It's a Conference Call to the GOP on Line One...and It's a G-Thing

Dear America,

if keeping track...this is my third wish:

Let G be in charge of the GOP for one day [see also More Men Like Thoreau DayGet America to Go All In Day]

At the 9am wake up call to all party members -- especially those in the enviable position to have a soapbox to actually stand on-- I would hammer out a multitude of things to do and not to do. 

Beginning with reminding all live bodies on the other end of the line, you are, each and every one of you, destined to be a part of greatness and to be fully accountable for the rightful return of property, and sanity, to America.   If you aren't courageous enough to handle the heat, just hang up now and keep your mouth shut from this day forward. But for the rest of you, 'be calm and carry on;'  and let's do this!

------ and then I would address the following points of light and love and liberty  (and understand, these things are not in any particular order; it's just allowing the spitfire of  my thoughts to just go...is this a great country, or what)  --------

I would stifle ALL self-inflicted attacks bearing wounds the size of eternity in the lifespan of a typical news day -- meaning, with regards to what Bobby Jindal did yesterday, or the day before -- it would not be allowed.

Sure, it is a free country, he can say what he wants, think what he wants -- but when it comes to being All In for the party, like the libs do, we totally fail making the mark on this time and time again. Romney was articulating a real and clear and present danger about the growing change in attitudes and expectations to ENTITLEMENT in this country; he wasn't talking about leaving anyone OUT, as far as attracting the potential electorate.  [Think of it this way, Jindal, and anyone else who doesn't understand the difference -- an alcoholic must first recognize they are one in order to start the appropriate treatment.]

The second half of this rule falls into an age old adage "if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all."   Even as we are told we are at war with ourselves, from across the pond and back, we must PROTECT our own -- end of story.  Find something positive to say, use a diversion tactic like the democrats to change the question, if you don't like it... or just say something to the effect of 'you will have to ask him what he means by that'....  and finally, in the last resort option, pull a Gingrich and just find a clever way to remind the left-brain propaganda stream how much they suck.

But heavens to Murgatroyde -- opting to just go out on that soapbox, of your own free will, and demonize a fair observation of your own guy?  are you kidding me?  [yes, you got that right -- there is no way Jindal is getting a gift from me this year; what, pray-tell, gave it away?]

[AND ANOTHER THING!  Just how quick are we to jump ship on Team Mitt?  we are pathetic, people, just pathetic...[talking not just to Jindal now, but to you Dick Morris dot com, and to you Bill Kristol, and to you ...]
And along this line but from a different angle -- given the close proximity to the election itself -- we must also tag the idiocy of people like Todd Akin.   He may very well be entitled to his own beliefs, but when his beliefs make the rest of us look like extremists and nincompoops, potentially just weeks before the biggest changing of the guard ever,  it would be a good time to spot check the rhetoric.

But when it comes to party convictions, principles, being the party touting everything conservative, we must not hold back.   We  simply CANNOT be led by the media to do a total about face on the guy WE CHOSE! to be the face and agenda for our own side.   Why are we so weak,  letting them be strong?  seriously?  I am beginning to think the GOP is made of clay;  or maybe it's quicksand...or sticks and stones?  What does it matter when it all ends up looking the same?  We turn to mush, allowing the left leaning media, the talking points of progressives, the attacks of the entire Left, control our every move and our message.

Let's open up the line to add this simple 'note to self' from an outside source, Keith Koffler; it's plucked from his piece in Politico today, All you need is love...

huh rah. thank you, Keith.

It just seems like all of a sudden we, of the GOP, have lost the constitution to stand up for the kind of government we want to have.   Which is ripe for irony, isn't it,  given the party's inherent level of appreciation and respect for this country's guiding principles,  as prescribed in our Constitution!


So real quick now, let's hit a few easy-peezy solutions:
  • replace the guy who sounds like he's got a problem, John Boehner, and admit him into treatment.
  • use the advantage Obamacare, to Negotiate!  It isn't even fully implemented yet and it's already giving businesses, large and small, a heart attack.  THIS is a real and tangible tool, dude.  Use it!  
  • let the president lead on the Fiscal Cliff.  He says he has a plan, has all the right answers, make him lead with it; the art of negotiation is keeping your mouth shut until the other side spells it all out.
  • BUSH tax cuts have worked; look it up!
  • blanket amnesty is not the answer...we've tried that -- legislate an e-verify system and secure the border.  boom.
  • remind the African-Americans and Hispanic Americans that the unemployment rate within their demographic has only gone up since the 60's -- just how has the democrat party worked for you? honestly,  ask yourself that question and be brave enough to hear the answer.
  • designate the Department of  Education as unconstitutional; it is a propaganda stream, indoctrinating our children into the liberal mindset, thereby disenfranchising half of all Americans who believe in conservative ideals for the love of country.
  • open up offices for outreach in the barrios, inner-cities, college campuses, from sea to shining sea starting yesterday.
go spitfire go.

G got lucky last night and had a chance to listen to Mark Levin [his radio show lands right smack dab in the middle of the evening when it's more important to catch up with my girl].  Since I find him still lingering inside my head, allow me to highlight a couple of his thoughts before we move on dot org to the rest of our day:

"It's hard to find a leader in the mush, isn't it, folks?"

preachin' to the choir, Mark, preachin' to the choir [and I thought 'mush' was my line].

"RUN with Liberty! and fight to the death." 
or something like that...

Last thing:  leave Mitt alone.  It's not Mitt's fault, so cease and desist making him the scapegoat long after the unbearable loss; stop looking back to whatever it is we wudda, shudda, cudda done to change the outcome.  Grow up.  Mitt turned out to be our best shot.   But this -- this monday morning quarterbacking of a failed strategy -- this just shoots our own foot every time.   And the unintended consequences of this behavior?  The Left not only eats it up -- it profits by it.  Matter of fact, it can survive off of it from here to kingdom come,  making a pretty good living off of it to boot.

The entire party is responsible, and from this point forward, let it be understood that it is 'all for one and one for all' from here on out.  Be kind and compassionate and open always; be firm and steady and courageous when you must; be principled, without attitude; be a symbol of conviction, without arrogance; stand confident with the pillars of truth crafted for every AMERICAN and teach it, live by it, believe in it with your whole heart, never falter.

It's not over; it's never done.  The duty of being the caretaker of the greatest nation on Earth calls for us to wake up and repeat in the every day.  Sure, we have evolved -- it would seem keeping our virtues is no longer cool, and likewise, self-reliance is, and out of the blue, totally over-rated.   So GOP'ers, if you are looking for easy, you, too,  are in the wrong country. 

If there is nothing more you take away from this conference call, it is this:  put the scissors down and run for liberty in free abandon.  The truth is, it's a lifelong marathon for all generations to come; get yourself a good pair of shoes, stock up on Gatorade, eat your Wheaties, stop being stupid, and run with joy, GOP, run with joy.

It's a Night to Remember but Not Surrender Thing

Dear America,

so i guess we went with tyranny...good to know.

It's a new day in America, indeed.

