It's Just a Girl Responding to a Past President Punk Thing

Dear America,

obama also said something like, he was proud he left office without a scandal.

that is the funniest thing I have heard all day, and the day is just getting started.  yay me.

The only reason Obama escaped his eight years, apparently, according to his own great mind, without a trace of scandal was because the media protected him; acting more like Obama's drooling media entourage, the left-leaning, kool-aid sippin', partisan hacks, ignored the scandals! 

My gosh, he must have a huge pair. 

I mean, like, where do we begin?

4.  the passing of OBAMACARE -- a mandate, a tax, upending one-sixth of our economy and destroying the health care industry as we know it (used to know it) under the cover of darkness, without a single republican vote...."if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor. period" 
5.  HILLARY's  illegal server ...and the transference of confidential information via email...
6.  Shovel ready jobs.........not, you just paid off your liberal friends/associates
7.  DOJ Spying on journalists...can you say James Rosen?
8. Solyndra
9. PRISM.   And NSA surveillance programs
10. The treasonous nuclear deal made with IRAN; Iran cash payments and the well timed release of political prisoners...
11.  VA Hospital Administration, long list of crimes and misdemeanors and veterans dying.
12.  Clinton Foundation, not to mention the Clinton connection with Uranium sales, Russian collusion, dossiers, etc.
13.  Voter intimidation by New Black Panther Party
14.  General Services Administration fraud.... going to Vegas, baby
15.  Pontificating about how UNPATRIOTIC it is to run a deficit, and be in debt to the tune of trillions, while campaigning circa 2008 -- and then, get in office, and double our national debt over eight years!  DOUBLED it!  It was nearly at ten trillion when you took over, and nearly at twenty when you finally left. HOW UNPATRIOTIC, you arrogant son of a bullshitter.

and can you believe this --  the Daily Mail post also noted, "in contrast to showboating and hostility, Obama said listening to the advice of others and surrounding himself with people of integrity were the foundation of his leadership style." 

ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

a little throw up in the mouth here is totally acceptable, and understandable, having witnessed the eight years of "I, I, I, I, and me, and my, and I, I, I, I".  What a punk he is.  I just wanna slap him and wake him up to the whole world, not just the one he finds himself center of the entire universe.

And if bringing up hostility, Barack, can we have an honest conversation of your hostility towards America, in general, and start with the great apology tour in the Middle East during the first year of office?  And from there, maybe, go to the return of the Winston Churchill bust?   And from there, discuss  your leadership style by way of divide and conquer --  creating cultural factions, manufacturing identity politics, and forming political alliances that undermine America's foundation and overall unity?

gosh I have missed talking about the things you say.

Guess what, Barack -- your pompous post-president ass was also created by way of John McCain nominating the honorable Sarah Palin as Vice President on the republican ticket, the one that would also set the stage for  new leadership under President Trump, enter stage right.

Wait.
Wait a minute.
Like what happened between Palin and during the eight years before Trump? 
hmmmmm, what was it?

Oh right, It was YOU! 
You happened! 

And you expect us to accept your latest hypothesis that Sarah did this, and that you had nothing to do with it?   Are you for real? 

America suffered through EIGHT years under your leadership; everything got worse....unemployment, people on food stamps, race relations, military preparedness, cost of living, loss of wages, cost of college, national debt, budget deficits, growth of bureaucracy and regulations....I mean, we the people got pretty depressed, like, we were in a recession.  A big one.  A vewy vewy big one.  You know what I mean?

But who knew; with the way you're carrying on, Barack   -- might I be so bold to point out that perhaps Palin deserves to be QUEEN for the day, given it's International Women's Day, and all!  I mean, c'mon, it's mind boggling, this power to effect change, such as she has....I mean, if it weren't for Sarah Palin...yeah, yeah.   She opened the door for this rash and raw run of populism, making way for this president. 

Are you serious?  Pick a side.

Forgive me, but this notion of Palin's so-called proprietary privilege of origin of this populist rise doesn't even make any sense --  you know, given how you, and every other leftists, along with the left-leaning media, incessantly poked fun at her.  How in the world could she be so influential, and pull off something so earth shattering as changing the course of politics in America, of all things, especially considering she is so intellectually lacking, uneducated, all talkin' in that certain way, doncha know?  If you recall, she didn't even read, like anything,  according to the press way back when.

Oh this is rich, this Barack commentary.

Now HE is still so relevant, isn't he?  Sitting there so smug.

He knows so much; he's so smart; he's so articulate, and bright, and nice looking  -- and clean, right Joe?

gosh it must be good to be Barack.  Oh, and dare I also observe that somebody -- somebody with the initials BHO -- continues to beat his own chest, right on cue; he just does it like the smarmy, intellectual, global -elitist that he is, that's all.  And he gets away with it, because he is just so loved by all the world, especially that press of ours.    Nothing's changed -- everyone just sits back and fawns.

It's crazy really; even after all the scandals nobody in the media seemed to care about....

Earth to Barack -- you may be under the influence of your own greatness and majesty, leaving the office of the president without so much as a trace of scandal, but that would also make you wholly delusional (which just so happens to be an attribute fully supported by the sycophants who adore you in every way).  Sorry to break it to you, Barack, but just being ignorant to the facts doesn't make them any less true, k?  Are we clear? are we clear?  But just to be clear -- one of your favorite phrases -- me thinks you are not thinking clearly...suggest you get that head checked.


