It's an Open Castration of Glenn Beck Thing

Dear America,

let's start with a big bang from Beck, shall we?

Oh, and just before serving up this sweet and tangy self-righteous sentiment  -- Desperado made a special request for all of us true believers: to join Beck and his family in a mission for Monday... fasting for Cruz.  

Can I get a Hallelujah?! Just look at how the Lord works!  If we hadn't all watched it with our own two eyes....Taking the boy out of New York City...divining a road that leads to Dallas...and now look at this dude, digging deep, so deep he might have struck some oil, getting to the very core of it, and talkin' straight up (of course, without the whiskey chaser).   Praise the Lord, for judgement day came a whole lot  sooner than expected. and if you said all that sounding like your very own poor rendition of Francis Underwood the better for all of us; we're in this together, and a little whup-ass while undergoing a harmless character assassination is just one more way we can all contribute.  can I get an amen?

makes me wonder if some time over the last 48 hours my soul get-got herself possessed, or something. (wrong again)

But first things first, even if it comes second --

This girl happens to LOVE Jesus.  Little g gives thanks to the big guy, the BIG G, every single day -- on my knees usually --  and always in prayerful thanksgiving. 

And here's another truth be told -- this girl happens to like Beck vewy vewy much...that silly rascal.

So it's crazy with what comes next...

Did he really pull the old Christian card on the entire flock?   "If we lose America" -- Beck believes it is because CHRISTIANS are "not living and voting their principles."    Are you sure you're not a darn-tootin' Catholic cowboy now... with you rustling up all that guilt and what not...?

SO -- if we can just nit pick for a sec --
are you simply acknowledging that all Christians should see the same thing in Cruz that you see? and to that end, vote accordingly....as a block....because Ted, in all your fine judgement, is the good Christian in the bunch, the one with principles?  IS that correct?

You believe that the rest may be Christian, but, perchance, not the most principled of Christians -- and therefore, a vote to anyone else but Ted would prove to be an allegiance of some kind of sacrilegious fate -- a blasphemy of something dreadful -- a day of reckoning in lock step with Revelations?

For the sake of argument, let's agree to disagree and then disagree some more...and let's begin by leaving The Donald out of it; but what of the rest?  Let's go to the guys who have joined Ted in self-promoting a religious backbone in the campaign, however, taking a far more humble approach.
 
Is TED really better, more principled, than John Kasich...or Marco Rubio...or Dr. Ben Carson  -- who, as you must know by now -- experienced a personal turning point to the way of the Lord that changed him forever, and happens to read and know the Bible with a photographic memory and can recite a verse of worth on a moments notice and leads a campaign with the motto -- HEAL INSPIRE REVIVE?  And  -- come to think of it, for the record, Ben's tax plan in simple terms goes something like this: "Follow the Biblical example and make it flat and make sure everyone has skin in the game.  Everybody pays something." But all that is neither here nor there really.   It's just this indignation pouring out from every pore...this highfalutin impulse to lambaste the very people who have supported you for all of your days, from CNN to Fox to The Blaze.    We are your people, Beck, and you just struck us with an arrow, splitting our hearts in two.

For this is news to me, Beck -- this whole thing about casting the entire lot of Christians as not only having in common a belief system, joined at the rib in being followers of Christ, indeed, but with that peace that passes all understanding, we should somehow, by some miracle of Lourdes, happen to all want the same thing, the same candidate -- and moreover, take your word for it, as if by decree or homily?

Oh the irony.  You know you are beginning to sound a lot like Pope Francis telling Trump how good Christians are to behave, and how building bridges between Mexico is better than a wall...just sayin' partner.

Of course, if we are to be drifters along those lines, believing in the premise that WE are ALL God's children, that we are all citizens under one heaven -- then why any border -- why any red lines in-between us, why any separation of church and state, country or language, why any separation between us at all -- not even oceans should come between us.  More to the point, this might be the perfect principled hour to call for Pope Francis to tear down his wall at the Vatican, for Saint Peter's sake.  How about we start there, while reciting the Hail Mary and asking for forgiveness as we go along brick by brick...But I .....digress.

