It's a Pandemonium Thing

yeah, not even sure why I'm jumping into this blog today, of all days, and especially after a couple months of utter silence.  But it is, after all, the Day After an Oval Office address to the nation.  There is that. (Go ahead and fact check it.)

The critics are harsh this morning, alive with fresh fodder, and picking apart Trump's every word, limb by limb.  I'm surprised they haven't added sound affects.  It seems the Left, from journalists to congress, would rather have this president and leader of the free world fail than applaud his efforts, even if that were to mean giving the upper hand to a global pandemic. 

Cue up pandemonium.

 

Ah! but they forget how Trump gets things done.   He's like,  oh, it's on.

Russian collusion?  Nope

Election interference?  Nope

Quid pro quo with Ukraine?  Nope

Ah, we got him now -- covid-19 -- this should put a nail in his coffin.

Of course! the media wants you to believe that all the president did last night was add confusion among the prevailing winds of woe and anxiety.  W.H.O.'s on first, what's on second, let's just end the day on the fact that complete and utter disaster is looming and even our president is stoking the fire for alarm.

Yes.  Market volatility is to be expected.  Basically, after the initial shock and awe, it's like a big, big whoop within six months time. And besides, most people who play in the stock market are in it for the long haul.

Yes.  A little inconvenience and extra cautionary measures is self-explanatory and just plain proper, the right thing to do when living in community with one another.

And one day, this, too, shall pass.

The thing is, in the wake of all this woke global pandemic, from academia to sporting events to any gathering where two or more are gathered for whatever reason, one thing's for sure and for real -- the contagion of fear is highly mobile, crosses oceans, and spreads news, whether true or false, faster than you can say boo.

What is the narrative our media -- let alone the entire universe of the W.H.O. --  wants you to hear?

What -- or who -- is the force that we should be most afraid of?

What's so wrong with having a fighting spirit, to not only meet this pandemic face to face, but crush it, even if that means total suspension of entry into the United States from places where the epidemic has run amuck?

 

Is it still okay to be happy in our day to day, even after hearing the news of both Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson coming down with the illness?

When it's this hard to make heads or tails out of any of this, all I want to do is crawl under a rock and stay there.

oh it's just another day, a day in the life of an American girl.

The thing is -- this is about giving Congress the license to bury an administration simply on grounds that they do not like the policy, foreign/or domestic, or based upon personal likes or dislikes...and that simply should never happen.  In this country, all grievances of an administration are settled by the people, at the voting box, not by the feelings or agenda of the House of Representatives.  

The phone call, itself, is crystal clear.  There was no deal made, no quid pro quo for dirt on Joe.  Did the president wonder what in fact happened between Joe, the private investigator, Burisma, and the Ukraine officials?  Yes. Indeed he did, as any president should, given the optics of nefarious deal making with a foreign entity, seemingly only benefiting the Vice President's family.

Bottom line: Ukraine got the aid. Who really cares if it was even put on hold?  It's American aid to a foreign country.  And besides, it's not even the governments money -- it's the people's money.  Perhaps we should consider putting holds on all kinds of foreign aid across the globe, like, stat?  

Hate to break it to y'all, but we really can't afford it.

Speaking of which, how does Bernie -- now the democratic front runner -- plan to pay for all the benefits he is promising?  Free college, college debt paid off, free Medicare for all, yadi yadi yada...with what seems to be a price tag of 60 TRILLION dollars over ten years?  Something like that.  And this isn't even taking into account all the boomers hitting the Social Security rolls over the next generation, or the number of people who will surely be added to food stamps when they lose their job under a Sanders Administration.

This is insane.

And Bernie doesn't even want to discuss it.  He's like, I don't need to tell you how it all pencils right now.  Because he knows, it doesn't.  It will never pencil.  There is not enough money in all the world to pay for it.

Reality check:  America is already over 23 Trillion dollars in debt, and climbing.  See the clock.

Please note some of the other numbers -- like, the total UNFUNDED LIABILITIES.  This is referring to things the American government has promised to pay in the future....things like Social Security, government employee and veteran pensions, benefits negotiated for Medicare, Medicaid.

To cover just the unfunded liabilities from here on out -- with nothing new added -- we are currently at over $127 TRILLION dollars.  This equates to roughly $387 THOUSAND dollars per person. PER PERSON!  DO you have that kind of money?  

Let me answer that for you, according to the US Debt Clock, personal debt in this country totals over 20 Trillion dollars, equating to just shy of $62,000/citizen.  

If we put this indebtedness together -- the unfunded liabilities, per person, along with the personal debt, per person, we arrive at a total of nearly $450,000 for every American citizen!  

And Bernie wants to add to our indebtedness with a whole lot more of "free" stuff????

This stuff doesn't come free; it is anything but!

This indebtedness, these promises, only burden every man, woman, and child into perpetuity, and whatever comes after that!

It's called ball and chain vs free rein.

It's called lack vs abundance.

It's called unimaginable weight upon every shoulder vs peace of mind, body, and soul.

And more than that, history proves, socialism does not work ....literally.  Physically, it does not work.  Figuratively, it only works in our imaginations.  Economically, it does not work, let alone add up.  And more than that, it does the opposite of what anyone, including Bernie, says it will do, individually and collectively.

Socialism has never worked.

Other than that, it's a great system for 330 million people of all walks of life, to dream and imagine that it will solve all our problems.

