It's Old is the New New Thing, Revisited

Dear America,

“My definition of a free society

is a society where it is safe to be unpopular.”

Adlai Stevenson

so apparently the 1930's called last Tuesday night...
for the rally cry, nearly in unison, and crafted to move the audience from deep depression to standing ovation -- is that it's time for a new New Deal.  And if it was said with a shrill, even better, right Hillary?

Obama phones and shovel-ready jobs got nothing on the deal we have for you, if you vote for me:
  Bernie - Hill .
Free public college for everyone, free healthcare for children, women and old people,  free education for illegals, free healthcare for illegals....even mandating  a raise in minimum wage from sea to shining sea...AND increasing taxes on the greedy, wealthy, God-forsaken top wage earners, Wall Street, and especially those nasty hedge fund guys. Free Free Free everything ...for everyone...except, of course, those at the top.

Gosh, do you even remember that near trillion dollar stimulus package of 2009?

You know not one republican voted for it.  Not one.

It was this stimulus package (just a wiki link) --  along with the horrific direction the "Affordable Care Act" (just another wiki link) legislation was taking -- that prompted THIS little miss thing to come to life ...in living color, creating
-- It's a G Thing --
 Just a Girl.
Her Name is Gretchen.
A Day in the Life of an American Girl.

That was July 2009.
And now look at me.
Here I am,
still --
even with a boat load of haters/obstructionists jumping in from time to time --
755 blogs later.

[you know blogs are not only an equal opportunity industry, it is a totally gender neutral realm...to the point of near irrelevance, if choosing anonymity ...Unless of course, like me, you choose to build a site around it (giggle)...  But it's hard to believe that Hillary considers her best qualifier to be the next president is the fact that she is a girl and there hasn't been a girl president yet...It's like c'mon Hill, you're a feminist and want to be treated equally across the board until you want to use your femininity as a qualification?  Affirmative action, hear me roar. And shriek.]

Besides echoing the NEW NEW DEAL philosophy of redistribution governing, the democratic players on stage each angled to outdo the other in "outsider-ship."  Which is funny -- considering the combined total number of years dependent upon a government bureaucracy paycheck of one sort or another and paid for on the backs of tax payers is obscene; what an embarrassment.

What do we, the tax payers and dutiful citizens, have to show for it?

For this near 20 trillion dollar debt, and the over 200 trillion dollars in unfunded liabilities (funding things...things large and small..... things dating back to the thirties and  still going, going, gone and  way beyond comprehension) is already crippling us AND  stifling our every move.

Our economy is no longer free to be -- whether it be under free enterprise or under "free" federal stimulus.  We are choking on debt,  and this group of yahoos, I mean, dimwitted democratic candidates, insist the answer is MORE?

Nothing is free.

T  I  N  S  T  A  A F  L

There is no such thing as a free lunch
(or free college, free healthcare, free food, free housing, free anything, freeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!tee hee !!!!! ha ha ha.......That was just my screaming Hill coming out.  Did you catch the hackle at the end?)

Everything has a cost, a price -- whether it's a commodity, a property, a service, a soul, or a future.  And everything has to be accounted for -- in other words, paid for, in the end.  Or else, clearly bankrupt, it IS the end.

Everything is "paid" for on the backs of taxpayers...you; or everything is not paid for, and is promptly tallied into our National Debt.    FEEL    THE     BERN (and thank you to my morning muse on that little number xx my baby girl didn't make it up, but she told me xx).

But it's the ideologies that take advantage of the poor, the hungry, the faint of heart, the downtrodden, the desperate, the uneducated, the minority - especially by voter block -- in order to keep the power -- that poses the greatest threat to America (if not the entire free world).  For it's these ideologies that lie, beg, steal, borrow, and promise to fulfill dreams of the populace without disclosing the details, the true costs, the fine print, and inevitably, the certain challenges and constraints we place on all future generations to make these dreams come true.

It's fraud.
And quickly, a  bernie sanders becomes no different than a bernie madoff.

Oh FDR was so well liked, in the beginning

Hey Bernie,
facts are a sticky thing.

So let's use FactCheck.org, shall we?

  • Sanders wrongly said that the U.S. had “more wealth and income inequality than any other country.” The U.S. ranks 42nd in income inequality and 16th in terms of wealth held by the top 1 percent.
And if we look at the top 10%, U.S. ranks in 7th place, with the upper 10% holding 74.6% of the wealth -- with Russia (1st place) Turkey, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, falling in above us.

Whether we look at the top 1% or the top 10%, the answer's the same: we are not guilty of having "more wealth and income inequality than any other country."

But Bernie --

Given the 'compound interest' upon the welfare state we've made (to date),  add the exponential rate of raising dependency upon government (absent the intentions of our founding, built upon a citizenry of independence, self-reliance, and true liberty) --  America has grown less wealthy, enjoys less liberty, and is LESS FREE with each inauguration since the New f@%& Deal! (ahhh that link takes me back...)

All things considered -- you still say a new New Deal is your answer?...And it's Hill's answer?...Is that with or without a conviction on keeping a private email server and transmitting confidential top secret information on it, and then lying about it, and then, after two years,  finally turn over emails, only to reluctantly admit you might have made a mistake...and all in all, have Bernie's blessing to let it go, claiming nobody really cares.

Wrong Again.

Nearly 60% of Americans take issue with the level of dishonesty and lack of credibility; and 54% of those polled believe Hillary put America at risk.    That is a problem; a problem, I might add,  NOT created by the republicans leading the investigation (republicans being her self-proclaimed worst enemy), but by Hillary, herself.  [Just gotta wonder why controversy follows Hill and Bill with everything they touch......it's rhetorical]

And We haven't even begun to discuss all the climate change chatter.  Oi Vay!

How ignorant -- making such dumb ass claims against a basic, organic, life-force such as CO2,  And Bernie even went so far as to call it the biggest National Security Threat!?  Have you lost your mind?

Maybe Bernie should be the one to take the president aside and have a little heart to heart about the planet and all of his Air Force One joy rides....like the one just last weekend.   The president left Washington last Friday and went to Oregon  -- to talk to the families who lost a loved one at Umpqua Community College about gun control -- before then running off (in his plane) and making stops in San Francisco and LA for some fundraisers, and making a stop here in San Diego for a round of Golf @ Torrey Pines and a couple of good night's sleep in a 5-star resort, Rancho Valencia, before returning to Washington on Monday afternoon.  [take off about 1:45PST...ask me how I know...I happened to be looking up and in the right direction at the time...and lo and behold, there he was, taking off from Miramar! He was right there! Spilling CO2 all over the place!  I tried to look away, but I just couldn't...the plane was simply breathtaking.  I was mesmerized.]

