It's Called "a Solution That Won't Work to a Problem That Doesn't Exist" Thing

fascinating thought is coming to the surface due to the massive overreach @ the FCC.

This whole "net neutrality" thing is anything but.

What has captured my attention -- the arguments against the new regulation in and of itself.

The arguments, the language --  the encapsulating of what is at stake and just what might be lost -- justify total restraint.  And in the natural process of things, circle back around to justify just why our Rule of Law in America, along with the government attached in its care, has been designed the way it was designed --  but even more important, why said government doesn't work anymore, let alone even exist.

Don't think you're special over there at the FCC, Ajit --  it's just the left-wing, hair-brained approach for everything under the sun; it just so happens to be the everyday run of the mill oppression meeting up with twenty first century ignorance.  It's just occurring in the light of day, instead of its usual cover of night.

No. Wait.  It is happening in the cover of night...

Let's go to an outfit called "Electronic Frontier Foundation"  -  a place all about "defending your rights in the digital world."

They say:

"Our message has been clear from the beginning: the FCC has a role to play, but its role must be firmly bounded."  [ooooh, kinda like good government]

Needless to say,  they are now digitally reconciling big doubts along with a mother-load of good intentions.

They go on with their lament --

Two weeks ago, we learned that we had likely managed the first goal—the FCC is going to do the right thing and reclassify broadband as a telecommunications service, giving it the ability to make new, meaningful Open Internet rules.  But we are deeply concerned that the FCC’s new rules will include a provision that sounds like a recipe for overreach and confusion: the so-called “general conduct rule.”

As crazy as this idea may sound, you should get together with Ajit.....

What we are experiencing now is called technical difficulties.  And it's complicated.

No.  Not really.
It's called "a solution that won't work to a problem that doesn't exist,"
Or, if it ain't broke don't fix it.

In other words, it's just how progressives make progress reaching their overreach goals.

apparently, the FCC Commissioner Tom Wheeler isn't even going to discuss it anymore.  He simply refuses to discuss the ruse before Congress on principle, being the principal decision maker for the FCC and the principles it keeps.  

Compromising on our principles is just what we do (now).

"Tickets to the event started $10,000 per person, including dinner and a photo op. Those donating $32,400 per couple got listed as “sponsors” and could take part in a VIP reception. Those donating $64,800 per couple were listed as “hosts” and could take part in a “VIP clutch."  -- ...get all the scoop @Variety, here]

i'm not seeing it  (i mean, he was nominated for the peace prize just two weeks in -- seriously?); as such, i had to highlight this load of caca in pink just to stomach the leaps and turns of good faith.

but more than that, a president getting a trophy for doing what he is supposed to do?

for standing up for something just because it's the right thing to do?

getting a trophy for participating on the right side of life and liberty?

 he is the president for pete's sake...don't all  American presidents do this?

and it's going to be THAT kind of day.  

And why so jaded G so early on the day, pray tell?

For he's compassionate to a point; he's high and mighty and noble and pleased only when he gets his way; he jumps to conclusions only when said conclusions align with that certain something that is also  fully complaint with his agenda; for he's transparent ...as he promised....when he wants to be, how he wants to be, and when he wants to be, and only when it's in his favor.

Transparent, indeed.

here's some presidential party favors fresh from the Horn's backyard...and i quote Ted Johnson quoting Him :

Obama warned of “a self-fulfilling prophesy” during a midterm election year where “people who have the most at stake in a government that works opt out of the system; those who don’t believe government can do anything are empowered; gridlock reigns, and we got this downward spiral of even more cynicism and more dysfunction. And we have to break out of that cycle and that’s what this election all about,” Obama said, in remarks that lasted about 15 minutes.

He added that his travels to other countries have led him not to “buy this notion purported here that that somehow America is on a downward trajectory. By every indicator we are better positioned than any country on earth to succeed in this knowledge economy in the 21st century. But what is absolutely true is that if we don’t make good choices we could decline, and we’re not going to make good choices unless we break out of this cycle in which dysfunction breeds cynicism, and we have to break out of it. And that happens during midterms. That does not happen during presidential elections.

FOR -- after SIX years as president and adding a couple more if you go ahead and include his "presence" in the Senate  -- HE IS WASHINGTON.  He is to blame for leading this nation during this era of  "dysfunction."

Who is he trying to kid?

Oh that's right; he's talking to his marry band of hollywood left wing loons.

Only with this audience could he get away with talking in circles and come off reasonably coherent, as everyone gives way to a respectable round of ovation...

The real thing is, Washington under THIS administration is functioning just fine. too fine, in fact.