Making a sharp turn in my own mind, and returning to an idea for a book:  The Audacity of Dope. It is gonna be the greatest book ever.   It's about a guy, with narcissistic tendencies, raised by a sea of Marxist mentors, family, confidantes, and community activists.... being representative of a life ripe with contradictions and fluctuating realities, depending upon the audience, and surely justifying how the end justifies the means, yadi yadi yada.  The guy somehow or other makes it to the highest office in all the land and just when we think he has gone away --  golfing and body surfing in Hawaii for the rest of his life -- he comes back.  Like a bad dream.  It's gonna be a page turner, mark my highfalutin' words as I beat my chest. teehee... I am woman, hear me roar....

yup on this International Women's Day, I revel in me! G!  just a girl and this blog....#986...and Barack; it's just like the olden days.

and here's to hope... and more change...for ALL women, by the way...not just the ones who gravitate to the left.

It's a To Grow or Not to Grow Thing

we are winding down with our summer compositions ....this one just so happens to be "numero ocho" in case anyone is keeping track...right, didn't think so.

This morning, this girl is finding herself enveloped in amazement, that, for one, I have reached 950 blogs in All-American Just A Girl Fashion -- 
and for two, that it feels like I'm only getting started.  Late bloomers, anyone?

I can remember early on, my mama wondering if I would really have enough to say; and to come to a time, now 950 blogs later, and still be on a roll (give or take the breaks in-between), my goal in getting to a thousand is just a hop skip and a jump away...and with any luck, it will align with the celebration of ten years, come July 2019.

Having said that, in this moment of reflection, I know I couldn't get here entirely on my own.  My circle of loyal supporters -- family and close friends -- have nourished me with constructive feedback, provided encouragement, and have directly, and indirectly, strengthened my spirit to press forward, onward and upward. 

And, of course, on a deeper level, my relationship with God shows me the way, His Way, every single day.

With maturity -- comes the ability to see the bigger picture, to give credit where credit is due, to foster a gentle humility, and be mindful of our weaknesses, as well as, our strengths. 

I realize we are still in the days of honoring an American Hero, in John McCain -- and that is all good and fine and dandy.  And yet, hearing the news of Sarah Palin not being invited, and further, being asked not to come anywhere close to the funeral, is just so disheartening.

With maturity -- even a John McCain had to realize that if it weren't for that shade of lipstick standing next to him, on that political stage, and coming in as his surprise running mate in 2008, his ticket would have tanked to the center of the earth, never to see the light of day again.  And that, my friends, is just the ugly truth.

I fault the McCain campaign -- if not, John McCain, himself -- for not championing a fighting spirit to support her to the fullest, both during, and especially after, facing their ultimate fate and miserable loss.

It is shameful that Sarah was told not to even think about coming, not after all she did to raise his campaign from the dead.  

And then to make her a spectacle, all over again?  
Are you serious?  Are you serious?!

It is just so wrong every which way to Sunday and back.

But now, noticing a twinkle of maturity illuminating in neon lights from my mind's eye, I will hold my tongue and refrain from making this any more than a reasonable observation.  But if you ask me, by "not inviting" Sarah, the family made Sarah a greater liability than if they had just sent her an invite like everybody else close to the good Senator.  It's like why create that kind of drama, right?

With maturity --  I have finally reached an age where I can actually see the lines being drawn right in front of my own eyes in real time...to create a little drama here or not to create....to make a big deal of this, or not....and so on and so on...asking ourselves, 'Is this a season  To Grow or Not to Grow?' that is the question.

And you know what?

If you ask me, and of course you're not -- but there isn't a whole lot in life worth the kind of nonsense that only senseless drama and sophomoric dust up's bring, you know what I mean?  I mean, eventually, somebody has to clean it up...namely, the person who made the fur fly in the first place.

The thing is -- as the quote at the top from Charles Stanley taps into -- if our actions, first and foremost, are executed in a way that honors God, then we should be golden.  However, if there is evidence of even a smidgen of selfishness, if we are being unjust or spiteful, if we are lacking in a show of good character in any way -- then the fate we meet up with around the corner is usually instantaneous! And it ain't in the least bit pretty, just sayin'.

The thing between McCain and Trump was a spectacle to watch, as well.  

And wasn't that something to get a note from the grave, cowardly projecting a political bias against a sitting president of his own party...."We weaken our greatness when we confuse our patriotism with tribal rivalries that have sown resentment and hatred and violence in all the corners of the globe. We weaken it when we hide behind walls rather than tear them down, when we doubt the power of our ideals, rather than trust them to be the great force for change they’ve always been."

and then, coming to a close, McCain immediately contradicts himself, by adding --

"We are 325 million opinionated, vociferous individuals. We argue and compete and sometimes even vilify each other in our raucous public debates. But we have always had so much more in common with each other than in disagreement. If only we remember that and give each other the benefit of the presumption that we all love our country, we will get through these challenging times. We will come through them stronger than before. We always do."



To honor our nation's sovereignty and security is not a bad thing; and John McCain --even in his final hours --  should have recognized that the majority, of not only this great nation, but the entire republican party, overwhelmingly supports policy to secure our borders and enforce our immigration laws.  If  only he had a little bit of maturity to see it....

