It's Sudden Death; and It's So Quiet We Can Hear Our Heartbeat Thing

Dear America,

wow.  we are in one sticky wicket, aren't we?

as the rhetoric ramping up the arguments against the so-called "establishment" versus real tea party conservatives continues...and strangely enough...the loudest cries coming from the well-established GOP candidates.


It's been happening for weeks now -- Gingrich, Santorum, Paul -- all raising concerns against one guy, the favorite, the one who looks as if he's got it all tied up right now.

truth is, I only watch this kind of stuff at the tail end...tuning in somewhere around the 17th hole on the last day.  How anyone can watch golf for three days straight [especially on T.V.] is beyond me; but hey, to each his own, right?  But it would behoove me to mention, I could have just moved myself off the couch and showed up personally to watch the sights, as this Taylor-made extravaganza happens to go on right in my own backyard.

and let me tell you...it has been beautiful for the event this year; it's not always the case...for some reason the universe sends in the clouds and drizzle year in and year out.  But this year....OH   MY   GOODNESS.  it was simply gorgeous. the great pacific was glistening. the torrey pines were smiling.  the egrets were wondering why their favorite watering hole was so crowded.  but I digress.


anyway...Brandt Snedeker was packing up his nine iron when something crazy occurred.  Kyle Stanley choked on the eighteenth hole.  Snedeker was called back to play a sudden death.

They tied it up in the first go round; then, playing the second hole in sudden death [at the 16th hole, i think] it appeared like it was all over for Snedeker for a second time, as he landed somewhere in the rough, down an embankment, and more or less, might as well consider it over the river and through the woods.

but noooooo.
that wasn't the way the universe was gonna let it go down.

long story short, Stanley met his match [even if only in his own mind].

Snedeker came back in sudden death to win the whole thing.

to watch it all unfold right before your eyes, unbelievable.  but what do I know, right?

But back to the politics of pulling bogeys and birdies on the campaign trail --

you know what makes this girl crazy?  listening to a candidate who one day calls the favorite 'a lying, capitalist pig...  who did nothing to warrant his 21 million dollar payday last year' [or something like that...and maybe not all in the same breath] -- to the same guy saying something like, 'I'll endorse him if I have to.'

That's just it.
Americans who truly love this country will come around, even in sudden death, and endorse whichever GOP candidate remains...BECAUSE we all know the country is toast if Obama gets re-elected. 

[and even in spite of people like Sarah Palin calling on Floridians to vote for Newt just to 'annoy a liberal'...which is normally not a good enough reason to vote for anybody...just sayin']

all I want to ask Sarah is how can you, of all people, endorse a Newt after he has spent weeks bashing capitalism and the very free market that made Romney --  the business man and millionaire, and most likely, a damn good golfer -- who he is today?

Just where is her critical, eagle eye picking Newt's pot shots apart, fair and balanced?  And how in the world does Newt get a pass from being considered part of 'the establishment'?   For goodness sakes, he has made a career of what, forty or fifty years, in government, working steadfastly for the republican party!   He's like the poster boy of the GOP establishment, much like Tiger is to GOlf (well, maybe not so much now).

but it's not just her -- it seems like every time we turn around, we are tripping over another conservative pundit popping their head up to be the next Newt caddy. 

The reality is, every single one of them (of those remaining in the GOP lineup) are established politicians of the republican kind. they are kinda all the same, but different.

Stanley or Snedeker; Gingrich or Romney; does it really matter?

honestly...

Sure, for Snedeker it matters -- but for the rest of the golf world, not so much; it goes into the history books as 'it wasn't me.'  But more than that, GOLF, in the macro, goes on just the same as it ever was.

The thing is, according to me, G, America is in sudden death.  And we can't afford going on in the same way, same as it ever was.

Against the well-established Obama administration -- a guy who, according to a CNN article from way back in 2010 'plays more [golf] than Bush'...a guy who, as of LAST summer, totaled 75 [golf] outings   -- ANY one of the foursome remaining will do just fine. [key word there is FOURSOME. isn't it crazy that the media has decided to stop talking about the other two?  it's not over, till it's over]

Which one is the very best for changing the status quo?

It's early.  We still have the back nine to play out.

It is the media, who would have us believe that Obama has got this thing all tied up [but that discussion must be saved for another day].

