It's Leaning and Misleading and Leaving Nobody Behind Thing

Dear America,

...our president, appearing on Tuesday at the Red Cross headquarters.

And you know what they say -- as goes the president, so goes the G thing.

Now, if you happen to be a conservative, very little the president says anymore comes with any credibility; as a matter of fact, the usual response is a whole lot of skepticism, if not cynicism, if not a total gag reflex.

We want to give him the benefit of the doubt, but unfortunately, he lost that advantage somewhere between the apology tour and yesterday -- ah, what am I sayin', we might as well call it the entire last four years; somewhere between spending nearly a trillion dollars on nothing in the "shovel-ready" stimulus, and spending two trillion in shovel-worthy Obamacare, and adding six trillion shovel-fulls of debt --  he lost us.

But this?

"We are going to continue to push as hard as we can to make sure that power is up throughout the region.  And obviously, this is mostly a local responsibility, and the private utilities are going to have to lean forward, but we are doing everything we can to provide them additional resources so that we can expedite getting power up and running in many of these communities.

There are places like Newark, New Jersey, for example, where you’ve got 80, 90 percent of the people without power.  We can't have a situation where that lasts for days on end.  And so my instructions to the federal agency has been, do not figure out why we can't do something; I want you to figure out how we do something.  I want you to cut through red tape.  I want you to cut through bureaucracy.  There’s no excuse for inaction at this point.  I want every agency to lean forward and to make sure that we are getting the resources where they need -- where they're needed as quickly as possible."

I thought to myself, seriously?  aw no he di'nent...

That's quite a combo you threw out there; did you think of that on the fly, all by yourself?  Conjoining the MSNBC's "lean forward" all while making a direct contact with your own campaign slogan, simply  "FORWARD."  -- and magnificently conveying the message to a bevy of bureaucrats that there are "no excuses for inaction."

So like the president said, let's get moving more forward.  He immediately added this:

"So I want to repeat -- my message to the federal government:  No bureaucracy, no red tape.  Get resources where they're needed as fast as possible, as hard as possible, and for the duration, because the recovery process obviously in a place like New Jersey is going to take a significant amount of time.  The recovery process in a lower Manhattan is going to take a lot of time."
Not sure what he meant by "as hard as possible, and for the duration"  but for the sake of moving forward, let's continue.

He goes through a phase, liberally throwing 'resources' into his remarks left and right   --

"And part of what we’re trying to do here is also to see where are some resources that can be brought to bear that maybe traditionally are not used in these kind of disaster situations...There may be resources that we can bring to bear to help some of the private utilities get their personnel and their equipment in place more swiftly so that we can get power up and running as soon as possible..."

"So my message to the governors and the mayors and, through them, to the communities that have been hit so hard is that we are going to do everything we can to get resources to you and make sure that any unmet need that is identified, we are responding to it as quickly as possible."

[Brought to bear, bring to bear; potayto, potahto -- as the president  probably begins to think:  note to self:  may day...bring back the teleprompter... for me to be me but more betta]

And then, he suddenly arrives at a place sounding even more ridiculous:

"First of all, because our local law enforcement, our first responders are being swamped, to the extent that everybody can be out there looking out for their neighbors, especially older folks, I think that's really important.  If you’ve got a neighbor nearby, you’re not sure how they're handling a power outage, flooding, et cetera, go over, visit them, knock on their door, make sure that they're doing okay.  That can make a big difference.  The public can be the eyes and ears in terms of identifying unmet needs."  [yeah...."if you see something, say something" ]

But 'knock on their door?"
There is no door.

And more important, you left out puppies.

[oh a jaded G is so not attractive in the morning  -- indeed.]

Just after this,  he tries to go high, but falls, and at a rapid rate -- clocked at maybe 4 g's in a 2 g- zone.  It's like he's lost his magic  --

"The final message I’d just say is during the darkness of the storm, I think we also saw what’s brightest in America.  I think all of us obviously have been shocked by the force of Mother Nature as we watch it on television. "

If you can turn on the television.

If you still have a television.

But what's gotten into you?  You don't even sound right.

As he tries to save himself  -- and goes right into doing what he likes to do best, telling us a sweet story, as if we are all sitting around drinking beers together:

"One of my favorite stories is down in North Carolina, the Coast Guard going out to save a sinking ship[the HMS Bounty].  They sent a rescue swimmer out, and the rescue swimmer said, “Hi, I’m Dan.  I understand you guys need a ride.”
But the real stunner of his morning remarks was this -- and it's a doozy:

"This is a tough time for a lot of people -- millions of folks all across the Eastern Seaboard.  But America is tougher, and we’re tougher because we pull together.  We leave nobody behind.  We make sure that we respond as a nation and remind ourselves that whenever an American is in need, all of us stand together to make sure that we’re providing the help that's necessary.

YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!

How callous...

How unimaginable for you to choose that phrase...

How reckless of you ...in the wake of Benghazi, having lost our Ambassador and three other Americans in a terrorist attack, in a place where APPARENTLY we couldn't "respond as a nation;"  we didn't have enough information, we didn't have enough time, we didn't have enough RESOURCES in the area...according to you and according to your administration's clear lack of response.  In other words, YOU found way too many excuses, didn't you, Mr. President.

At the risk of repeating myself (but no matter, you do it all the time),  how WAY TOO SOON for you to be saying anything remotely close to the words "we leave nobody behind."  Just hearing it come out of your mouth makes me sick to my stomach.  FOR YOU KNOW as YOU KNEW THEN, as you know NOW absolutely everything you need to know  -- and coincidently, it just so happens to be equally as much as we all know now, too.  But the audacity, to say this in the wake of a father's plea?

This was the first response for Charles Woods, Tyrone's father  -- as he cried out to you and your administration asking, what the hell happened, what happened to leaving no man behind? We need answers...

As soon as the president said it, 'we leave nobody behind,' I felt this wave of emotion fall over me, instantly connecting my tears with Mr. Woods; I just couldn't believe what I was hearing.  We can't even call this a gaffe on the president's part; for a man thought of to be so intelligent, so thoughtful, so compassionate for his fellow brothers and sisters,  makes no mistakes -- this was a deliberate thought.  After being chastised for more than a month, almost entirely upon the one question as to how we could ever have 'left Benghazi behind' -- he knew better.  But his Excellency, his Arrogance, doubled-down and purposely walked right into it as if to say, 'bring it on, Mr. Woods.'

At the end of his formal remarks, we get a "Thank you very much, everybody.  Thank you, Red Cross."

After one of the worst natural disasters we've seen hit the Eastern Shore ever, we get NO God bless you, NO God bless the United States of America, NO Under God of any kind -- all is quiet on the aftermath front in affirming Something of the Divine.

Closest thing we get to that notion is buried into the second sentence, of the third paragraph, when he says: "Our thoughts and prayers go out to all the families who have lost loved ones."  And boy is it fleeting, if you blink you miss it as he quickly moves into the heartbreak and devastation.

Again, going back to just yesterday, or was it the blog before that -- who knows,  who cares, as they seem to be running together -- but what is with this change over you?  Striking differences of attack are noticeable -- considering you ran off to Vegas immediately after the terrorist attack in Benghazi!  And Lord knows what else was in store for us in the Middle East...you did say we didn't have enough information..that, among other things [like starting with a V].

But you thought about it and made a snap decision:  the campaign took top priority, with public perception on Benghazi and American safety abroad coming in second.

I guess, hindsight being what it is -- it became a teachable moment for you going into the Sandy affair.  You got to Florida the night before for the campaign run knowing it was gonna blow something fierce up north and by morning light, you saw the light, and flew home as fast as you could.  Well, you didn't; thanks to the American taxpayers, Air Force One took care of that.  good skills, good skills.

And doncha just love our un-biased media through all of this.

Here's a headline from this morning, highlighting yesterdays events: "Obama visits storm victims while Romney campaigns."

Wrong again. And how misleading.

He showed up at a community organized event on behalf of the storm victims to assist in the gathering of donations.  He didn't make any speech; he merely offered some words from the sidelines in appreciation of the community spirit surrounding  him.  It was supposed to be a campaign stump, true -- but it quickly evolved into a mission.   Anyone who has a problem with that needs their head examined.

And let us not forget, the president is simply doing what he is supposed to be doing.   For the next few days, he's a walking paid announcement --  totally endorsed by himself, for himself, and approving his message every step of the way -- somebody might as well tape a FORWARD placard to his back... without him knowing it, of course.

Make it a Good Day, G

  1. Mr. President, where was your aggressive Leaning Forward to protect the life of our Ambassador and three matyrd security guards? NOT A WORD FROM YOU! You could not buck your ideological bias toward your ring fingered Muslim 'brothers in the hood'. Just as in Egypt, you have have now handed Libya, over Islamic Jihadic Terror, and you we're blinded by liberal ideology that having gifted them Libya, that would not protect your personal representative, you felt it insult to your trust in the terrorists to impose a protective shield around your Ambassodor, so you ordered a stand down of forces ready to launch or had others do it, fact: there was no security provided.