Here's a post from The Daily Caller, going back to the President's Earth Day celebration  in April -- and choosing to celebrate the day by flying down to Florida and back....For the trip of of 1,836 miles round trip, his plane would spill 90 tons of carbon dioxide emissions!   Or, as The Caller points out:  To put this into perspective, it’s the same carbon footprint as 17.2 cars driving for the year. It’s also the same as burning nearly 88,000 pounds of coal or burning 190 barrels of crude oil.

Talk about being on the wrong side of an argument, read this.
Or talk about taxpayers funding the wrong side of an argument, read this.

Climate change policy is just another method of redistribution; it's just tapping into the fears, using tactics available to create change and re-organize communities by lying, stealing, and transforming America's fundamentals.    Same old, same old. Blah blah blah.

It's fraud, too.

But from the New Deal to the Real Deal,  allow me to steer you to Nate Jackson's take, on the debate, at The Patriot Post:
Democrat Debate Lowlights.
(Because it's good.)

You know, if Bernie's not careful, he may prompt a visit from the Department of Homeland Security...for all his talk against the man, the status quo, (throwing in Citizens United for good measure), to the extent of inciting, and actually calling out for, a "political revolution."  For a guy in congress since 1991, that is hilarious.

But back to my new, new link:  Did you see this stunning new announcement coming out of the Department of Justice?

Here's a peek...

While he spoke about the threat posed by the Islamic State terror group, he emphasized that law enforcement is focused on racist and anti-government ideologies, and that such ideologies may pose a more serious threat than ISIS.
“More broadly, law enforcement agencies nationwide are concerned about the growth of the “sovereign citizen” movement.  According to one 2014 study, state, local and tribal law enforcement officials considered sovereign citizens to be the top concern of law enforcement, ranking above ISIL and Al Qaeda-inspired extremists,” he said.
hmm me thinks me is a wee bit a part of this anti-government, "sovereign citizen" movement...sshhhh

The thing is, this morning, and after a little bit of rain last night -- I'm feeling refreshed in a weird way.  I sincerely hope it comes down to Hillary -- because WE, the right, can take her! But IF Joe Biden and Elizabeth Warren team up for another round of eight years (sixteen even, if she turns around and adds another eight) of fundamental transformation, it might be over for freedom and liberty in the good 'ole US of A.

Ugh just the thought of that is giving me a panic attack (so much for the pitter patter of raindrops on my little head lulling me into nirvana).

In the end, while this isn't NEW to gthing...
OLD
is the New
NEW

according to the Left, too.

[remember, a while back I used this
to support the American fundamentals...
context is everything...
don't ever forget it...]

And on Tuesday evening, the Democratic Debate showed us just how screwed up (from top to bottom -- from inside and out) we are...and half the populace is okay with it?

Make it a Good Day, G

It's Called 300 Million Specifics Thing

Dear America,

it's post debate boys and girls.

oh my, and let the fur fly.

So G has some thoughts (duh)...but hold up... let me get my laugh track up and going; let me set up my automatic interruption spring, to pop peanuts off the top of my head in an annoying fashion; let me just practice my smiiiiiiiirrrrrrrrrrrrk.

okay.  ready, steady, go G - - take it away...

We will not dwell on the @laughing hyena joe in attendance.  Other than noting we got a live one in the office of the vice presidency -- god save the king -- old Gthang is gonna leave him be. How in the world did he get this far?

I will only add this:  If Joe had simply toned it down a wee bit, carried himself in a more measured demeanor perhaps, he might have come close to winning the debate in the eyes of the independent/undecided voter hands down and no fact-checks asked. But then again, maybe not; Biden interrupted Ryan 82 times (in 90 minutes; now that's a record we can believe in).

But like I said -- this laughing stock of a debate is not where this girl is gonna settle.  Ah no...we got bigger bridges to build, higher roads to travel, freer fish to fry.

Something hit me over the head much harder than a peck from a peanut.  It didn't come until moments after the debate; it didn't come until I was listening to an undecided focus group, organized by Frank Luntz; and it almost didn't come at all.  It wasn't until one itty bitty detail was articulated....you wanna know what it was?

They returned to Ryan's five-point plan complaining about the HOW -- just how will they do it?  Nobody ever gives us specifics, they whine and cry....

....and that's when it hit me.  bonk.

Somewhere over the rainbow, happily on our way to Ameritopia, we -- as a people -- have become disconnected to the engine that gets us there [and there being anywhere but here].  And that something is called the free market.  It's as if we have forgotten the basic human dynamics, working specifically and in tandem, to operate as a whole.  The machine, the instructions, the tools, the fluids, the flow has been hindered by something rather huge -- that being, the vision itself.

Perhaps the idea of having so much freedom is simply too much for us to handle anymore?

Perhaps the notion that we could have each and every one of us pursuing happiness and reaching our dreams is overwhelming, too good to be true?

The Free Market?  Really?  No way....   Would that really work?

So back to the focus group and the gathering of "undeciders" -- and we might as well throw old Joe and MarthaModerator in there, too.  They acted as if Ryan was speaking a foreign language when he was lauding the plan to lower taxes, as part of their crazy, pie-in-the-sky five-point plan; the Romney/Ryan economic vision includes creating 12 million jobs, pursue energy independence in earnest, honestly get debt under control, make international trade work for us, while championing small business.

Everyone's like, say what?
There's not enough specifics.
What is he talking about?
How can he say that?
How do you get there from here?

Ugh.

It's like we have to start entirely over teaching people how to be truly free!

How DID we get here, for independence sake?

Like Ryan tried to say --  repeatedly -- the idea itself is so good, so big, it's Reagan-esque; and by all evidence, if this focus group says anything at all, seems too difficult for ordinary Americans to truly comprehend.

So let's take a run at it, shall we?