It's an All Grown Up Thing

Such is the administration of "transparency" --  we only get some in the areas a see through curtain isn't necessary,  warranted, or in the least bit, should be encouraged -- which covers all kinds of indiscretions, large and small, from the countless days leading as Campaigner-in-Chief and feeding the audience what it wants to hear --  to his minions, like the twitter-twit of an Anthony Wiener...which falls into the TMI category right quick.  boys will be boys.

happy tuesday everybody.  moving on to other things...

so --  last night -- the debate in New Hampshire -- sure did a bang up job solidifying the repeal of a presidency gone wild (and with it: obamacare, the unsanctioned war in Libya, the power of the federal reserve, the overzealous actions of the EPA, the growth of government...to the tune of 35% increase of our debt and the 20% unsustainable growth of our federal bureaucracy just to name the top five on the night).

That, along with casting a brand new light of things of little or no importance, bearing insight on the likes and dislikes for fascinating, yet petty points of interest.  For instance, Cain prefers "deep dish" over thin -- and Bachmann (in the only moment of the debate when she sounded indecisive), when she could not make up her mind between Elvis Presley or Johnny Cash.  [G note: going with a 'little less conversation' over 'walking the line' without even skipping a beat.]

Taking the lead from last night's moderator, CNN's John King, if we go the route of "this or that" or pass or fail, allow me to break things down in a jiffy:

Gingrich gave it a go to redeem himself (pass);

Pawlenty gave a fighting spirit to shake his 'vanilla-ness' (pass);

Cain gave it grandpa love with his folksy werther's appeal (pass);

Paul gave it a big throw down on the Fed, the Federal Reserve, and nearly every federal facet run amuck known to man, sometimes without taking a breath (pass);

Santorum gave it the college try against the oppressor flashing his young guns all around (pass);

Romney gave it full throttle politician (pass); and

Bachmann gave it her good girl goes to washington -- with all of her 28 kids -- and brings home the bacon and fries it up in the pan and still finding time to look damn good,  making it all look so easy breezy beautiful cover girl (pass).  [yes, go right ahead, and count all the decades we touched upon there]

They all passed, and some with flying colors.

The common refrain was making Obama a one term president; and even, just Today, the president remarked on just that:  From the Today Show with Ann Curry, he said, "Michelle and the kids are wonderful in that if I said, 'You know, guys, I want to do something different,' they'd be fine. They're not invested in daddy being president or my husband being president. But they do believe in what we're doing,"  Fine by me.  For more, go here.

All in all, any one of these guys (and doll) would be totally worthy of the office of the presidency -- not to say, that we, the people, do not have personal preferences already lining up.  We do.  But isn't it wonderful that the gang of seven last night are shades of what is to come.

And more than that, I am pleased to see that, more often than not, the diversity within the party is something of both mystery and majesty in motion; conservatives, especially, are not all cut from the same cloth -- we do not agree, hands down, on all things.  And what a joy it is to witness; there are all kinds of possibilities even when following along in ideology and standing side by side on stage; albeit somewhat predictable in part, it was a lively debate on ideas even within a single political thread.

Unlike the narrow minded pattern leading from the Left -- who seem to run on riot, rage, agenda and chaos -- the right is not led by the Union label, manufacturing divisiveness to create the fabric of social change, all the while usurping the powers of the people and this republic's Constitution.  The Right welcomes the opportunity for debate on the merits, in hopes of weaving the best solution, on all fronts from head to toe.

We have only just begun the political process of electing the next president of the United States.  But if all goes right, it will be someone brand new.  We don't have all the answers yet; all that has yet to be revealed.

And, as such, the anticipation alone might just get the best of us.  kinda of like waiting for a birthday or something.  America is experiencing a deep-seated need for change, only different; for it is all about the fundamental return to the finer details of what it means to keep our REPUBLIC safe and sound.

The thing is, we might be growing up.

And much like the benefits and challenges of growing a year older, we are wiser and fully aware of the set of new responsibilities that come along with reaching a new age -- and, at the same time, we are filled with excitement for all the brand new things that we can do now that we are, you know,  a year older and wiser.