And I suppose, Beck, heading this exhibition out west, setting sites on the LEFT coast and probably going straight to hell in the here-and-after,  but if we are to be rest assured upon your logic -- are you gonna tell me now that all African-Americans should vote the same way, think the same way, want the same things, too?    If little g were a betting girl, my six pence would be on Dr. Carson who just might take issue with this all or nothing, downright robbery, of independent thought!  For surely, there are times when common sense can only come when it decidedly, forthrightly,  goes against the grain, and with great courage -- in spite of the amber waves of resistance circling the wagons, and in this day and age, coming complete with hashtag slogans and a facebook page.

It's just wrong; we get annoyed with the Left for this very thing!  Breaking people down by demographics, hurling propaganda at them with break-neck speed, and then expecting a return on the investment at the polls.   We the people get used and spit back out with no apologies.

Oh my, this girl is 'a rambling on and on...

It's just disturbing, this thing with Beck and Cruz, aligned to make their mark in history from probably the right place, with good intentions, and clearly a solid, godly foundation for all the right reasons --- but somehow this platform suddenly, and feeling somewhat shameful to admit, feels dirty. [and speaking of dirty...]

And mind you, this is a response coming from a believer -- a true believer in all of the above....God being first and foremost, but an honorable mention surely goes to Cruz and Beck!

It's crazy; it's like, what is happening to me?  Or is the better question, what happened to Beck?

Should I stop and question this thing called my faith if my attractions go another way, opposite Cruz?
Is Beck's high and mighty passing of judgement against the entire nation of Christians of sound mind, or is he the wacko-bird about to start his third or fourth career selling snake oil at the county fair?

And yet...

If I dare keep going -- about that "if the country is lost" bit...

It must be said, that a fair portion of this good, godly country -- the Judeo-Christian roots -- have already been torn asunder!  Much to my regret to disagree with Beck's opinion -- the truth is, the progressives of yesteryear and all the way through today ARE to BLAME for America's fall from grace, from God, from a foundation that painstakingly laid the groundwork to grow the most prosperous, faithful, hard-working, educated, enterprising, independent people for all time.

It is done and it is not good.

Right now - - this country IS lost; it's no longer a question as to If or When.

There is neither a North or Morning Star to be seen.

We  are in the wilderness, fasting, and, coincidentally, well timed for being right in the middle of Lent.

We are lost.
We know we are lost.
And we are begging for directions from the likes of all kinds of passersby, searching desperately for someone to lead us out of the valley, over the mountain, to find happiness and restore us.

And it's a funny thing, but just yesterday, Sunday, I received word from God, himself:  there is not one man (or one woman) on the planet who can fix what is broken -- you know, as president -- without the good favor of each and every single man and woman and child doing their fair share, and duty, to God and to country. [Including congress!]

Our downfall IS believing government can replace God, can replace good citizenship, can make up for our teeny tiny transgressions here and there.  Our downfall is putting our faith into mankind and dismissing the essential elements of living soundly, morally, rightly under God and believing in something greater than ourselves.  Our downfall is letting go of the the word of God in our every day.

Beck. Beck. Beck Beck Beck....This thing called "not living or voting" by principle isn't about to happen; it's been a century in the making.  Nice try, though; nothing like a little religious tyranny roasted over an open fire.

Perhaps, we are looking at this the wrong way.  Maybe we need a change in perspective -- maybe if we actually climb the mountain and look down from above....

Perhaps,  a more reasonable explanation is simply recognizing that we the people haven't really changed; government, itself, is to blame, having grown so big, so thoroughly corrupted, to the point of no return.

[And this alone should immediately negate the worthiness of any candidate who has been on the inside, no matter if only a couple years or three decades; thereby, after taking account of what's to the left and who's to the right, swing your partner and doesy doe,  only two candidates remain out of the whole kit and caboodle to choose from -- Trump and Carson.  Boom.  Perhaps we should pony express a decision for P and VP right here and now.]

And finally, if for no other reason than ending on a high note --

...perhaps a better way to look at our culture, our faithful roots and the rewards that come with lock, stock and barrel begins and ends and begins again with realizing the scope and breadth of our charitable giving.  This is where we come alive as a people who truly live by our faith and hope and good will.   And it is quite puzzling, really, because I'm pretty sure Beck is well aware of these things, and a wee bit of restraint before his reckless damnation questioning every Christians values and principles would have suited him in the moment just fine.

And we need to look no further then this month's Imprimis from Hillsdale College.