Here's some local flavor for you, not that any of you really care -- San Diego elected Bob Filner... a lying, sleazy, dirtbag of a politician and democrat.... for Mayor;  Governor Brown's Prop 30 Tax "for the children" passed; a huge corporate tax increase passed; residents of the city of San Diego also get a property tax increase -- so just in case you haven't been keeping up:  It's tax increases in sales, income and property all up on the day...while the market this morning, oh it's down, beginning with 130 points only twenty minutes into the day.

SO let me get this straight, America -- we have just spent the last four years hating everything Washington is about -- the division, the partisanship, the arrogance over the governed, the cost, the expanse, the growth of entitlement not keeping up with the duty.........and what did we just do?   Ask for more?

Nothing in Washington has changed.  Nothing.

But perhaps more important, we should be asking ourselves what exactly has changed?

I heard from one of my liberal friends in an email -- sent last night right after the big progressive take down -- and he said it's the GOP that has the issues, it's the GOP that has the problem. it's the GOP that doesn't recognize the new America, the new reality, the new normal, the new "demographics". .. Which is truly rich when I also add that he immigrated from India; he got his education here, enjoys his corporate job here, is surrounded by his whole family, who all immigrated here -- except, of course, his beautiful, darling daughter  -- who was lucky enough to be born here.

And all I wanted to do was reach through the world wide web and shake him!

[and how offensive really -- I would never tell my friend he has to change his ideology so that we can all get along...I mean, seriously?  really?  it's up to the GOP, and conservatives far and wide, to change 200 years of operation going against every fiber of our being? really?]

Earth to ALL Americans -- and especially to my good friend, and especially to those who choose to come here......America has always been a country of IMMIGRANTS; that is who we are!  The very idea of it -- the folklore of America being the "melting pot" -- it isn't some kind of sweet sentiment made up for the history books; it's a real thing!

True story:  Once upon a time, America was designed from it's inception to melt into one body, one culture, one nation.  And we all lived happily ever after.

We must fight for the one and only demographic that truly matters here -- American -- that's it.  Yes, the revolutionary war was hard; but ironically, it's the keeping of the republic that will have to endure the longest, greatest battle.  And I got news for you:  this fight will never be over as long as this planet continues to produce humanity and the immeasurable weaknesses and faults that come with it.

When it comes to immigration, my good friend and his family did everything right -- they are a strong family unit, they are people of faith, they work hard, pay taxes, give back to those in need.  They are a caring, loving, thoughtful family who came to America on a path of opportunity, education and ultimately, a citizenship.  They are exemplary in every way;  I truly believe they are genuinely proud to be Americans, because it shows.

The question we should be asking ourselves is what exactly has changed in the caliber  and intention of the immigrant of yesteryear, as compared to the immigrant of today?  What we should be wondering is why the democrats continue to win elections by a divide and conquer agenda, pitting one demographic against another, on purpose, for power?

THE GOP does not need to change -- how absurd!   These days, it's as close as we get to the principles set forth by our founders.  While it's ideology  -- which seems greatly misunderstood upon morning light -- is not about what separates us, it's about what unites. It's about smaller government, and the individual having more freedom and personal power, not less.

THE GOP is about big ideas, not petty differences staged by demographics and placards and binders and big bird --  forcing the have's against the have not's, and audaciously punishing the job creators while rewarding mediocrity and entitlement.

Once the aftershock wears off from last night, what this tells me is we... as a whole ...and not just the GOP -- have work to do as a country.

Contrary to the recommendations of my well-meaning friend, the GOP has their work cut out for them NOT in the changing of who we are and what we stand for, but in living the example; for we can credit the conservative foundation being responsible for creating the very conditions for prosperity and happiness for the most people, leading generations into wealth, property, and security.

America's future rests in it's ability to remind the electorate what one body working in unison for the betterment of the whole really looks like, acts like, moves like.

So with this newfound president, the one who really, really intends to work across the aisle now -- is he really planning on coming to meet the GOP in the middle -- or like my friend believes, does this just embolden him to force the GOP to change?   Why does it always seem like in order to find a compromise with the left  it just means that the right must bend over?

Is the president planning on resurrecting the Keystone Pipeline?
Do the coal miners in Pennsylvania get to keep their jobs?
Are defense contractor jobs in Virginia safe for another four more years?
Will Jeeps still be made in Toledo?

When do we find out the truth in Benghazi, considering this president was buoyed to re-election on make-believe context, lies and videotape?

I wonder what Bibi thinks about this brand new day?

Will the president finally return to the recommendations of his Fiscal Commission from Bowles/Simpson?

Hmmm I wonder what we, the people, will think about Obamacare in the year 2014 when all the requirements kick in?

I wonder if he will continue using Executive Order, sidestepping congress, to effect change?

Will we ever see welfare entitlement reformed?  Will our unfunded liabilities totaling trillions of dollars -- the Medicare/Medicaid and the Social Security ponzi scheme --  be saved from bankruptcy?  If Obama added six trillion in debt in four years, just what will he add in eight?

So how much is enough -- in taxes?   Will the IRS be fixed, will we simplify the tax code?

Will the president finally let ALL children have school choice -- prioritizing a child's education over the unions?

Oh so many questions, so little time.

Since we seem to be at war with ourselves, let me plug a favorite line from Winston Churchill --

"Socialism is 
a philosophy of failure,

From the president's acceptance speech:

"What makes America exceptional are the bonds that hold together the most diverse nation on earth.

The belief that our destiny is shared; that this country only works when we accept certain obligations to one another and to future generations.  The freedom which so many Americans have fought for and died for come with responsibilities as well as rights.

And among those are love and charity and duty and patriotism.  That's what makes America great."
 

I ask the president -- do you understand what you just said and more important, truly believe it, embrace it, to the extent that you can teach the American people to fully embrace it too?

The president talked for twenty minutes last night.  It all sounded pretty good.

Here's more:

"America, I believe we can build on the progress we've made and continue to fight for new jobs and new opportunity and new security for the middle class.  I believe we can keep the promise of our founders, the idea that if you're willing to work hard, it doesn't matter who you are or where you come from or what you look like or where you love.  It doesn't matter whether you're black or white or Hispanic or Asian or Native American or young or old or rich or poor, able, disabled, gay or straight, you can make it here in America if you're willing to try.

I believe we can seize this future together because we are not as divided as our politics suggests.  We're not as cynical as the pundits believe.  We are greater than the sum of our individual ambitions, and we remain more than a collection of red states and blue states.  We are and forever will be the United States of America."
Isn't this is how you came into office four years ago?

Earth to a president without a people's mandate -- when you say

I have a hard time believing you.
Do you even know what this means, or is this just what you say when it is written on your teleprompter?  

Oh right...

You do amaze me,  keeping the promise of our founders.... THAT is a good one. 
You are a so-called expert on the Constitution, while you have governed in every which way to Sunday against it ....as you stand there... accepting another four years to bring whatever is left of it to utter ruin -- and you say,  "I believe we can keep the promise of our founders?"  with a straight face....wow, you are good, you are good.

And telling people "if you are willing to work hard...."  seriously?   You don't really believe that, either.
"It doesn't matter whether you're black or white or Hispanic or Asian or Native American or young or old or rich or poor, able, disabled, gay or straight, you can make it here in America if you're willing to try."

You're right, it doesn't matter; so why on earth do you govern like it does?   And worse, how can you use people by demographic, enticing them by false promises, character assassination of your opponent, and a false sense of security in a government that runs counter-productive to creating a healthy, wealthy, happy life all along?