Maturity doesn't come automatically with age; it is a skill set that requires daily practice, role models, a relationship with our God, Creator and Higher Power to show us the true way,  and a personal commitment to want it, to make it our intention, every waking day.  Maturity is not for the faint of heart.

It's a Know Your History Thing

Dear America,


I'll admit it; I do not know my history the way I should.  But at nearly a half century old, I do believe there is still hope for me.  And I can tell you this, the more I begin to know, the more I want to know; the deeper I get into it, the deeper I want to go.  It's as if uncovering America's true birth, with all the ages in between, completes a part of me I never knew existed.

The truth is, our history is not just a story like out of the movies or as told by book or by Nook  -- it is real life, real people, countrymen we have descended from, in one way or another, who remarkably live on only in our memory.  When we forget the stories, when we stop telling them, we will lose that which binds.

SO the good news this happy monday morn... now that Sarah Palin has caused such a stir (again) having made crazy claims about Paul Revere and the British and all....having the audacity to go a step further and claim Revere was also alerting the Brits who were here and living among us, as they say (because they were), to not even try -- is that, rest assured, she did it again!

She made us all think about our past; while, she just might have, caused a few of us to crack open a book to get the facts straight -- if only in our own little heads -- or to write a commentary on the HuffPo or Politico; she made us give pause, long enough to give the ride deeper thought, in hopes of trying to understand what we have all grown up to pass off as just a man, and his horse, running through town, yelling and screaming, 'the British are coming, the British are coming.'

Funny -- as they were already here. and in force!

The British were forcing upon the colonies such servitude to the King and beyond, we had to rise up and take arms against the crown; the whole reason of coming to the new world, fleeing religious persecution in the name of religious freedoms, was to get as far away from tyranny as possible, and it would have been in vain if we did nothing.

In the middle of Patrick Henry's speech before the Virginia House of Burgesses, March 23, 1775 -- you know, the famous one where he ends it with the often repeated cry...."but for me, give me liberty or give me death!" --  he gave us this:

"They tell us, sir, that we are weak; unable to cope with so formidable an adversary.  But when shall we be stronger?  Will it be next week, or the next year?  Will it be when we are totally disarmed, and when a British guard shall be stationed in every house?  Shall we gather strength by irresolution and inaction?  Shall we acquire the means of effectual resistance by lying supinely on our back and hugging the delusive phantom of hope, until our enemies shall have bound us hand and foot?  Sir, we are not weak if we make a proper use of those means which the God of nature hath placed in our power.  The millions of people, armed in holy cause of liberty, and in such a country as that which we possess, are invincible by any force which our enemy can send against us.  Besides, sir, we shall not fight our battles alone.  There is a just God who presides over the destinies of nations, and who will raise up friends to fight our battles for us.   The battle, sir, is not to the strong alone; it is to the vigilant, the active, the brave...There is no retreat but in submission and slavery?"

What will it take, he says, until a "British guard shall be stationed in every house?"  This had become customary, our homes were not our homes; our lives were not our lives -- British rule surrounded us and made us subjects of British rule, even though an ocean separated us, even while a brand new ideology was beginning to shape us.

In Henry's opening statement, he sets up the audience saying:

"for my own part, I consider it as nothing less than a question of freedom or slavery; and in  proportion to this magnitude of the subject ought to be the freedom of the debate.  It is only in this way that we can hope to arrive at truth, to fulfill the great responsibility which we hold to God and our country.  Should I keep back my opinions at such time, through fear of giving offense, I should consider myself as guilty of treason towards country, and of an act of disloyalty town the Majesty of Heaven, which I revere above all earthly kings."

Sarah Palin is a living example of a Paul Revere, a Patrick Henry -- going right smack up against the rising tide, set forth by rudimentary standards, enforced by the clear and present narrow-mindedness of mainstream media and left wing pundits.  They feast upon her so-called gaffes; they profit from every move she makes, whether by bus or by fuss.  And through it all, she fears not of giving offense.

Like any battle, victory goes to the "vigilant, the active, the brave."

For me, I love Henry's second paragraph, when he gives us this:

"Mr. President, it is natural to man to indulge in the illusions of hope.[isn't that just stellar We are apt to shut our eyes against a painful truth, and listen to the song of that siren till she transforms us into beasts.  Is this the part of wise men, engaged in a great and arduous struggle for liberty?  Are we  disposed to be of the number of those who, having eyes, see not, and, having ears, hear not, the things which so nearly concern their temporal salvation?  For my part, whatever anguish of spirit it may cost, I am willing to know the whole truth; to know the worst, and to provide for it."

continuing,

"...And judging by the past, I wish to know what there has been in the conduct of the British ministry for the last ten years to justify those hopes with which gentlemen have been pleased to solace themselves and the House. Is it that insidious smile with which our petition has been lately received?  Trust it not, sir, it will prove a snare to your feet.  Suffer not yourselves to be betrayed with a kiss..."

continuing,

"There is no longer any room for hope.  If we wish to be free -- if we mean to preserve inviolate those inestimable privileges for which we have been so long contending -- if we mean not basely to abandon the noble struggle in which we have been so long engaged, and which we have pledged ourselves never to abandon until the glorious object of our contest shall be obtained -- we must fight!   I repeat it, sir, we must fight!  An appeal to arms and to the God of hosts is all that is left us!"