Karl Zinsmeister, focuses on the subject of  Charitable Giving and the Fabric of America, and begins getting right to an astounding stat:

Private philanthropy is crucial in making America the unusual country that it is. Let’s start with some numbers. Our nonprofit sector now comprises eleven percent of the total United States workforce. It will contribute around six percent of gross domestic product this year. To put this in perspective, the charitable sector passed the national defense sector in size in 1993, and it continues to grow.

Now my wish is for you to read the entire piece, for the stories of bits and pieces of history speak volumes of not only our hearts and generosity, but of the way America truly works.  We work hard.  We make money.  And we give much of ourselves and our wealth away.

Here's some more:

Still, partly because so much of private charity takes place out of the public eye—on the local level, private, often anonymous—many grossly underestimate its power and insist that major concerns can only be addressed through government action. They seem to have three major criticisms of private philanthropy: one, it’s a drop in the bucket; two, it’s amateurish, chaotic, and lacks expert coordination; and three, private donors act from impure motives.

Drop in the bucket? The Gates Foundation alone distributes more overseas assistance than the entire Italian government. Over its first two decades, its overseas vaccine program is projected to save the lives of almost eight million children. And the Gates Foundation represents only a tiny sliver of American philanthropy directed overseas. Members of American churches and synagogues send four-and-a-half times as much to foreigners in need each year as Gates does, and total private American philanthropic aid sent overseas substantially exceeds the foreign aid budget of the U.S. government. Did you get that?

Members of American churches and synagogues send four and a half times as much to foreigners in need each year as Gates!

Yes.  I am repeating myself.  And with good reason!  This is good stuff!

Karl also informs us that we actually live in a polyarchy society -- a society that enjoys many independent sources of power -- and of course,  it's the opposite of monarchy.   Adding to the nature of who we are, Karl notes:

But philanthropy in the United States is not just a story—or even primarily a story—about wealthy people or big foundations. Only 14 percent of charitable giving in our country comes from foundations, and only five percent from corporations. The rest comes from individuals, and the bulk of it comes from small givers at an average rate of about $2,500 per household per year.

This IS who we are.

We are, generally speaking, enterprising church goers, tithers, givers, healers,  And while we're at it, let's stop the billionaire bashing, too.

And I believe, we, Americans, Christian or not, like to do the right thing, too.

And it just makes me ill to bicker over whose Christian heart is bigger, purer, faster, better -- but more than that, this coercing, manipulative, campaign strategy to coalesce behind Ted Cruz is a shame.  A real shame.   It's an unbridled, un-principled tack that hits Christians, pitting Christians against Christians!  We might as well send in the clowns and the lions all at the same time.

It's What Happens Under a Forced Marriage Thing

Dear America,

"We want to congratulate the Israeli people for the democratic process for the election that they just engaged in with all the parties that engaged in that election. As you know now, the hard work of coalition building begins. Sometimes that takes a couple of weeks. And we're going to give space to the formation of that coalition government and we're not going to weigh in one way or another except to say that the United States and Israel have a historic and close relationship and that will continue going forward," 

so lamented the White House aide, David Simas, courtesy of CNN through The Weekly Standard.

"we're not going to weigh in one way or another..." he said.

One thing's for sure -- we're definitely not going to congratulate one of our closest allies, Bibi Netanyahu, for his resounding re-election.

The second thing is highly suspect...

The American based One Voice Movement, now under fire for spending taxpayer funds for playing political gamesmanship in Israel, intent upon undermining Bibi's Likud group, is linked to the Obama administration; One Voice Movement -- as a recipient of almost $350,000 in recent grants from the Obama administration’s State Department – had violated its tax-exempt status when it began backing the virulently anti-Netanyahu Victory 15 campaign in Israel earlier that month.

Having worked under the radar since 2013, questions are finally beginning to surface from inside Washington.  Senator Ted Cruz --  alongside Rep. Lee Zeldin -- penned a letter (January 29) to the State Department inquiring about the legality of the 501(c)3's political activity, was recently interviewed @ FoxNews.com and made this stunning observation (or is it a question?):

What does it say about the President of the United States when he’s more concerned about undermining and attacking the prime minister of Israel than he is standing up to the mortal threat a nuclear Iran poses?


exactly.

This president was against Israel before he was for it -- it was a forced marriage; but with the actions of the One Voice Movement, he almost had this ball and chain gone for good.  Happy endings here we come again...

BUT ...What does it say?