With the right conditions --generously added to a whole lot of time, effort, and blood, sweat and tears -- we prosper;  when we lower taxes, it has been proven to create more opportunity for a larger portion of society across the board.  More people working, paying taxes, contributing to life and being productive citizens equals everybody wins.  It's elementary and wonderful; creating the very conditions when every day can be silly day.

Mitt Romney is a jobs guy -- whether it be from the private sector or the public servant side.

As a jobs guy, he communicates in free market speak.  For Romney, it's about creating the conditions to create jobs and then he walks away.  [wow, G.  that is good]

It's about jobs; it's about how we create more jobs; and the funny thing is, it's not that complicated when we are honestly set free to do it -- nor, does it need to be very specific!  That's the beauty of it.  And this, I would assume by his resume,  is the very perspective where Romney may live...and eat, pray, love even.

Not only that, it's where all of us should live....and eat, pray, love.

And yet, this whole government dole thing --  the nanny state seeking to remake the night of the living dead -- has got us drinking the kool-aid a wee bit too much and far too often.

The thing is, the  Free Market is an idea that never gets old.  It is the machine that generally, widely, broadly, indiscriminately, boldly, abundantly creates jobs, opportunity, happiness, purpose, for the most people; and it's truly responsible for bringing all good things to life.

ssmmm iiiiiiii rrrrr k

Think about it.  The ability to amplify, and exponentially expand, opportunity for all, allowing more of us to keep more of our own money --- oh my goodness, oh my goodness. That is priceless!  Multiply the number of job creators -- it becomes an intangible, unlimited value.

But apparently THESE PEOPLE...they need specifics.  Are you kidding me?

The free market just doesn't operate that way.  Just where is the open mind, people?

Peanut ping:  The free market is kinda like a free spirit on steroids; when left unleashed and allowed to roam...freely...anything can happen and usually does.

Peanut ping: It's kind of like being its own animal -- kinda like a Joe Biden.  [He has succeeded because he knows thy self; he is just joe being joe and true to his own.]

Peanut ping: I just can't believe we are arguing about how much of our own money is rightfully our own money!  But I digress.

When more people are working and prospering, less people are needing and suffering; more people are able to find work when more job creators are given the freedom to invest, grow, expand their business.

IN a free market, we are no longer committed-for-life to a particular station, class, salary or benefit package. Matter of fact, the free market is the force that makes more millionaires and billionaires per capita [no.  I don't really know that,  just wanna sound as good as joe-letterman-biden] But I do know this: the free market aims to take away restrictions and open up to real possibility for anything, everything.

But how is it, in this day and age, we find ourselves at the crossroad of Enterprise and Main -- living in Contradiction and looking at a red light that never changes?  Remarkably, sadly -- the basic, universal understanding supporting the inner workings of true and free enterprise is virtually nowhere to be found.

This is not America -- land of the free and home of the brave --  being very true to herself, now is it?.

And as to my little  un-deciders ..... the specifics you seem to be looking for are more likely to be found crafted into our Declaration of Independence, enriched by our Constitution, and built into the fundamentals over decades of American life and prosperity.   It's an enigma, really, to the rest of the world.   But for you guys -- this should be where you live....and eat, pray, love even.

Peanut ping: The thing is, you don't need a Paul Ryan to tell you anything more; you don't need a Paul Ryan to explain his plan any further; the specifics are YOU, and me, and everyone else simply getting back to work.  Romney's five-point plan is to create the best conditions for the most people to get back to a real job and then walk away; it's what he does.

Peanut ping:  In other words, it's just Mitt and Paul being the best Mitt and Paul for 100% of the American people.  It's called 300 million specifics, martha [best moderator in the world -- if, in fact, you were going for 'Biden's bbbbbbbitch'].

smm iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii rrrrrrrrrrrrrrr k

if I was sitting there next to joe, I may have slapped him silly; no, wait, he's there already.

Make it a Good Day, G

rumor has it Joe was prepped by....wait for it...this guy...this guy....

It's to the Power of One Thing

Dear America,

so I could go this way --
ROMNEY WON!

See you tomorrow.

But what fun would that be?

It's the Day After.  And this was Obama to Romney, according to the G Spark Chart on the night:

ya got 5 trillion plus 2 trillion plus one trillion -- that's like 8 trillion dollars right there...and that voucher program -- I don't support that...young people can stay on their parents insurance, plus we cover pre-existing conditions... ya got 5 trillion plus 2 trillion plus one trillion --that's like 8 trillion dollars right there...my grandmother, as you know, needed medical care...my plan adds 100,000 math and science teachers....I inherited two wars and Bush tax cuts, but despite that, took emergency measures...cut 77 government programs...found some Medicaid fraud...all built around a ten year plan to reduce deficit by 4 trillion...thanks to the AARP (and twice over, can you say hilarious)....ya got 5 trillion plus 2 trillion plus one trillion -- that's like 8 trillion dollars right there...this is where budgets matter -- who pays for it?

exactly.
[too funny. he really said 'this is where budgets matter' -- as if. ]

In other words, Trickle Down Government took a big loss last night.  And what a drag it was, huh, Mr. President.

As it turned out, it really didn't matter what Obama said; body language said it all, kicking and screaming and smirking and raging.

At One hour and Twenty-three minutes in -- things were winding down and it was rapid fire response time
for the Rominator just to finish him off:   But Mr. President, come on now, 90 billion?  90 billion dollars to your green energy donors....and how about school choice for every child -- the money should follow the child...Massachusetts became number one, because it's about the kids, building great schools with great teachers...I have the experience, elected republican governor for a state that is 87% democrat...I've done it before...I will sit down on day one with both sides, keeping true to our principles and find common ground...I've done it before.

A mirrored image of the night was nearly instantly posted, see slide-show here.

For a more grown-up assessment on the night, go to Heritage Foundation, right here.

From the start-- and strangely following very much in step with his foreign policy -- Obama took the 'leading from behind' position; this becomes even more of a quandary when we realize he got to speak first, as Jim Lehrer asked each of them to articulate the difference between their job creation plans. The poor guy just never recovered from there.

And to think, this president was of the intelligent kind, with a long line of credentialed intellectuals backing him up.  What a let down.  His Excellency, the Smartie-Pants-In-Chief, only seems to show up when that thing-a-magiggie rolls dem der words in front of him.  And what a drag for the rest of us when it's not.

wow.  It was almost like who are you and what did you do with my president?