We know what to do with the brand new bike; for we know what we did with the last one -- the one left out in the rain for days on end, the same one we have habitually thrown to the side of the house without a care of either scratch or knocking off the bell.  We know what we did last summer, and the summer before that, and the one before that. 

All we could ever want now is another chance from the folks to trust us, for this time would be different -- even though, deep down we know,  we hardly deserve it (we just would never be caught dead admitting it).  Strangely, something seems to be happening within us -- that, along with our voices squeaking -- we have reached a pivotal time in our lives all together; and, in a remarkable turn of the seasons, we get it now; we know, that if we got a chance to do it all again,  we would cherish that bike in every way.

Of course, all things considered,  it is hardly worth lamenting all the ways we abused the old red schwinn -- not in this age where the misery index loves company; it is just time to move on and begin anew.  Out with the old and in with the new -- even if it is blue. (like everything else these days, "shovel ready was not as shovel ready as to be expected" per obama, hardy har har, meeting with his jobs council just yesterday, but I digress)


We will take what we get and roll with it.
We will take good care of it and never take it for granted again.
We will revel in the new age, a new morning in America -- and thrive --  riding like the wind.
And, we will, never forget. 

happy birthday to me -- and to you -- a new day is about to begin.  Last night reminded me of how much I can hardly wait --  and, who knows, like birthday wish lists past and present, we might change our mind a number of times before the year is done and then some; which, in my experience, is a phenomenon totally expected dealing with the adolescent mind (and don't argue with me, we are, as I scream from the other room and slamming the door behind me).  Roll the eyes here.

In any event, yippy skippy  -- hip hip hooray for miss usa -- she just might turn out alright.  time will tell.and, shedding some light on mama's little secret,  goes a whole lot better with a little wine.  cheers.

and, just maybe it is time for a girl to take the handle bars.

sure.
500 BILLION dollars gets taken out of MEDICARE over ten years, and at the same time, "double-counted" to help pay for OBAMACARE  -- admittedly, by our very own HHS gal herself, Kathleen Sebelius -- and nobody thinks twice about it.  Yes, it is old news, but read it anyway:  "Both."  She said.

Where were all the liberal talking heads when this was happening behind closed doors, in the season of "we have to pass the bill so you can find out what is in it," spoken like a real winner, Nancy Pelosi?

And it is the republicans reduced to partisan demagoguery?  

Medicare becomes the splintering issue that impairs the republican from New York? Medicare?

Is that how we are going to spin that?

Never mind that Corwin was attempting to take back the House seat recently made available when another republican thought he was 'all that' and flaunted it across the pick up places along the web (thank you to the idiot in the back - aka Chris Lee, or GetsomeGOPLeeforfree/my space/facebook/craigslist).

Never mind that the Democrat only got 47% of the vote, the Republican 43% and the stupid democrat, the one who repackaged himself into a phony Tea Party candidate, got away with 9% of the vote...details.

Never mind that Corwin didn't sell herself as clearly as her opponent did...or was it maybe her own flip-flop tendencies that stood in her way...hmmmmm...the world may never know.

So - the Left - believes that the election was a referendum on Medicare...

Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, from Florida, put it like this:

"[Jane Corwin] found out the hard way that their extreme plans to abolish Medicare and slash Medicaid and investments in health care, education, innovation and job creation are wrongheaded and unpopular, even in a district that should have been a cakewalk for the Republican candidate."

G note: It is the Ryan Plan that attempts to save Medicare from it's fate -- which is a sure death --  just in case anyone is wondering.

Just who is in charge here?
Where is our spin machine headquarters figuring out the pesky details of how to play out governing and legislating and propaganda to our advantage?   I don't understand how the left can BREAK Medicare in two, with one swing, and get away with it (...oh yeah, along with permanently injuring Healthcare in general, and harnessing the final blow that kills, under Obamacare, if talking specifics)

Where were all you lefty's screaming about that?  Hey, leave my medicare alone...hey, hands off my medicare...hey, mom, he's touching me...stop touching me and my medicare. waaaah

With all due respect to the honorable lady from Flo, I say, the election was nothing more than a set up.

And heads up, people, this is just the beginning.

The left is masterminding a cruel twist of fate for all republicans, taking the lead right out of Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals.  Do whatever you must do -- as the end justifies the means -- use ridicule, lie, cheat, even make up tea party candidates to throw into the ring just to act as the third wheel -- capitalizing on skills learned, following years of indoctrination in our schools, under curriculum widely recognized as simply The New Math.  Dividing the Republican vote. Brilliant.