What it says is that our current administration plays lip-service with our "close" diplomatic relations with Israel.  

Our "close relationship" -- David Simas --  couldn't be any further apart.

Our "close relationship" began to show strain from the moment this president  ordered Israel to accept Palestinian demands in a peace deal as he pledged American support for human rights in the Middle East...

Putting it mildly, our "close relationship" has been nothing short of  uncomfortable -- from leaving Bibi all alone at the dinner table (circa 2010)  ...to the downright snubbing the Prime Minister's visit to Congress just two weeks ago -- when pleading on behalf of the safety of Israel just as the United States  is in the midst of encouraging a more closer, kinder, diplomatic relationship with terrorists -- The Islamic Republic of Iran.   What?

.....as we collectively ask ourselves "what does it say?"  makes a sudden comeback.

The Obama Administration has been undermining and straining this relationship from day one to day 2251...(that's just ball-parking btw).

It's as if the "close relationship" is merely staying together on behalf of the kids, and we all know how awkward that can be for the obligatory reunions, holidays, and birthdays -- let alone the every day ...from family dinner to dealing with conflicting ideas of child rearing.

Needless to say, it's going to get uglier.  No use even hiding the animosity anymore, right New York Times?

So here we are -- having done a fairly bang up job self-destructing what was once formidable and sound..... built upon common ideals and dreams for the future in front of the entire world -- ground zero requires diplomatic relations to begin again, only same as it ever was.

[The reality is, Obama and Bibi never had a chance....that being the one-sided, ideological and callused opinion of One Barack Hussein Obama.]

I'm pretty sure having another baby is out of the question.

"Tickets to the event started $10,000 per person, including dinner and a photo op. Those donating $32,400 per couple got listed as “sponsors” and could take part in a VIP reception. Those donating $64,800 per couple were listed as “hosts” and could take part in a “VIP clutch."  -- ...get all the scoop @Variety, here]

i'm not seeing it  (i mean, he was nominated for the peace prize just two weeks in -- seriously?); as such, i had to highlight this load of caca in pink just to stomach the leaps and turns of good faith.

but more than that, a president getting a trophy for doing what he is supposed to do?

for standing up for something just because it's the right thing to do?

getting a trophy for participating on the right side of life and liberty?

 he is the president for pete's sake...don't all  American presidents do this?

and it's going to be THAT kind of day.  

And why so jaded G so early on the day, pray tell?

For he's compassionate to a point; he's high and mighty and noble and pleased only when he gets his way; he jumps to conclusions only when said conclusions align with that certain something that is also  fully complaint with his agenda; for he's transparent ...as he promised....when he wants to be, how he wants to be, and when he wants to be, and only when it's in his favor.

here's some presidential party favors fresh from the Horn's backyard...and i quote Ted Johnson quoting Him :

Obama warned of “a self-fulfilling prophesy” during a midterm election year where “people who have the most at stake in a government that works opt out of the system; those who don’t believe government can do anything are empowered; gridlock reigns, and we got this downward spiral of even more cynicism and more dysfunction. And we have to break out of that cycle and that’s what this election all about,” Obama said, in remarks that lasted about 15 minutes.

He added that his travels to other countries have led him not to “buy this notion purported here that that somehow America is on a downward trajectory. By every indicator we are better positioned than any country on earth to succeed in this knowledge economy in the 21st century. But what is absolutely true is that if we don’t make good choices we could decline, and we’re not going to make good choices unless we break out of this cycle in which dysfunction breeds cynicism, and we have to break out of it. And that happens during midterms. That does not happen during presidential elections.

which is funny, isn't it?

FOR -- after SIX years as president and adding a couple more if you go ahead and include his "presence" in the Senate  -- HE IS WASHINGTON.  He is to blame for leading this nation during this era of  "dysfunction."

Who is he trying to kid?

Oh that's right; he's talking to his marry band of hollywood left wing loons.

Only with this audience could he get away with talking in circles and come off reasonably coherent, as everyone gives way to a respectable round of ovation...

The real thing is, Washington under THIS administration is functioning just fine. too fine, in fact.

Ted Cruz has the idea... see his report on just how much "the challenges out there remain daunting and we have a Washington that’s not working”  (according to Obama)  (yeah, right, according to T and G).

For Washington is functioning via the Executive Branch, the Department of Justice, the Department of Land Management, the IRS, the Fed...shall I keep going?  just fine and without any help from congress.

