It's Summer Composition Numero Uno Thing

Dear America,

it's summer time; and right on cue, given it is now August, it has come complete with...
summer distractions,
summer attractions,
summer excursions and
summer exertions...
for the plethora of summer affections runs wide and long and high and deep.

But almost without warning, the ebb and flow of my usual day has suddenly come to a complete stop; today marks the beginning of a little stay-cation, as they say, for the old Gthang... with a little house sitting, a little dog sitting (Simon), a little kitty sitting (Dexter), and even a little bearded dragon sitting (Charlie)...So as our summer weather continues to be hot and humid with no relief in sight, this girl will be drowning in a pool of testosterone and chewy toys, and what's not to love about that?  Just me and d'boys in the hood, for a fortnight and a day and all play.

And of all things, there is even leftover pizza in the fridge!  Say it isn't so.
...and it's probably enough to feed me for the next 36 hours -- if managed like a man on mars with limited resources (and that is just a plug for a great summer flick)  --  if re-calculating the remaining slices to be spaced out about 9 hours apart.  Not that it's necessary to conserve; there are grocery stores and strip malls full of take-out within a three mile radius in every direction, so it's all good. [Not to mention, I brought whisky! Of course...duh. Jameson, just in case you're wondering...]

But wouldn't it be nice not to have to leave the house for a day, or two, or even three? And for that matter, why even brush my teeth.

And just like that, let the summer non-glam-ping begin --  albeit a mere twelve minutes away from home, as the crow flies --  and yet, with the curtains closed to protect the neighbors, and a little imagination, I am already feeling a world apart.

For it's not my house.  This isn't how I live.  I am not surrounded with my things, aside from a few books brought over for navigation; I may as well be high in the Himalayas, aiming to experience nirvana, with my only companion being the rarefied thin air and an occasional sighting of an Himalayan big horned blue sheep (which, just to be clear, is neither blue nor a sheep...teehee).

...as a crazy thought hits me right about the third eye region .......interrupting nirvana..... and causes me to pause and wonder.... perhaps, miracles upon miracles, I can write a little something something, for it's been such a long long time....

Oh yes, bring on the summer compositions --  complete with summer exclamations, damnations, and sensations --  anyone?  Maybe even a whole string of 'em...just, like, one G thing after another, after another.   Who needs tennis when there is pizza, a laptop, and a comfy recliner so perfectly aligned, right?  Does it even matter what time it is?  Aside from feeding the wee menagerie, all things considered, the truth of the matter is that all things conventional have gone on a little holiday, as well.

The routine.. brand.new, and sitting awfully close to non-existent.

The common trappings of the makings of three balanced meals, is non-obligatory, fully discretionary, and not even shared with anyone.

I am alone and not only living in a new galaxy, but am entirely rotating around my own private sun, in my own little orbit, and given all the makings of seclusion, not a thing should bump into me for days, if all things go as planned.

summer contemplation, I'd like you to meet, summer composition; oh, how do you do...and like magic, the mind will piece together a few thoughts, the fingers will tap a few words, and before you know it, the little diary that could manages to make it over the mountain for another day. [I know, I know, I went from space imagery to a train without connecting the tracks....oh well.]

[And that's just the opening,  albeit coming to a complete stop.]
Keep calm and blog on...
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
In the beginning
God created the heaven and the earth.
Genesis 1:1

It's almost this basic.

It feels as if, as a whole, as a society, as a culture, these United States of America fails to understand its relationship to Creation, to our Creator, if at all. We are growing less about creation and more about destruction.

In my Catholic devotional this morning, the first page opened to discusses Nature vs. Grace.  And it begins with a word from Christ, saying: "My child, I want you to become a spiritual man, that is, one who is wise enough to recognize the various forms of self-deception and the many graces which come your way each day.  There is in your nature a deep selfishness which does not always seek what is really good for you..."

Continuing with, "Nature is selfish.  It will try to enjoy everything on earth and still gain Heaven.  Even where sin is involved, nature attempts to make excuses, for self and looks for reasons to favor self."

In America, we have grown selfish, drawn to our nature side versus grace, in every way.

