces, and now our fearless leader against the pagan forces of progressivism and political correctness. He is the unapologetic, quintessential warrior male of yore capable of vanquishing any and all opposition in his way.

And underneath it all,  just a boy with big dreams and a wild imagination and the ambition to climb the tree all the way to the top.  He must have seen the movie, Swiss Family Robinson, too.

Make it a Good Day, G

It's a Guts and Glory with Gusto is a Good Thing

Dear America,

you know that New York Post cover...
just a couple of days ago...
showing the President with a blindfold over his eyes,
poking fun at his inability to see the truth about Islamic Terror...this one....

"I just don't see it,"  it says in the caption.

We might as well have a NY Post cover made for every democrat, left-winged liberal, progressive -- whether a Senator, or Representative, or Governor, or Head of the DNC (Debbie Wasserman Schultz)  -- whether black or white -- whether man or woman --- the cover covers everyone and anyone who continues to stand behind this president with no doubt of his allegiance to America;  and the caption would read the same... "I just don't see it."

They just don't see it because they don't want to see it.

Barack Obama -- in his campaign(s) leading up to the presidency, in his actions as president, and no doubt, in his continued efforts in retirement to use his position of influence even further in hopes of fulfilling his father's dreams of  RE-organizing America  -- shows us a man (just a man...tirelessly clinging to ambitions larger than life, even larger than his own ego) in utter contempt of America's history every day.

This contempt runs deep -- having grown and been shaped and earnestly persuaded of a certain ideology throughout his childhood and young adulthood from multiple fronts:  his natural born father of Kenya, who he hardly knew really -- and the many influences of  Marxist, Communist, Socialist mentors and associations  (including his grandparents who raised him, his own mother's alliances, his pastor and mentor of 20 years, according to Obama himself -- Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Frank Marshall Davis , Rezko, Ayers, Khalidi, Rev. Pfleger...and Saul!  Who can forget Saul Alinsky!  Rules for Radicals lovers unite!  Hillary....you, too....stand up...don't be shy).

And for the most part -- his childhood (the most impressionable years of a person's growth) was not on the mainland of America, but Hawaii or Indonesia.  This is a huge detail, not to be dismissed as just G being crazy.   (For more back story:  READ THIS well researched post @American Thinker...dated October 30, 2008)

The background on Barack was all over the place before he was elected.

But the mainstream media was silent; the MSM -- refusing to vet the man fully and to this day, highly culpable to the fraud -- was just so love-struck, they might as well be on a cover, all of them, with blindfolds, with a caption "I just don't see it" written in red and smeared across the bottom of the page.  I mean, my gosh, given the rise of the first "articulate ...and clean" African-American (am I right, Joe?)...what's not to love?  It  was like getting a thrill all up and down the leg, huh, Chris Matthews?

America was ripe for the taking.

We fell hard.

Love-struck.

Even many of us on the right couldn't help but be excited of the thought of it.  It was contagious and bellowing up from our core, his approval appeared nearly unanimous.   America inhaled and now high on the loftiest of dreams, and ideals...... it was as if everyone's idea of an American president were being answered all at once.  boom.

We wanted Barack Obama to be The One, hence the pillars and surround sound following him wherever he went.

The media chose to sweep whatever suspect influences and alliances by association under the proverbial rug because it was time, it was worth it -- he was just what America needed.  And to be sure -- this African-American man who could speak (unbeknownst to us at the time, only by teleprompter) was going to fix race relations for the better, to be the end all of a long and brutal American history within the black community. With great hopes, we believed Obama was the fix for good.

I mean, honestly, people --  the American mainstream media -- can they really be trusted?  Really?  Brian Williams.

Now, thanks to people like Sharyl Attkisson -- we now know how transparent things really are under this administration and the lengths they will go to control the information and more important, control the media and their talking points.  Desperate times call for socialist measures.

But now we've taken a far left turn.......

What the hell do you think "WE ARE FIVE DAYS AWAY FROM FUNDAMENTAL TRANSFORMATION" truly means?    How many times have I had to embed that little youtube show of bravado?  Not doing it today. Just not going there.  If you want to hear it again, look it up yourself.

And what the hell...let's go here, too - - Michelle has made no apologies for saying this during the first campaign:

Really?
What, like change everything, Michelle, my belle?
Including  "change our traditions, our history?"

[And just gotta love that she's in Puerto Rico talking smack against America]

And just how do you alter a history?   Wow.  To promise to change American history as a campaign promise -- that's good.