No, Mr. President, unless you are living in your own little bubble, we are "as divided as our politics suggests."   And it's NOT out of racism or bigotry or a prejudice we were born with -- it's because the divide is a giant chasm.  It's an American-style abyss that has no end and has turned us against each other because of our bi-polar visions for America.  Our founders must be rolling over in their graves wondering what in the world has happened to us.

True friends tell each other the truth.   True countrymen who truly want what is best for ALL countrymen stand firm in self-reliance, affirming limited government and the full measure of unlimited freedom in the individual, and the unwavering belief in the Divine Providence that made us; that's what our homegrown politics suggests, and that's what this is all about.  And that's why the GOP -- conservatives, tea party,  republicans -- will not change and should not have to!  If anything, we can see our shortcomings and know exactly where we need to be stronger.

It's called being a patriot in the year 2012. 

And the funny thing is -- when listening to our president, one would think he is a conservative, too, with the way he sounds, with the words he chooses, with the multitude of American principles in which he preaches.

This is a sad day in American history.  My heart aches for each and every one of us living in this fraudulent American dream.    It's become a sham; every living, breathing, organized, hard-working detail of our life has suddenly met with chaos.   What was up, is down; what is right, is wrong.

The biggest fraud is the relationship between the democratic party and the "demographics"  drawn to it.  What does the party  really do for the African-American, the Hispanic, the down-trodden?  If anything, the party that breeds capitalists and money makers and entrepreneurs.... the party that embraces family values and faith.... the party that believes in the words of our Constitution and Declaration of Independence through and through....the party that was created by the anti-slavery activists of yesteryear, for Pete's sake! -- is of no relation to the democratic party.   It's grand; it goes way back -- and it's got a name, the Grand Old Party.   

And those of us in it will fight for our right to believe in it.  We have rights, too; we have freedom of speech too; we have our religion, too.

But let's get back to where this all began in this day in the life in America -- it's the body demographic that needs to recognize how THEY have let America down; it is the body demographic that is choosing not to melt into one [which is funny, given their position on global warming]. 

But don't take it from me, little g -- even the president agrees:

"The freedom which so many Americans have fought for and died for come with responsibilities as well as rights.

And among those are love and charity and duty and patriotism.  That's what makes America great."

About last night:   It's a night to remember but not surrender, that is an absolute.

We, Americans, sign on to a lifelong duty to America first -- whether we are born here or choose to come here looking for a better life.  America was designed to melt into one body, one culture, one nation under God.  It's the American culture that needs a course correction, not the GOP, not the conservatives.  And we will be happy to talk about it with any liberal all the live long day.  [But more on that in the days to come]

It's for the Love of Country Thing

It's Sunday in America...and we are anxiously awaiting the next 48 hours.

If I only had one sentence to sum things up, it would be this: America is about to choose between liberty and tyranny.

And just the idea of it, the magnitude, gives me a headache.  

no really, and it's a real humdinger, too....

San Diego is sitting under a high pressure system, it's warm and dry and on the verge of another Santa Ana  --- so initially, it is easy to blame my condition more upon the weather.   But after speaking with my mama -- when the two of us quickly factored in the realities of the high pressure conditions of the election --  we've arrived at the assumption the entire country is probably popping the Tylenol, the Advil, the Bayer, the Aleve at this point...whatever fits your fancy.  And isn't it just marvelous how we have so many over-the-counter drugs of choice...remember when we just had aspirin?  Personally, my vice is just loads of caffeine, straight up...and if I could take it intravenously, I would.

So on both counts, allow me to turn our attention to something that perfectly suits the moment.  From Mark Levin's, Liberty and Tyranny By Levin, Mark R. (Google Affiliate Ad) --  he asserts a few "anthropological realities" of man:

"In nature, man's progenitors were almost never the fastest, strongest, most agile, deadliest, or toughest creatures in any situation.  Moreover, man had little in the way of innate protections against climate extremes and naturally occurring threats to his existence.  What differentiated man from the rest of the animal kingdom as, in part, his ability to adapt his behavior to overcome weaknesses and better master his circumstances."

Of course, Levin continues here, directing the sound argument in favor of personal property -- recognizing the acquisition, possession, and profiteering through what is considered 'property' is "endemic to human nature and survival," and generally speaking, this one thing tremendously improves the quality of life.

In addition, as human beings, we are given the necessary intelligence to learn from our past, recognize our mistakes, fix the errors of our ways, and thereby use this natural intelligence to strengthen our communities, pop a pill to relieve ourselves of a nasty migraine...and every four years, we get to change our minds and ultimately effect the direction of the entire nation.   It all boils down to an "anthropological reality" -- man's "ability to adapt" to "overcome weaknesses" and "better master his circumstances."

Levin intelligently, and methodically, concentrates on the differences between "originalists" -- those of us fully supportive of the Constitution, and the "statists" -- those who fully support it's destruction.  And if you allow me to linger on this for just a moment longer, let me share one more thing from L and T:

"[the statist, Cass Sunstein's "realism" ]...He creates the false choice between anarchy (where there are no laws protecting the individual, private property, and contracts) and tyranny (where the sovereign alone arbitrarily grants fundamental rights, including property rights).  Having declared the sovereign paramount to God and nature, and having delinked liberty from the property, the individual must rely on the government for his sustenance.  Of course, history shows that man will starve and freeze if he relies on the government for his sustenance -- and surrender his liberty as well."
Here's something more on that --

Wish we had time to compare Hungarians -- between a Thomas Peterffy and a George Soros (Schwartz, as they say, back in the homeland).  But, in consideration of time and space and the migraine, we'll have to save that for another day, another two cents.

Socialism, Marxism, Statism... the Redistribution of Wealth -- property, liberty, independence.... is not what we do, Mr. President.   And history proves, it does not work.  America -- and everything she stands for -- simply cannot survive in liberty with a boot to the neck on self-reliance, personal responsibility and duty, invention, innovation, property acquisition, income, expansion and abundance of every kind. 



Words from a locker room earlier today:
"I mentioned before the game that you guys were living in vision, and you weren't living in circumstances," Pagano said.
"Because you know where they had us in the beginning -- every last one of them. But you refused to live in circumstances, and you decided consciously, as a team and as a family, to live in a vision. And that's why you bring things home like you brought things home today. That's why you're already champions, and well on your way.
"I've got circumstances -- you guys understand it, and I understand it. It's already beat. And my vision that I'm living is to see two more daughters get married, dance at their weddings, and then hoist that Lombardi [Trophy] several times.
"I'm dancing at two more weddings, and we're hoisting that trophy together, men."

How's that for a little inspiration?  It's via Coach Chuck Pagano, of the Indianopolis Colts --  who happens to be living with Leukemia, with every intention on decimating it, and going on to dance at two more weddings.

The differences between the two candidates are many; how anyone is still "undecided" is beyond me.