So much so, we have lost sight of what made America exceptional in the first place, upon her creation, at a time when our founders recognized that which was fully divined and orchestrated by the hand of God, and made real with the words, Divine  Providence; while it took the Revolutionary War, to cement it into history, creating the pathway to the life, the liberty, and the pursuit of happiness as proclaimed in our Declaration of Independence, and ultimately, the ability to create and be and do anything  in America, for one and for all.

This liberty made the history, that produced the precedence, to make the ability for a Facebook, and its founders,  to make billions of dollars.

How dare they censure history, how dare they coddle its membership and their community of followers within it's liberal, leftist universe by controlling content -- especially if such content is simply another American bearing opposition politics and ideology.

Case in point:  Elizabeth Heng.
To which she lambastes Zuckerberg, saying,
“It is unbelievable that Facebook could have such blatant disregard for the history that so many people, including my own parents, have lived through,” said Elizabeth. “I’m sure it is shocking for some people to hear about this kind of injustice, but this is reality. This is why I wake up every single day with the fight and determination to have a voice and make a difference in my community. Neither Facebook nor any other company in the tech industry get to silence our stories. We’ve seen it over and over again with Republican candidates and organizations. This kind of censorship is an attack on the freedoms that we have as Americans to express what we believe in, and we must hold Facebook accountable.”
It's a sad day for America.

And not that I'm all that into this guy.....but about the Alex Jones bruhaha...

Yeah, its all fine and dandy and tastes like candy until somebody comes after your views, your ideology, your religion, your freedom of speech, your right to assemble, etc. etc...

It may not be pretty these days in America, there is that. [Hypocrisy lives in all kinds of neighborhoods and states of mind.]

But, by golly, if we lose our ability to speak freely, to ask questions, to question authority, to say that is wrong or this is right -- then we have lost everything, in my book, everything.

But to everything there is a season, right.. turn, turn, turn....

And it is summer right now...
....and this girl is house sitting and dog sitting and kitty sitting and bearded dragon sitting as of right now.  There is hope that a string of Gthings will wind their way to you through the wonderful world of the  www over the next couple of weeks, as more precious time becomes more and more all mine.

I am just pleased that I showed up today.

Blog #944 is in the can: summer composition numero uno.

Make it a Good Day, G

Dear America,

THE PRESIDENCY BY NUMBER

twenty percent of Americans lean far left

oh looky here, twenty-two percent of Americans strongly approve of Obama; while 45% of Democrats strongly approve.

and to the other side...forty percent of Americans strongly DISapprove; while 71% of Republicans strongly disapprove.  For Indy's, sixteen percent strongly approve, with 39% strongly disapproving.  Overall, 46% of Americans "somewhat approve," with 52% "somewhat disapproving."

53% say repeal Obamacare

60% say the economy is getting worse

59% say drill baby drill

61% say any child born to an illegal immigrant should not be an American citizen

and filling in the final number with a glaring sea of seeing red, a whopping 70% say they DO NOT LIKE the direction this country is headed.

Even with a strongly LIKED president, as a person, if the election were held today, the numbers say ANY GOP candidate could take it. Consider Obama up against a man who hasn't even officially thrown his name in the hat; against Trump, the johnny-come-lately with freakozoid 'birther' tendencies, the president garners a mere 49% of the vote, with The Donald taking 34% -- and nobody even thinks he is running!

All the while, the sitting president must be shaking, having entered campaign mode with a vengeance this past week; general civility and statesmanship is already muddying the waters -- as true colors rear their ugly head -- certainly, behavior unbecoming of a commander-in chief, a new world order humanitarian, peacekeeper and diplomat, with a side of international man of mystery, no?

The White House, just yesterday, "rebuked" recent comments from a famous preacher, Franklin Graham. From the briefing room, Carney said,  "I think it's unfortunate that a religious leader would choose Easter Sunday to make preposterous charges."  What were those "preposterous charges" pray tell?

responding to a question citing the Trump connection and the birther fixation, Graham said,

"The president, I know, has some issues to deal with here. He can solve this whole birth certificate issue pretty quickly...[responding to further questions]
...There are many people that do wonder where he really stands on that. Now, he has told me that he is a Christian. But the debate comes, what is a Christian?...
For him, going to church means he's a Christian. For me, the definition of a Christian is whether we have given our life to Christ and are following him in faith and we have trusted him as our lord and savior.
God is the only one who knows his heart."

