It's High Time We Get Our Priorities Straight Thing

Dear America,

Providence, as Divine as It is, is surely with us, enabling us to get through anything and everything -- be it a Clinton presidency, a Bush presidency, an Obama presidency, and even a Trump presidency (which at this present time, is still standing, and standing fierce....well, at least he is.).   Forever a Never Hillary, while Never being a Never Trump-er, my heart and vote were one and the same come election day, come hell or high water.  I may have even said that phrase aloud; surely it came with a prayer. 

Thing is, as I believe anyway, Divine Providence has been with us from the start, built into our hearts and minds and spirit, because our founders recognized something, and something huuuuge.  America has been the exception -- ergo exceptional -- by the making of the INDIVIDUAL king, and as long as the INDIVIDUAL held up to its end of the bargain, all would be well, and well indeed, and there would literally be no end. 

As long as the INDIVIDUAL stayed on the path of right action -- aiming to move and witness and relate to one another in the same spirit as our Creator, with awesome intelligence built in, being fully made in God's image -- then surely all the days of our life would be good.  Of course, not without adversity -- but all good, all God, as each day would come same as the day before only asking of us one thing: to stay connected to the Source; for a people, individually and collectively, acting in faith, responding with love, and uniting wholly under One God, indivisible, can do anything when we put our hearts and minds together.

So the thing is, just how can this formula continue to work if we take out the foundation right out from under all of our feet?

Newsflash:  It Doesn't

It is no accident that the more the establishment in government has ballooned to promote the idiocy that the government is the one who can fulfill and satisfy and make tangible every individual need, the less the people are inclined to know God and rely on God, first and foremost.

In my favorite read, The Five Thousand Year Leap, W. Cleon Skousen briefly summarizes something pretty profound from John Locke's thoughts in, Essay Concerning Human Understanding, and proceeds to give us this little gem:

"In it Locke pointed out that it defies the most elementary aspects of reason and experience to presuppose that everything in existence developed as a result of fortuitous circumstance.  The mind, for example, will not accept the proposition that the forces of nature, churning about among themselves, would ever produce a watch, or even a lead pencil, let alone the marvelous intricacies of the human eye, the ear, or even the simplest of organisms found in nature.  All these are the product of intelligent design and high precision engineering."  Again, that's Skousen paraphrasing a Locke thought...

and Skousen then added this in the very next paragraph....and I add it now just for our own amusement (because a little levity is good right about now) --

"Locke felt that a person who calls himself an "atheist" is merely confessing that he has never dealt with the issue of the Creator's existence.  Therefore, to Locke an atheist would be to that extent "irrational," and out of touch with reality; in fact, out of touch with the most important and fundamental reality."

wow, right?   

Mind.  Blown.

So I look about now, at the forces of nature afoot -- whether it be the floodwaters and unrelenting rain in the city of Houston and its surrounding counties, or the floodwaters raging within the halls of government, leading America into total bankruptcy in every way -- and my heart bleeds and my mind explodes.

Here is just a mix of stories to churn about in your head --

The greatest fears of our founders is coming about -- the totality of our goodness for which it stands and from which it comes,  is being torn asunder.

Communists have always known the secret in the skillful takeover of the mind, setting up for the moral authority to be handed down by man, allowing for the oppressor to take command:  simply take away thy faith in God.  (For more on that, go to another Skousen read:  The Naked Communist)

Our strength does not come from Washington D.C., people.

Our courage does not come from Mitch McConnell -- or anything close to that.

Our ability to do the right thing, for the right reasons, at the right time comes from somewhere deep inside our being -- for as its been often said before, we are human beings not human doings.

The kind of peace that passes all understanding only comes from one place and nothing can substitute God....even if it sounds almost the same -- as in everything ending with dot GOV dot COM.

Looking to government to act according to its purest of nature is a lost cause completely; for what is government but a group of human beings with human frailties and weaknesses.  And yet our entire culture has wrapped itself around it like its the mother of all mothers, the end all and the be all of every living thing we do.