But coincidently [and unintentionally highlighting how the silly ramblings of my migraine mind works] Pagano quite possibly best describes the mindset of the two realities before us:
  •  one candidate is stuck on circumstances...what got us there, who got us there, and how buried we are, as a whole, by them -- and to that end, just how much more THIS government needs, wants, four more years to fix it; 
  • while the other, stands with firm reliance on our founder's vision for America, and celebrates the greater good and the wealth of vision inside each and every one of us to work together to decimate debt, eliminate regulations that bind, cut through bureaucracy and get to the other side -- a place where wealth, property, abundance, security, peace, happiness lives -- a place where hard work and business and duty and risk taking is cherished, if not totally, unapologetically rewarded.

It's called living in the vision, not our circumstances.

It's called bucking up and doing our part -- sharing in the responsibility and duty to care for America as a team.

It's called self-reliance, individually and collectively, with all of us wearing the same colors.

The mantra from Obama continues to champion the same old line, "everybody needs to play by the same rules."   

Indeed, Mr. President, indeed.
For that is the precise framework of our founders; 'playing by the same rules' was the lens through which our future was made in the day to day, by all walks of life, equally walking in the vision in the pursuit of happiness and the American Dream.  This kind of vision was seen clear around to the other side of the world, it was so strong -- and likewise, it attracted the whole world to our shores.

It's the difference between INDEPENDENCE and dependency.  
It's the difference between liberty and tyranny.
This is a vote for the LOVE of Country, folks.  It's just that big.  [Or  -- ew -- is your vote the best revenge?]

And fancy that and imagine my surprise,  my headache is gone.  and kudos to the cathartic process of writing all  our fears and insecurities down on blog.

Oh, and just before parting ways for the day.... and just cuz I would hate to lead you on....this post is going in the "likely" column -- meaning, it's projected to be my last entry until the day after the election.  Having said that, some inside polling begs to differ, and makes it appear more like a "toss up"  -- but it's really hard to tell.  It's just that close...

It's Time for a Re-Write to Make Things Right

Dear America,

so you know, Joe Biden is still just a heartbeat away from being our president.

now if that doesn't freak anybody else out, then by golly, I am blogging in Florida.

What is with this guy?  He can't even remember where he is...again.

But keeping things real here in G land, this is just my lede into admitting my own horrific error --

you know that sinking feeling when you realize you got a name totally botched?  yeah, well it kicks up a notch or two when you actually have it in writing.   Me, Myself, And I, did just that. Two days ago, and I don't even know how it happened...

...and just when I thought things were really beginning to hum along, too.


So -- my apologies to the father of Tyrone Woods, Charles, and to the rest of my twelve readers on the day.  [I feel like joe, what just happened?   Somehow or other the name became Brown,  instead of Woods, and I am simply beside myself with embarrassment over it...I consider it a huge mistake and it lingered out there for nearly 48 hours until my inner workings of my mind pushed me to follow up on my sense that something was left not quite right...]

You know what it feels like?  It feels like I had spinach stuck between my teeth for two days and I'm just rolling along, smiling, waving hi to everybody...when all this time...I mean, couldn't just one of you of said something, like yo to the stupid girl, you totally screwed up here...

But  allow me steal a phrase from the president ---

let me be clear --

I hate being wrong about anything; I live to get things right in this little day in the life in America, every day....I mean, my goodness, my humongous reputation is at stake, right?   One day, millions of people might read me.    Oh, you doubt?  Yeah, good one, but not talking about the millions...referring to my love to be right.   Just ask my mama how much I love being right....but expect an ear full...yeah, she'll lay it out, alright, and over a few days if you let her... oh, you get it now.

So here's an opinion to start our weekend off on the right foot:

I think Obama's going down.

I think the polls are off; I think Romney will not only win, but he will win with an overwhelming mandate for change.    The RIGHT, just in case anyone hasn't noticed,  is freaking excited!  This is it, folks, we are down to spending the entire weekend and into Monday night, eating pizza and watching football -- and then we vote!   We can do this!  We can do this!

Aw but doncha love how Obama is out there, yesterday in Vegas, and all the press can talk about is how the guy has all of a sudden stopped sounding juvenile, petty, and small-minded about his opponent.   Yeah, according to the great pool of unbiased journalists that follow him around like a puppy dog, the president is  looking presidential, sounding presidential, oozing presidential -- and reacting to this as if they haven't seen it in years.  Oh, you doubt?  Then read this e pluribus unum example:  Obama hits final stretch with message of gravitas...

Shouldn't we expect our president to be presidential round the clock, 24/7, and dare I say, for a full term?

maybe it's just me...

So Obama is spinning the measly 171,000 jobs as a sign  --  that we are heading in the right direction.  True, if that direction looks like this:



And ROMNEY -- once the businessman, always the businessman, he's lamenting the deep dark truth of the matter and stands firm knowing better.  Obama sees hope; ROMNEY sees standstill.   For more news you can use, let's go to Detroit:

"Today's increase in the unemployment rate is a sad reminder that the economy is at a virtual standstill," Romney said. "When I'm president, I'm going to make real changes that lead to a real recovery, so that the next four years are better than the last."

The reality is,  for every one of the  171,000 new jobs, the number of unemployed rose up 170,000, to 12.3 million.  [um, Mr. "I'm not good at math President"  -- isn't that like gaining like a net 1,000 jobs?]   If Obama were able to have retained the same workforce from the day he took office, the real unemployment number would actually be 10.6% .  Oh, you doubt?  Read this from Human Events, the Malaise update for some classic    good     conservative     fun with B'rack and Pain.

Hayward had me right up to the swallowing of the bitter pill end when he ended with this:

"Incredibly, the Labor Secretary actually celebrated this dismal jobs report by handing out candy to reporters.  No word on where she was able to find malaise-flavored candy.  This afternoon, she should lead a parade of reporters to whistle past a local graveyard."
So now let's go to the mad update on Sandy --

Non-Union electrical workers are being turned away in Jersey.  Oh, you doubt?  Go here.

Mayor Bloomberg is insisting on having the NY Marathon come actual hell and high water.  Oh, you doubt?  Go here. Or here, take your pick.

And then there is this -- heartbreaking words from a resident on Staten Island:

"Red Cross is here with hot chocolate and cookies. 
We need blankets, we need pillows, we need clothing. 
We can get hot chocolate and cookies, we need help!”

And finally, BENGHAZI.


What a freaking mess.

No matter how you choose to look at all the itty bitty details emerging, no matter which aggregated "time line" you are locked on target to believe, no matter how many times you heard the word "video"  -- the reality is -- we have in our highest office a president who CHOSE to mislead us, lie to us, spread false intelligence for no reason OTHER THAN to save himself and his administration.    All the way through his speech at the United Nations, which was September 25th, by the way, he allowed a lie to fester in what was already an open, pulsing, unimaginable sized wound.

We've covered it.
We've uncovered it.
And we've covered it again, here in G land.

[um Mr. President, as a mom, take it from me, me thinks a Band-Aid won't cut it...just sayin' ...and maybe it's just me]

It was a terrorist attack from the get-go; help was only two hours away; four Americans died.  And a river of lies runs through it -- every highlight, every low-light, points to total disregard for the truth.  Oh, you doubt?  Here's a decent update from the National Review.

And get this -- there are people who are able to point to the Benghazi attack as even being, in part, an inside job.  No, say it isn't so.   Oh, you doubt?  Go here.  Or this.  Or this.