It's obvious that the far left has decided there are no longer constraints on what it can do to anyone who disagrees with it. How did this happen? Who let the dogs out?

The answer is not university presidents. The answer is that the Obama administration let the dogs out.

The trigger event was an agreement signed last May between the federal government and the University of Montana to resolve a Title IX dispute over a sexual-assault case...

Everywhere we turn --  the conservative half of the country is being attacked, mocked,victimized, vilified,  pummeled into the ground, SUED [you will really like that link too]-- and basically deemed, labeled, and shipped on a slow boat  to China  totally insignificant.  Worthless,   Dirt.  Lower than dirt.

[G note:  I would never attempt to shut down the liberal mindset and go on a rampage delivering high level personal attacks just because I don't agree with it.  Never.  How the Left could be so intimidated and affected by alternative ways to govern, or rather, not to govern, these fine United States is beyond my realm of understanding.  Speaking of Civil Rights -- we all have a voice.]

All the while, THIS administration is functioning on all cylinders, with a mainstream media hypnotically going through the motions, virtually fallen all asleep from the hum of the deafening white noise, chock-full with the corruption of power and the lure of perpetuating ideological lies.  With a media empowered from within and without, fully supportive of the little engine that could, as if the steaming locomotive on high speed rail is unseen; it chooses propaganda over the truth; it sells a Utopian pipe dream over the fundamental, self-reliant, rugged individualism this nation was originally intended and pre-destined by the real conductor, Divine Providence, of course.

There is no cause for alarm; for the plan is not only in motion  and Organizing for America, but it's working.

There is no need to sound the red alert, Mr. President, so please make the little Mrs. happy and stop campaigning  -- unless, of course, you happen to be one of the few, the proud, the 47%, who are NOT  aligned with THIS.  For then, and only then,  duh, let the alarms blare.   For this wily, progressive, oppressive, controlling, regulating, enterprising snuffing, regime currently reigning as if America were a kingdom has got to go somewhere where the sun don't shine.  This regime has not brought peace, unity, or anything of the sort; worshiping at the alter of "the ends justify the means," this administration has done nothing more than divide us, one by one, piece by piece.   But of course maybe it's just me.

It's a Box of Chocolate Covered Glitches Thing

Dear America,

I've been on life support, if only in my own mind.

If not for the timely receipt of a care package, now nearly twelve hours ago, who knows what would have happened to me.  It was a big fat box of See's Bordeaux candies!  Within a minute under our roof, two were immediately engulfed, never to see the light of day again --  and just before dinner, no less.  What a twilight delight.

If all goes well, my girl and I will be stuffing our faces with each and every velvety, butterscotchy, chocolate jimmie encrusted morsel for the next twelve hours, if it even lasts that long.  So happy.  So thankful.   So love you MDC.

"BREAKING: NBC News has learned the WH intends to delay the deadline requiring every American to buy health insurance by as much as 6 weeks"

So now, let's review -- it was precisely this "INDIVIDUAL MANDATE"  (the very thing that shores up the costs of the atrocity that is Obamacare)  deemed non-negotiable by the president just a couple weeks ago, and now he wants it delayed?

Are you kidding me?  Seriously?  Really?   I mean, are you kidding me?

After vilifying the opposition for demonstrating how Obamacare will ruin the economy and thereby selectively using it as leverage before the government shutdown -- the White House unilaterally decides the fate of it's main legislative mandate, however short lived that it is.  Oh, and making such revisions on the fly outside of the law, adding to the list of at least nineteen or twenty by now.


This news, coming on the eve of planned congressional hearings, intent on grilling the contractors responsible for the healthcare.gov website; surely, bureaucratic bombshells are dropping as we speak.

One billion dollars later, while allowing seedy democrats like this one get away with saying the most vile things against the rebels with a good cause, the tea partiers.

[Wow.  One billion dollars and we haven't even paid for band-aides yet.]

How about we just send everyone a fifty-pound box of See's candy and call it a day; we can just stuff ourselves silly and die, right Grayson?

Let's go to the second page of  Rules for Radicals, for further, deeper, richer, darker, mind blowing insight:

Was not Ted Cruz the real man, brave enough to stand up to an establishment bigger than life itself?