Did you know that the U.S. Senate reads George's Farewell Address every year?  It began in the year 1862, being used as a "morale-boosting gesture" during the dark days of our Civil War....according to THIS page, anyway, @ wide world without end amen   dot  senate   dot  gov...  Senator Ben Sasse read it this year.

Given the level of productivity and depravity coming from the flood of oppressive legislation and the clear, unmitigated, unconscionable, usurpation of America's Constitution over the last hundred years, what began in 1862, with honorable intention and providence, has seemingly become nothing more than empty sentiment, for appearances only, my guess.  Wonder if any of our fine gentlemen and ladies are even listening,  with the ears that which our good God gave them?   Are they even aware, with eyes wide open by the gift of God, of all that is seen and unseen through the human eyes and human spirit and human mind of good ole George?  For me thinks not, as his masterful recommendations and thoughts point directly to our downfall, the consequences of our ways are here.... and here to stay unless we do something about it.

And don't even get me started -- it's not just about the waywardness of our fine Senate.  C'mon, now, we are all at fault for the reality we make, good, bad, or indifferent.

twenty trillion dollars in debt, with no end in sight, and with half a nation totally dependent upon government to live -- is a nation underwater

Instagram and Twitter and Facebook are not the Way, the Truth, and the Light.

attacking Christian groups and individuals and getting away with it, takes a nation, once firmly under God, nowhere good  -- it becomes a nation drowning in a soul-less, secular disaster

growing dependency upon government over God, goes against everything this nation was founded upon -- taking with it our firm foundation, taking with it our brotherly love, taking with it our peaceful co-existence with our fellow man, and all the while, taking with it our capacity as individuals to rise above our troubles and adversity to grow good character, taking with it our capacity to excel in our life's work following our God-Given purpose, and in the end, crushes our ability to live in liberty and freedom for one and for all, and albeit, collectively in the end.  This is life underwater and sitting at the bottom of an ocean of a new deity called GOV.

This should smack each and every one of us across the face, just as much as the horrific scenes coming out of Houston.  It's just high time we get our priorities straight.

It's a Thoroughly Shaken and Stirred Thing

such is the day in the life of America...

for the substance with which we actually live by, and prosper in both wisdom and grace, is not of a fleeting matter! and yet we rebuke its essential value every single day, men and women alike. 

America was made by the ideas and the very works and the constant striving of men -- men of the age of enlightenment and profound understanding of truth.  Encouraged by a deep faith in Divine Providence, our Declaration of Independence and our Constitution were written, nearly in stone, and laying the foundation of these great United States.  And now look at us.

What we have in government today, is a great mockery of such a state of reverence and austerity of long ago; while every intention to keep WE the PEOPLE protected of such evil corruption has been torn asunder, now finding ourselves fully under the power and oppression generated at the state.  And a great example of such a fraud against the American people, is quickly found within the GOP response to Obamacare.

How the GOP is so unprepared for this very moment is beyond words, really.  

For goodness sake, man, we've had seven years to get at the ready; not to mention, the many concerns and questions of Obamacare have been answered nearly completely by organizations and conservative think tanks, places like The Heritage Foundation, and one currently led by a good and decent countryman, Jim DeMint.

Health care must be placed back in the hands of the free market, and the free market only.  For all it's done so far --  this abomination called Obamacare --  is tie an iron chain around the neck of the American livelihood and economy, cementing another entitlement upon the backs of the hardworking Middle Class (for the wealthy are basically unaffected, and the poor carry no responsibility whatsoever).

If Obamacare was wrong under Obama, it is still wrong under a man of another name.  (That's just a GTHING proverb of the modern age...)

This morning -- in the wake of all the mystery and mayhem of the wiretapping and the mounting troubles dealing with the hold over Obama Administration people, the clear and present danger of insubordination on steroids -- my American spirit feels violated.   

I can only imagine what the president is thinking, but perhaps he will continue to cling to his ability to tweet and tell us exactly that.  I've been trying not to pay any attention to it, thinking it will just go away.  But this is some kind of serious mischief within, and my cries of what to do, what to do, has evolved into a call out to the heavens for some undeserved assistance.  Any guidance right now, whether from King Solomon or beyond... America needs all the help she can get.