Let's see, where are we now?  Oh right,  IF Obama actually gets re-elected, his presidency will fall right into impeachment proceedings.

DO you want to move forward with more on that?   

Or do you want to make money, get a job, feed your children, keep the lights on, and maybe, just maybe, buy a new pair of shoes?
 

And in other news, Martha Stewart, the magazine, is set to unload about 33-35 million dollars in operating costs.  Oh, you doubt?  Go here.

No doubt, America's next few days will continue to be a real nail biter when it comes to the election as we inch closer to Tuesday.

And yet, for areas hit hard by Hurricane Sandy -- like for Jodi on Staten Island -- I can only just imagine it....Whether talking about the NY marathon, or the election, or Benghazi, or even the new unemployment numbers unveiled just this morning, @8:30 EDT as expected and just like clockwork -- none of it matters.

Hot chocolate and cookies not only doesn't cut it, it's an insult.  I can only hope she didn't hear Bloomberg call upon the runners to donate a dollar per mile to go to a special fund for the victims.  That news just might kill her.

Let's pull together, America; we are five days away from a fundamental transformation re-write. We are lucky enough to get a do-over every four years, so let's not blow it...again.

It's Back to the Wheel with Practicing our Principles Thing

Dear America,


alrighty then, now that we've had a day to enjoy a little bi-partisan love fest -- can we all get back to business?

Oh but if only the business of the presidency was resigned to areas just for show, huh?  it's winner winner chicken dinner, for this president.

Looking back, I have to admit, HE sure does the photo-op well, doesn't he?

It's always about the backdrop -- doctors for Obamacare; businessmen... to create jobs, through the creation of a panel, to talk about how to create jobs, through the jobs council;   our brave boys and girls in the military... and sometimes, he's just brazen enough to call it what it is right up front -- see here;  but yesterday?  What was that?

The media got so much mileage off it -- reporting it as if the skies have truly fallen, the earth shock, and the elephant and donkey joined in sweet harmony, as if awe and agreement met in the middle and it was good.  It was one day, people; and what a day to wake up to...the Day After total devastation was brought to millions, upon millions, of Americans.

It's like, everybody was saying 'look, it happens!'   'wonders never cease'  'just look at how nicely they are playing together'    'aw aren't they so cute...getting along like that... and being so civil, really... acting like adults.... it almost looks like they are doing what they are being paid to do... like the big boys they are supposed to be.'

Is it that absurd -- to have two men, of two totally opposite sides, appear in public with their expected mutual respect for one another showing?    What a sad state of affairs we are in, that showing a wee bit of civility be such a rare thing, that it completely throws us for a loop when we see it.

This demonstration between Gov. Christie and President Obama doesn't tell us anything we didn't already know about these two political giants; for they are simply playing the game; and they do it well.

What should be of greater concern to everyone, is how the media responded to it in the making of piles and piles of liberal political hay.

What should be of greater concern to everyone, is how the public was so easily swayed by all of it's photo-opportunity glory.

What should be of greater concern to everyone, is NOT found in the shortsightedness of making it all about the boys playing so nicely together -- but more about what the perception of this one act of bipartisanship tells us about ourselves.

True bi-partisanship requires all of us to work together with people considered to be our polar opposites.  It's not enough to simply ask congress to work together - - to show civility - - to find a compromise - - to be respectful of each other -- in the process to save America; it's not enough.  WE MUST ALL act that way everyday, even within our own little worlds.

Perhaps the general sense that we are getting a whole lot ruder in this country has something to do with it?  See Rasmussen, here.   76% think we are less civil, and more rude -- huh, no wonder we looked so surprised to see Obama/Christie arm and arm...

Here's something else to consider:  that is if public opinion polls mean anything anymore -- 47% believe Romney is the guy to fix the gridlock in DC, just go here -- only 37% give the nod to Obama on this one.  [Which is funny, given that we have just witnessed four years of the Obama-effect in Washington -- how can he even get a rise to that number?]

Now, there is plenty of proof that what Obama wants to achieve in Washington has nothing to do with working together with the opposite side of the aisle; he has a plan, he has the use of executive order, he has control over every bureaucracy -- he doesn't need congress to implement his ideas of fundamental transformation.  And a second term will only seal the deal and make whatever is left on his bucket list as good as done.

If the president didn't need congress to cooperate the first time around -- it leaves all hope behind to see it happen in the second.

But let's bring it back to us, shall we?

What is Washington, if not a microcosm of us?

What feeds a Washington in the first place?

What provides the pool of the uncooperative, stubborn ideologue not willing to bend on behalf of the greater purpose under heaven, which quickly unravels right before our eyes, and looks a whole lot like 'not working well with others' by the first ring of the bell?

If this is Washington, then they are us.

The ruse is Washington; it is like one gigantic photo-op, you never know what is real and what's photo-shopped.  To change it -- to fix it -- we send higher principled people; we repeal and replace anything and everything that runs counter-productive to the principles and values set forth in our Declaration of Independence and put forward into action by our Constitution.


"A people who value it's privileges

And it's entirely why our founders set America up the way they did.  And not surprisingly, the further we get from practicing our principles, the further we falter,  individually and collectively.

Plucked from The 5000 Year Leap,  let's apply a little prophecy from John Fiske, an American historian:

"If the day should ever arrive (which God forbid!) when the people of the different parts of our country shall allow their local affairs to be administered by prefects sent from Washington, and when the self-government of the states shall have been so far lost as that of the departments of France, or even so closely limited as that of the counties of England -- on that day the political career of the American people will have been robbed of its most interesting and valuable features, and the usefulness of this nation will be lamentably impaired." Quote from The Critical Period of History, 1783-1789, The Historical Writings of John Fiske, vol. 12
Responsible self-government of the state and responsible self-government of the individual IS the only bi-partisanship we should ever be concerned with -- for everything else follows.

 In my world, this should be required reading for anyone who wants to vote.


But for today, yesterday, and probably tomorrow -- the media is simply overjoyed with the president looking "more presidential" in the wake  of a horrific, hell hath no fury like Sandy, as if the end of the world was so near we could touch it...They are suddenly so impressed with a president behaving like a president;  they are just so enamored with what looks like two polar opposites coming together and totally acting like a whole.  

Hey, for kicks and giggles, why don't we see if it rolls, too.

and then there is this:    Bloomberg today --  just after the storm but just before sounding like a complete idiot:   endorsing Obama.  why?  he didn't say the economy, or jobs, or bipartisan cooperation in Washington, he gives it to him for his leadership on climate change.

It's Leaning and Misleading and Leaving Nobody Behind Thing

Dear America,





...our president, appearing on Tuesday at the Red Cross headquarters.

And you know what they say -- as goes the president, so goes the G thing.

Now, if you happen to be a conservative, very little the president says anymore comes with any credibility; as a matter of fact, the usual response is a whole lot of skepticism, if not cynicism, if not a total gag reflex.

We want to give him the benefit of the doubt, but unfortunately, he lost that advantage somewhere between the apology tour and yesterday -- ah, what am I sayin', we might as well call it the entire last four years; somewhere between spending nearly a trillion dollars on nothing in the "shovel-ready" stimulus, and spending two trillion in shovel-worthy Obamacare, and adding six trillion shovel-fulls of debt --  he lost us.