And then we have Wasserman-Schultz jumping in and making one more lasting impression:

"It demonstrates that Republicans 

and independent voters, 

along with Democrats, 

will reject extreme policies 

like ending Medicare 

that even Newt Gingrich called radical..."

Doink, der it is.  We will be hearing Newt's name, recently made synonymous with Radicalized Medicare and the brute severity of the republican agenda, from now and until 2012. joy joy  I think I gotta throw up.

Clearly, the right wing is in dire need of a new PR Adviser -- scratch that, make that an army of one.

For this is what we are up against:  the Obama administration is using OUR MONEY to develop just that --  creating an entire team simply to manufacture clever, timely, comebacks for every left wing issue that comes flying their way; the departments sole purpose is expressly defined to include, but is not limited to:  to deflect, diffuse, deflate the negative -- to dissect and separate so-called truths from the so-called untruths --  to fully demonize, if not criminalize, the opposition -- and ultimately deflate, or eliminate, any right wing power whatsoever.

And, if it all goes right, stifling every last shred of independent thought in the process.

America meets red army meets organization meets division meets social justice meets unlimited government meets limited freedoms meets chaos meets destruction meets the end of America as we know it.  It is universal, you know.  

What really got me going today was not even the New York election or Debbie Wasserman-Schultz, or Medicare, the swat at a Newt, or even the introduction of a brand new Czar in charge of PR...what I really set out to highlight was a little something our president said, in the company of an audience in Great Britain.

"The path has never been perfect,"

he said. 

"But through the struggles of slaves and immigrants; 

women and ethnic minorities; 

former colonies and persecuted religions, 

we have learned better than most 

that the longing for freedom and human dignity 

is not English 

or American 

or Western — 

it is universal."

Sure the longing part of it, may be Universal; but the creation of It in the first place, came right out of the birth of the New World, the Western World, and marked by absolute and distinct characteristics, held to such high standards, that the rest of the world wanted to follow.  And as a matter of fact, would do almost anything for it --  even in the midst of terror, tyranny, and theocracy raging wild (like in the Middle East).

It was America who made it.  Created it.  Defined it, in no uncertain terms.  AND ELEVATED it to it's highest honor. Say what you will about it, but IT is ALL American ideals, American liberties, American Principles;  these are the things OUR FOUNDERS manufactured following years of oppression, masterminding with one another upon the philosophies of the aged, grown from the seeds of the enlightened minds who came before us, anchored by a belief in something Greater than ourselves -- endowed by our Creator -- with certain unalienable rights and duties and freedoms.

Everything that came before -- along with everything that came after -- became the work of Divine Providence.

America was the first republic to set a people truly free.

...any other place we happen to witness it, is directly related to the principles and values set in motion by the founders of  the United States of America, and nothing less.

The most striking reality we face today -- the one that nobody is willing to say out loud for fear of being persecuted in the press and deemed an outright right wing racist -- is that our president is breaking America in two.

He has returned us to an era of divide and conquer, in order to legislate and mandate and regulate a brand new world; his call for fundamental transformation back in 2008 was not just rhetoric to get elected, it spelled out his entire agenda.  He INTENDS to reverse every independent, self-reliant, libertarian, republic-an, free market, limited government -- in principle and in practice -- commitment we've ever made.

Just look at the things his hand has touched --

• Health care, medicare, medicaid (all adversely effected under Obamacare and cutting Insurance companies off at the knees), 
• Energy independence (drilling moratoriums, domestic drilling down 43% from Bush Admin),
• And along those lines, took the Radical, Extreme approach in responding to the BP Oil Spill,
• Enacting new Business regulations (hundreds of thousands) and crony capitalism (Chamber of Commerce vs. GE, GM),  
• Union favoritism (Richard Trumka/Andy Stern on speed dial), 
• Government control of private companies (Boeing), 
• Department of Justice suing our own CIA agents for following through with orders -- while also playing the race card on multiple cases, creating an entire department for the cause -- while also suing a state (AZ) for simply enforcing the law of the land -- while also defending the Affordable Health Care Act which forces individual mandates -- while choosing not to defend DOMA simply because the president said so.
• Jeopardizing a long time "sacrosanct" accord with Israel and indirectly, making nice with Hamas, 
• Waging a third war in Libya without getting Congressional approval after sixty days, 
• Through his new energy policies alone -- doubling the price of gasoline over the course of  two years (and exponentially affecting the price of other commodities, and directly increasing the cost of basic needs, as well) 
• HE HAS MADE OUR DIFFERENCES the foothold for widening a divide -- creating mistrust where there was none, adding insult to injury where there was no cause -- as if FUNDAMENTALLY TRANSFORMING the melting pot into one hot mess simply by asking a question:  'got a light?'