If I were president, this girl would go office by office and root out the evil and say, you're fired.  You're fired.  And you're fired, too.  Cleaning house comes naturally, you know what I mean.

And speaking of which -- gotta love what we are celebrating today:  women.   Although, for some reason, the "Day without Women" march is designed to include the "gender oppressed" too.   It's like, what?  why?  Who decided to throw upon the shoulders of every woman one more thing?   I mean -- I'm a girl -- why can't women just have our day, right?  What a corruption of the overarching message of raising awareness of the essential roles WOMEN play in society, right?  But this is the Home Page:

This is nothing more than leftist March Madness, and just another version of what happened in January...remember this?

And seriously, women -- are you really feeling oppressed in this day and age?  Seriously, little miss CEO, little miss small business owner, little miss congresswoman, little miss talk show icon, little miss facebook high ranking officer, little miss doctor, attorney, professor, pastor?  After all we've been through, and given the aspirations of girls far and wide are being realized in the every day -- how can we gather together like this, if not for simply making a whole lot of political hay after taking all the live long day to sow the very seeds that further divide us?  [And even little g recognizes her limitations on getting her point across, so by all means,  go here for more on this from The Patriot Post]

This method of marching is simply solidifying the objectifying of women; turning us into a cause instead elevating the pure, God given life force we women truly are, a freeking awesome life force capable of being the sole provider of all the world's naturally born children, too.  Can I get an amen?

Although all in favor of human rights, equity and justice for all, the organizers might as well have made it clear that girls like me need not apply either; for it is my belief, in the spirit of equality for all, that men are just as essential to the life and times as women -- and upon equal footing, too!  (yes, and isn't that just crazy....teehee)   A day without men would be just as empty.

MEN and WOMEN are equally precious, equally worthy, and to actually know this knowledge, and recognize it, and appreciate both in equal portion -- in both work and play -- then you would also have to know God.  For these are the basic teachings found in the Bible.

And, as a matter of record, this girl doesn't need a man or society to validate her own self-worth, just sayin'.  For that, sisters and brothers, comes from a higher plane, and a gender of It's Very Own....yay God x   

And finally, and most certainly, without a shred of doubt,  I believe it is the ying and yang of everything, large and small,  that makes everything work; one thing is not greater than another. 

Oh this day,

this day finds me simply shaken AND stirred, with not an olive in sight. 

Whether it's the men or the women -- we all carry the equal potential to suck from time to time; that being said, we the people are turning ourselves, and our body politic,  into something unrecognizable.  Only a loving God knows who we truly are and where we go from here, for my meek and troubled mind fails to see the good that all this brings today.  

Fortunately, we who call ourselves believers know this simple truth:  "there is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven."  

Rumor has it, we get one more try at this thing called life tomorrow.

It's Just an Echo Heard 'Round the World Thing

so talk about disturbing...

over the weekend, my in-box was assaulted.  

Yeah, "Paul Ryan" sent me two emails -- both within thirty minutes of each other -- the first, titled "My Vision" and the second titled, "Time to Get to Work."

now, when you stop laughing, please let me know so we can continue.

Granted, it wasn't really a personal attack from Mr. Ryan -- it was more a group affair, courtesy of the National Republican Congressional Committee.  They were fishing for donations.

But here's the brand spanking new Speaker, speaking Friday:

“To me, the House of Representatives represents what’s best of America,” he said. “The boundless opportunity to do good. But let’s be frank, the House is broken. We’re not solving problems, we’re adding to them. And I am not interested in laying blame. We are not settling scores. We are wiping the slate clean...”

“We are the body closest to the people. Every two years, we face the voters and sometimes face the music. But we do not echo the people, we represent the people. We are supposed to study up and do the homework they cannot do. So when we do not follow regular order, when we rush to pass bills that a lot of us don’t understand, we are not doing our job. Only a fully functioning house can truly represent the people,” he said.

and of course, I begin to wonder about that vast ocean between "echo" and "represent."

So here we go.

To "echo" is "any repetition or imitation of something, as of the opinions, speech, or dress of another,..one who imitates another."