Ted Cruz has the idea... see his report on just how much "the challenges out there remain daunting and we have a Washington that’s not working”  (according to Obama)  (yeah, right, according to T and G).

For Washington is functioning via the Executive Branch, the Department of Justice, the Department of Land Management, the IRS, the Fed...shall I keep going?  just fine and without any help from congress.

The trigger event was an agreement signed last May between the federal government and the University of Montana to resolve a Title IX dispute over a sexual-assault case...

Everywhere we turn --  the conservative half of the country is being attacked, mocked,victimized, vilified,  pummeled into the ground, SUED [you will really like that link too]-- and basically deemed, labeled, and shipped on a slow boat  to China  totally insignificant.  Worthless,   Dirt.  Lower than dirt.

[G note:  I would never attempt to shut down the liberal mindset and go on a rampage delivering high level personal attacks just because I don't agree with it.  Never.  How the Left could be so intimidated and affected by alternative ways to govern, or rather, not to govern, these fine United States is beyond my realm of understanding.  Speaking of Civil Rights -- we all have a voice.]

All the while, THIS administration is functioning on all cylinders, with a mainstream media hypnotically going through the motions, virtually fallen all asleep from the hum of the deafening white noise, chock-full with the corruption of power and the lure of perpetuating ideological lies.  With a media empowered from within and without, fully supportive of the little engine that could, as if the steaming locomotive on high speed rail is unseen; it chooses propaganda over the truth; it sells a Utopian pipe dream over the fundamental, self-reliant, rugged individualism this nation was originally intended and pre-destined by the real conductor, Divine Providence, of course.

There is no cause for alarm; for the plan is not only in motion  and Organizing for America, but it's working.

There is no need to sound the red alert, Mr. President, so please make the little Mrs. happy and stop campaigning  -- unless, of course, you happen to be one of the few, the proud, the 47%, who are NOT  aligned with THIS.  For then, and only then,  duh, let the alarms blare.   For this wily, progressive, oppressive, controlling, regulating, enterprising snuffing, regime currently reigning as if America were a kingdom has got to go somewhere where the sun don't shine.  This regime has not brought peace, unity, or anything of the sort; worshiping at the alter of "the ends justify the means," this administration has done nothing more than divide us, one by one, piece by piece.   But of course maybe it's just me.

It's a Day That Begs a Question, or Two, Thing

Dear America,

can't even remember where we were at
before settling in for a long winter's nap.

No matter.

The world keeps on keepin' on.
The Drudge Report keeps on drudging along.
While some people just get up and quit [check out Cheney, here].

It has become crystal clear over the last several weeks, that I seem to live a monk's life in comparison to the level of activity of many.... starting at the first crack of dawn and looking no further than extended family joyfully joining us for the holidays.

My house usually entertains three souls -- my girl, my boo, and me -- and it's pretty darn quiet.   Much like church mice, the three of us scurry around while deep into our own thoughts -- contemplative, springing internal, noise and everyday combustion remains purposefully out of range, choosing to watch the world be busy if we want to from the panoramic view.

We read.

We write.

We pray.

We cook.

We think.

And every once in a while, we spin off to be industrious, alive and doing our thing, being in relationship with others... unveiling our other side -- the one that actually likes talking and being engaging with others.

And just like that, we slip out of our robes and slip into a brand new mode, maybe even flashing a high kick or two, and begin parading around looking more Monk-ette (it's half monk and  half Rockette...and ooooh rah, the making up of words on the fly is a good sign for the old G thing, but I digress). 

But anywho, we integrate tuning in and tuning out as if on remote control.

We like our quiet.

I like my world to be at peace, as well.

Hate conflict of all kinds.  Avoid it usually, at all costs.

Isn't it sad with what has happened in Fallujah.  What a waste of industry, of life, of limb, of military funds, making any attempt to bring Iraq into a brand new day.  For what?  All to have Al Queda swoop in and snap it up and after the loss of thousands of lives later?

And since it was mentioned nearly right at the start -- have you seen the headlines of Drudge?  Every single day.  Every single day, the most horrific collection of news, of culture, of humanity and of the times is brought to the center fold.  It is one of the most unsettling places to land on the web in the every day -- and yet we must.  Matt Drudge takes a pulse of America and she isn't pretty.  What are we doing to ourselves, huh?


My Sunday ritual includes a block of time watching T.V. Ministry over my coffee.  It usually spans a local program, Turning Point with Dr. David Jeremiah, and of course, my favorite - Joel Osteen, and a Catholic Mass from the Heart of the Nation, with the priests changing from Sunday to Sunday.