Either way you look at it, America is on fire and by the looks of things, we have no where to turn.

Either way, by your way or mine, we are cut in two.

It is 500 billion of one, a half a trillion of another --- and sometimes, it's both.

We are clamoring for the floor.
We are screaming so loudly over one another,  nobody really hears a thing.
We can't even see the door.
It is dark.  Everybody is either yelling or crying or laughing into hysterics.
There is no way we will all get out alive, if we continue to think we can just climb over one another to save ourselves.

the thing is,
I think if we just calmly took each other by the hand and talked about it-- keeping on topic, and clinging to the merits and principles of all that is right and good and according to our roots -- we might have half a chance to make it out alive AND well.

It isn't just talk, Mr. President; and it certainly isn't propaganda to shape-shift according to audience; it is what we do.  Now, take my hand, and I will be happy to show you the way (Debbie, you're welcome to come along, too, along with all of your Lefty friends).

how else can I piss you off today?

two for two.  yes I did -- I'm on a fender bender. just because it cracks me up.

and you know who fits this today, for real?  retired Governator of Caleeforneeyah; how many ways of wrong can this man go?  Honestly.  Not to mention, how on God's great earth did it take Maria so long?

And don't you just love the idea that when it comes to life, especially in politics, everything eventually becomes known; secrets last about fifteen minutes.

But continuing along the same vein of white, straight, republican males -- because the subject is so topical these days -- this girl is loving how the contest is shaping up.  If for no other reason, the amusement factor seems to be carrying me; anticipation probably coming in a close second.

It's not so much the hysterics back behind those who come out announcing 'I'm in' and when and taking a painful amount of time just to spit it out (giving a respectable nod to Ron Paul) -- or even the sudden, 'I'm out...even though I could have won' guy (showing the disrespectful middle finger to Donald Trump).  Those are the things begging to be irrelevant when all things are said and done.

It's more like the battle hymn of the new republic being played out under the guise of the mainstream liberal media --  the juxtaposing the remaining field up against their Savior -- the extended critical eye hanging over the field of contenders, as if they really care -- the 'oh no, not Huckabee; he really had something going on there..that's gotta hurt'  --  and basically, making a continuous mockery and laughing stock of anyone who would dare step up to the challenge OR, falling back on yesterday's theme, simply calling them all 'racist' at every chance they get.... 

and the first one that comes to mind:

"First of all, you gave a speech in Georgia with language a lot of people think could be coded racially-tinged language, calling the president, the first black president, a food stamp president," just throwing it out for kicks and giggles, David Gregory, of NBC's Meet the Press.

"oh c'mon David," said Newt

"what did you mean? what was the point?" as Gregory digs a couple of nails in further...

"That's, that's bizarre. That--this kind of automatic reference to racism, this is the president of the United States. The president of the United States has to be held accountable. Now, the idea that--and what I said is factually true. Forty-seven million Americans are on food stamps. One out of every six Americans is on food stamps. And to hide behind the charge of racism? I have--I have never said anything about President Obama which is racist."

"Never," he said -- as Gregory responds with a gesture..making a big fat W with his hands...what ever...

and really, what Newt said is all true, as sad and unbelievable as it sounds; the use of Food Stamps has increased by nearly 20% over the last year alone. It is about the highest it's ever been in almost thirty years.  Go ahead....just punch in food stamps into your browser and see what happens.

So what, can we not talk about food stamps, government subsidies to needy families, welfare and the like with a president who happens to be black?  really?  how reverse racist and perverse is that?  Do we not all want a president to be able to address and speak and answer to the very things our nation and our people struggle with on a daily basis, no matter what the color of his/her skin?  doesn't Gregory find the reality of one in six Americans living on food stamps, having increased exponentially under Obama's watch, a concern?