Every facet of the truth is essential; it is a way to expand our understanding and grow a deeper connection, not only with each other through story, but forging our path forward, knowing everything there is to know, having been thoroughly bathed in our shadow.  Shining light upon our history, even through our most darkest hours, is what gives relevance and meaning to each new generation that comes.

Sure, maybe a Palin does not speak for everyone -- just as a George Schwartz (now Soros) does not speak for me.  But no matter which side you fall, Palin is making us get it -- you know, a history lesson or two along the way; we are delving deeper into our past more now than we have been for years, generally speaking.  We are talking about Paul Revere in the town square -- can it be any more self-evident than that?

And how about that Alec Baldwin, telling us if he thinks Mitt is our man.  Or, how about anyone on the left telling the right how we should think about the long list of able bodied, patriotic Americans willing to throw their hat into the ring and become the next President of the United States of America.

Are you kidding me? and how did Patrick Henry put it...

"They tell us, sir, that we are weak; 
unable to cope with so formidable an adversary..." 

Who are you to tell any of us how to think -- considering, you are basically speaking for all the rest of us who happen to fall just right of center, and sit as a majority in these here colonies now standing united? Hey, FYI, only about 20% of Americans buy into the whole hard core social justice fundamental transformation mania thing...and only about another 20% are best described as left tilt...the rest -- ah, how do you say -- and the rest is history.  It is that 60% you need to look out for -- the "vigilant, the active, the brave"  -- a band of citizenry respective of our past, knowing full well what is at stake -- who will make a history that changes everything.

ah details...as "our brethren are already in the field!   why stand we here idle?  what is it that gentlemen wish? what would they have?  is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery?
Forbid it, Almighty God!  
I know not what course others may take; 
but for me, 
give me liberty, or give me death!"

the thing is, today,  in spirit  -- I piggy-bareback with the man and his horse taking a midnight ride... alongside the man who said "there is no longer any room for hope"...and not to be left out, or outdone, sitting alongside that girl riding the bus somewhere in New England this morning...God only knows what she will say today.  And amen to that.

To really dig deep into the psyche of her adversaries -- especially the media trying to keep up with her, in hopes of making sense out of her every move -- my thoughts tell me she should make it as uncomfortable as possible for them; something Palin might use, to add to her ensemble, is a Snaps Cup (only Legally Blonde aficionados will enjoy that); every time she pops open the door she could have a 'snaps for Americana' just itching to be told and attacked with eyeball rolls, deep rooted indignation, and intolerance a plenty.  one man's annoyance might just be another girl's bliss.  it happens everyday. even here.  with a little pink lipstick, it really brings the whole look together.

Dear America,



sweet hallelujah, it's Friday.

before the end of the day, may I recommend a long, hot bubble bath for all of us -- if possible, throw in a few rose petals  -- sip on a glass of chianti -- eat a bar of chocolate -- listen to a little BBKing -- or Sinatra or Sting -- no, make it Toni Braxton or  Tony Bennett...whatever...ya see, I'm so frazzled, I can't even figure out what music I need most.  Point is, just find the melody to move you into another world for just a moment or two, preferably twenty.

the message on this glorious, sunny San Diego day in America is simply, chill; whatever that looks like for you, however the way you must go, just get there, go there, do everything you can in this day to bring yourself to the chill point...today... before the day is through.

We are so incredibly touchy; we are so hopped up on hopping on someone else -- whether it be by character assassination, corporate culture annihilation, social justice justification, or just because they looked at us funny -- we have seemed to have lost our ability to communicate effectively and reasonably and intelligently -- unless you think that looks like beginning with a law suit, slander, incivility or the unthinkable, damaging, visceral and flagrant attack without merit.


POLITICS

Not so amusing to watch, really, is watching someone like Congressman Dennis Kucinich (D - Ohio) sue the company he works for -- seeking damages from a government cafeteria for an olive pit that wreaked havoc in his mouth, to the tune of $150 grand. Hello, this is really suing the American people, all the rest of us.  really?  funny stuff, if it weren't for the prevalence of the common knee-jerk refrain happening all over America today...just sue them falalala lala la....

And gotta love the full page ad -- marking a very public rebuttal -- for all the world to read -- from Taco Bell:

"THANK YOU FOR SUING US."

Working Together
For San Diego

Why do they have to do this, you ask?

Because there has been an uprising against a proposed Walmart Super Store, even in spite of the dismal economic environment here, with unemployment continuing to hang at over 10%; while the unions are a bit tweaked, too, getting their made in china, 'workers of the world unite,' panties all up in a wad...quickly rectifying rules for radicals tactics-- believing if they do this long enough, surely they will just go away.

But Walmart is hardly standing down.  No, it has only fueled their cause -- they are more committed than ever -- and will not falter -- for their intention is on one thing, and one thing only -- to grow their business, building a dozen stores in the San Diego market alone, create approximately "1,400 jobs", paying "competitive wages", encouraging "the use of minority contractors and local suppliers", developing charitable partnerships valued at "$8 million that will work to eradicate hunger, increase workforce development and sustainability."