But this?

"We are going to continue to push as hard as we can to make sure that power is up throughout the region.  And obviously, this is mostly a local responsibility, and the private utilities are going to have to lean forward, but we are doing everything we can to provide them additional resources so that we can expedite getting power up and running in many of these communities.

There are places like Newark, New Jersey, for example, where you’ve got 80, 90 percent of the people without power.  We can't have a situation where that lasts for days on end.  And so my instructions to the federal agency has been, do not figure out why we can't do something; I want you to figure out how we do something.  I want you to cut through red tape.  I want you to cut through bureaucracy.  There’s no excuse for inaction at this point.  I want every agency to lean forward and to make sure that we are getting the resources where they need -- where they're needed as quickly as possible."

I thought to myself, seriously?  aw no he di'nent...

That's quite a combo you threw out there; did you think of that on the fly, all by yourself?  Conjoining the MSNBC's "lean forward" all while making a direct contact with your own campaign slogan, simply  "FORWARD."  -- and magnificently conveying the message to a bevy of bureaucrats that there are "no excuses for inaction." 

So like the president said, let's get moving more forward.  He immediately added this:

"So I want to repeat -- my message to the federal government:  No bureaucracy, no red tape.  Get resources where they're needed as fast as possible, as hard as possible, and for the duration, because the recovery process obviously in a place like New Jersey is going to take a significant amount of time.  The recovery process in a lower Manhattan is going to take a lot of time."
Not sure what he meant by "as hard as possible, and for the duration"  but for the sake of moving forward, let's continue.

He goes through a phase, liberally throwing 'resources' into his remarks left and right   --

"And part of what we’re trying to do here is also to see where are some resources that can be brought to bear that maybe traditionally are not used in these kind of disaster situations...There may be resources that we can bring to bear to help some of the private utilities get their personnel and their equipment in place more swiftly so that we can get power up and running as soon as possible..."

"So my message to the governors and the mayors and, through them, to the communities that have been hit so hard is that we are going to do everything we can to get resources to you and make sure that any unmet need that is identified, we are responding to it as quickly as possible."

[Brought to bear, bring to bear; potayto, potahto -- as the president  probably begins to think:  note to self:  may day...bring back the teleprompter... for me to be me but more betta]

And then, he suddenly arrives at a place sounding even more ridiculous:

"First of all, because our local law enforcement, our first responders are being swamped, to the extent that everybody can be out there looking out for their neighbors, especially older folks, I think that's really important.  If you’ve got a neighbor nearby, you’re not sure how they're handling a power outage, flooding, et cetera, go over, visit them, knock on their door, make sure that they're doing okay.  That can make a big difference.  The public can be the eyes and ears in terms of identifying unmet needs."  [yeah...."if you see something, say something" ]

But 'knock on their door?"
There is no door.

And more important, you left out puppies.

[oh a jaded G is so not attractive in the morning  -- indeed.]

Just after this,  he tries to go high, but falls, and at a rapid rate -- clocked at maybe 4 g's in a 2 g- zone.  It's like he's lost his magic  --

"The final message I’d just say is during the darkness of the storm, I think we also saw what’s brightest in America.  I think all of us obviously have been shocked by the force of Mother Nature as we watch it on television. "

If you can turn on the television.

If you still have a television.

But what's gotten into you?  You don't even sound right.

As he tries to save himself  -- and goes right into doing what he likes to do best, telling us a sweet story, as if we are all sitting around drinking beers together:

"One of my favorite stories is down in North Carolina, the Coast Guard going out to save a sinking ship[the HMS Bounty].  They sent a rescue swimmer out, and the rescue swimmer said, “Hi, I’m Dan.  I understand you guys need a ride.”   
But the real stunner of his morning remarks was this -- and it's a doozy:

"This is a tough time for a lot of people -- millions of folks all across the Eastern Seaboard.  But America is tougher, and we’re tougher because we pull together.  We leave nobody behind.  We make sure that we respond as a nation and remind ourselves that whenever an American is in need, all of us stand together to make sure that we’re providing the help that's necessary.

YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME!

How callous...

How unimaginable for you to choose that phrase...

How reckless of you ...in the wake of Benghazi, having lost our Ambassador and three other Americans in a terrorist attack, in a place where APPARENTLY we couldn't "respond as a nation;"  we didn't have enough information, we didn't have enough time, we didn't have enough RESOURCES in the area...according to you and according to your administration's clear lack of response.  In other words, YOU found way too many excuses, didn't you, Mr. President.

At the risk of repeating myself (but no matter, you do it all the time),  how WAY TOO SOON for you to be saying anything remotely close to the words "we leave nobody behind."  Just hearing it come out of your mouth makes me sick to my stomach.  FOR YOU KNOW as YOU KNEW THEN, as you know NOW absolutely everything you need to know  -- and coincidently, it just so happens to be equally as much as we all know now, too.  But the audacity, to say this in the wake of a father's plea? 

This was the first response for Charles Woods, Tyrone's father  -- as he cried out to you and your administration asking, what the hell happened, what happened to leaving no man behind? We need answers...

As soon as the president said it, 'we leave nobody behind,' I felt this wave of emotion fall over me, instantly connecting my tears with Mr. Woods; I just couldn't believe what I was hearing.  We can't even call this a gaffe on the president's part; for a man thought of to be so intelligent, so thoughtful, so compassionate for his fellow brothers and sisters,  makes no mistakes -- this was a deliberate thought.  After being chastised for more than a month, almost entirely upon the one question as to how we could ever have 'left Benghazi behind' -- he knew better.  But his Excellency, his Arrogance, doubled-down and purposely walked right into it as if to say, 'bring it on, Mr. Woods.'

At the end of his formal remarks, we get a "Thank you very much, everybody.  Thank you, Red Cross."

After one of the worst natural disasters we've seen hit the Eastern Shore ever, we get NO God bless you, NO God bless the United States of America, NO Under God of any kind -- all is quiet on the aftermath front in affirming Something of the Divine.

Closest thing we get to that notion is buried into the second sentence, of the third paragraph, when he says: "Our thoughts and prayers go out to all the families who have lost loved ones."  And boy is it fleeting, if you blink you miss it as he quickly moves into the heartbreak and devastation.

Again, going back to just yesterday, or was it the blog before that -- who knows,  who cares, as they seem to be running together -- but what is with this change over you?  Striking differences of attack are noticeable -- considering you ran off to Vegas immediately after the terrorist attack in Benghazi!  And Lord knows what else was in store for us in the Middle East...you did say we didn't have enough information..that, among other things [like starting with a V].

But you thought about it and made a snap decision:  the campaign took top priority, with public perception on Benghazi and American safety abroad coming in second.

I guess, hindsight being what it is -- it became a teachable moment for you going into the Sandy affair.  You got to Florida the night before for the campaign run knowing it was gonna blow something fierce up north and by morning light, you saw the light, and flew home as fast as you could.  Well, you didn't; thanks to the American taxpayers, Air Force One took care of that.  good skills, good skills.

And doncha just love our un-biased media through all of this.

Here's a headline from this morning, highlighting yesterdays events: "Obama visits storm victims while Romney campaigns."   

Wrong again. And how misleading.