We make light of the Rahm Emmanuel rationale, of never letting a crisis go to waste; when in fact, it is the crisis where the progressive lives and even revels in;  making achieving chaos -- virtuous, masterminding crisis -- a many splendored thing, organizing the reform and fix when nothing was really broken in the first place.  In chaos, they win. In chaos, the organization remains active and sustained.

About midstream within what's become the infamous progressive bible, Alinsky explains in simple terms the innards of an organization:

"The organization is born out of the issues and the issues are born out of the organization.  They go together, they are concomitants essential to each other...

Organizations must be based on many issues.  Organizations need action as an individual needs oxygen.  the cessation of action brings death to the organization through factionalism and inaction, through dialogues and conferences that are actually a form of rigor mortis rather than life.   It is impossible to maintain constant action on a single issue.   A single issue is a fatal strait jacket that will stifle the life of an organization.    Furthermore, a single issue drastically limits your appeal, where multiple issues would draw in the many potential members essential to the building of a broad, mass-based organization."

Why do you think in the midst of the Obamacare debacle, in the unceasing onslaught of European leaders coming totally unglued by the NSA spying, in the wake of nearly the entire Middle East simultaneously waking up to a level of distrust of the United States unlike any other time in history, this president is now seeking immigration reform...

They argue (mostly privately) that Obama has shredded U.S. influence by dumping President Hosni Mubarak in Egypt, backing the Muslim Brotherhood’s Mohamed Morsi, opposing the coup that toppled Morsi, vacillating in its Syria policy, and now embarking on negotiations with Iran — all without consulting close Arab allies."

This... from the administration who came  in with an apology tour and every good  intention  to "fix" relations after number 43. 

Perhaps the fix is in...and it's Bushie's fault, too.

But number 44 isn't all that worried.

More issues the better; it's simply mixing the nuts with the creams.

But scrolling back to the sweet tweet that started it all, The Daily Caller reminds us of a stark truth:

"This would be a substantial reversal for the administration, which has fought all attempts by congressional Republicans to spare Americans from the mandate requiring all citizens to purchase health insurance or face a stiff penalty. Earlier this month, Obama allowed a partial government shutdown to go forward rather than compromise with Republicans on the penalty."

There is a method to this madness, the reality of which sends us truth seekers and soul searchers into a diabetic seizure with or without sugar added, never mind a box of Bordeaux.

The design of America's massive failure all the way around is here, like a box of chocolate covered glitches, and lies, and deceit, set up to transform not only our minds, our soul, but fundamentally every living, breathing thing worthy of life itself.   And it could  kill us.

All 300 million of us are on life support, whether you choose to see it that way, or not.

It's If Government Lives to See Another Day Under the Confines of Obamacare Thing

Dear America,

Oh, this diary; it's always hard taking the first few steps on the keyboard; the mind is a muddled mash pit -- having been thoroughly marinated in thoughts and thesis anywhere from a day to nearly a week.  Just how does one lowly human being bring it into proper form, determined to make it a fine tuned delicacy of consensus worthy of your time? 

...especially after the week it's been, right?

It's utterly grotesque, the tricks of political trade and treason against the bounty that is America.

Keeping pace with the truth and everything that remains outside the truth, seems to be the theme on the day.  [And if we're being honest here, I'm really not sure if I can stick with this --  but will give it a  shot ...preferably with a Jack Daniel's chaser.]  

At times like these, deciphering what is true and not true takes everything we've got.  Which begs the immediate, exasperated response under our breath: 'it just shouldn't be this hard' ...this thing called congress.

Here's a little something something to wet your whistle.  (It's nothing fancy, but breaks down simple ideas into bite-size nuggets, leaving the option open to delve deeper on your own time.)

Sticking to a limited, free market loving, self-reliant respecting body politic -- one that truly upholds the principles and values set forth over two hundred years ago, one that remains diligent and mindful of living within our means, one that applauds the governing aspects in keeping with our inherent checks and balances of power, and to that end, fully respecting the individual ideas that come forth -- shouldn't be this hard.

What began as a simple family recipe of five, quality, worthy ingredients has been adulterated by a gastronomic attack of all five senses -- placing quantity over quality, elevating the new hybrid chemically-enriched over what is just good food, replacing the long, evening meal shared with family around the table with a quick-serve out of a box or microwave, up against a schedule that leaves little time for real conversation.

For Ted Cruz, it became a situation that demanded we sit down and talk about it...even if that means standing for 21 hours straight, including an epic bed time read of Green Eggs and Ham.