Oh that's right: it's the 'white, straight, republican male' syndrome at it again.  Gosh, this is going to be a fun election cycle.

Now, if we are going to be honest here...Newt is following in the Governator's footsteps all too easily.  Please, Newt, bow out right now before somebody gets hurt.  We, the constituency, care more for Paul Ryan than we do for you, just sayin'; throwing him under the proverbial campaign bus was so wrong -- equating the Ryan plan to some form of extremism?  seriously?  ...ho hum, just another radical, right wing, social engineering scheme that won't work -- left or right -- these plans don't work...or something like that...(appearing in costume as the wise old ghost of budget's past)

But hey, let's not get in the way of Ryan's own response: "with allies like that who needs the left?" 

ha ha ha ha  (this is where we pal around and burst into laughter, like the bunch of guys on the new Weight Watcher's ad for men)

Hey Newt, don't let the door hit you on your way out.

Anyway, the thing is -- our media is having  a field day with second guessing, drop kicking, crash and burning, every potential candidate coming on down the pike.  They have been waiting for this -- open season -- for quite some time now.

For myself, I am enjoying the slow burn of who's in and who's not; for in the end, I KNOW, along with half of the American population, anyone who finally meets up with the challenges, gets over the hurdles, and manages to outperform the mainstream media long enough, will ultimately be the best future presidential candidate for the job; and more than that, they will become 'the one'; the one who has all the right stuff, so that all the rest of us can rally behind, and fully support, with all our heart, and with all our might.

As marvelous as the man is, Huckabee isn't really what we want, now is he?  And he felt it; and he responded to it appropriately when he said it just wasn't in his heart.  Mara Liasson was funny; on Special Report yesterday, she considers Huck bowing out to be a loss for the party (ah hello, little miss NPR liasson, it's a non-starter, move along now).

While as the world turns, it turns out that Ryan has decided not to run for the seat in the Senate;  where is the media on this one, you know, projecting the guy wants a run for what Newt wants?  Now that would be fun to watch.  Run Ryan Run!

In the meantime, if you happen to be a 'white, straight, republican, male' duck and cover -- or plan on having the race bombs, the cheap shots, the low blows, the punch lines right at the gut for.... oooh... for about another eighteen months or so, give or take your own move to jump in or jump out....and we do the hokey pokey and we turn ourselves around, that's what it's all about, clap clap.

Of course, something to think about is a race pitting Herman Cain against the Chosen One.  Back in Black -- mono y mono -- that would shut the media up.  No.  How about we genetically engineer our next dynamic duo to be Herman Cain and Marco Rubio?   

You wanna piece of me?  You wanna piece of me?

You wanna call me some bug-eyed, dumb@$$, ignorant, bigoted, astroturf, nazi, extremist, tea party right wing radical, racist now?  Bring it.  Let's hope it all gets on tape so we can play it over and over and over again.

So Media-BUYER BEWARE:  Clearly, it is open season on right wing dodobirds according to all Media Research Outlets.  Things to look out for -- for easy pickings -- being WHITE, straight, republican and male; however, about half are known to be of the female persuasion, from either creation or evolution, and are equally protected under the new landmark authority expressly given to Mother Earth by the U.N.-- see also the latest 'endangered' listings -- so consider yourself forewarned (they get awfully nasty when teased, poked, and prodded).

While not so uncommon anymore and worth noting, many are not white at all -- some are half white, half black -- some are brown -- some are very light brown with just a hint of black -- and some are solid black through and through.  And one thing to consider may be to stay away from the Albino, all I can say is, they are sort of different if you know what I mean, dare I say, they're kind of on the fringe. something to look out for. but the good news is, we can normally see them coming from a mile away.

You should also be aware, Right Wing Dodobirds normally do not associate by color alone -- many, actually, are color blind; don't be surprised if you find a gathering of various birds of a feather.  What is important, is not so much the color of the feather, but the content of the character found deep down inside, especially in times that try avian souls.  Naturally, they gravitate together, like birds of a certain feather, seeking the like-minded -- seeking others aligned with founding principles and values -- seeking those fully accepting of their inherent duty and delight to participate with a certain level of responsibility to the whole bunch of birds...