To "represent" is "to stand for, symbolize...to serve as the official and authorized delegate or agent for; act as a spokesman for."

So by deduction, the new Speaker is a spokesman.  According to THE SPEAKER, he speaks NOT to ECHO the people, but merely to stand as a symbol of the people; in other words, he REPRESENTS for show --  simply to portray "the people," but not necessarily in substance, to speak and act for the people.

I loved the part about "to do the homework they cannot do" --  as if we are all fifth graders pouting about common core economics...but I digress.

When going to the dictionary for the official...representative...well studied academic back up on definitions, a discovery was made:  Echo, in Greek Mythology, is "a nymph whose unrequited love for Narcissus caused her to pine away until nothing but her voice remained."   And I had to laugh...

For it nails it; it's perfectly representative of all I have left -- my voice.

And more important, the Speaker has it entirely wrong and backwards.

For the house, of all places, IS to ECHO! --- In substance, in action, in integrity!  --- It's designed to ECHO the actual voice and opinion of the people!  ----  And believe you me, it IS working if this government comes to a screeching halt!

For a little levity -- from Jonah Goldberg, albeit going all the way back to 2012:

And that’s a point worth keeping in mind. The merits of compromise depend mightily on direction. If my wife and I agree to move to Chicago, then the opportunities for compromise are limitless. When we move, where we live when we get there, even how we get there: These are all reasonable subjects for negotiation. But if I want to move to Chicago and she wants to stay in Washington, D.C., splitting the difference and moving to Cleveland would be absurd. But it would be compromise.

And again to Jonah -- speaking compromise on a day more current, as in about 4 days ago,  here (in video! watch! Comes courtesy of "The Daily Signal" produced by The Heritage Foundation).

THIS liberal, leftist, progressive president has been gifted everything he wants!  What is left to give him other than total leniency for full amnesty, a single-payer healthcare system, the unconscionable extinguishing of  [certain religion... namely Christianity] and the "free exercise thereof," all topped off with another trillion dollars added to our national debt???  [That last link, btw, is really good...and it's found on The Patriot Post, and written by Arnold Ahlert.]

Seriously.  How much more can the "representation" of the right side of this fine country give in and give up without a fight -- even if that fight looks an awful lot like a fight between the people and the "republican" representation itself!?   

Now moving on to something a little more frightening -- as if it couldn't get much worse -- let's take a look at where the president has compromised, and compromised badly, to the extent of putting the United States, Europe, all of the western world basically, directly in harms way...

...on America's Foreign Policy and the finest military in the world.

Because of Barack Obama's intent on getting all boots off the ground in the Middle East -- in order to right the wrongs of his predecessor, George W. Bush, and angling to prove his ideology and policy superior to the W -- Obama compromised the safety of the world!  

Digging his heels in deep, he was so determined to get our boys and girls out of Iraq, home from Afghanistan, keeping at an arm's length in Libya, and hands completely tied against Assad, etc.etc.etc.  the western world might as well have dug our own grave.  And it's all due to the unfettered compromise of a sort -- the de-militarization of the greatest armed forces in the world coming in conjunction with "negotiations" (i.e. total capitulation) with terrorists (in Iran), telegraphing our intent to keep boots at home, come hell or high desert, no matter what, and thereby leaving the entire region, for all intents and no good purpose, utterly defenseless. [Call me silly, but telling the enemy we will not be dragged into another war pretty much tells the enemy, go for it...she's all yours.]

It wasn't Bushie who left the region vulnerable and ripe for the taking, it was President Obama.

Compromise after compromise after compromise.

But wait.  There's more!

After years of saying what sounds a lot like  "no boots on the ground" -- guess what he's doing now -- granted, about a thousand days late and a few thousand troops short?    Boots meet Ground.  [again, call me funny, but a half-assed strategy in war leaves us short, as in we are only half way involved, half way in, half way committed, but leaving us totally screwed.]