And can you just imagine if all of this nonsense actually goes down?  Take, for example, this dad hitting up Elizabeth Warren with some unintended consequences of her plan to pay off college debt...after he has worked two jobs to put his daughter through school the right way.

We can return to the story of the first grader coming home with a pillow case full of candy after his first Halloween, and he's asked to distribute equal portions of all of it to each of his siblings who didn't trick or treat the night away.  say what, he says, grumbling with every loss, from the pack of Skittles to each and every break of that KitKat bar.

In other ramblings on this day, this girl used to like John Bolton.  I used to think he was solid, mindful of war and policy and negotiation with both friendly neighbors and ruthless enemies. 

Boy, does that boy have an ax to grind; how juvenile not to wait until after the election to market his new book.  As if.   As if he could change the facts of the matter.

Let's refresh.

Here's the phone call that supposedly started it all (again).

It's a lot of thanks, equal admiration between countries, equal perceptions of other countries (like Germany, and France), a lot of can you find out more, let's talk again, let's find out about what really happened for the benefit of both our countries, we will talk, it's all good, thank you so much...

There was absolutely no muscle, no threat to withhold aid, no cost of doing business between the two countries, in any way, shape, or form.

And second, Adam Schiff is a compulsive liar.  He lied to the media/public right from the start.  First about Russia and the dossier, and now about this.  He not only created the narrative, he managed to invent all kinds of things in this phone call that did not even happen, and the media just accepted it as truth.

This House Impeachment is on TWO counts:  Abuse of Power and Obstructing Congress, culminating months of hearsay from the whistle-blower after the so-called whistle-blower blew the whistle to Adam Schiff's office.  (Same Schiff who has repeatedly lied that they have no idea who the whistle-blower is.) 

If any president, or person, for that matter, can be found guilty of high (thought) crimes and misdemeanors -- and in this case, making him guilty of impeachable offenses, simply for thinking about committing a crime, or contemplating actions that some may deem an abuse of power, or entertain a fleeting thought to secretly undermine our nation's security through ways of bribery or extortion, corrupting the integrity and honor of this fine nation --  then where are we really as a society? 

The Left continues to wage war upon President Trump's intentions, what he was really thinking, what he really wanted to do, how he really wanted to get the dirt on the Biden's at any cost, or else.  The truth is, reality didn't really play out like that, did it?

Is it really time to bring out the thought police? Is this where we are at, really?  really?

The thing is, Congress is obstructing its own body by acting in ways unbecoming of a congress, and i turn,  not getting a single, meaningful thing accomplished for the American people.

In the second thing, the true Abuse of Power is this gigantic waste of time called an impeachment trial, given that it is based upon nothing more than hate, and lies.  Lots and lots of lies.  The House simply hates who is living next door in the White House, and they won't stop the abuse until he is totally, and ceremoniously, vacated.

That, my friends, is called interference with an election.

Bolton, guilty.  Schiff, guilty, Pelosi, guilty. Schumer, guilty.  And the beat goes on.

All of them should be impeached so we can move on and get back to the business of making America great, again and again.

But then again,

It's Gossip Gone Awry Thing

here's the phone call.

here's the whistle-blower's complaint, blown way out of proportion, if you ask me.

the call between the US and Ukraine was like old friends chatting it up, and yet we are talking about a conversation between two international political powers.

There is definitely is no makings of a quid pro quo; there isn't even a threat to take military aid away...hello?  Who started that rumor, lame-stream media?

And the primary subject of clarification gathering was specific, and in reference to things that happened during the previous administration, namely the Vice President of the United States and his son  -- willing to bet President Obama had a few of those conversations while on the phone with world leaders, discussing aspects of the Bush Administration's response to 9/11, the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and including defense secretaries, national security advisers, ambassadors, presidents of foreign countries, kings of foreign countries, Benghazi, the Arab Spring, the removal of powers in Egypt, Libya... and all kinds of key players in the US and abroad.  

I wonder, just how many things the Obama Administration investigated from behind closed doors?

A current presidential candidate wants America's blessing to have a go at the helm, and we are to believe that his proprietary involvement of financial dealings that benefited his son, along with having direct involvement with having a Ukrainian prosecutor released from his post (after getting too close to a clear and present international corruption) is not of interest?

This isn't about meddling with the 2020 election, but a full disclosure of the tarnishing of Joe Biden's integrity.

And that's what the Left is up in arms about.

And I can't believe this phone call and the so-called whistle-blower Intel does anything more than make a mockery of the lengths the Left will go to create a reason to impeach this president.

The whistle-blower complaint is a riot to read.   And yet, if this complaint is solely based on what this "whistle-blower" heard, hearsay, having not even been party to the room that keeps the records -- the room where intelligence officers/White House personnel record every presidential phone call in the first place -- then how in tarnation does a complaint like this go anywhere? It's a serious question.

The ridiculousness of this is off the freaking charts!  I mean, really, after all this time, and so much emphasis on collusion and campaign interference -- just who's colluding with who?  DNC anyone?  Hillary campaign anyone?  Adam Schiff anyone? Comey, McCabe...the list can go on and on and on.

 READ the phone call, and you be the judge.   And while you're at it -- just imagine living in a world where every conversation you have is being recorded, and at any moment, could be disclosed for all the world to hear?  This is all gossip gone awry, and it's horrible.   horrible.