Much of the time, it was pure gibberish; his answer for everything included at least three sets of numbers, a percentage, a reference to math or science or both, and a pre-existing condition (appearing to look somewhere in the neighborhood of simple heartburn to a full bout of diverticulitus).  After time for a rebuttal, all he could do was bow his head and shake it from side to side.

The biggest difference between -- given that both candidates prepped and trained for this --

Only one candidate really understood what he was talking about.... the other one, not so much.

Only one candidate believes in the power of the individual and the sovereignty of the state....the other one, not so much -- might as well call him a statist.

Only one candidate truly recognizes the spirit of the free enterprise system, and revels in it, and even wants to grow more of it...the other one, not so much -- might as well call him an opportunist.

Only one candidate sees the role of government is to promote and protect the Constitution....the other one, not so much -- might as well call him anarchist.

Only one candidate comes with business experience and solutions -- as he has done this kind of thing umpteen times before...the other one, not so much -- might as well call him green.

All I really wanted to do was listen to Romney's ideas. And it would appear, that Obama's own rhetoric was even too much for him to swallow, let alone spit out [don't be confused; that's just leftover scraps of contradiction from last night].

But Romney, Oh Romney...He instilled a sense of confidence and authority over some pretty mind-boggling challenges we face, well aware of the gravity of the situation and the magnificence of our decline.  He knows exactly what mountains we have yet to climb, even as America stands knee deep in a valley of silt and sand. "Stuck" doesn't even come close. And more than anything else in his life, he still wants this job.

He doesn't need this job; he honestly thinks he can help.  Is he perfect?  Hardly.  But fair to say his resume, complete with a genuine ambition to do his best for all of America, is proof his heart is in the right place.

What a gift to America.

We would be fools not to accept it.

Make it a Good Day, G

and in another day in the life -- I just paid $4.79/gallon to fill my gas tank to the half way point....ouch.
all just part of the 'necessarily rising aspect of fundamental transformation, the cornerstone of this presidency. California is returning to the days of Jimmy Carter from all directions. No question about it, we really truly need a president who really truly believes in an "all of the above" energy independence policy.

Update:  11:36 10/4/12:   OMG.  Al Gore is so stupid.  Blaming the mind-blowing comatose performance of the president on the altitude?  Are you kidding me? why stop there, why not include global warming phenomena and make some money off it?

It's a ONE in Twenty-Three Thing

Dear America,

happy thursday x

so
as if I didn't already have a million thoughts going through my head this morning -- something that I just heard from my favorite young gun conservative talk radio program here in San Diego, beginning live at six a.m. on 760 KFMB -- the Mike Slater Show -- just said something that made me go wow.

Are you a Slater Crusader?  Did you hear what he just said?

Slater was reminding all of us of just how LUCKY we are to be born in the US of A.  There are 7 BILLION people on this planet and only 300 million are here, living in America, the greatest nation to experience life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. [which within seconds, a caller crunched the numbers even further and broke it down to a ONE in twenty three chance of being born HERE -- instead of Botswana, or Bolivia, or Bangkok]

Slater pointed out that because of this rare occurrence of being born in the country famous for freedom and liberty FOR ALL, we bear the full responsibility of upholding our inherent duty to it.  [aka the reality that freedom does not come free].

As highlighted in brilliant moments of last night's debate, we, as AMERICANS, have the freedom of protecting  and honoring our America along with enjoying it's perks [which we, by the show of the last fifty years, have learned to totally take for granted].

As one example, most every GOP player recognized that in order to fix the daily abuses of immigrating to America, we need to return to our roots -- beckoning all of us to come together with compassion, while holding tight to the expectation of every immigrant to assimilate with the whole in every way.

Breaking this down further -- and after making sure that our border was made secure to the best of it's ability --  this means requiring corporate America and business to uphold our employment laws already on the books; it demands English to be the official language; it expects those who chose to come to America to abide by our Rule of Law, and be fully respectful of fellow Americans, communities, and for all intents and purposes, to be just plain good people; in other words, the process of assimilation is a duty not a right.

But the real question remains, just how can we expect so much from our immigrants when we fail to do the same... considering that we, as Americans in general, have all but forgotten this inherent duty to each other, ourselves, and this country?  Talk about hypocrisy.

Now, on more than one occasion here on G thing, I have humbly proclaimed my own fall from grace; I admit wholeheartedly that I have made mistakes here -- I have taken my own freedoms and liberties for granted -- I have lived aloof and disconnected to my duty to my country -- I have fallen away from understanding my own responsibility to protect, defend, and honor the exceptional and inspirational place in which we live -- I am guilty.  I do not claim to be an expert nor do I believe my way of thinking ranks above anyone else. Each and every one of us is entitled to our own beliefs, arrived by our own experiences, personal evolution, and conscience.

Even if I never say this again, there is not a day that goes by when in fact I do not recognize how little I really am.  I am this big...which means, really small.

AND when it comes to our duty to each other and our country, what I really mean is that it is not so much about what you have to do at all and, in all honesty,  is more about me; this is the context I wish you never forget.

Contrary to what you might think, every pondering post upon
It's a G Thing
is less about absolutes and more about keeping a daily dialog with my self -- that pesky little old me --  and my country.  It details what I must do; it spells out how I might think; it capitalizes on what I must learn; it outlines what action I must take; it illuminates the direction I should go -- all according to me, G, just a girl, and according to a day in the life in America.  Also known as the place glorified by the rest of the world ...a place where the ONE in twenty-three deem really, really special... and why?

Because it is special here.
But more important --
we must ask ourselves,
how did we get here...
just what makes US so special?

What are the things
that make America
so exceptional,
so free,
so prosperous,
so worthy of our respect and unwavering defense?

It certainly couldn't be found in the latest discovery of medicare fraud that makes us so special.

It certainly couldn't be the robbery of the corner store and neighborhood bank that makes us so endearing.

It certainly couldn't be found in the rape and assault and murder of our fellow countrymen and women that makes us so attractive.

It certainly couldn't be found in the masterminding of ways to separate and disconnect us from each other, through the manufacturing of a false divide by religion, color, class or community that makes us so beautiful.

It certainly couldn't be found in the unlimited power of government frivolously spending our hard earned dollars, through entitlements, social security ponzi schemes, and the like [go Perry!] that makes us so exceptional.