He showed up at a community organized event on behalf of the storm victims to assist in the gathering of donations.  He didn't make any speech; he merely offered some words from the sidelines in appreciation of the community spirit surrounding  him.  It was supposed to be a campaign stump, true -- but it quickly evolved into a mission.   Anyone who has a problem with that needs their head examined.

And let us not forget, the president is simply doing what he is supposed to be doing.   For the next few days, he's a walking paid announcement --  totally endorsed by himself, for himself, and approving his message every step of the way -- somebody might as well tape a FORWARD placard to his back... without him knowing it, of course.

It's a Saturday Night in the Kingdom Thing

Dear America,


i won't be here for long.... BECAUSE it's SATURDAY Night!  In spite of every urge not to say a word until Monday, the reversal of fortune going on is just begging for a bloggin'.

According to Gallup, the president now sits at an uncomfortable 49% DIS-approval rating and a 46% approval rating.  Don't believe me?  Go here -- the October 24-26th compilation, added just this morning, puts Obama down 2 points in the approval department and up 2 in DIS-approval.  While for Romney, he continues to be pulling out ahead in the "likely voter" column at 51% to 46%.

Now let me tell you what else is going on...in my humble opinion, of course --

AMERICA, as a whole,  is tired of being divided.

And more than that, we want a happy president.

We want good relations with our brothers and sisters.

We want decent jobs, a purpose in life and Sunday dinners with the family.

We want to see the country move forward while still clinging to our founding principles and first intentions.

We do NOT want a president who puts tired, worn, divisive, separation tactics and rhetoric between us.

Let's just say, for a majority of us, we've evolved.   And putting it another way, we're over it.

Our leader, President Petty Pusher, is failing us; and it seems highly unlikely he will ever get the popular nod and wave back in his favor -- let's just say, not even all the king's men or his band of merry media can save him now.

But oh, are they trying....are they trying...

Beginning with a fresh headline from the AP, also this morning, which clearly intends to remind America we're all a bunch of racists....still, by all 'evidence' anyway (and when I say "all" -- let me clarify -- just white people).

Really AP?  Are we?  are we?    "AP Poll: A Majority Harbor Prejudice Against Blacks"  What is that?  Honestly, how did we get back to the sixties?  But maybe more important, let me see the questions that were asked....

Perhaps this is your idea of entertainment for the next ten days leading up to the election -- juggling stories to hype fanaticism, charming and demagoguing, all in good, clean jest and in the spirit of saving the kingdom?  Or is it more simple-minded than that, and just dropped upon us to guilt us into re-electing someone who clearly doesn't deserve it?

Let me remind the AP -- given that America holds a white majority --it was WHITE people who gave Barack Obama the office of the presidency in the first place.

Let me remind the AP --  we (all of us, even if we didn't vote for him) had the overall  impression that he would be different (if you didn't know any better, that is).  But more than that, this man -- Barack Hussein Obama --  deserved our trust and confidence for greater reasons other than the color of his skin; and taking this even further, we believed and hoped that he held the explicit power to finally bring whatever racial divide that still lived in this country to it's knees, and thereby proving to ourselves, as well as to the rest of the world, America had truly transcended prejudice in a most powerful and demonstrative way.

Let me remind the AP -- that IF you dare to be so bold to announce such claims, it would be wise to include evidence of racism from the other side, too.... but nooooo.  We are all led to assume all the way through to the bitter end that mirror, mirror, on the wall, a black person is the most tolerant of them all.

Let me remind the AP -- there are a 300 million ways to look at this thing called racism, but clinging to the tired, worn, divisive foregone conclusions over and over again doesn't get America anywhere good.

Here's a comment from the director of the Institute for Research in African-American Studies at Columbia University, Fredrick Harris. "The last Democrat in the White House said we had to have a national discussion about race. There's been total silence around issues of race with this president. But, as you see, whether there is silence, or an elevation of the discussion of race, you still have polarization. It will take more generations, I suspect, before we eliminate these deep feelings."

I just can't help but get stuck on the deep seated self-fulfilling prophecy.  Which reminds me of something that might work and it goes something like this:

And sure, what do I know, I was born a white girl... there is that.  And  I get that, too, Whoopie.

Looking back, way back, here's another headline -- "Can Obama hold onto the African-American Voter in 2012?"  It's old news considering the post is from the Washington Post -- a paper which recently endorsed Obama, I might add --  from the fall of 2011.   But no matter...this year, last year, aren't they beginning to run all together by now.   But seriously, isn't the question itself alarming -- proposing that the president should have an edge with a certain group of citizens based solely upon the color of his skin alone; while the article continues, it articulates a rather startling concern -- can he, can he, can he possibly hold onto the office by color by number in 2012?

Wow and wouldn't this idea of winning be right out of the book of Grimm, taking the crown by whatever means necessary, and stooping however low -- be it racism, class-warfare, discrimination,  or simply attacking another man's castle for no reason but at the expense of real change for the entire country.

Isn't the Aftrican-American community able to think outside the color of their skin much like white people?  Did the oh so very white Hillary ever stand a chance back in 2008?

You know what I hate, AP?  I hate this!  I hate this garbage you throw around like pennies for a comment.

AND why are we speaking in voting blocks at all?   Oh we've met the enemy, alright, and they are us.

WE ARE ALL AMERICANS first, and foremost.  E Pluribus Unum!  Let's act like it!

Real enlightenment is an age and a process that happens underneath one's skin -- and it begins with being taught not to hate.  And it happens to be an explicit duty of every parent, every mentor, every teacher, every preacher, anyone who comes into contact with our children to make it so.

"I have a dream that my four children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character."  Martin Luther King

Just where did the 'old' candidate for office go? Where, oh where, did the 'we're not a white america, or a black america, or a latino america ... president of these United States wander off to?  If a president gets lost somewhere in the deep, dark political woods and falls down, and nobody is around, does he make a noise?

Oh enough, I say, ENOUGH!  away with this chatter...

Let's climb back to the top of the parapet -- we have a huge reversal of fortune going on for President Obama.  More people are lacking the faith in this American President than not; it was just yesterday when the president was at 48% approval rating, while today, things have completely turned upside down.

Cue the round-table of what happened earlier in the day...

For a campaign all about moving "FORWARD" -- they sure spend a lot of precious time looking back.  For example, the president was campaigning and throwing down the big slam -- referring to Romney's policies as  the "big re-run"  of GWBush and incredibly still blaming his predecessor for his own demise!  And this is the president's framework for a second term?

And Romney, he simply proceeded to act in a rather presidential fashion, beginning with  calling for more cooperation in Washington.


The president's message is unraveling; the nation is beginning to question the flip-flop of his rhetoric to win re-election, and it's clearly not sitting well. It's like we've all been poisoned.  Between his desperation now showing, between his miscalculation on the big Lie in Libya now telling, we are beginning to look forward to something truly new, with only a memory of a lost presidency left behind.

We get that something new in Mitt Romney.

"something old, something new, 
something borrowed, something blue"

and a marriage awaits.

sound the trumpets.

and the kingdom, well it appears like it couldn't be any more happier.

America really truly wants to move forward; and to that end, we want to see our president walk in grace, peace, compassion, excellence, truth, courage, honor and honest to goodness might sunrise to sunset.   For if thy Excellency doth  perform anything less than thou hath honorably intended, than thy doth not shine good upon all of us. 