Another good read is The Naked Communist, by W. Cleon Skousen.  There are innumerable sections to highlight, but allow me to point out how compromising (scroll a bit up on this link...if you will) on our commitments is very, very bad.   As in, "what he did not know [General MacArthur]....the Chinese had already been assured by their intelligence agents [spies] that the diplomats in Washington, London and New York [U.N.] were NOT going to allow MacArthur to retaliate with the U.S. Air Force.  MacArthur was going to be restricted to "limited" warfare."  ....MacArthur was later relieved of his command for basically committing acts of insubordination -- ergo for speaking up and violating a presidential gag order...  The book also quotes a Senator Robert A. Taft, saying "The United Nations serves a very useful purpose as a town meeting of the world....but it is an impossible weapon against forcible aggression."   An Armistice in Korea was really only achieved by accident....Stalin died...But that's really a whole 'nother story. 

Now, the last thing to read is rather long; but what can we say -- there are days when an uncompromising level of strength is not asked of you, but required!  So on that note, go to Hillsdale's Imprimis for a real treat.  Senator Tom Cotton (AR) responds to the times like a diplomat, a statesman, a learned, accomplished, and decorated war Veteran and American -- and blows any opposition out of the water with logic, law, a grasp of history and current affairs clarity, in a speech given on a day celebrating our Constitution.

.......READ IT NOW.  I will wait........

The thing is, little g is finding herself wishing on a morningstar -- and wishing a guy like this was Speaker of the House.  For a guy like this -- Senator Tom Cotton -- truly ECHOS a belief system aligned in principle, and in action, with America's foundation and Constitution, and it's uncompromising!   

What a breath of fresh air, considering the rampant suffocation of the average, conservative voice in the general (eh hem mr paul-compromise-or-bust -ryan)..... and especially.....

How in bloody hell do you double down on this?

Have you read the headlines?

Have you not spoken with any of your advisors?

Have you no shame?

Intelligence reports tell us (apparently, all at the same time) that at least six troops died looking for Bergdahl -- a soldier and quite possibly a traitor -- who walked off his post (apparently, more than once).

Your own congress denied the approval of the release of these Gitmo detainees for his exchange (apparently, more than once) dating back to 2012; but more important, were NEVER consulted on this done deal, at the costly ratio of five to one.

What do you have to say to the parents of the those who actually died?  If you had a son,  could you relate -- would any of these guys appear to matter to you?

Here's an account to lose your daily MR for -- from a few days ago on The Daily Beast.  Feeling any pangs in the pit of your stomach yet?

The thing is, Mr. President -- this "soldier" was never placed on the POW list, was he; and you knew that.  I mean, come on, you are the president after all; this kind of inside intelligence is routine and just par for the course on any given day, right?

As president -- you knew the details were sketchy, at best; and you did it anyway?

And the five detainees, now in Qatar?

Scott free; skipping through the dusty daisies with nothing left to do but sit out a year?  Really?  

Who's the traitor now?

What about our soldier in Mexico?  Or is he the exchange -- paying the ultimate sacrifice sitting in a Mexican jail for the rest of his life -- for the hundreds, no hundreds of thousands, of children being allowed to not only cross the border into the United States, but now get room and board on the tax payer dime?  Costing...what?

Next thing you know, we will come to find out an entire transit system -- probably a high speed rail fueled entirely by solar energy and windmills -- has been set up south of the border just to transport the children from every nook and cranny of Mexico and South America, in order to flood the system, create the chaos, to force feed immigration reform under duress, under the boot, under the direction of an administration ripe with corruption and deceit.

...to which Obama will respond something like, "well golly, gosh, gosh, I found out about it when you all did."  Or no -- he'll say -- "yes.  yes we did. and I make no apologies for it...every child deserves to be raised by their loving parents, and every loving parent deserves to have their child by their side...it's just the right thing to do."

Children will be flown to the Port Hueneme site from other shelters while being cleared for transfer to sponsors, said Laura Goulding, a spokeswoman for the Administration for Children and Families, a division of the Health and Human Services Department. They will receive English language instruction, arts and crafts activities, and recreation at the shelter, she said.

Since when does our Health and Human Services Department do all this?  And such a twisted turn of Department of Defense resources, no? Port Hueneme was refurbished in 2007 to house Navy reservists before heading off to Afghanistan...