I'm not seeing any judgment.  I'm not even seeing any mean spirited self righteous boasting.

As Carney decries the claims, like geeze guys, look at him...

"The president took his family to church in a very high-profile way to celebrate Easter"...
"I think it was highly visible to most Americans. And he, as a devoted Christian, he believes it's a very important holiday for him personally, for his family and for Christians around the country."

hasn't anyone tooled him on the art of a making a defense without sounding defensive?  didn't Carney walk right smack into the message Franklin Graham laid down  --

...it's not about the show
...it's not about perception
...it's not about "[taking] his family to church in a very high-profile way," you nimrod!
...it's not about making one's faith so visible it could poke your eye out.

True faith is a silent celebration and reverence to the Most High; the authenticity of one's true faith can only be seen and judged by God, only in relationship with Him, as in "God is the only one who knows his heart."

What did Graham say so wrong?  Why the rebuke?  Passing no judgment is grounds for a presidential rebuke now?  and even the whole birther thing...all Graham did (just as Trump) was redirect the interest back to Obama to settle the debate once and for all...as far as the mix of faiths in Obama's history -- it's just fact.  He is being led by what Obama has proclaimed to be his own truth, written in his own words, in his own book.  Obama clearly admits that he has commingled his religions too -- his Christianity and his Muslim faiths have each taken sizable turns with the brush of dominance in his life -- and where it stops nobody knows (so under Robert's Rule of Order, I, second the motion: "God is the only one who knows his heart").

But back to the rebuke:  what is the big deal?  why the defensiveness?  IF the goods are there, if there are no issues, the long form birth certificate with the I's dotted and the T's crossed will settle everything.  Get it and be done with it.  UNLESS, you want to continue to riddle the right with ridicule for a reason, as if it serves a purpose; UNLESS, in fact the long form paints a different picture from the defensive declarations coming from the genuine article itself -- giving way to a reality nobody should ever lay eyes on -- there is that.

The only reason the president is not settling the debate is that this display of who's calling who ridiculous still works to his favor -- poll wise -- that is, if there was a poll illustrating such.  Deep down, Obama believes his own invincibility, that he is winning the future every time a birthing question gets thrown out on a whim and a prayer; it perpetuates the injustice against him for no rhyme or reason; it makes the right look foolish; it invigorates his base and reinforces the organization for his re-election.  We walk right smack dab into it. and the cycle goes round and round.

You know what's funny...now that Obama is in full campaign mode a year and half from the voter's box...where is one of his first stops?  Northern California, to entertain a billionaire sixteen times over and still four years away from thirty -- facebook founder, Mark Zuckerberg. So the "self-made millionaire" himself, Obama, begins his march against the rich facing one of the richest young bucks in the nation, if not the world.  Interesting.  The web of hypocrisies is astounding...did you catch that, there in the light of day?  the contrast is beautiful, isn't it?

You know, the president has all kinds of wealthy followers -- people who have made bank in the naughty capitalistic free market experiment going on here in America; let's bring out all the colors of the rainbow and draw up a short list:  Zuckerberg.(16 Billion net worth)...George Soros (carrying a net worth only around 14 B's), Warren Buffet (62 B's), Oprah (mere 3 B's) ...Bill Gates (56 B's)...Arianna Huffington (hardly worth counting @ about 100 million)...you get my drift...lots of wealthy wealthy friends (listing the big O was the closest thing we got to Hollywood...)

The greatest number to fear in today's election cycle is the mounting debt; a debt in which the IMF, as of just yesterday, declared, that in less than five years, if we don't make a course correction, we are gone.  gone baby gone.  bye bye miss american pie.  as there would be no point even calling each other names and taking sides, for america would be made in china for the rest of time.  But, knowing this, even if you added up all the numbers, took every last dime from every single heavy hitter, deep pocket, High-Baller from coast to coast, we would still never have enough to pay down this debt (and not even close to counting the 50 Trillion in unfunded liabilities and entitlements, of course).