Now, without further adieu, thy must be excused to practice writing thy new name....and that's just a wink and a nod to the girls who know exactly what I'm talking about...

It's Time and It's a Good Thing

Dear America,

the more I think about it, the more I understand the measured Mitt of Monday night.

Think about it -- the polls are swinging in his direction, and in a very big way.  Don't you think he's beginning to think -- hey, I just might be the next president of these United States.

What would you do?

I believe it was so calculated, there is no other possible way to think about it.  If Mitt is elected -- every word, every intention, will precede him from this day forward.  Mitt is imagining the day when the buck really will stop at his feet and look him in the eye and say --  tag, you're it.

It took just minutes for the attacks to begin -- being on the receiving end of relentless, ridiculous, rhetoric in rapid fire, and most of it so immature, one's gotta wonder, what are you twelve? 

"we have these things called 
aircraft carriers, 
where planes land on them..."

Mitt was the adult in the room and behaved himself accordingly; why would he even bother meeting up with this kind of idiocy with more idiocy?  Especially when it's recorded, transcribed, for all the world to hear, and read, and replay and repeat over and over an over again.  These fine words and this monumental display of oneupmanship -- of both gents -- goes into the history books.

And then, prospective foreign policy and diplomatic relations begin to take shape, almost instantly!
And then, there is also something that's called straa-te-G [say that with some snark and ya got it] -- and this goes without saying really, for it's simply good strategy to keep secrets from the enemy; keeping plans, pullouts, military movement close to the chest saves lives!

What's funny -- now that the night has had some time to marinate -- is a troubling line...And no, it has nothing to do with horses or bayonets.  It was the flippant remark declaring Romney's policies as "wrong and reckless."  And it's so good to him, he keeps repeating it.

But, which is it, Mr. President, "wrong and reckless" OR:

"You know, there have been times, Governor, frankly, during the course of this campaign, where it sounded like you thought you'd do the same things we did, but you'd say them louder and somehow that -- that would make a difference."

As childish as that sounds,  Romney maintained composure; he was intent, focused, more motivated by the bigger picture -- all he really wanted to do was come off as being nothing like the guy Obama has been painting him as, and attacking ad-infinitum, during the last few months and counting.

AND why?

Because he's not.  And fancy that, we, the people, are beginning to figure that out.

Obama was on fire yesterday -- emboldened by his debate performance and talking trash about "Romnesia."  Like he should be one to talk -- is it "wrong and reckless" or "follow the leader?"  -- is it because of a "video" or "acts of terror" or TERRORISM?-- do you believe in the way of Jesus or Mohammed?  stunning....

Let's resuscitate and go back to a Romney-ism from the night:  "attacking me is not an agenda."  Indeed.

Poor little man, Obama.... he's got nothing.  What would you do without a decent record to toot?  All he's got is a strategy based upon Alinsky's Rules for Radicals to save himself -- ridicule the opponent until they cry uncle.  And if you're Romney, you simply don't play.

And let's be clear, shall we --  we ALL KNOW that OBAMA f&*% Up on Libya.........

Emergency alerts coming out of Libya two hours into the attack prove 1) terrorists were knocking at the door and 2) they needed help.   Earlier that day, notice had already been sent from Ambassador Stevens himself, repeating his growing concern that the escalation of Islamic extremists activity required attention. And here's a good take, read this from a fellow blogspot'er, "In From the Cold".

Not only did the Obama Administration ignore calls for more security in the months leading up to the attack, Libya was neither prepared or reinforced for the anniversary of September 11th; and in the aftermath, the administration misled the nation for two weeks.    liar, liar pants on fire....and yes, I must be twelve, too.

Remember when G -- I mean, "PJ" -- linked you this?  This was DAYS ago.... !  More important, Mr. President, is your administration just incompetent or did you guys just lie to the American people?

............and I say Obama, because he said so, kinda like the buck stops with him.
 

Another Romney-ism from yesterday's campaign trail went something like this:  'we can take another two weeks of attacks, but what we can't have is another four more years of THIS.'

You know, it's been awhile since The 5000 Year Leap entered into the conversation.  In it, under the heading of "Visualizing America as a World Peacemaker" -- we just might get a taste of a Romney diplomatic leadership.  And before I go further, it may be entirely too presumptive of me in it's entirety -- but no bother; gonna go with it anyway...

gosh, spit it out, G...

It mentions a guy -- and former Under-Secretary of State and former ambassador of Mexico -- by the name of J. Reuben Clark Jr.  As Skousen notes, Clark, a constitutional aficionado, often spoke of America's role of being the great world peacemaker under a policy of "separatism", delineating between that and "internationalism" -- being the world's policeman.  He's also a Mormon.

Clark gave a speech just before the nation entered into World War II, hoping to influence American leaders from joining forces in another world war.  This isn't about giving a hindsight opinion after the fact; this is more of a recollection of perhaps our founders' best intentions when our country was designed.  This is a day in the life in the year of our Lord 1939 -- and it's simply beautiful...

"America, multi-raced and multi-nationed, is by tradition, by geography, by citizenry, by natural sympathy, and by material interest, the greatest neutral nation of the earth.  God so designed it.  Drawn from all races, creeds, and nations, our sympathies run to every oppressed people.  Our feelings engaged on opposite sides of great differences, will in their natural course, if held in due and proper restraint, neutralize the one [with] the other.  Directed in right channels, this great body of feeling for the one side or the other will ripen into sympathy and love for all misguided and misled fellowmen who suffer in any cause, and this sympathy and love will run out to all humanity in its woe....

...It is our solemn duty to play a better part than we can do by participating in the butchery...
...having in mind our position as the great world neutral, and remembering that the people of these warring nations have been led into this conflict largely unwittingly, and therefore, are largely blameless, we should announce our unalterable opposition to any plan to starve these innocent peoples involved in this conflict -- the women, the children, the sick, the aged, the infirm...

...If we shall rebuild our lost moral power and influence by measures such as these which will demonstrate our love for humanity, our justice, our fairmindedness...we shall then be where...we can offer mediation between the two belligerents.

America, the great neutral, will thus become the Peacemaker of the world, which is her manifest destiny if she lives the law of peace.  (quoted in the Freemen Digest, October 1978, pp 2-3, taken from  The 5000 Year Leap, W. Cleon Skousen, pp 276-278)

"IF she lives the law of peace."

Now it takes no great stretch for G to make giant leaps, piecing all the itty bitty pieces together.  And make this day no exception to the rule.  For what we have, perhaps -- in Romney -- is the greatest potential for foreign and domestic peace that we have seen in years.

Returning to a sentiment from the final moments of Monday's debate, from Mitt Romney:

"America's 
going to have that kind of leadership
and continue to promote principles of peace
to make the world a safer place and make people
in this country more confident that their future
is secure...
America's
going to come back, 
and for that to happen, 
we're going to have to have a president
who can work across the aisle 
[...I did and can do it again...]
"This nation is the hope of the earth."

I truly believe -- that he believes -- this to be true.

Mitt talks peace -- and jobs -- a lot; and I for one, would really like to see what he can do.  It's time.