Curious -- did congress approve of this re-allocation of government property?  Or was this just covered under the cover of darkness within the pages of the Affordable Care Act (just a little something something nobody bothered to read)   -- at the discretion of Kathleen Sebelius, under the direction of Obama, before making the unfortunate human sacrifice of the administration.  Oh the end justifies the means, doesn't it, Kathleen.

Let's cut to the CBS News post for a simple breakdown of what happened to it:

The Bush program, which would have placed 10 ground-based interceptors in Poland along with a radar in the Czech Republic, was replaced with a system of smaller interceptors to better deal with short- and medium-range missiles that the administration believed Iran had made more progress developing. The final stage of the replacement program was cancelled last year to place more interceptors in Alaska to deal with threats from North Korea.

While all this makes me nervous, anxious, good reason to pop up to the concessions for a hot dog, soft pretzel and beer, it also makes me wonder...just what happened to kinetic military action?  Why then, not now?  [Don't hate.  It's just a good question.]

AND don't get me wrong.  This girl doesn't want to go to war with Russia! 

What I am dreaming of is an administration who carries a big stick, bolstered with a well thought out game plan in both offense and defense; an administration who says what they mean and means what they say; an administration so formidable that by just walking into the arena makes any opponent shrivel into a ball, making almost any situation a non-starter.

But look at us; that was era gone by, long in the record books; that was then and this is now, all "nation building at home."

How's that working out for us?

Are we?  Are we really building a stronger nation , here, there, or anywhere?

Let's cut the denial.  We suck.

Look at us!   Completely and thoroughly divided by region... be it race, religion, wealth, sexuality, boy vs. girl, English vs. Spanish, progressive vs. conservative, east vs. west vs. north vs. south  -- you name it, we've got a bracket for it.  And who do we have leading the charge?  A community organizer -- make that agitator; just a guy who has no business being the leader of the free world, be it foreign or domestic.

Somebody, anybody, make it stop; stop the insidious madness.

It's a Demi-Dhimmi Dumb Day Thing

Dear America,

this girl might be going heavy today, being weighted down by something virtually intangible; the hidden conflict between its very existence and its peculiar evanescence expanding by the minute.

but just today I believe I caught a glimpse of what we might call it.

It's called demi-Dhimmi.........

and it's a form of Dhimmi much uncommon and unrecognizable and unimaginable, really, given that its origin comes from within the boundaries and statutes of a nation made by revolutionaries for religious freedom, not to mention, in a land built upon the rights of the individual.

and yet, here we are. 

and it's totally uncharted territory [or so we are led to believe, anyway].

Recently, Jon Stewart spent part of his opening monologue poking fun at this very thing, as he chained together snippets from the Fox News Channel headlining "the war against religion" -- mainly, Christianity -- complete with his sophomoric ripping and mocking narrative by the nanosecond.  [the whole thing becomes even more annoying realizing how much I LOVE this guy...and thoroughly enjoying the enigma that I am, just  now]

Back to the demi- Dhimmitude we got going on...

After this week -- after keeping a watchful eye upon Arizona --  after having already seen what happened in New Mexico -- and while keeping tabs on the assault against our religious freedom through such reprehensible legislation like Obamacare and the mainstream acceptance of conservative targeting by the IRS  -- let me tell you, America, we are not that much of a far cry from Syria.

The thing is, what actually happened in Arizona should never have happened, on a number of fronts.

Now I believe it is quite possible to create a pretty hefty batch of bad juju over turning away clientele with good money.   How can that be good?  How does that support the circulation of money and capital gains and put food on the table?  But be that as it may.   Everyone, as individuals, should have every right to decide that for themselves and their own personal welfare.   

We MUST figure out how to co-exist within the framework of "the free exercise thereof" of our religious liberties and nothing else.

Otherwise, we are no better off than the Christian community in the province of Raqqa, Syria.

Demi-Dhimmi is dumb and is a state of terrorization that has no place in America.

And Jon Stewart can joke around all he wants -- but believe you me --  look around, read the news, see the highlights, follow the threats, unveil the underlying nature of  the war against people of faith, and notice that we are there already.