[It's funny, isn't it?  It's not like Obama can change HIS history...IF Obama had a different history, perhaps more embed-ed with all things Americana, we would be able to find it.   But it's not there, is it.   And more important, he can't change it unless by means of deception.]

But let's keep going --
And to change our traditions, Michelle?

Why?
What the fucking hell?

Barack and Michelle are united in marriage and in their contempt for this country.  Otherwise, why would they feel a need to change our history (however absurd that sounds)  and our traditions with aplomb.

They both, in tandem and decidedly, hate what America stands for in every possible way.

I mean, come on --  Michelle was never proud of her country until hope springs eternal during the Obama campaign!   Seriously?

Now of course, with every new presidency,  and with each new administration, an air of confidence to bring forth a certain level of influence, leaving an imprint upon America, is a lofty and spirited and patriotic ambition.   I would assume, anyway.

Generally speaking, becoming president of the United States, and by default, leader of the free world, history begs for a contribution.  No doubt about it.

However, I'm pretty sure the joy of such a responsibility, chock full of umpteen possibilities, doesn't begin with a grudge -- a chip  -- a despise beyond intelligent reason -- and essentially, an inbred ignorance of how America got here in the first place.

The secrets of America's success leading to the founding of an exceptional nation, under God, and within the guidelines of a limited government, trusting of a system of checks and balances to keep the power of an overzealous government in check -- is of no interest to Him.

Obama grew up believing in community organizing to bring about change and government syncing with the community to bring about a radicalized  new America.  Little by little, nudge by nudge, systematically regulating the culture, business, schools, immigration, healthcare,  bureaucracy, media, a fundamental transformation of America within two terms becomes almost second nature over time -- and when he gets to his last two years -- when there are no campaigns left, right, Barack?  -- it's time to bring out a new tack....and it's something I like to call going for broke.

Which is what we are witnessing now.

This president is shunning Bibi Netanyahu and Israel while negotiating with Iran.  [um ah-hem... we are up against a deadline, March 24th]

This president is slamming Christianity while sheltering Muslims; and don't even get me started of how he can't even utter the truth about Islamic fundamentalists...President Barack "I just don't see it" Obama.   Making a connection between the deaths in the Middle East at the hands of radical Islamists because, you know, the Crusaders did the same thing...are you kidding me?

I mean, who can be surprised given how this presidency began -- running around like a chicken with his head cut off, apologizing to the Muslim world about America.

This president called the thirteen deaths at Fort Hood "workplace violence" for goodness sake.

This president ---  because he can't figure out how to close Gitmo, he is just releasing prisoners... just a few at a time....not to worry.

This president unilaterally changed immigration law, without a mandate and without congressional approval...And now, under this president, we are accepting refugees from Syria into America by the thousands.  Security?  Anyone?

This president fraudulently created another entitlement -- Obamacare -- lying to the American people about what it is, how it works, and ultimately upending one-sixth of this nation's economy.  This president created a burden so great, by design, it will lead to either Socialist medicine and a single-payer system for all OR it  will be the last straw....you know the one... the one that breaks America's back.  (And just look how it's burdening the federal bureaucracy already..).

This president is hellbent on destroying free enterprise, our cornerstone of wealth creation -- advocating for such things as a $15 dollar minimum wage!  ....recommended by a bureaucrat with no business experience.

This president claimed he was a big believer in "all of the above" energy policy -- but doesn't believe in the Keystone project?  Hammers out reckless regulations to the coal industry?   Nearly stops drilling for oil on federal property?  Liar, liar, pants on fire.

This president wants to take over the INTERNET!  Controlling commerce and free speech just for the politics.

I have to stop.

This president doesn't really love America the way America is intended to be.   He wants to.  He really wants to.  At least, he wants you to believe he wants to, anyway.   But truth is, that would be going against the anti-Colonialism -- and everything for which she stands -- fight running mighty strong and iron rich in his bloodstream.

He loves what he can do for America.

If he had his way, this president would have preferred to have been given a clean slate altogether -- to reorganize, remodel, and fundamentally remake America from her roots.

I don't know.

Of course, maybe you just don't see it.
There is that.

He is  smart, you know; and articulate...oooh weee, yes he is....and  highly educated......oooh wee, yes we can ........and clean......and how great is it that he is an African-American....finally.    And this guy knows what we, the people, need before we even know we need it.  It's truly amazing.

Perhaps, with any luck, the natural laws of oppression will catch up to us once again.

oh....almost forgot to say, go G, as in Guiliani.  Guts and Glory with Gusto is a Good Thing for America.

Make it a Good Day, G