Two full page ads fighting back with a vengeance for their cause, all the while the American way is being threatened.

ENTERTAINMENT

And by the way, whatever the perceived rift between tea party candidates/constituency and "the right" -- you all better walk back, jack.  Once again, the mainstream media is manufacturing propaganda without a cause; sure, there are plenty of opinions flying left and right about characterizing the Tea Party as simply activists,out to stir up trouble, shake things up, invoking their opinion -- and interfering so,  the audacity really, syndicating a certain Michele Bachmann rebuttal to the president's SOTU address "without permission" no less -- oh my, so  bad. naughty naughty.  

can you feel me now, can you get the sarcasm...if not, then you are missing my drift entirely.

Now Megan McCain is entitled to say whatever she wants; these days, she seems to be a publicity monger in her own little way too -- go for it, it's a free country; however, what was it you said about Bachmann, she's "a poor man's Sarah Palin..."

without commenting on how many things I find wrong with that kind of statement, let me just say, given it is coming from a girl living off of her daddy's name right now, it is pretty funny.

Well, Megan, hate to break it to you, but conventional thinking is so yesterday's politics; that has only led us down a path of progressive policy, middle of the road compromise, taking a real stand for nothing, while spending the people's money on everything, and only arriving at final destination  with nothing to show for it but unsustainable deficits and a mountain of debt in our way. (Newsflash, God love his patriotism,  but your father ranks high in this regard -- or would that be low -- perception is everything you know)

Not to mention the itty bitty detail that... Bachmann was asked by the Tea Party for a response! 

Her webcast was totally unrelated and separate from the official GOP rebuttal, which we have already discussed here on G before, was a pretty brilliant and well articulated response, by the fine gentleman from Wisconsin, Paul Ryan.

OBITUARIES

At first glance, this may seem like a contradiction before the end of the sentence is through, but whatever happened to the more, the merrier, here in the good ole US of A?

When did our differences begin to define us louder than our commonalities?

We don't all listen to the same music;
We don't all believe in the same religion;
We don't all wear the same uniform, the same perfume, the same experiences, or the same political ideology on our sleeve.

Piggy-backing on the ad from Taco Bell, how boring would that be?!

We used to celebrate our differences and practice finding our common ground with respect -- even in the middle of staunch political debate.  

Where oh where did that spirit go?  

My best answer is that it has morphed into a society that tells all, bares all, and loses it all on television, in the paper, on the net with no holds barred. We value letting the fur fly right now, even if that makes us look crazy, or go mad, in the process. Nothing is off limits -- while nothing is sacred, either. hell, if my fifteen minutes of fame doesn't make me a millionaire, maybe I'll find someone or something to sue  OR write a book [addressing the walking into fountain girl featured on YouTube, dennis kucinich the menace, and the Taco Bell/Walmart/CorpUSA antagonize-rs, and the It girl in Megan McCain, all in one fell swoop with the ink).

PERSONALS

As evident by the November elections, to make fun of the Bachmann's or the Palin's of this world would be a mistake; for these are two selfless, patriotic, conservative women who are hardly afraid of stepping into the fray.  Moreover, as the polls seem to show over and over and over again, like old news already, they just so happen to speak directly to the best interests of the majority, in this here United States of America; they speak to the plain old simple folk -- the sixty-six percent of us who do not mindlessly follow the left leaning media. Call us a big ground round of ground beef if you must,  it don't matter, having been fully seasoned with the secret recipe -- we are ready to meet our maker or the frying pan, whichever comes first.  

Bring it; cuz this country's got issues, lots of them -- and clearly, we are no longer afraid of talking about them, spilling them all over our bad self, or showing them off in front of millions and millions of people. it might get ugly; the worst of it may not be over.

the good news is, at least we are still speaking to one another, right?

Dear America,



Last Sunday, Joel Osteen talked about how he wasn't ever going to apologize for God's blessings; he said it in front of his audience of thousands, an added television audience of tens of thousands -- basically, for all ears to hear, he made it perfectly clear, that he is not ashamed of how the Lord has blessed him, his family, and went on to tell us why, sometimes bringing himself to tears.

the long and the short of it seemed to fall back on a realization that for most of us running around in this world, unless we are privy to all the years leading up to the 'time of blessings' shall we say, we really don't see the whole story; we're getting in at the end, at a time when we witness the good stuff, like when the fair maiden finally kisses her handsome prince; we're finding ourselves in the audience of some kind of super power preacher, who by the looks of things is making millions in book sales and weekly tithes through his evangelical ministry, some people might even be wondering what the @%*#, he's so lucky...look at him all happy...I wanna big house, shiny new shoes and the ability to feed my family without a care in the world....all he does is say a bunch of mumbo jumbo about how good it is to be a follower of Christ, a child of God...really, Joel...really...easy for you to say...
 

What we don't see, is the time of struggle; what we are not witness to, are the innumerable times of drought and despair.

We, the people -- sitting from our sweet spot of judgment --  have no idea what in the world it took to get to this time of blessing.

absolutely no idea.

Similar to the attack on Sarah Palin, immediately following her arrival along side John McCain on the big presidential wanna-be stage, the media issued in a new era of character assassination; the left, then and now, pounced on her as if  asking 'what in the world did she ever do to deserve it...' -- all they saw was this beautiful, articulate, polished woman, with her gorgeous, American family standing up behind her, who would before the night is through, change the course of history, while welcoming in a new day -- overnight -- for the republican party and conservatives everywhere.