Now for those of you new to me - G ---  from day one of this blog, Obamacare has been the red thread.  Things would generally come and go, but from the genesis of this conversation with myself, it has been this atrocity of public policy, this reprehensible shift in the American ideals promulgated by the left wing collective and ruthlessly carried out by this administration,  that has continuously prompted a direct response by way of this diary and day in the life of America.

This law changes more than the average American even cares to know.

This law was passed without one republican vote for a reason.

This law was predicated on getting the 15 or 20 million uninsured covered --  when in fact, when once in full operation, it jeopardizes the health, and wealth, and welfare, of the entire 316 million of us, while thoroughly mocking the freedoms and liberties of creating a true free market industry in the process.

Since he seems to be on a roll these days  -- how about the president just declare "by Executive Order" of course, that health insurance companies can simply cross state lines, like car insurance?   Dare you to do that one thing, Mr. President, and then maybe we can talk.

I know.

Fat chance.

That's the last thing he would do.

For he -- along with his liberal think tank tools that wrote the law -- has no intention of making health care in America anything but a single-payer, federally controlled, idealistically masterminded,  progressive machine that comes chock full with the presidential privilege to redistribute the wealth and destroy the economic privileges self-reliance has made famous, and ironically attracting immigrants from around the world over the last two hundred years.  

This law genetically engineers a machine born with disabilities, a cog in the wheel, pre-existing conditions -- complete with long-term, unfunded liabilities, to boot.

This law is a free market capitalism shakedown; that's all it is.

The thing is -- we now know what's in it.  [And how.]    And those who don't know, don't care.  And therein lies the rub.

If I were Speaker, I would put a stop to this nonsense today...and clearly, somebody needs to shake me now for surely I am dreaming.

Yeah right....If only I could go back to sleep.

It's All About What is Essential Now Thing

upon morning light, the flag is still flying...

anyone who watched the final hours of the Cruz filibuster, would be able to connect the stars and stripes on that opening line.

It's going to be okay, folks.

This fight is over government spending on a spending bill.  If not now, when?

The Senate couldn't even muster the decency to take away their own cushy government health care insurance package -- one that is also 75% subsidized by the American taxpayer --  and fall into the Obamacare exchanges like everybody else.

The Senate couldn't even muster the courage to take away the medical device tax -- a debilitating tax intended to help pay for Obamacare that an overwhelming majority, in both Houses and the general public, dislike -- in a last ditch effort to at least appear like a body politic that is able to compromise with the other side.

Oh, and the president is going to come out to speak to us.    Goodie goodie, let the spin-doctor begin.

Let me guess --  he'll be standing there in the Rose Garden, with a backdrop of security guards and museum tour guides who just lost their mission in life and have no where else to go today, and he's going to lash out against that "one faction" of unruly republicans again...

Let's reboot what he said just yesterday, with thanks to NewsMax:

"...but one faction of one party in one house of Congress in one branch of government doesn't get to shut down the entire government just to fight the results of an election."

This is about another entitlement package that is already disproving every promise the president ever made about it; one that also jeopardizes every facet of our once stellar American health care system.   This is about protecting the American people.

This obscene law --  this requirement of the federal government mandating the American people to buy something -- never had a mandate of the people.

One of Cruz's favorite filibuster phrases included this one:

"Good enough for thee, but not for me."

Do as I say, not as I do...right?

Bottom line, I believe this push back from the House Republicans is a good one.  For the first time in months, maybe years, they are standing on principle no matter what comes, no matter what Krauthammer says.

So why would you stake everything on something where Americans are hugely against you rather than get something easy on the C.R. and get the hard stuff, the spending cuts, the pipeline, stripping -- delaying Obamacare a year on the debt ceiling, where America is behind you?

This is a question of simple application of intelligence, it's not about a commitment to principle or a belief in conservative ideas

Or, why not take advantage of both occasions?  The Continuing Resolution and the Debt Ceiling are equally fit for fighting, and making a course correction through eliminating programs we cannot afford is merely something little g would consider a good start.

Let's use both situations to fight against the spending sprees of this administration.  Remember, beginning with a stimulus package to nowhere and continuing with an entitlement program to lala-land, and not stopping for anything in between and taking existing entitlement conditions to extremes (i.e. food stamps), this nation runs on trillion dollar deficits!