And yet, here we are, experiencing en masse, a global meltdown, with children like Greta who will never forgive world leaders for their reckless, irresponsible, shameful response to climate change worldwide...because children like Greta have been led to believe they have less than 12 years to live now.  Right, AOC?   

She's the little miss from Queens who famously declared:  “Millennials and people, you know, Gen Z and all these folks that will come after us, are looking up, and we’re like: ‘The world is gonna end in 12 years if we don’t address climate change, and your biggest issue is how are we gonna pay for it?”

Where is Comey's apology to Trump?   

After all is said and undone -- after purposely, and mindfully, setting up the president for a fall following the infamous Trump Tower meeting, after collecting data on the president, after telling the president to his face that he is not under investigation WHEN  IN FACT THE INVESTIGATION WAS WELL UNDER WAY  --  AND after finding that there is NO evidence of collusion, or obstruction of justice, and  after Comey's entire case was based upon a false dossier, paid for by democrat operatives....Comey expects the apology?

Rep, Elijah Cummings has been a brutal bully, shouting and screaming at the great men & women of Border Patrol about conditions at the Southern Border, when actually his Baltimore district is FAR WORSE and more dangerous. His district is considered the Worst in the USA......

....As proven last week during a Congressional tour, the Border is clean, efficient & well run, just very crowded. Cumming District is a disgusting, rat and rodent infested mess. If he spent more time in Baltimore, maybe he could help clean up this very dangerous & filthy place

Why is so much money sent to the Elijah Cummings district when it is considered the worst run and most dangerous anywhere in the United States. No human being would want to live there. Where is all this money going? How much is stolen? Investigate this corrupt mess immediately!

Don't we all wish for good schools and strong, vibrant communities, living in a  safe, litter free, rat-free, drug-free neighborhood to raise a family? 

The president is not only raising good questions and strong concerns, he is elevating the conversation with a fair dose of absolute truth on the matter.  Baltimore IS a freaking mess and newsflash, Trump had nothing to do with it;  Baltimore's leaders AND Baltimore's residents are responsible for Baltimore's "disgusting, rat and rodent infested mess."

From a August 2017, Sam Faddis writes in the BALTIMORE SUN:

Those days are long gone. Baltimore is on any given day the homicide capital of the United States in terms of murders per capita. Life expectancy in much of West Baltimore is on a par with that of North Korea. The unemployment rate among young black men is close to 40 percent... 

Baltimore's schools are an abject failure. Thirty percent of Baltimore's students never graduate high school. Twenty-one percent of Baltimore's students test as proficient in English, less than 20 percent as proficient in math.

All of this despite 50 years of the so-called war on poverty and Democratic rule in the city. All of this despite the fact that Maryland spends more per student on education in Baltimore City than in any other jurisdiction in the state. All of this despite the fact that the Democratic Party has held a virtual monopoly on elected office in Maryland for decades. The General Assembly is overwhelmingly Democratic. Seven of the eight Congressmen from Maryland are Democrats. Both sitting U.S. Senators are Democrats.

Yes, it would be lovely to rest all the fault at Trump's feet, his critical eye, his harsh words that flow unrelenting and severe out from his twitter feed; yes, it would be lovely to blame Trump for all of what's going wrong, miserable, and racist in every way, whether it be at the border or the mess in Baltimore.

But folks, no matter how many ways we pick it apart, no matter how many times the left labels the president a "racist," the facts show that its the democrats who have failed the big cities and liberal states.   

Here's a bit more from the Uncle Sam Faddis:

The Democratic Party's obsession with high taxes, burdensome regulation and massive, wasteful government programs does none of that. These are the policies that created the problem in the first place and now perpetuate the death spiral in which the city is trapped. That will remain true until such time as the people of Baltimore, and by extension Maryland as a whole, stop blindly supporting a party that has failed them consistently for decades.

And let's see, who else agrees?  The MAYOR of Baltimore herself, Catherine Pugh!

California, my beautiful home state, is steadfastly going in this direction as we speak...from San Francisco to Los Angeles, homelessness, drugs, gangs, welfare, illegal immigrants being offered sanctuary state security with all the perks, high taxes (especially that gas tax!), combined with corporations leaving daily, is creating the very same death spiral conditions on the ground, every single day, and all at the dictates of liberal leadership.

I will commend Representative Elijah Cummings, representing Maryland's 7th District, in his work as Ranking Member for the Committee on Oversight and Reform.   Having said that, is lowering the price on prescription drugs really your district's top concern?  Is it?  Just wondering.

Perhaps, instead of getting defensive about the harsh reality of Baltimore -- or just calling Trump a racist in a knee-jerk reaction -- the leaders, along with the people of Baltimore, should consider accepting taking personal responsibility, each in their own way, to the level and capacity their energies and resources allow.   Baltimore's problems are not overpriced prescription drugs.

The community needs to go back to the basics:

This means, expecting your children to not only go to school, but after school come directly home to do their homework; and why stop there... let's aim for good grades and to graduate High School with the expectation to continue with college!

This means, making healthy connections with friends and neighbors and co-workers and fellow church members, to support each other to do one's best, no matter what conditions our reality may be.

This means, making healthy lifestyle choices -- saying no to drugs, using birth control and protection, eating a balanced diet, getting a fair amount of exercise...just move.

This means, keeping our neighborhoods tidy, maybe even growing a community vegetable garden.

This means, reading more books.