It certainly couldn't be found in permitting the illegal crossing of our borders to find a better life, abusing our system and taking advantage of our compassion,  while disregarding all of those who venture to come to America legally, that makes us so loveable.

It certainly couldn't be through phony stimulus plans, too big to fail bailouts, overzealous governmental regulations, the devaluing of our dollar, the printing of money, the exponential growth of government that makes us so worthy.

It certainly couldn't be our losing of our religion altogether that makes us so good.

Just what makes us so special now?  It certainly couldn't be any of these things -- and this isn't even a complete list.  We are becoming just as muddled and mixed up as the rest of the world.  Why would anyone want to come here now?

so we had a GOP debate last night...and all I know is this:

I want a straight shooter coming into the presidency next time around.

I want someone who will honor and protect the America of the proverbial yesterday.

I want a return to universal values and principles that REALLY ARE proven (without the need for a scientist to prove or disprove and "settle" for us outside of our own fair and liberal use of common sense applied...and if you watched the debate you would know what I mean).

I want to live in a country with 300 million other Americans appreciative of our foundation, aligned with the full protection of our country's fundamentals, and fully prepared to do our duty to ourselves, each other, and our country in every way.

It may have been just my lucky stars to have been born here, at this time, in this age; and to question THAT, in and of itself, may take the rest of my life to figure out why, if not also require of me my full attention to the itty bitty details of life here in America.

Answering the age old question as to why we are here -- and why here, why not over there -- is fundamental to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness no matter where you are born.  It pushes us to find our way in life; it forces us to recognize what is inside us, what we are made of, what is it that makes us so special in order to give back to community, humanity, family, God, and life itself.

"All that is necessary
for the triumph of evil
is that good men do nothing."
Edmund Burke

Make it a Good Day, G

so, hey, don't forget to watch the president tonight...
...four in the afternoon here on the west coast...
...gonna have to leave the office quite possibly by three, depending upon your commute...
...but make no mistake, I am sure it will be worth it:
He will be announcing more spending (rumored to be at almost half a trillion dollars now) -- provide for an "Infrastructure Bank" (as if bank and infrastructure and the Fed in the same sentence doesn't print enough red flags to circle the world over 300 million times) -- continuation of the payroll tax deductions for another year -- extreme defense department cuts by jeopardizing our security success in Iraq, by way of making drastic reduction of 40,000 troops there and leaving "3000" to fend for themselves -- a call for the gang of twelve to settle the cut/cap/balance debate to "get it done" before November -- and what speech would be without diminishing, discrediting, and ridiculing the importance of the republican stance/demands -- and all in all, clinging to his Keynesian roots as the answer for everything.

It's a Free Flow of Compromise Thing...make it stop....

Dear America,

it is late in the day.  way.
let's just say, the flow out of the old spigot -- the creative mind -- was jammed up for quite some time...  way.

I don't know...perhaps it has something to do with the lack of leadership in Congress -- as well as the Executive Branch -- but who can tell anymore, right.

Just fascinating how an indiscriminate, intangible, weight of the world can simply level us, no?

it's just so hard being outside the beltway just watching the politics continue to stack up -- one on top of another, loading the stream of fiscal responsibility with excuses, denials, rhetoric, and compromises.

hold up...

"put something on the table!  tell us where you are!"

ooops.  that was breaking news that just slipped in, here in SoCal at 2:42 PST
...that was John Boehner....screaming from the podium at the opposition.

wow.
can I just say, wow, again.  he sounded kinda annoyed.
way.

and maybe, for the first time, sounding like he actually grew a pair...  way.
wow.

Not that it really matters, right.

oh my....
ya see?  the flow is all but shut off.

But look around, the week has been heavy, unrelenting, dark and deep with despair.

how can you just sit there and expect just a girl to rise above it -- continue to make her lemonade -- find her silver lining -- let the good times roll  -- under such dire conditions?

Something really trivial set me off on this wrong track today, believe it or not; even though, for the most part, up until making my mid-morning tea, I would say this girl was doing pretty fine -- considering.  but that's when it happened.  the catalyst that set me off course, navigating me down a bad, bad turn...it was the tea bag itself.

Choosing a tea that came free with a thought for the day, this is what lay in wait, ripe for sabotaging my morning:

"The mind is energy.  Regulate it."

harmless, right.
good advice.
...wrong again.

it floats off  the edge of my tea cup just waiting for it...the natural burst, the spontaneous combustion of mind and matter.  there is only one way for this to go according to the G thing...as wrong track as it may sound. For my initial ah-ha moment, free for the thinking, flashed before me, saying to my self:

let's just hope Obama doesn't catch wind of this...

and doink, der it is...
that's when I realized, he already has.

Just watch, look, and listen to mainstream media -- otherwise known as the free-flowing commerce of propaganda and mind control.

yup -- hitting the rapids rather suddenly --  the spigot clogged, the creative mind ceased up, and happy go lucky G got herself plum stuck clinging to a rock, reaching for a branch of the tree of life.

here is just a few media matters to consider:

Thank you Brent Bozell, and the entire team at the Media Research Center, to bring to America's attention of the rampant, daily, weekly, monthly, media bias. All these stories came from MRC website, while you can  Go Here for more on the debt ceiling and the media, with Brent addressing the issue personally.

Okay *** Breaking News*** the NEW new bill just passed in the House.

It is on the way to the Senate.  way.

hold up...
hang on...
nope.  they will not bring this one to the floor of the Senate either. way.

so really, we are nowhere fast -- or is it more like the slow steep of my morning tea.

we have been addressing compromise all week...leave it to friday before actually looking it up in the dictionary.

Hold up a second --  before we delve deeper into the real definition -- you know -- first impression -- anytime someone refers to a some kind of compromising position -- our mind immediately imagines the worst.  am I right?  --  a sordid affair, an illegitimate business deal, a lowering of a standard of some kind in some way... yes way.... go on G...

More or less, compromising isn't always a good thing, right.

And that's what we get when we look it up -- sure, sure, it also says something to the effect of a coming together, making a mutual promise, settling differences by making mutual concessions.  sure, there is all that.

BUT it also says, a compromise -- generally speaking -- reflects a certain reduction in quality, values, or a degree of something; to expose or make liable to danger, suspicion, or disrepute; to impair by disease or injury; to settle...yes, by those sticky mutual concessions.