Yes.  I could hurt you some more and just keep right on winging it; but let's just say I woke up on the right side of the bed featuring a deep seated compassion for mankind, especially those I venture to entertain.  I will stop myself right here.

As the narrative moves in and around the political birdcage, let us be enlightened, encourage open dialog, and treat each other with respect.  Will this be nearly impossible for the biased left wing media to pull off?  Will it be amusing to watch?  you betcha. and you betcha. it's gonna be fun.

Dear America,

As the world turns...a shade of gray.

So apparently, the expectation of one's human nature to be held to a higher, wiser, truer, never falter standard, is far greater for the average Newt, and a republican, than the average Billy Boy Jefferson Clinton, and a democrat.  Is that it?  Can we not be done with this hypocritical repartee?

You know, in life, sometimes the best teachers are the ones who have been there, done that.

They allow for the general public, and anyone else within ear shot for that matter, to feel their pain and embarrassment when in the middle of it -- while when it's all over -- we get to witness how these people find their way out of it.

But this sense of somehow, some way, just because more often than not, the GOP also stands for people who actually attend church or temple, believe in a loving God, and actually try to live a life as best they can according to some kind of lethal combination landing between religious commandments and moral truths -- that somehow these people are not also human...

...that they make mistakes

...that they lose their way, scruples, principles

...and let's just throw in a whole lot of common sense for good measure

-- that these people are held to a higher standard against the other party seems downright preposterous, hypocritical, unrealistic, and simply unfair.


With everything else going wrong in the world, with all kinds of other questions to a possible presidential candidate there might be, what has G's head spinning this morning...this.

“You’ve also been married three times and admitted to having an affair with your current wife while you were still married to your second,” a student said to Gingrich, “As a successful politician who’s considering running for president, who would set the bar for moral conduct and be the voice of the American people, how do you reconcile this hypocritical interpretation of the religious values that you so vigorously defend?”

seriously?

And his immediate reply: “I believe in a forgiving God, and the American people will have to decide whether that’s their primary concern...If the primary concern of the American people is my past, my candidacy would be irrelevant,” but that, “the primary concern of the American people is the future.”

To the lowly student taunting the giant political force, let's go ahead and talk about questionable presidential behavior:

What, were you five when Clinton was getting BJ's in the oval office and playing hide the cigar with an intern?  (oh that's right, you kids today don't call it sex either)


Have your teachers not taught you all about the lifestyles of the rich and famous, and a few good Kennedy men, battling with infidelity and womanizing  in the early sixties?  Rumors abound on the real history...between the tragic death of Marilyn Monroe and a young Chappaquiddick woman... (oh that's right, that doesn't count, that was during  your grandparents era)

Let me guess, you would have still voted for John Edwards had it not been for that misguided wrong turn he took with a campaign photographer, thwarting his presidential intentions with his good ole' American boy smile?

Double standards are everywhere and often between the two parties -- while in this day of age, I gotta say -- even if I risk sounding counter to my own ideals of a certain candidate/representative -- if this is all you got, let's moveon.org.

Now, please indulge me as I switch gears a wee bit...

One of my favorite people to listen to is Star Parker; her story (her real life!) features an African-American woman, coming out of poverty and the welfare system, experiencing hard times that I can only imagine; fast forward to today, where this woman -- this bright, vivacious, conservative, black woman -- blossoms into a living example of what this country is all about.

She has grown into a shining beacon of hope for not only other African-Americans, but for ALL Americans; she teaches what she knows to be true, as she has lived it!  Transcended it even...and all of it centers around tried and true American principles and values.

The thing is, she walks her talk and empowers scores of Americans to follow her because in their heart of hearts, they believe her...

aw, let's get real... I believe her...and that's enough for me.

and right now, she is staring right at me -- for she is the face of February on my Clare Boothe Luce Calendar (I have talked about this organization before...but check them out if you haven't already).  Anyway, a short bio on Star is featured this month, while in real life, she is founder and president of CURE, the Coalition on Urban Renewal.  (and right now, you too, can help her "stop Planned Parenthood lies" by going to her website and finding out how you can get more involved).