This means, if it's all the same amount of work, really -- choose the pursuit of happiness.  Find happy,  make happy, be happy more often the making yourself, let alone those around you, miserable; proper attitude is probably one of the most important things we can ever choose to do with our time here on earth.

And of course, it also means, pray a little.   That never hurt.  All day long if that's what it takes.  Because there are days that require at least that much no matter how much money you make.

But the thing is, this double standard of calling Trump the crazy racist...when he is just saying the very same things, ideas, that other people have said....and when I say other people, I mean, democrats...this hypocrisy is the real issue.

Your know what I'm grateful for today -- a president that just doesn't back down.  He stays in the conversation, throwing whatever he's got into the mix, and stands all 6'3 unafraid.

Baltimore is the face of a sad, sad commentary of where America is heading. This story has no happy ending, unless all of Baltimore suddenly becomes woke, but in a good way!

Just recently, I was introduced to a lady -- not from Baltimore, but from Pennsylvania -- dating back almost a century.  Her name is Sadie Tanner Mossell Alexander.   She is African-American, born in Philadelphia in 1898.   And her life and story, her expertise and education, defines this divide we bear witness to today, and perhaps explains how today's generation of African-Americans are so messed up in some areas, in some ways...  and of course, given that I AM a WHITE girl, I already understand, I have no right to discuss this subject per my inability to relate fully.  I get that. 

She couldn't get the respect she deserved being a black women aiming to have a career in economics, her first love; but she ended up getting a law degree and working on behalf of civil rights.  Maybe that was where she was supposed to be, who knows.   But, in her economic-minded heart, she knew that the variable of working, full time, was the method of changing lives for the better within her black community.  Work, and work full time.  Make a life.  Strive and thrive. 

And all I can imagine is this Sadie having an attitude to move mountains.  Because she did! 

How sad it is, when I look upon Baltimore, in this day and age...and wonder, just how much a lady like Sadie would change lives today.   

My great grandfather on my father's side, immigrated to Baltimore, and lived in a lovely home and worked as a tailor.  He raised his son, my grandfather, to be something more.  And he was.  He graduated Johns Hopkins and when into aviation engineering...and he's someone I've mentioned many times before.

this country -- AMERICA -- tells a zillion stories... of family, of life, of successes, of failures.  It's a story as old as time itself.

It's time to focus on the ways we come together and learn from our past.

America may not be perfect, but our mission has never changed.  This country is a celebration of life and liberty and the pursuit of happiness, in every way.   But none of this comes easy, or free.

So interesting to see “Progressive” Democrat Congresswomen, who originally came from countries whose governments are a complete and total catastrophe, the worst, most corrupt and inept anywhere in the world (if they even have a functioning government at all), now loudly..........and viciously telling the people of the United States, the greatest and most powerful Nation on earth, how our government is to be run. Why don’t they go back and help fix the totally broken and crime infested places from which they came. Then come back and show us how.......it is done. These places need your help badly, you can’t leave fast enough. I’m sure that Nancy Pelosi would be very happy to quickly work out free travel arrangements!

July 15th was a busy day in twitter world.

Wonder what Ihlan Omar has to say about Hodan this morning, or like yesterday, or even the day before that?  what? like  nothing?   Read her feed for yourself, but only if you are on an empty stomach...go here.

But you would think Ihlan would have some stronger words to use with regards to what IS happening  in her home country, for that's what Somalia truly is -- her one, true, home country; and it's a crappy,  sh@*hole country as it falls apart today.   

To say that Ihlan would not have the liberty to say what she wants to say in Somalia, against the atrocities going on there, against the acts of terrorism upon her home country and people every single day, is an understatement.  She would be attacked, if not killed, if she tried to improve conditions on the ground. let alone aim to improve the Somali government.   SHE would be murdered, just like the Canadian-Somali Journalist --  the one who was pregnant and nearly about to give birth -- Hodan.

We may be a diverse country, but the thing is, America works because -- on our best days -- we aim to assimilate, to become one American culture, as one body of citizens.  There is no white America, black America, brown, red, yellow America; America is designed to be color blind, race blind, religious blind, gender blind....and so on and so on. (Remember some of that from Barack Hussein Obama?...of course you do, it was the speech that led him into the spotlight at the 2004 Democratic Convention.)

A perfect example of what is racist and/or discriminating, is thinking that everyone of a certain color should vote a certain way.  And it goes something like this:

 "We don’t need any more brown faces 

that don’t want to be a brown voice. 

We don’t need black faces 

that don’t want to be a black voice. 

We don’t need Muslims

 that don’t want to be a Muslim voice. 

We don’t need queers 

that don’t want to be a queer voice”

Are her words uniting or dividing us, as a people, as a whole?

but thank you, to the people's representative, Ayanna Pressley, democrat from Massachusetts, for making it so easy to understand how ya'll roll in the squad.  Appreciate the refreshing, raw honesty.  (for more on this, go here)  You can bet she sounds like a racist through and through, even if she isn't.

I wonder what would happen if Trump actually called Rashida Talib a motherf*&er...it's just her words, not mine.  January 4th, 2019 -- "we're going to impeach the motherfucker."  Is it because he is white and is fighting to protect America's foundations?  You can bet she sounds like a racist, too, even if she isn't.

oh but let's return to Ihlan Omar, from one immigrant to another (although illegal!), and in her own words:

"If you are an undocumented immigrant, 

please know that you are 

in my thoughts and that I will keep fighting 

to make our immigration system 

welcome all who seek a better life in our country."