This past week, Heart of the Nation's sermon asked a question:  What do you seek?

It's a good question.

Just maybe -- what we truly seek is not found outside our front door; it's not satisfied by a standing rib roast and garlic mashed potatoes with sticky toffee cookies for dessert, as delectable as it very well may be, especially shared with the ones we love; and it's certainly not satiated by an after Christmas boon(doggle) put on plastic...let alone staying in Hawaii with just a few friends to escape the kids, the husband, and the harried public life carried on the taxpayer dime!

Perhaps the cultural divide of what America stands for, and who we are, and more important, what we seek, can be answered from the inside out.   For it MUST be answered from the inside out, one at a time, and by our lonesome.  

The call to go inward is screaming at us -- to contemplate this Life, this Liberty, and this Happiness;  all of which seem to be quite uncomfortably in flux.   These United States, these 300 million pieces of a whole, have a choice between seeking and finding the things that tear us down and do us harm  -- or the things that lift us up and bring us unity, and redemption, and assimilation into one nation.

What have we done to ourselves?

What do you seek?

The strength to mutter the questions aloud seems to be a good beginning; it's something to think about anyway.  And it just so happens to be the place this girl inaugurates a brand new day in the year of our Lord, Two Thousand and Fourteen.  Happy Monday in this new year.

It's About Working Twice as Hard as Anyone Else Thing

Dear America,

this morning little old g thing is disturbed by the general messaging going around...it's about the blur of worlds...of spin, of re-direction; it's about taking something untrue and watching it take on a life of it's own, taking something true and turning it into 'there's no there there' -- or taking something true and not saying anything at all, as in 'on the advice of council...'.

I marvel at the dynamic and cringe at the reality.

It's been days since the commencement -- but in the light of this new day, the lingering ire prompts a comment or two before it's full and obligatory release.  

And just what, pray tell, has me all tied into knots?  A moment when the president said this:

"...as an African American

you have to work twice as hard

as anyone else if you want to get by."

And basically moving on to make the point, a Morehouse graduate is no exception to the rule.

The thing is -- for this president to stoop to such a tired and worn belief system in front of the best of the best within the African-American community, it surely must be a crime against itself.   While the Left loves to remind us -- whether it's involving political campaigns or purchasing groceries -- demographics across America have changed, watching a thirty second Pepsi commercial proves it so.  So in this new day and age, Mr. President -- considering the office you keep and all -- I do believe times dictate an edit, like yesterday.  But more than that -- wouldn't it be more true to say what is true for you, Morehouse, is true for all of us? 

True story coming up, Mr. President:  According to the annals of generations gone by, when my papa brought home an "A" his mama told him 'why isn't it an "A+" son'?   We all heard it, all the time; needless to say, it became a family lesson, of sorts, and likewise became an teachable moment passed on to me, and so on and so on.  Maybe.    Seems over time and through the altering of norms and parenting practices, using a sliding scale with loving discretion becoming widely more acceptable  -- keeping it to a case by case basis, that is -- a simple A became okay.   [Translation: we softened up a wee bit and went the other way!]

And yet -- I can't help myself.  I hear you say what you said to Morehouse and my head begins to spin, wondering, hmmmm, something's not quite right....

If what you say -- as an "African-America you have to work twice as hard as anyone else if you want to get by" be true and a perfectly reasonable argument... I do believe the jury is still out.  But hypothetically, let's run with it anyway.  So how is it that YOU --

• are totally unaccounted for during the night of the Benghazi attacks?  As you were sleeping, you, decidedly, are so absent from your duties, the administration was forced to mastermind a total lie to cover for you...developing a lie so big, you had to keep it up for weeks and nearly to this day... beginning with the botched, edited, talking points delivered by the  US Ambassador Susan Rice and continuing with you before the General Assembly at the United Nations delivering a full blown scandal.  Is this working twice as hard as anyone else?  Letting our security slip over months leading up to the attack, commanding a 'stand down' before retiring for the night leading to an horrific outcome of 4 Americans dead, and disseminating a lie to cover up the truth?

Knowing me and watching you -- I would have worked twice as hard as you that night.  I would have never gone to bed.  I would have showed up somewhere all night long if that's what it took.

• are totally unaware of the IRS targeting of conservatives until it hit the news cycle?   When, in fact, your people [administration] are all over this little tit for tat targeting of  predominately 'white, middle aged, conservative, patriotic, tea party patriots.'  [Actions being not only illegal, but clearly smacks of racism, too]  From the top of the IRS on down, the message -- whether articulated aloud or not -- allowed for a sweeping rule of radicals run amuck to attack the opposition.  [Just go back to read G all last week, it will be good 'n plenty for you...]   Is this working twice as hard as anyone else to monitor such a thing?