Fortunately, what is emerging from the tea leaves at the end of the day, comes a sense of relief.  Good fortune and a prosperous future may rely upon the 75% of Americans polled who believe America is going in the wrong direction, believing we are stuck on the wrong track -- while only 17% feel we are headed in the right direction.  This from rasmussen reports.

For a minute there, I was beginning to think the Obama-Spock mind control thing was working.

she's baaaaaack

compromising on america's debt -- whether it be a gang of six with twelve foot ceilings, or however the bonehead Boehner/Reid Bill turns out -- may be the worst thing we could ever do.  who's not to say that compromising is simply messing with the natural flow -- complicating America's inherent Chi -- by regulation; and hence, lowering our standards, reducing our abundance...completely narrowing the path to solvency and a sound future.

The feng shui masters of our birth gave us a foundation; they provided the Rule of Law to handle the free flow of material, of creative mind, with purpose and a duty -- as long as we tended to each our own.   America was built upon an independent, self -reliant spirit in each and every one of us, as the engine back behind a natural, wanting self-mastery, paving the way for success, prosperity and happiness.

we all messed up...a long long time ago.
Compromising now should be the last thing we cling to, that's all.

It's an All Grown Up Thing

Dear America,

obama is in puerto rico right this minute.
interesting.
first time a president has visited in fifty years.
political?   nah

Such is the administration of "transparency" --  we only get some in the areas a see through curtain isn't necessary,  warranted, or in the least bit, should be encouraged -- which covers all kinds of indiscretions, large and small, from the countless days leading as Campaigner-in-Chief and feeding the audience what it wants to hear --  to his minions, like the twitter-twit of an Anthony Wiener...which falls into the TMI category right quick.  boys will be boys.

happy tuesday everybody.  moving on to other things...

so --  last night -- the debate in New Hampshire -- sure did a bang up job solidifying the repeal of a presidency gone wild (and with it: obamacare, the unsanctioned war in Libya, the power of the federal reserve, the overzealous actions of the EPA, the growth of government...to the tune of 35% increase of our debt and the 20% unsustainable growth of our federal bureaucracy just to name the top five on the night).

That, along with casting a brand new light of things of little or no importance, bearing insight on the likes and dislikes for fascinating, yet petty points of interest.  For instance, Cain prefers "deep dish" over thin -- and Bachmann (in the only moment of the debate when she sounded indecisive), when she could not make up her mind between Elvis Presley or Johnny Cash.  [G note: going with a 'little less conversation' over 'walking the line' without even skipping a beat.]

Taking the lead from last night's moderator, CNN's John King, if we go the route of "this or that" or pass or fail, allow me to break things down in a jiffy:

Gingrich gave it a go to redeem himself (pass);

Pawlenty gave a fighting spirit to shake his 'vanilla-ness' (pass);

Cain gave it grandpa love with his folksy werther's appeal (pass);

Paul gave it a big throw down on the Fed, the Federal Reserve, and nearly every federal facet run amuck known to man, sometimes without taking a breath (pass);

Santorum gave it the college try against the oppressor flashing his young guns all around (pass);

Romney gave it full throttle politician (pass); and

Bachmann gave it her good girl goes to washington -- with all of her 28 kids -- and brings home the bacon and fries it up in the pan and still finding time to look damn good,  making it all look so easy breezy beautiful cover girl (pass).  [yes, go right ahead, and count all the decades we touched upon there]

They all passed, and some with flying colors.

The common refrain was making Obama a one term president; and even, just Today, the president remarked on just that:  From the Today Show with Ann Curry, he said, "Michelle and the kids are wonderful in that if I said, 'You know, guys, I want to do something different,' they'd be fine. They're not invested in daddy being president or my husband being president. But they do believe in what we're doing,"  Fine by me.  For more, go here.

All in all, any one of these guys (and doll) would be totally worthy of the office of the presidency -- not to say, that we, the people, do not have personal preferences already lining up.  We do.  But isn't it wonderful that the gang of seven last night are shades of what is to come.

And more than that, I am pleased to see that, more often than not, the diversity within the party is something of both mystery and majesty in motion; conservatives, especially, are not all cut from the same cloth -- we do not agree, hands down, on all things.  And what a joy it is to witness; there are all kinds of possibilities even when following along in ideology and standing side by side on stage; albeit somewhat predictable in part, it was a lively debate on ideas even within a single political thread.

Unlike the narrow minded pattern leading from the Left -- who seem to run on riot, rage, agenda and chaos -- the right is not led by the Union label, manufacturing divisiveness to create the fabric of social change, all the while usurping the powers of the people and this republic's Constitution.  The Right welcomes the opportunity for debate on the merits, in hopes of weaving the best solution, on all fronts from head to toe.

We have only just begun the political process of electing the next president of the United States.  But if all goes right, it will be someone brand new.  We don't have all the answers yet; all that has yet to be revealed.

And, as such, the anticipation alone might just get the best of us.  kinda of like waiting for a birthday or something.  America is experiencing a deep-seated need for change, only different; for it is all about the fundamental return to the finer details of what it means to keep our REPUBLIC safe and sound.

The thing is, we might be growing up.

And much like the benefits and challenges of growing a year older, we are wiser and fully aware of the set of new responsibilities that come along with reaching a new age -- and, at the same time, we are filled with excitement for all the brand new things that we can do now that we are, you know,  a year older and wiser.

We know what to do with the brand new bike; for we know what we did with the last one -- the one left out in the rain for days on end, the same one we have habitually thrown to the side of the house without a care of either scratch or knocking off the bell.  We know what we did last summer, and the summer before that, and the one before that.

All we could ever want now is another chance from the folks to trust us, for this time would be different -- even though, deep down we know,  we hardly deserve it (we just would never be caught dead admitting it).  Strangely, something seems to be happening within us -- that, along with our voices squeaking -- we have reached a pivotal time in our lives all together; and, in a remarkable turn of the seasons, we get it now; we know, that if we got a chance to do it all again,  we would cherish that bike in every way.