You say this, and in the next breath or on another day, you dare say, "I probably love this country more than anyone who was naturally born... I want America the great to be America the great."

When, in fact, your first allegiance, Ihlan, should be to American citizens, American sovereignty, and America's protection and security, including securing the border. 

And if you cared so much, how come you have voted, alongside your fellow democrats, EIGHTY times against a true blue Humanitarian Aid package to bring about improvements to the border chaos?

Not to mention another fact,  Ihlan -- that America's immigration system is the most open and welcoming in the entire world!  And this goes without saying, but will say it anyway -- the truth is, people immigrate to America because the whole world sees something in America that they like, that they want.  America must be doing something right, right?

My home country origins run the scope of England along with a good portion of European descent, west to east, east to west.  I don't want to go back... to any of my home ancestral counties.  I love America and I'm an American girl through and through. 

And NO, Ihlan -- you don't love America more than me.  Not even close.   I can say so based upon two things -- evidence of my 1010 blogs addressed to Dear America vs. your evidence of a nasty twitter feed.  Neither the color of my skin or yours has anything to do with it.

Is America perfect?  Of course not.
Show me a country without issues.... without a history... without reprehensible acts peppering the landscape with indiscretions, injustices,  and corruption...  and I'll tell you you're a liar.

hmmm wonder how Somalia fits into this conversation? 
No wonder you left.
No wonder you get so hostile if you are threatened with the idea of going back.

As much as I hate the over consumption of who hates what and why, I  must say, I like that we are having the conversation.  And I'm not a racist if I happen to side on the side of this American president.

Certainly, there are days when we expect more from our elected officials, ALL of them- - including our president; but when it comes to Trump, we expected no less.   He is fighting for AMERICA, and is willing to take the hits, left right and center.

The thing is --
Open borders will not make us more compassionate, as a people
Free college tuition will not make us smarter, as a people
Universal Healthcare will not make us healthier, as a people
Higher taxation will not make us richer, as a people of this glorious republic
and we can go on, but I'll leave it at this...

Taking the long view, indiscriminately throwing around the label "racist" will only desensitize us to the ugly reality of witnessing true racism and prolong our ability to come together as a people, as a country, as any group of  300 million decent human beings, striving to live in harmony, in a republic, in a democracy, alike, can be.

I think a long hard look into the mirror and quickly forgetting what color of skin we were born with, might be a good idea right about now.  enough already.

It's Hail to the Chief's Tempered and Measured Response Thing

Dear America,

.. I asked, how many will die. 150 people, sir, was the answer from a General. 10 minutes before the strike I stopped it, not ... proportionate to shooting down an unmanned drone. I am in no hurry, our Military is rebuilt, new, and ready to go, by far the best in the world," Trump said. "Sanctions are biting & more added last night. Iran can NEVER have Nuclear Weapons, not against the USA, and not against the WORLD!"

and people are saying that Iran struck the drone in retaliation to the US pulling out of the Iran Nuclear fraud... to which former NSC Chief of Staff, Fred Frietz, said this:

"That is a fraudulent argument. We don't stay in an agreement because the other party threatens to respond with violence. The president has responded with restraint. He has given [Iran] an opportunity to deescalate the situation, and I think he handled it right today."

and only last week, Tehran is allegedly responsible for the attack on the two oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman.

but just look at this president -- yet again -- respond in tempered and measured ways.

and I like how he phrased it -- softening any assumptions of intentions -- “I would imagine it was a general or somebody who made a mistake by shooting that drone down,” Trump said during an Oval Office meeting Thursday with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. “I find it hard to believe it was intentional. It could have been somebody who was loose and stupid.”

This president is on America's side.

This president continues to act accordingly, and yet, will the media ever rise to the level of respect this president deserves?

Now -- this girl knows full well, this president is not perfect.  But make no mistake, this president's heart is always in the right place.  He loves his country -- our country -- America.

Obama hated America while president, he spent eight years transforming her from foundation to cupola.

Need a few facts--

Although not covering his entire two terms, THIS is a really good review -- going back to 2013 (five years into the Obama Administration) and written by Victor Davis Hanson for National Review.

Like many things that happened under the care of the Obama Administration, Obama was in a position to control the narrative, and that has made all the difference.  And maybe, he didn't need to control a thing -- you know, given his situation that lends itself to being given a pass; you know, when in reality you have an entire media who's got your back.

Although his reflections on race relations during the first five of Obama's years are sound, Victor Davis Hanson neglected to call out the Black Lives Matter protests by name.

Like immigration, the media supports a certain viewpoint.  It leans left.

But the truth is, the facts don't line up all neat and tidy so much...And surprise, surprise, even the Washington comPost couldn't do much about it:

The Post’s reporting shows that both the annual number and circumstances of fatal shootings and the overall demographics of the victims have remained constant over the past four years. 

The dead: 45 percent white men; 23 percent black men; and 16 percent Hispanic men. 

Women have accounted for about 5 percent of those killed, and people in mental distress about 25 percent of all shootings. 

About 54 percent of those killed have been armed with guns and 4 percent unarmed.

To be clear, the Post only began tracking after the Michael Brown shooting, in 2014.  And yet, for the last four years, the numbers have been consistent -- roughly 1000 people are shot by police each year.  And based on those numbers, the Post came to these startling conclusions and stats.