The thing is, with everything there is a yin and a yang; there is always light and dark at play --  truth and lies in what we say -- good and evil intermingling with the every day.  The only thing we do know for certain, is there is always a proportion of yin and yang within all that we see, everything we do, taking into account all that is seen and unseen, whether we agree with it, approve of it, believe it, or dismiss it altogether.  And for believers, only God knows what is in our heart; only God sees what we cannot see.

which should give us all the more reason to pause and check ourselves in the day to day -- are we being honest?  are we being loving?  are we honoring our mother and our father and the people we love with our whole heart?  not because we have to but because we want to, because deep in our heart we know that this is what God wants..  Are we treating each other fairly, and with respect?  are we leading by example in our best way possible?  are we living in peace, if only with our children and our neighbors and our community in  which we live?  are we trying to communicate openly and without judgment, are we trying to solve the mounting issues coming from a place of virtue, civility and courage?  how do we emulate the character and qualities we want our children to embrace and imitate?

It isn't so much the wealth that is the problem, is it Mr. President?  You can't tell me the generosity of strangers who support the communities and charities that keep children alive, who protect and care for families far and wide, who give of themselves, as well as their hard earned money -- you can't tell me that  this money isn't working on the side for Good. Wealth is not evil, just as a gun is not bad; it is what we do with it -- it always gets back to the character deep inside the individual...something we cannot see for sure...something only God knows...

As you are well aware, Mr. President, as Christians we believe in the Ten Commandments; one of them goes something like this,  "You shall not covet thy neighbor's house....wife...ox...donkey....or anything that belongs to your neighbor."

By all accounts, redistribution of wealth by the numbers does not sit well with the people; but when you get right down to it --

and I could be wrong about this...
being it's not for me to judge and all...

but it would appear, in a very big way...

...this fundamental transformation thing you got going on here by way of social justice by way of redistribution of wealth by way of robbing the rich to give to the poor by way of punishing the rich for taking all the risks by way of stifling the natural urges to reach the depths and breadths of our very own self-reliance and experience a world made with our own two hands and be able to stand back and look upon it and say, wow. that is good and be joyful -- actually goes against the word of God.

but again, God is the only one who knows for sure; and that, along with the poll numbers, we can take all the way to the bank and back.

Make it a Good Day, G

and didja know this?  78% of Americans believe Jesus to be the Son of God (still).  Truth. Light. Love. it's a good day.

Dear America,

TWITTER FEED WEDNESDAY:

"regrettably the time has come 4 Pres Mubarak 2 step down relinquish power"
So, I am going to get right to 'the thing' today...

anytime we "tweet" foreign relations and policy advise, we look like idiots when it comes from someone so high up on the political food chain, like John McCain; I mean, we might as well have had Megan immediately follow up with, 'yeah, like, now's the time, Mubarak is soooo out of here.'

and don't even get me started on the abbreviations...seriously? are we in sixth grade civics?

and if all that wasn't bad enough, he had a sit down with Obama? did you tell him his health care legislation really sucks and his mama wears army boots?  (that last part is just something I remember from when I was twelve...there is no other deeper meaning than that, seriously, it's just that stupid).

I love the comment made by Dick Morris last night, comparing something Colin Powell had once said in relation to Iraq: "you break it, you buy it..." -- and quickly spun it around addressing Obama's new start treaty made expressly for Egypt...repeating, "you break it, you buy it."

And if we were all wondering what in the world Israel was thinking...now we know that too; a resounding WTF America? is chiming out of the airwaves there...yeah, I think it was tweeted by somebody in the ministry of foreign affairs...no, no, I'm sorry, it was a real live conversation:
"I don't think the Americans understand yet the disaster they have pushed the Middle East into," said lawmaker Binyamin Ben-Eliezer, who until recently was a Cabinet minister and who is a longtime friend of Mubarak.
"If there are elections like the Americans want, I wouldn't be surprised if the Muslim Brotherhood didn't win a majority, it would win half of the seats in parliament," he told Army Radio. "It will be a new Middle East, extremist radical Islam." within the article linked above, written by Amy Teibel of the Associated Press
while silly Americans are just going to market, getting ready for bean dip and nachos and pizza in less than 72 hours, without a care in the world -- no, scratch that, we care, it's just that this crazy town activity isn't anywhere close to our back yard...it doesn't affect the outcome of the big game... doesn't really have anything to do with you or me, right?... they can work it out... "the youth" have staying power and will prevail... trading a Mubarak for an ElBaradei, what does it really matter in the great scheme of life?

Wrong again.