For Harry Reid, it was all a pathetic sideshow, a big waste of time...as he clearly made known in his best mealy mouthed, thirty years of bureaucratic mediocrity, well timed verbal assault upon a fellow statesman, just oozing with arrogance and condescension.

Again, contemplating just five little words:  it shouldn't be this hard. 
And throwing in five more for good measure:  how did we get here? 

It's like a bad case of acid-reflux.  As if we didn't know eating a half rack of baby backs swimming in sauce, cheesy-creamy scalloped potatoes made from scratch, coleslaw of cabbage and kale! thoroughly juiced in a sweet and spicy horseradish dressing, followed with a heaping serving of sticky toffee pudding (make that two)  --  wasn't going to come back to haunt us...seriously?

Are you kidding me?
Are you kidding me?

We set ourselves up for this; none of this should be any surprise at all.  For it all began, way back when, at a time when we were simply five days away from fundamental transformation.  And again.

Just what did you think FUNDAMENTAL TRANSFORMATION was going to look like? Feel like?  Taste like?

As Cruz duly noted in his statement lasting nearly an entire day, "the Senate is no longer a deliberative body."  Summing things up for you --  the right to speak and to amend legislation upon each deliberate whim, fully representative of one's own constituency,  has been thoroughly violated from within, in an effort to control debate. 

Then, in proper turn, he went on to explain the points of opposition.  And there were many.  But by this time, it's like 5 am, pacific coast time, having been up since three; excuse me if I spare you on every detail, for it's a wee bit of a blur.  All I really know is that I didn't want to miss being a witness to history, and I loved every minute of it. 

But funny thing, as the first one -- repealing the medical device tax -- just so happened to be an issue not of contention whatsoever (at least, in theory).   An overwhelming majority of both sides of the aisle thoroughly disapprove of it -- cue yahoo!  And rightly so!  It kills innovation and the free market at every possible chance.   But let it be known, it is the Democratic Senate who was for it, before they were against it (after the truth came out),  before they were for it again.   So who's playing to the sideshow now?


Um, telling the truth shouldn't be this hard...

Then there is this -- under the makeshift heading of Alinsky's Rules of Order: "a society devoid of compromise is totalitarian"..........

Sure, we may not all agree on things; but to say we're done talking, that negotiating any further is completely off the table, that the bill is dead upon arrival, while resorting to name calling, and throwing food if they could, is that their dignified and final answer?

Oh, and I get it...
The Senate passes the Cloture test, nearly unanimously voting to end debate 79 -19, defunding Obamacare for a split second, thereby giving congressional cover for those who may need it come re-election; but then, in an instant, like a package of freeze dried mashed potatoes, immediately removes the defunding of ObamaCare... and sends the whole mess back to the house for a re-do.  Just like Cruz called it.

"Today, far too many Republicans joined Harry Reid in giving the Democrats the ability to fund Obamacare. When the bill comes back to the Senate, when the House yet again stands for principle and fights for the American people, I very much hope that Senate Republicans will rise to the challenge. We are stronger when we are united, and we can defeat Obamacare only if Senate Republicans come together, stand with House Republicans, and champion the millions of Americans being harmed by this disastrous healthcare law."

The Senate is where the sideshow lives and breathes -- it acts much like a Kitchen-Aid stand alone mixer, massive enough to whip up a lively 300 million; but so unfortunate the color, currently only coming in baby puke.

So the saga continues, with no resolution in sight.

At this present moment,  Boehner, and the people's House, has already sent it back to the Senate -- with corrections, of course.  Here's the press release.

In a nutshell,  coming out of the AP, with the headline, "Who'll blink?..."  The Associated Press confirmed congress is now closed, "after a post-midnight vote in the GOP-run House to delay by a year key parts of the new health care law and repeal a tax on medical devices, in exchange for avoiding a shutdown."

Now, there are as many ways to look at this tactic as there are pundits.

Sure, why not just let ObamaCare fall under it's own weight and let the cake tiers climb to the moon and back until it crumbles on it's own...why delay the inevitable...why not just sit this one out and watch the catastrophe in the making...let the democrats bake their own demolition cake and eat it too.   We all know it tastes like alfalfa.    There is that.  (And Rush, along with many, many others deem this to be the way to go.  And count me in.)