Now, I've never been in a police altercation -- I've been pulled over for rolling through a stop sign, but that's about the height of it.  Even then, I was nervous reaching to get my proof of insurance.  It is an intimidating situation...and during the whole ten minutes at the curb, awaiting his check for outstanding warrants and what not, I tried to politely speak my case.  But he would have none of it.  I went to court to fight it, and he didn't even bother to show up. Ticket ripped up, boom.

But the point is, police are confronted with all kinds of humanity all the live long day.

It is interesting to note that women account for only 5 percent of those killed by police.  Is that because we are generally more polite to authority?  Or could it be that women are less likely to be bad actors in the first place?  Who knows.

But I digress.

Instead of Barack Obama making any improvements in race relations, he took America backwards, and made us all the more divided -- as he emphasized our differences, not our commonality.  He also made no attempt to talk to all citizens in the art of being good citizens, no matter from kindergarten to our death.

He lost such an opportunity for a few civic lessons along the way.

It's simple stuff really -- things like 'go to school'  'do your homework'  'respect your parents'  'respect your children'  'don't do drugs'  'get a job'  'dress appropriately'  'open doors for people'  'read books'  'pick up trash'  'don't litter in the first place'   'salute the flag'  'follow the rules'  'follow the law'  'don't break the law in the first place'  'immigrate to America by standing in line with everyone else'  'don't attempt to illegally cross America's border in the first place'   and on and on we could go.

let's get back to policy undomestic, shall we?

Victor Davis Hanson said this back in 2013, regarding Obama's transformation of America's foreign policy --

Foreign policy. What is the common theme to the euphemisms about terrorism and radical Islam, the failed reset with Russia, withdrawal from Iraq, confusion in Afghanistan, lead-from-behind in Libya, pink lines and pseudo–“game changers” in Syria, the faux deadlines with Iran, mesmerization with Turkey, peace feelers to Nicaragua, Cuba, and Venezuela, as well as the rhetorical tropes found in the Cairo speech, the U.N. addresses, and the Al-Arabiya interview?

Just as, in Obama’s worldview, the 1 percent exercise undue influence in the United States, so too abroad America has exercised exceptional power and influence that either are not warranted by its traditions and history, or do not contribute to stability and social justice in the world at large. Fundamentally transforming the role of the U.S. means tilting toward countries that are suspicious of the Western tradition, and favoring groups and countries like Turkey, the Muslim Brotherhood, and the Palestinians that have supposedly legitimate grievances against the United States. The goal? Probably, the transformation of the U.S. into something like the EU, whose democratic socialism is manifested abroad with soft-power lectures.

The truth is -- the Obama Administration is more to blame for the current climate around the globe.  His entire foreign policy was based upon capitulation, from making blanket apologies in the Middle East, to bowing to Iran's calculated negotiations, allowing for the nonsense we bear witness to today.

and just look how tempered and measured this girl can be, taking in this long look in the rear-view mirror without incident of the f-bomb kind.   oh me oh my, detecting a wee bit of growth, eh?

It's a D Day all about the WE Thing

Dear America,

THE PRESIDENT:  President Macron, Mrs. Macron, and the people of France; to the First Lady of the United States and members of the United States Congress; to distinguished guests, veterans, and my fellow Americans:

We are gathered here on Freedom’s Altar.  On these shores, on these bluffs, on this day 75 years ago, 10,000 men shed their blood, and thousands sacrificed their lives, for their brothers, for their countries, and for the survival of liberty.

Today, we remember those who fell, and we honor all who fought right here in Normandy.  They won back this ground for civilization.

To more than 170 veterans of the Second World War who join us today: You are among the very greatest Americans who will ever live.  You’re the pride of our nation.  You are the glory of our republic.  And we thank 

you from the bottom of our hearts.  (Applause.)

Here with you are over 60 veterans who landed on D-Day.  Our debt to you is everlasting.  Today, we express our undying gratitude.

But we must reject the politics 

of revenge, resistance, and retribution --

and yet, the ladies in white just couldn't stand for it...

Let's talk about these ladies, for just a minute, shall we?

First, they were all democrats; and yet, they were intended to be seen in a show of solidarity, mirroring the white dresses of the suffragettes, in support of  "all women..."  hmmmmm

Did they reflect the ideology of this woman? me?   um. no.

Did they reflect the ideology of this woman....Star Parker?  um.  no.

Peggy Noonan was quick on the twitter to say, "“And good natured with the white jackets, who I see some on twitter are calling the straight jackets. AOC had a rare bad night, looking not spirited, warm and original as usual but sullen, teenaged and at a loss."  

To which, AOC replied:“Tonight was an unsettling night for our country. The president failed to offer any plan, any vision at all, for our future. We’re flying without a pilot. And I‘m not here to comfort anyone about that fact.”

And given how long a speech it was....82 minutes to be exact....this year's SOTU even tops last year's numbers, and even toppled the viewership of Obama's SOTU in 2011.  

Anywho, Alexandria -- you may wanna rethink how the American people think about things..."unsettling" may not be where we're at. just sayin'

Perhaps her white pant suit's in a wad over this:

"Tonight, I ask you to choose greatness."

or this:

In just over 2 years since the election, we have launched an unprecedented economic boom -- a boom that has rarely been seen before. We have created 5.3 million new jobs and importantly added 600,000 new manufacturing jobs -- something which almost everyone said was impossible to do, but the fact is, we are just getting started.