Let's keep it going non-stop; pray without ceasing; and fight the good fight until the bitter end, if that's where things end up.  Let's beat them at their own game:  pick a target, freeze it, personalize it, polarize it.

You're right, dirty Harry.   This is about a fight to a return to sanity -- on behalf of individual freedom everywhere and making way for the limited, smaller government that remains, as this nation was founded.   And for back up, go here... and thank you Heritage Foundation.

Congress needs to keep our government open, needs to pay our bills on time, and never, ever threaten the full faith and credit of the United States of America...

Unfortunately, right now, House Republicans continue to tie funding of the government to ideological demands like limiting a woman's access to contraception or delaying the Affordable Care Act, all to save face after making some impossible promises to the extreme right wing of their party.

Oh, like the ideological demands that include not paying for somebody's abortion?  You referring to that one?

With regard to operations that will continue: If you’re on Social Security, you will keep receiving your checks," said Obama. "If you’re on Medicare, your doctor will still see you. Everyone’s mail will still be delivered. And government operations related to national security or public safety will go on. Our troops will continue to serve with skill, honor, and courage. Air traffic controllers, prison guards, those who are with border control--our Border Patrol will remain on their posts, but their paychecks will be delayed until the government reopens.   [Read more at CNSnews]

So Yosemite and the Statue of Liberty might have to close for a wee bit in order to settle this make or break moment in American history.   And the problem is?

Perhaps, every day for the next couple of weeks, the GOP should parade around the failures of Obamacare, large and small, in front of the American people -- much like Mark Levin did all during his radio show yesterday; maybe that reality might seep into the cracks of the American Senate. 

To be sure, the mainstream media hasn't an interest in doing so.   Who would have thought -- the MSM Trojans, the condom of corruption and fundamental transformation, protecting this president and this administration from a full Monty failure upon every progressive push..   Where is the shame?

In America, it is not winner takes all, and taking full advantage of it all along the way,  once you gain power in the Oval Office.   And once again, shame on John McCain for giving this notion any credibility whatsoever!

It's not like all compromise comes to a screeching halt and ceases to exist; two sides of the aisle remain no matter how lop-sided it may seem.   Take, for example, the libertarians; they have never had the majority.  But do they sit back and throw in the towel?  Tell that to the Ron Paul entourage. 

At this moment, only the essential government departments are being paid.  Ergo, this is a chance to look at what is truly  ESSENTIAL, for Pete's sake.

Is it really all that extreme to demand our government be fiscally responsible?

And another thing!  It's certainly not about the opposing ideologies between the liberals and conservatives.  Hardly.  This is about the rise of a serial rapist that comes in progressive clothing, left and right, what difference does it fukeen make?

And so what?  I'm the crazy one?  I'm the extremist?  The silly little tea party girl who loves party dresses and the color pink?   Seriously?

This is about Old school meeting up with New Radicals, with thanks to the teachings of Saul Alinsky...

Ridicule.

Pick a target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.

Bombard the opposition.

Marginalize tradition.

Divide and conquer...absolutely everything.

Use that Middle Class to the progressive advantage...over and over again.

It's de Dia Bonita Thing

clearly, our president lives in a world quite different than the rest of us -- entertaining the illusion of international diplomacy and governance of OTHER countries, even as he acts above the law here at home, becoming more and more dependent upon shrouds of secrecy no matter what happens, no matter where.  

We know what you said last week -- as well as, the week before -- as well as six months before.  Better yet, word travels, and fast, Mr. President; it travels faster than the speed at Talladega (how about that finish? almost worth every minute of that deliriously long rain delay, which naturally created the perfect conditions for an afternoon siesta, but i digress).

His opening line:

"Hola!  Buenos dias!  It is wonderful to be back in México, lindo y querido." 

Nice touch added at the end there...my best translation arrives at "lovely and dear."   And that would be the first thing I think of when I think of Mexico, too.  But of course, this was only the beginning.

Well, for every reason Mexico sucks, it's America's fault.

It's time for real reform.