But then again,
and strangely enough -- as wonders never cease and Wondra never fails me --
I kinda like where Boehner is going with this:

“If the Senate stalls until Monday afternoon instead of working today, it would be an act of breathtaking arrogance by the Senate Democratic leadership.  They will be deliberately bringing the nation to the brink of a government shutdown for the sake of raising taxes on seniors’ pacemakers and children’s hearing aids and plowing ahead with the train wreck that is the president’s health care law.  The American people will not stand for it."

At this moment in time, the House has, at the very least, temporarily funded the government -- which is slated to come to a complete stop come midnight, September 30th.  Consider the "delay" of the health care mandate for individuals just part and parcel of all the delays unilaterally imposed by this president -- unconstitutionally, I might add.    The House has merely thrown a little rubber scraper of their own into the mix to slow things down, scrape the sides, see how things are blending -- because reality reveals trouble at every pulsating turn. 

Love that link to Hot Air, above;  Ed Morrissey does a bang up job reporting on the administration run amok and ends posing a really good question:

"Why is Obama

bailing out employers and insurers

with delays

on mandates,

but not consumers?"

So the president can negotiate with the big guys, and even with terrorists, and even breaking the Code of Honor and Silence of thirty four years with Iran -- but not with the American people?

"A path to a meaningful agreement

will be difficult,"

Obama told reporters

at the White House

after the call.

"But I believe we've got

 a responsibility to pursue

diplomacy

and that we have a unique

opportunity

to make progress

with the new leadership

in Iran."

The president feels a strong responsibility to pursue diplomacy with crazy people, who HATE westerners, and seem hell bent on nuking our only real friend and ally in the region, Israel, but won't negotiate with the GOP for a meaningful agreement between opposing sides of congress over health care?  And Oh -- how sweet -- Obama and Rouhani exchanged "pleasantries."

"It is particularly unfortunate that President Obama would recognize the Iranian people's right to nuclear energy but not stand up for their right to freedom, human rights, or democracy."  This being the response from Eric Cantor, Republican House Majority Leader, simply exchanging what everybody else is thinking...But I digress.

Let's review:  

NOT ONE REPUBLICAN

voted for the

 "Affordable Care Act." 

 Not one.

Who does this president think they represent?  (Besides domestic terrorists... "tea-baggers," extremists, and anarchists...)  It's called the other half of the country, Mr. Obamacare.
 

DO you think, Mr. President, that the GOP (all facets of it) should just give up the fight, just because you say so?

The Left never gave up the Utopian dream for Universal Health Care.  It's still the ultimate goal -- is it not?  See here, and oops, what I said was, here,  and with Harry Reid double fudge brownie downing on the single payer health care system here. 

The Left is so patient.  How long has it been?   Decades in the making?

Here's a Hell's Kitchen Habanero Pepper update:  Cruz wasn't in the Senate the first go round.  As a Senator from the fine state of Texas, he is entitled to a say  -- even if some say it's too late -- even if it takes a filibuster lasting 21 hours to fully bake. 

Another way of looking at it -- large or small, elections have consequences  (shout out to you, too, John McCrazy Cain).  The people of Texas put Rafael Edward "Ted" Cruz in the hot seat in 2013 for a reason; and Cruz proceeded to do exactly what the people of Texas wanted him to do, no matter what, no matter how hard it was.  KUDOS to you, dear sir.

And Mr. President -- you may not agree, or like it -- but as president of these United States, there is an inherent obligation to let Cruz speak for those of us who oppose this outrageous piece of legislation without ridicule; and without undermining the full faith and credit of the American people that THIS congress, THIS president, THIS administration, heeds every word like a well loved recipe passed down through the generations.


We, the people, always have the floor. 

It would be perfectly fine by me if this government doesn't survive another day.

The thing is:  the House has averted a government shut down.

It's up to the Senate to keep it.
By the time they reconvene, they will have about as long as it takes to roast a standing crown of pork -- or each other --  to do it. 

In the great scheme of things -- the president and his liberal organizers have waited this long to complete his fundamental health care transformation, what's another delay?   [Guess that only works if the president thinks of it first...ooooh snap. and make mine ginger]   But seriously, how insane would it be if they can't deal with a little itty bitty delay?  Right?   Anarchy comes in all kinds of flavors, doesn't it now?


At the end of the day tomorrow -- it may not be pretty, but let's just hope it's eatable.