Upon first impression, whatever the left could see from the outside, could no way justify the ability for Sarah to simply waltz into blessings; she didn't have the right credentials, the proper Ivy League resume, or the recognition of years of public service -- at least for those of us in the lower 48 -- we never saw this locomotive comin'.

What the left refuses to see, to this day, is her years of putting herself through school, the years of service and hockey-mom activism in her own back yard, the years of living close to the land, as all Alaskans naturally do, respectful of the Alaskan environment and natural resources, including oil, fishing, game and the protection of all endangered wildlife.  If the left actually took a genuine interest to get to know who Sarah really is, I have no doubt they would love her -- instead, we get fear and loathing, but maybe that's just me being G.

IN any event, the world was introduced to Sarah long after her time of paying her dues, starting out small, beginning with city council, moving into the mayor's office, and reaching the Governor's seat of the entire state of Alaska -- and especially after taking on the good old boy network, her own party, and the oil industry all at the same time -- which, by the way, she accomplished nearly on her own, making more enemies than friends, and in the end being responsible for totally dismantling the crony capitalism of Alaskan politics; struggle?  the credentials?  the school of hard knocks? the payment of her dues in blood, sweat and tears? not to be seen by the naked -- and thoroughly, ignorant, left brain -- eye.

Likewise, is the business of getting America back on track -- a perfect segway into a quick comparison to the times; we have no appreciation, it would seem, of what got us here in the first place; we are surrounded in blessings, as if showing absolutely no respect for the days, weeks, months, or two centuries of struggle and strife to get us here, to this very moment in time.

We are so full of blessings, we have grown so spoiled, more enamored by looks over substance, we have forgotten each and every principle and value we have painstakingly realized to date, long after the due diligence, the struggle, the heartache...long after the worst part, for all intents and purposes, is over.

It would seem we have no respect for her -- America -- at all.

Nope; all we have left are the petty rushes to judgment; the critical thinking of someone who clings to 'outdated ideas', you know, the ideas that made America pretty wonderful to begin with; nope, now is the time of dividing, rather than uniting -- ever hopeful that our own issues will be heard over the deafening voices of another.

Gone are the good old days, when we actually understood why we are a nation of faith; gone are the days when we recognized free market principles out-shined all the rest; gone are the days when self-reliance was taught, nurtured, cultivated into every process of society while fully and bountifully rewarded; gone are the days when we celebrated another man's riches, for we could very well make it happen too...next; gone are the days when we protected the sanctity of life, the preservation of our own bodies, and honored real love; gone are the days...

gone are the days when we totally got it --  that we are only as good as the character of the people we make -- teaching our children with the highest level of standards and expectations and morals, and, in the end, actually gaining something in return; gone are the days when we lived within our means; gone are the days when we opened the door for the person behind us; gone are the days when we sat down for dinner, with the family, eating a home-cooked meal, when it wasn't a holiday or special night of the week; gone are the days...


gone are the days when we understood why the founders had to have a 3/5th clause; gone are the days when we fought, with real guns and ammo, a civil war to protect the lives and future for all Americans; gone are the days when we made it through the Great Depression saying we would never do that again; gone are the days when we said no more taxation without representation and threw tea into the sea;  gone are the days when we cried, as one nation, after the twin towers collapsed from the direct attack by Islamic Suicide Bomber Terrorists; gone are the days when we truly melted into ONE America -- not about being Irish or Italian, not about Protestant or Catholic, not about Black or White or Yellow or Brown, not about my special interest over yours; gone are the days...

My father sent me what would seem to be a rather innocuous email this morning, telling an age old story of how we got the width of train tracks -- which, by the way, is a strange figure, an exact 4 feet 8.5 inches, between the rails.  SO!  Sitting here, hearing a raging chorus of 'so what' I will leave it at that...

a still small voice begging for more --

alright, alright, shooosh now and sit down, I will tell you:

It is a story as old as time -- and I kid you not one bit....the railroad gauge got it's specifications from the English, who got it's country roads dating back to the beginning of civilization, a time when chariots of fire flew through town raping and pillaging and stealing all they could find, or simply just setting up camp -- the specifications of the chariots were all the same...going back to specifications that were arrived by a calculated mass of 'two horse's asses'; the roman empire was simply conforming to a width to meet the demands and abilities of the times, and more important, stuck to it; the dimensions never changed.

Over time, the ruts in the road became permanent roadways, and from then on, basically, all things invented to move continued to operate using the same standards all through the years.

Sadly, I have not replayed the story to you giving full justice of each and every moment in time, to reflect the rich history, but you get my drift; the specifications of today's railroad goes all the way back to the Roman Empire!

The added budump ba at the end included a tie to NASA -- for the two rockets cradling the space shuttle -- the ones that most people pay absolute no attention to whatsoever -- have to be moved by rail; what specifications to the width of the rockets do you think they had to use?  Good class...now run outside and play.

Some things in our history -- set up by our founders to create the so-called limited government, with limited powers, to allow for the unlimited blessings of the people to truly rise to their highest heights -- were specifically and conscientiously designed using steadfast specifications, of lessons learned long ago, molding fundamental principles with sound, exemplary values that were already tried and true; they knew, and warned us, veering away from one, or in part, could lead to untimely, unimaginable, unintended consequences of the highest order.