We eliminated the very unpopular Obamacare individual mandate penalty -- and to give critically ill patients access to life-saving cures, we passed right to try.

We have unleashed a revolution in American energy -- the United States is now the number one producer of oil and natural gas in the world. And now, for the first time in 65 years, we are a net exporter of energy.

or this:

Inspired by stories like Alice's, my Administration worked closely with members of both parties to sign the First Step Act into law. This legislation reformed sentencing laws that have wrongly and disproportionately harmed the African-American community. 

or this:

In the last 2 years, our brave ICE officers made 266,000 arrests of criminal aliens, including those charged or convicted of nearly 100,000 assaults, 30,000 sex crimes, and 4,000 killings.

or this:

We are joined tonight by one of those law enforcement heroes: ICE Special Agent Elvin Hernandez. When Elvin was a boy, he and his family legally immigrated to the United States from the Dominican Republic. At the age of eight, Elvin told his dad he wanted to become a Special Agent. Today, he leads investigations into the scourge of international sex trafficking. Elvin says: "If I can make sure these young girls get their justice, I've done my job." Thanks to his work and that of his colleagues, more than 300 women and girls have been rescued from horror and more than 1,500 sadistic traffickers have been put behind bars in the last year.

oh finally, we get a win, and the AOC stands up and high fives to this:

No one has benefitted more from our thriving economy than women, who have filled 58 percent of the new jobs created in the last year. All Americans can be proud that we have more women in the workforce than ever before -- and exactly one century after the Congress passed the Constitutional amendment giving women the right to vote, we also have more women serving in the Congress than ever before

Can you say 'she sells shallow sea shells from sea to shining sea'  ten times?

And yet, for the AOC...and her fellow democrats...it's not enough; not even close.

In AOC terms -- in twelve years, she predicts that the world is going to end if we don't address climate change; oh, and here's her companion piece of legislation to go with that...see Green New Deal details.

To which I wonder, why do we need a Green New Deal if the world is ending in twelve years anyway?

In a perfect world -- in terms of life goals and aspirations of the young AOC -- we would all be socialists by now.

What say you, Mr. President?

Here, in the United States, we are alarmed by new calls to adopt socialism in our country. America was founded on liberty and independence --- not government coercion, domination, and control. We are born free, and we will stay free. Tonight, we renew our resolve that America will never be a socialist country.

indeed, indeed.

And yet, in truth -- in reality and not made for TV --  government dependency is on the rise.  Year in and year out, our welfare budget grows at a faster rate than our military budget and national security combined, by far.  To put it in proper perspective, our Military gets a budget of about 716 Billion dollars in 2019; while our welfare system, dedicates 721 Billion to Medicare alone, and another 458 Billion to various other welfare programs, making a grand total of $1,179 Billion..........over a trillion dollars.

And the Dem's quibble about 5.7 Billion dollars...

and about this ending.........

Everything that has come since -- our triumph over communism, our giant leaps of science and discovery, our unrivaled progress toward equality and justice -- all of it is possible thanks to the blood and tears and courage and vision of the Americans who came before. 

Think of this Capitol -- think of this very chamber, where lawmakers before you voted to end slavery, to build the railroads and the highways, to defeat fascism, to secure civil rights, to face down an evil empire. 

Here tonight, we have legislators from across this magnificent republic. You have come from the rocky shores of Maine and the volcanic peaks of Hawaii; from the snowy woods of Wisconsin and the red deserts of Arizona; from the green farms of Kentucky and the golden beaches of California. Together, we represent the most extraordinary Nation in all of history. 

What will we do with this moment? How will we be remembered?

....We must choose whether we are defined by our differences -- or whether we dare to transcend them. 

We must choose whether we will squander our inheritance -- or whether we will proudly declare that we are Americans. We do the incredible. We defy the impossible. We conquer the unknown...

 "I am asking you to choose greatness," he goes on to say.

And this girl is right there with him.

It was a good night for America, Mr. President.  Thank you.

But to Alex from the Bronx -- the girl with the degree in economics, no less -- um.  me thinks you need to be less concentrated on making fashion statements of political threads and shreds, and better immersed in the things and ideals that have actually stitched this nation together.

Our founders wove an exquisite weave of the best policies of the ages -- from Aristotle, the Greeks, we gathered ideas like this:  "even the best of men in authority are liable to be corrupted by passion.  We may conclude then that the law is reason without passion, and it is therefore preferable to any individual."

From the Romans, Cicero recognized the connection between mankind and Nature's Law, and used this as a guide for not only personal behavior, but how society must apply this connection while constructing its foundation:  "For these virtues originate in our natural inclination to love our fellow-men, and this is the foundation of justice."  In other words, and returning to The 5000 Year Leap for an assist -- " ...the glue which holds a body of human beings together in the commonwealth of a just society is love -- love of God; love of God's great law of Justice; and love of one's fellow-men which provides the desire to promote true justice among mankind."

From Jerusalem -- we simply find the basis  to every thing under heaven; choosing to believe in a faith of Something Greater than ourselves, or not -- it is another choice we make; in the simplest of terms, the commonwealth that became America started at the very beginning, applying The Ten Commandments as the very foundation of our system of laws, individually and collectively.