Of course, all things considered,  it is hardly worth lamenting all the ways we abused the old red schwinn -- not in this age where the misery index loves company; it is just time to move on and begin anew.  Out with the old and in with the new -- even if it is blue. (like everything else these days, "shovel ready was not as shovel ready as to be expected" per obama, hardy har har, meeting with his jobs council just yesterday, but I digress)

We will take what we get and roll with it.
We will take good care of it and never take it for granted again.
We will revel in the new age, a new morning in America -- and thrive --  riding like the wind.
And, we will, never forget.

happy birthday to me -- and to you -- a new day is about to begin.  Last night reminded me of how much I can hardly wait --  and, who knows, like birthday wish lists past and present, we might change our mind a number of times before the year is done and then some; which, in my experience, is a phenomenon totally expected dealing with the adolescent mind (and don't argue with me, we are, as I scream from the other room and slamming the door behind me).  Roll the eyes here.

In any event, yippy skippy  -- hip hip hooray for miss usa -- she just might turn out alright.  time will tell.and, shedding some light on mama's little secret,  goes a whole lot better with a little wine.  cheers.

and, just maybe it is time for a girl to take the handle bars.

Make it a Good Day, G

Dear America,

Happy Tuesday, not to be confused with happy tuesday next week, when it will be happy happy tuesday.

It doesn't even matter how it turns out really (okay, that's not entirely true, but let's run with it); it doesn't matter because this aberration of we the people,  the one that democrats keep denying, or discrediting, or lambasting into politico oblivion, is not going away anytime soon.

And all I have to say is, where is the respect for the debate, the open discussion, the brainstorming with both fronts fired up and ready to lay it all on the line based upon the merits of the argument?  Where is this fine tuned art form of pundit meeting up with political, ethical, economical and cultural repartee?

Mercedes Benz put this in my head with their new ad:  saluting the debate in all walks of life -- sports, the arts, politics -- oh right, and cars; we debate in our heads and out loud the pros and cons from everything to how will I look behind the wheel to which model suits the family best to what color -- cause that's what we do, as Americans.

Or take the ad for Fox News..."we are not a nation of wallflowers...we act...we don't lean...we move...forward"

It's who we are; it's what we do -- we debate, we move -- heaven's to betsy, we don't just lean (nice one...give that ad agency a bonus, going against MSNBC, who by nature merely leans -- and very left, too, never a balance of both sides, but who am I to care, who watches them anyway?)

Problem with today is, even if one leans or speaks in one direction, unless you are on the side leaning left, you get blasted for it, judged, fired, maybe even get a call from the White House...

A local minister here in the San Diego area should have a good story to tell soon; Dr. David Jeremiah will be having a "follow-up" call from Joshua Dubois, the president's liaison to the faith-based community, around 11:00 this morning.  Apparently, on Dr. Jeremiah's radio show, he said this:

"I do not believe he has been an asset to our country; I don't believe he's moved us forward in a good direction, and frankly, I am praying, along with many other believers, that in this mid-term election we will find a way to slow down this train that seems to be moving us toward socialism and away from our historical moorings," Dr. Jeremiah explained. "I'm really frightened about that, and I think in that respect, I believe he's a dangerous person."

It was the part when he said the word "dangerous" in describing the president that sounded the alarms.

Besides loving the tie into the idea of moving forward, badump ba, the very thought being voiced by the good doctor seems to be one that is quite familiar with the president already...having already been over used in his teleprompted speeches and well worn responses of this very same idea -- the people are afraid.

Going a step further, it is fine by him for a certain Dr. Jeremiah Wright to speak in clear terms of fear and judgment against the G*$D@#% America, in his ranting and ravings of "the chickens coming home to roost", blaming Bush for all evil and wishing him harm from the pulpit, a pulpit where our very own president sat beside as loyal follower and mentor-ship of twenty years -- but no, Dr. David Jeremiah, who wished no harm, who did not say it in a "mean-spirited way" -- for it is just his opinion, coming from his own pulpit of his national radio show -- THAT gets a phone call.

And like Juan Williams, formerly of NPR, who gets fired for just speaking his mind, his opinion, one that sat uncharacteristically on the far right, for just once, of his usual left wing ideology -- your done, cooked, thanks but no thanks for the last ten years of service and expert opinion and insight; you associated just a wee bit too much with the other side, Juan -- no longer just bordering the danger zone,  we consider you now fully tainted by the enemy -- and we're done, don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Even if we take a good look at how our dear president draws the sides should tell us everything we need to know; for just who is he wooing right now?  Who is he talking to -- as THE President of the whole United States?  Who is he addressing as his own, on his side?

College kids, Latinos, African-Americans, women in general -- but not in particular when it comes to a certain conservative leaning, Unions -- all of them -- including, those who use union dues for a political agenda that perhaps not all members agree with, along with urban communities organized everywhere  -- if minority, that is...He basically draws up the sides up, piece by piece, rhetoric by rhetoric, pinpointing a certain belief in someone's backyard, and running with it; cooking up whatever magic spell will work, matching up with whatever political bias he is with, pulling whatever punch line he can get away with -- in order to seal the deal.

Presidential?  Hardly -- not by a long shot; especially considering he was hired on account that he would be nothing like this.

The president made a point a few months back to say, in a commencement speech at the University of Michigan, "if we choose only to expose ourselves to opinions and viewpoints that are in line with our own, studies suggest that we become more polarized, more set in our ways."

Amen to that, but more important, just where did THIS president wander off to?

Oh, right, these days, it depends upon the moment, who's speaking, what they said (never mind the full context) and their political, spiritual, ideological affiliation.

The thing is, this is the wrong side of being right no matter who is in charge; the day we wipe honest to goodness debate off the face of this earth will be the day we die.  When there is no listening to both sides, the varied opinion, no matter how uncomfortable it may be, then we lose the possibility of real communication, the very prospect of making all things better across the board, or just maybe the chance to see the light altogether, and switch views entirely.

America has always valued the open debate, even going so far as settling the argument with a duel, using real guns, as crazy at it may sound (yes indeed...no lie...go ahead and read about Lincoln's era and the like) -- but that was then, and this is now; haven't we learned anything?