My point, she can teach us because she has been there -- truly been there; she has been at her bottom bottom, her lowest of the lows -- and has risen above it.  And more important, she didn't stop there (and can we get a thank you Jesus! Amen); she didn't stop at the spot where you only help yourself; she continued to move forward and to share her life's lessons, to extend her wealth of experiences, to champion the cause of being a better American, to teach the rest of us coming from a place who knows. I love, love, love her and you should love her too, just sayin'.

Those who have real life experiences, no matter whatever field, no matter whatever reality, have always grown to be our best teachers, our wisest mentors, our shining example of how to follow ever after; as we in turn replicate the process and principles, our world changes, even if only at the local level.  What begins to happen, over and over and over again, is the exponential expansion of our cornerstones -- a nation's character and values -- as these things begin to shape us and take us a long way...

...and through it all, through thick and through thin, we build a nation, AMERICA, merrily merrily up the path of duplicating the good.

But the school of hard knocks and wrong moves has the ability of teaching us everything we need to know right quick when we give it a chance -- take anything that pops in your head and the process works --

• a history of too much debt, too much spending, what does it teach us?
• a past of staying up late, drinking too much, what does it teach us?
• a habit of yelling and screaming at your kids, having those kids grow up to yell and scream at their kids, and so on and so on, what does it teach us?
• a penchant for driving too fast, talking on the phone, eating a burger -- and then fixing our lipstick-- what does it teach us?
• a night of Facebook and texting friends -- when we should be doing our homework -- what does it teach us?
• a president who takes advantage of his power and prestige, what does it teach us?
• an opportunity to ask a real question to a man who has a wealth of political insider knowledge and experiences, and we blow it, what does it teach us?

The thing is, as human beings, we blow it a lot!  Speaking of which, if I could ask three questions to the big guy in charge:

DO I think it should take nine days to respond to Libya -- and to the crazy man in charge, Moammar Gadhafi --  when in fact, you were sending in an entourage for a sit down in Egypt maybe seconds into it -- proposing Mubarak, by name, to do the right thing, for his country and all, to listen to the youth protesting in the streets, calling for him to step down?  Morally, I think you would be on the right side of history, if you came down on Moammar a wee bit harder..."the entire world is watching...violence is outrageous... unacceptable..."  oooooh...you basically said the same same thing responding to the tragedy in Arizona. what gives?

DO I think after campaigning as a champion of marriage (that being, defined in matrimony as between a man and a woman) to just yesterday, out of the blue, you justify fudging a little... as your feelings about marriage further evolve... floating around the idea that the office of our Department of Justice no longer has to defend DOMA -- which, by the way, IS A LAW, enacted by the last democrat in office -- do I think that's cool?  You say, it is because there is no "reasonable defense" of such a law -- having decided for yourself outside the rule of law -- when in fact, you of all people should realize, law is fixated by what is called PRECEDENCE.  The reasonable defense of DOMA is the mounds of precedence that has preceding it -- that, by definition, is simply known as traditional marriage in this country, and actually since the days of Caesar. typical politician flip-flop.  really?

DO I wonder wonder wonder how it is possible for you NOT to interfere with the coaxing of the price of oil -- not to be confused with making an immediate about face on where you stand with the issue of drilling here in America --  and while we're at it, getting to the good stuff of clean coal, natural gas, and going a little nuclear -- and for sure, for kicks and giggles, not that we could sustain ourselves, adding to that, the solar, wind, bio-fuels and what not...how can you not see into the future at a time like this is beyond me?  A nation's security is at stake and you distract us with a combination of making a hard core union assault against a state and changing your mind about DOMA?  wow....where are your priorities? not to mention your juevos rancheros?

Getting back to Newt and the question -- Newt might be just the right kind of guy for the job (you know, to take over where Barack leaves off) -- given his experience AND ALL.

The last two years has taught us much...and we have Barack Hussein Obama to thank.

and then again, some people never really learn a thing...rumor has it Charlie Sheen was on his way to a vacation spot today, taking with him his soon-to-be ex- wife, Brooke, his live in porn-star/girl friend, and another woman.  Our morning local radio show, DSC, on Jack FM, put it like this, "Charlie Sheen and a couple of prostitutes."  To frame it another way, perhaps he is just looking to fill in his resume before a congressional run, considering his current gig is on the way out...