But yesterday said it all:  apparently, we now live in a world where it is totally cool to tweet major, hyper-sensitive, international relations recommendations -- a.k.a. unwarranted and ill advised advice -- from a political has-been with a penchant for attention -- and nobody thinks anything of it.

This week has accidental tourist written all over it, between how we began the week focusing on the horrors of Super Bowl entertainment, and an advertising campaign built around the idea, "I'm not buying it" -- to later, questioning the authenticity of the Egyptian sit down and America's involvement, thinking to myself, I'm sure not buying that... -- to today, recognizing the latest 21st century truism, what we 'break-ah you buy-ah' (may I recommend a Turkish accent on the fly) no matter how costly or where we are around the globe.

I should be tweeting, 'it's a stunning turn of events for this little American girl.'of course, adding a frown-y face at the tail end :(

The worst part is, we haven't even entered into the worst part.

And now, given the side of the bed President Obama has chosen to lay, spinning this in America's favor, or simply desperately trying not to say another word for fear it may make things worse, will be all the more more difficult.  The stage has been set; the hyper-ganda extravaganza has already begun; we have already meddled too much; we have made our bed; we are responsible for breaking Egypt and Israel relations, by rolling over on top of them both in one fell swoop --

how did we get here?  did someone slip us a roofie?  what were we thinking?

Our president has now made a situation; he will have to choose between standing up for Israel and our rich history of Judeo-Christian relations, deeply and defiantly defending the homeland for a vast majority of the world -- and the very birthplace of America's soul,OR

he will choose a certain and specific Islamic state -- and not the peaceful kind (as we would be kidding ourselves if a certain Egyptian democracy could  rise all of a sudden from this rubble like a Phoenix).

for me, on this "happy thursday" (yeah right) -- I am finding myself unable to breathe.

perhaps we should just Twitter and Facebook out to all our friends to meet up on the White House lawn... asking for a sit down and then a step down -- and maybe not in that order -- this might be the only way to go, in order to command a certain respect that, already, our president seems akin to understanding -- some would say he is almost advocating, right?  -- hey, it's just us "youth" out here, demanding our rights of universal humanity and best interests to be heard...can you can dig it? yo, Mr. President?

Between the absurdity of signing off on an UNLAWFUL and UNCONSTITUTIONAL health care law -- a sorry piece of legislation that already has more organizations and states opting out than those supporting it, waiving any and all agreements to abide by it, making it null and void for a few, leaving whoever shall be left to pay for it, while magically manipulating Medicare monies to cover 500 billion of it's costs, of which, will never see the light of day -- 70% of the people, 27 states, 729 waivers later -- how about we tweet this all together now shall we: "we'r not buy'n it mr. prez -- give it up 2day"  For more good tweets, go to The Morning Bell's feature this morning from The Heritage Foundation...I love, love, love these guys.

Oh how I wish the main man was a conservative -- he's cute, funny, and who can say no to him really?  I cannot tell you how much I wish I admired his taste in politics, ideology, and his whole social justice thing going on; I wish I could love more than just his pretty face, truly I do...and you can blame his wife, Michelle, for the fixation on his looks this morning...remember when she told us all not to vote for somebody just because "she's cute" -- I mean, my gosh, compare ObamaBabe to G's first hit of the day, M'key dodo bird; hands down, no contest.

But seriously, this guy can't get out fast enough if you ask me, and I hear you, loud and clear, nobody is...

Hanging on the way things are said and done these days, let's just leave it at the realization that the world is in for a world of hurt -- and coming to a theater near you shortly -- stay tuned to your Twitter/Facebook page '2 find out whr u shud run hide 4ever'...Australia's looking pretty good...except for a little water damage...at least everybody has their own accidental moat...as the glass is always half full in G's world (and regularly, it's red wine).

In the meantime, may I suggest loading up on not only the potato skins this weekend, but also a few things you might really need one day soon...you know, things like water, canned goods, flashlights, batteries, blankets, gas masks...just a little humorous advice from someone we like to call Uncle Ted xx

and hey now :) happy happy thursday 2 all and 2 all a

G'Day, G

guess who's playing on Dear America?
yup.
give it up 4 Adele, one more time rahhhhhhhhhhh
enjoy.

...now don't look so surprised
...I told you what to expect
...all week I forewarned
...and if you are adept at reading in-between the lines, all the better, yo?