I wish I could run out and buy a Mercedes today; that ad worked on me like candy to a baby; but being a realist, and being so poor it takes everything out of me to pay attention, I will settle for simply taking the ad on as my muse for the day, and let the dream of sitting behind the wheel of a slick, brand spankin' new SL somethin' somethin' slip into my psyche and push me into the joy of a long, sexy, thought provoking banter with someone I love...a sleek convertible in champagne metallic has got nothin' on that. (I know, I am my own spin machine, look out world here I come vrroom vrroom)

What is dangerous, is the very thought of a phone call from the White House questioning someone's inherent God given freedom to speak freely in this country without reprimand -- but hopefully, Dubois is just calling to open up a conversation, to invite David over for a beer, a debate, a dialogue, or just maybe, he's reaching out to say that Obama is listening and will take better care of this country from now on.  It could be anything, anything at all.

I wonder what it will be...

Make it a Good Day, G

Tuesday, October 20, 2009

Dear America,

Good Morning, America!

There is just so much to say and so little time, people.
Hold on a second, I need to go put some socks on, my feet are cold.

As we continue a life of cloud's illusions as I recall, I really don't know clouds at all...

First let me say, I'm sorry; as today may take some time.
Honestly, I didn't know where to begin.  So I thought we would start with having some fun with a serious issue...that being the doom and gloom, the sky is falling case of GLOBAL WARMING.

You know, I had to laugh recently when one of San Diego's finest, Joan Embrey, our San Diego Zoo Ambassador was in a commercial for an upcoming charity event to raise money for something (my apologies, I can't remember what) yet what I can recall she was abusing the latest fad, or shall we say urban legend, the dying of Polar Bears.  In the 30 second spot, she actually claimed this, "if we don't act, two thirds of the world's Polar Bears may die in 50 years."  Ex squeeze me?  May die? Will they die, or not? And why 50 years, I thought the world was ending in ten?  And what is with the polar bears -- for real?

My research tells me they are still making babies; and in fact, globally, polar bear population has grown from about 5000 in the 60's to approximately 25,000 today.  Some populations have declined in certain areas, while others have seen dramatic increase, while the majority just experience a stable paradise in extremely low temperatures every day and apparently love it.  Holy Mackerel, oh cabana boy, bring me another seal.

You know, I love polar bears, but I love the baby seals too; what's a girl to do about that?  I mean, loving both equally -- torn between two lovers -- will I have to choose between who lives and who dies, if it comes down to that? So many questions, so little time.

Now there was a time, in the first millennium, oooh and maybe the second one too, when we officially lived under Brut Rule -- when everybody was killing each other just to survive; thank God that's changed, huh.  We've talked about this before, all over the globe, the only way some people managed to survive was by killing another; otherwise accepted as the survival of the fittest mentality, which is precisely what the prevailing law of the animal kingdom lives and dies on today.

They must eat to live, and therefore kill to eat; don't be sad, this is what animals do.

Truth is, polar bears were nearly extinct come the 1970's after centuries of being slaughtered in nature and by man -- who wanted them for food and fur -- killed by the sword, the gun, the mouths of whales -- anyway, anyhow, except by way of global warming.  Today, they are finally reaching sizable populations again, through accountable actions and strict hunting measures in place  -- yet, because it is still a free planet, people still KILL more polar bears than any warming trend could ever do.

But really, isn't there a basic law of nature at play -- being such that animals learn to adapt to their environments?  Honestly, which animal deserves to die while another one eats, are humans judge and jury on that one, too?  We are sooooooooooooo egotistical it's not even funny.

Yes, the last hundred years of the industrial revolution and cars has created a lot of pollution; but the temperature trends of the last 2000 years and counting continues to march on around us, with or without us -- up and down...highs and lows...good days and bad -- this isn't anything new unto the world.  What's more, scientists are beginning to understand how they have possibly overlooked a rather huge phenomenon reflective of climate changes and somewhat more directly related, and that being, the SUN... hmmm ( say it with your index finger cascading your chin)  More on sun spots later, we need to stay focused.

Cleaning up after ourselves is smart and spot on; but taxing America into oblivion as the rest of the world carries on business as usual?     Come on.

So here we are, with emotional pleas from around the globe to save the polar bears if nothing else; but the something else is how this self serving agenda will kill American jobs, growth, prosperity and adversely affect maybe even a mere 300,000 million lives in taxation and loss of personal freedoms.

Listen up, if you will:

CAP and TAX...just one state's take and well done -- go cheese heads x

al gore speaking ...not what you think, so don't be scared to watch

ron paul ...an entertaining Ron, as it's not really Ron, but Ron's words artistically rendered

just a guy...just a good 'ole boy with spot on global thoughts

just another guy... brace yourself... kind of silly...worthy however of four minutes of your time

Global Warming Hoax main page...need I say more

Global Warming 101...easy to understand...and charts go way back...have some fun with it

It was asking a lot of you to take the time to plug yourselves in to the real truth -- much appreciated.  I hope it was entertaining while at the same time enlightening to other points of view.

Truth hurts, especially after investing millions upon millions of dollars -- people like Al Gore
and George Soros have reputations to uphold and all, but you know where my head goes, I just wonder how they sleep at night, besides the obvious, with the window closed.   Have they not looked back to the last hundred years, and beyond?  Is it just me, how could anyone look at headlines and temperature trends of the last century and not have a clue?

NY Times in 1912: "an ICE AGE is encroaching"

Washington Post in 1923: "the ICE AGE is coming here"

...this also happens to be the time when scientists predicted Canada would be totally wiped out

...oooh, but it warmed up by the thirties through the fifties

...no, then it cooled again from the sixties through the eighties

...no, then it warmed up again from the eighties through about 1998 or so

...scratch that, now officially cooling again just about the time before the last year of Bush, in 2007

The entire argument for global warming is based upon theories surrounding a little scientific element called Carbon Dioxide, CO2.
"It is a colorless, odorless and incombustible gas that is formed during respiration, combustion, and organic decomposition and use in food refrigeration, carbonated beverages, inert atmospheres, fire extinguishers, and aerosols...  It is through the carbon cycle , the cycle of natural processes i which atmospheric carbon in the form of carbon dioxide is converted to carbohydrates by photosynthesis, metabolized by animals, and ultimately returned to the atmosphere as a carbon dioxide waste or decomposition product,"  with thanks to the American Heritage Dictionary.
It comes out of our mouth; clearly, if we have to stop driving cars operated on fossil fuels and cease having industry capabilities able to economically compete with the rest of the world, we might as well all shut up too.

Make it a Good Day, G

What I want for christmas - besides world peace - would be for all this madness to go away...

Debate is over...I'm ending the debate. Today.  Shut up already.