The thing is, we have reached a point now that either we have chosen not to see, or simply prefer not to pay homage to, the blue print handed down to us  -- dismissing the past as if it were irrelevant, unimportant and old school; we have no respect for the lessons of a past, a past wrought with struggle, strife, and reminiscent of the true depth and breadth of the real makings of America; we no longer cling to a natural yearning to capture the back story, the who, what, when, where of our history -- absolutely uninterested in everything up until now.

Everything that has led to this moment of blessings is being left by the wayside; all we are into these days is the outcome, the end game, the end no matter the means...and make it snappy, if you will, we are kinda in a hurry.

Our rich history, everything we have worked for, is brushed off, ignored, misunderstood, or entirely miss-characterized; the long and shaky beginning, that just so happened to really date back a couple of millenniums no less, has been reduced to rounding chorus of 'who cares' --


America -- she is beautiful -- and look at her, with the substance to back it up... oh, the things she could do, the places we could go  -- if only we could truly set her free (again).

so the president has the State of the Union speech tonight -- word is leaking out that he will call for a 5 year spending freeze.  That is great news -- and if only I could leave it at that; 

what about his last two years of unprecedented spending?  adding a huge health care entitlement to the nation's woes and basically adding 3.5 Trillion dollars before the day is done (the total of five trillion under  Nancy Pelosi's congressional lead)?  

"a five year spending freeze" -- can't wait to watch him say this with a straight face.

Dear America,

Fascinating the things we pick apart these days.

First off, given the "breaking news" this morning of the Governor of Alabama, Robert Bentley, talking directly to his people, a church crowd, he said  this...

"If the Holy Spirit lives in you that makes you my brothers and sisters. Anyone who has not accepted Jesus, I want to be your brothers and sisters, too,"

and this, "Anybody here today who has not accepted Jesus Christ as their savior, I'm telling you, you're not my brother and you're not my sister, and I want to be your brother," while speaking at Dexter King Memorial Church, following the official inauguration to the office of Governor.

"If he does so [exclude people by religion, or use the office to convert his constituency], he is dancing dangerously close to a violation of the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, which forbids government from promoting the establishment of any religion," Bill Nigut, The Anti-Defamation League Regional Director, said.

I admit, even though it came out awkward, the message from Gov. Bentley is really one of acceptance, not separation; he makes references to the relation that HE wants to be to his audience -- a brother -- even if you are a non-believer in Jesus Christ.  Of course, HE wants you to be a brother, or a sister, and have the Holy Spirit in your heart -- but he can't make you to do anything, or believe something, you don't want to...but in any case, HE WANTS TO BE your brother all the same.

Looking at this from a glass half full point of view,  the newly elected Governor tells us, HIS hopes are that you are a believer, while he lets us know he still "wants to be your brother" anyway, even if you are not.

Now, as far as the statement coming from Bill Nigut, of the ADL, saying Bentley is "dancing dangerously close to a violation of the First Amendment..."

I say, no, not really;

for all persons, -- no matter their lot in life -- whether a student, teacher, or public servant -- have a right for the free expression of their religion at any time.

Let me be clear, the PERSON, and all of our individual rights that come with, automatically and naturally go with us -- we have every right to eat sleep breathe our religion, no matter where we go, or who we are with, for whatever purpose...unless of course, we intend to do harm...then certainly, we will have issues.

Just as the case last summer, when Ramadan was being celebrated, the local community has every right to allow for Muslims to totally upend normal football practice during the daylight hours in order to accommodate the time of fasting for Muslims, even if, crazy enough, it would directly affect the practice for others who are not Muslim -- it was a community decision -- and falls into the framework of exactly that which our founders intended and wanted to protect; in order to reflect and honor INDIVIDUAL preference and beliefs of the community, the founders protected the right for states and local communities to practice their religion(s) as the community sees fit.

For above all else, the founders believed in the basic tenet, that without religion, the government of a free people cannot be well maintained and supported.

... and likewise, because it is a free country, we do not have a national government standing over us and commanding us to believe in the same God (or acting and leading in such a way that is against God); in action, this looks like the right for atheists to NOT to have to bow their head in prayer with the rest of us who call ourselves believers -- like for instance, when congregating in the town square to inaugurate a president or a governor or a mayor -- or simply gathering to honor the victims of a tragic community shooting, leaving prayers, flowers, balloons, and holding a candlelight vigil, say, all in a makeshift memorial, in front of a local hospital, say in Tucson (or wherever else the Spirit moves us -- even if the side of the road -- a common sight here, especially on the windy back country roads) -- but they, being the atheists, do not have to pray with the rest of us.  It is their right not to do just as it is our right to do.

The First Amendment spells out "CONGRESS shall make NO law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof."  THE control, the word NO, was hung on the door of CONGRESS -- for they could not be given the power to tell the people what to believe and how; not to mention, our rights were endowed to us by our Creator, not man, or any kind of Congress.  The protection was for our own good -- because it was already well established we were a nation of people who accepted and acknowledged the importance of God in our daily life, acted by the grace and peace that comes along naturally, and already enjoying the free practice and expression thereof.