We are a nation intended to be designed -- and manufactured in the great USA -- of independent people, not of a people totally dependent upon Uncle Sam, or the Democratic party, to fulfill all our dreams....for we all know how that ends, right; it ends -- within twelve years quite possibly --  with an equal sharing of misery.  badump ba

Oh but Troward was only just getting started,

continuing to sum up the Master's teaching, "that knowledge of the Truth would make us free. Here is no announcement of anything we have to do, or of anything that has to be done for us, in order to gain our liberty, neither is it a statement of anything future.  Truth is what is.  He did not say, you must wait till something becomes true which is not true now.  He said:  'Know what is Truth now, and you will find that the Truth concerning yourself is Liberty.' If the knowledge of Truth makes us free it can only be because in truth we are free already, only we do not know it."

THIS knowledge of the TRUTH. this liberty, and many other pillars of virtue --  of faith, of courage, of the hidden power to change an entire culture -- is the reason why the preachings and teachings by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. were so remarkable; and in the context of American history, itself, unparalleled to this day.

I say this nearly every anniversary of his birth -- oh how I wish he were here.

From the president's twitter:  "Today we celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. for standing up for the self-evident truth Americans hold so dear, that no matter what the color of our skin or the place of our birth, we are all created equal by God. #MLKDay"

Troward expresses this idea like so -- "[O]ur liberty consists in our reproducing on the scale of the individual the same creative power of Thought which first brought the world into existence, 'so that the things which are seen were not made of the things which do appear.'  Let us, then, confidently claim our birthright as 'sons and daughters of the Almighty,' and by habitually thinking the good, the beautiful, and the true, surround ourselves with conditions corresponding to our thoughts, and by our teaching and example help others to do the same."

Dr. King LED by following these teachings of the Word, and led by example, opening up a world of new thought, while pointing all Americans in the direction of right thinking, so that one day his dream -- of relating to each other beyond the color of our skin, and of being far more interested in our character -- would one day be living inside the hearts and minds of us all.

One thing is for sure, in addressing where race relations are today -- it would help a whole helluva lot if we started with the truth of the matter, from the start.

People like Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders -- who are using this sentimental day to push fake news and propaganda, is simply bad form and unnecessary... unless, of course, they only wish to stir lies to push an agenda, or delegitimize and disparage a sitting president. 

"We've learned in the last two years, it doesn't take much to awaken hate, to bring those folks out from under the rocks," Biden said. "That part of American society has always been there. Will always be here. But has been legitimized."  (Whatta dark thought, isn't it)

"It gives me no pleasure to tell you that we now have a president of the United States who is a racist... "  Bernie addressing a crowd today.  (And whatta about that for another dark thought...)

I mean, c'mon, this president has actually done more to improve the lives of African-Americans by his strong stance on illegal immigration, his intent to build a wall to control the gang violence and the illegal drug flow into this country, improving the economy by eliminating harmful government regulations and thereby creating more job opportunities for everyone, and has just completed major prison reform laws! ...something not even a President Barack Obama and VP Joe Biden could do, let alone show any sign of attempt!

It was Joe Biden that spoke of Barack as being -- oh how did he put it -- let's hear it again:

"I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy," Biden said. "I mean, that's a storybook, man." 

Articulate?
Bright?
Clean?

um ABC on CNN... three strikes, you're out, Joe.

But this Bernie quote from today  --  of course, Trump is not strong on character in many departments, but calling him a racist, is a flat out character assassination without cause. But the best part, is Bernie beginning with, "it gives me no pleasure...;"  Seriously, Bernie?  but we digress.

It's not like anyone in the left-wing media is going to call him on it, either; I mean, they -- this media of ours -- are still choking on a couple of other stories that turned out to be downright manufactured.

It's more like BuzzKill the truth; or BuzzFuzzylittleliars; or BuzzSpeed swirling recklessly to a lawsuit, or two.

Thing is, it doesn't even matter once something gets out there -- whether it's truth or dare or scare; what's done is done.

Much like football; once the call of the ref is done, it's kinda done; replay can only take the truth so far.  And even if the truth is, a huuuge mistake -- a mind-blowing bad call on the field -- it is still done.  Of course, in real life, this meant a difference between going to the Super Bowl and marching home until the Saints can try try again.

Now -- full disclosure, I was rooting for the Rams; but it's irrelevant with what I am about to say:  I think -- and have been thinking for quite some time -- that the penalty we recognize as "pass interference" has got to go.  Maybe its just me....but I believe in the power of both teams having the chance to interfere with a pass, fair and square.  It's football! This is what it's all about!

The whole truth of the matter  -- good and bad "pass interference" calls have led to a change in possession, to touchdowns, and have interfered with  regular season games, all the live long day and all season long.  All season long.  Am I right? 

Truth is always in motion -- from football, to thinkers, to preachers, to teachers, to communicators of all things large and small.

Let me ask you, honestly, did this one bad call, made by the refs, even after a replay, and then more replay, really decide the game --- making way for the reason the season was over for the Saints?  Let's ask Colin Cowherd. 

Oh how I do like a clear thinker and communicator...hubba hubba; my baby's a lot like this...mmmm what a man, what a man, what a man....whatta mighty good man...oh, man, girl... get a grip on yourself...and stop your daydreaming and stay focused on the task at hand....indeed.

To the real thing baby:  Truth carries the Power to Set Us Free; and how. That is, if we get out of our own way,  thereby tapping into an atmosphere of less interference and more sound connection; if we use it less for injury and more for understanding, can I get an amen?