And yet -- there is a there, there with a trail far and wide to follow -- see here,   and here:  "it really is inconceivable he wouldn't have known",  and for an encore: "let's give her an upgrade and a pay raise here.

"Why was the culture such, under your watch, that an employee felt comfortable targeting conservative groups? Did you investigate that?"

Wish that question was directed to the president.  It wasn't; it was Rep. Trey Gowdy speaking to Douglas Schulman, former chief of IRS, wondering why he didn't do anything to stop "the insidious practice" of targeting conservatives when he very well knew it was happening under his watch -- choosing to mislead Congress for a year and well after the election of 2012.   For full grilling, go here.

While that Lois -- the one taking "the fifth" yesterday -- oh come to find out -- she has a history of targeting conservatives, mainly the Christian Coalition.  And thank you, Mark Hemingway of The Weekly Standard!   [And can someone, anyone, really take the fifth after that same someone, anyone, voluntarily rendering themselves available for cross-examination and further questioning by declaring innocence, having done nothing wrong?]

BUT back to the guy who has to work twice as hard as anyone else  -- not because of the content of his character but for the color of his skin, according to the guy, himself.   How is it then that YOU --

• are totally unaware of your Department of Justice illegally spying upon the AP Service?  Per your talking head, Jay Carney: "As I said yesterday, we have no knowledge other than press reports of any attempt by the Justice Department to seek phone numbers of the Associated Press."  Is this working twice as hard as anyone else?  Do you even know what goes on under your watch?   What purpose are the presidential daily briefings for  -- if not to make you totally aware of everything going on under your watch -- foreign and domestic?

But while we're at it -- your Attorney General, Eric Holder, who also happens to be an African-American -- said he didn't know either. [I only bring that up -- his color -- because YOU brought it up; clearly, you made the observation, YOU made it fair game for cross examination, if nothing else, no?]   But how is it even possible -- leaving the signing off of a subpoena for phone records to a deputy, maybe, I really don't know?   Is this working twice as hard as anyone else, too? 

Oh "Others may get distracted by chasing every fleeting issue that passes by" Obama has it all figured out, doesn't he?  Aiming to take our attention away from the truth...

He has to work twice as hard as anyone else to cover for not working twice as hard in the first place. 

The irony is rich, isn't it?

But under further scrutiny, doesn't all of this simply explain what President Obama really means by "we are five days away from fundamental transformation"?  Everyone loves to call him a smart man, right?  Wouldn't this mean he knows exactly what he is doing, and more like he is working twice as hard as anyone else being the community organizer with a legacy of Marxism in the family midst?

Alinsky Rule #13: "Pick a target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it."

Alinsky Rule #5:  "Ridicule is man's most potent weapon."


"Others may get distracted by chasing every fleeting issue that passes by. [Benghazi, IRS, AP, and FOX News ]...But the middle class will always be my number-one focus, period. Your jobs, your families, your communities -- that’s why I ran for President. Oh yes, every fleeting issue -- the ludicrousness of it all, indeed.

This is what Obama --  courtesy of Saul Alinsky, his mentor -- really thinks about the Middle Class:

"The middle classes are numb, bewildered, scared into silence.  They don't know what, if anything, they can do.  This is the job for today's radical -- to fan the embers of hopelessness into a flame to fight...

So you return to the suburban scene of your middle class with its variety of organizations from PTAs to League of Women Voters, consumer groups, churches, and clubs.  The job is to search out the leaders in these various activities, identify their major issues, finds areas of common agreement, and excite their imagination with tactics that can introduce drama and adventure into the tedium of middle-class life...

Start with them easy.  Don't scare them off.  The opposition's reactions will provide the "education" or radicalization of the middle class.  It does every time." (from Rules For Radicals,  1971)

and so on and so on.

But what do we get from our president?   I don't know; I didn't know until you all knew; that happened under Bush; talking points came from the Intelligence Community; I don't know; only stylistic changes were made, non-substantive;  I don't know; I will not rest until justice is done; we will get to the bottom of this; if this is true; if this really occurred; justice will be served; I don't know; it wasn't me, it was my deputy; I don't know anything about it...Oh -- and you over there -- AP, IRS, CIA, State Department, Treasury Department, anyone, anyone -- trust your lips are sealed...wink wink.

And this, my friends, is what working twice as hard as anyone else looks like.

Oh lookie there, there, my times up; must head out to my other job (just aiming to work twice as hard as anyone else).