This specifically tells our federal government to butt out -- you have no business telling us what religion we will establish within our own hearts, as individuals; as long as we do no harm, we are allowed by law, to speak, sing, or bow our head; we can fast and we can celebrate; we can wear a cross, a burqa, or ashes on our forehead -- for we have the right for the FREE EXERCISE thereof.  thank you, God.

Matter of fact, there was a time when it was required for our schools to TEACH religion, morality and the importance of obtaining a semblance of knowledge in various subjects (geography, science for example).

Believing not necessarily in the same God, or the same dogma, all the founders came to the same conclusions -- that being, the essential makings of a free, civil, responsible society, allowing individuals to pursue their own happiness under a limited, selfless government, required the individual to at least be in relationship with God, creating a flow of  understanding that recognized a "fundamental system of beliefs concerning man's origin and relationship to the cosmic universe, as well as his relationship with his fellowmen" [taken from The 5000 Year Leap, by W. Cleon Skousen]

While a "standard of behavior distinguishing from right and wrong,"  in other words, our moral teachings, remained as the third essential ingredient to a long and healthy community.

So PUBLIC SCHOOLS taught these things back in the day because these things are good: religion (in a favorable light, of all beliefs) morality, and knowledge.

IN the best of times, religion holds us to a level of respect for each other; it keeps us beholden to any number of customs, more than likely born from our Christian roots, yet all the while, respective of the universal beliefs and morals shared by every religion under the sun.

A simple observation from Ezra Taft Benson, "America is great because she is good, and if America ever ceases to be good, America will cease to be great."

Now one could argue, when our PRESIDENT talks directly to his people, his base, saying "It will be up to each of you to make sure that the young people, African Americans, Latinos and women, who powered our victory in 2008 stand together once again," -- (white, not mentioned at all)

"If you help us do that -- if you help us make sure that first-time voters in 2008 make their voices heard again in November -- then together we will deliver on the promise of change and hope and prosperity for generations to come..."   

Our actual President, of the UNITED STATES of AMERICA, was not speaking to you -- if you are so unlucky not to fall within his 'target market' -- if YOU happen to be white -- and I'm especially referring to you,  honky tonk white boy, you are not my brother -- or so we would assume by what he actually said, and never making any apologies for it, if for some reason we were to categorically misconstrue his remarks -- unlike Gov. Bentley's office, who immediately followed up with a deeper understanding in hopes of uniting, not dividing.

Or how about the time Obama said something like this, "we're gonna punish our enemies..." speaking directly to Latinos, sounding like he was right off the street, in the barrio, seeking their attention to come out and vote in the mid-term elections (last fall).  Never mind religion, let's just cut right to the race.

In his own words, the POTUS was advocating to Latinos to come out to vote, to "punish our enemies."

Now of course, literally, we know words are expressed in the public arena that we really do not mean; there are times we say things, we really should have thought better; there are times we actually sound like we are advocating violence, when it is simply strategy lingo, an expression of the cause, an amplification of the campaign and keeping our sights set on the end result; and having said all that, there are times when even the Road Runner and the Coyote could make throwing down a boulder, or an anvil, look downright funny.

IN an educated, learned, civil, moral, sane society -- one that centers around our individual civic duty to do no harm to each other more often than not -- we recognize, out of the goodness of our hearts, and out of pure common sense, we say things that are not meant to be taken literally, as if condoning any violent action or outburst.  IF we harm someone, it is wrong, no matter what; while, even our words can cut like a knife.

For kicks and giggles, this idea of not taking things literally swings both ways -- as in, you know that when someone says "I love Glenn Beck"  they aren't really IN LOVE with Glenn Beck... it's just what we say... like we love ice cream or coconut cream pie, right...      Right Glenn?  You know, that if I were to say to you, 'I love you', you would know I'm not really In Love with you, right? (or maybe...) No, really, honestly, we don't truly mean what we say through and through (unless of course, we really truly mean it...what?).

luv ya.  mean it. moving on.

There has been much discussion over the political rhetoric used by both sides of the aisle, regularly, and figuratively, and most definitely, without really thinking clearly way too many times. way.

How about the time Alan Grayson said on the House floor, with poster boards for props, "I apologize to America...for not ending the holocaust sooner...republicans want you to die quickly" when arguing his position over health care.  really, Alan? can we get an amen that this man was not re-elected...

But seriously, I know we can be kinder and gentler -- but do I wish for us to change the entire political rules of debate and conversation?  Absolutely not.

Do I think, if we are reared correctly and of sound mind, that we can make responsible conclusions when hearing that certain districts, and maybe even specific people, are in the cross-hairs and the target of the opposition party?  Absolutely yes.

But Oh the fascination of what  incites violence, the vitriolic remarks notwithstanding  --

We can't use the word "nigger" -- and WELL understood that we don't, without question [unless you are black, or perhaps a rapper, but that's beside the point] -- but what we can do is label someone a racist, to their face, on camera or off, and nobody thinks anything of it?  We can discredit an entire body of tea party enthusiasts, individually or combined, as "Nazi's" and  "Racists" and nobody thinks twice.  How do you think that makes a white person feel, let alone the African-American, Latino or Asian associated in the bunch?

And haven't we gone down this road before?

If we are going to have a conversation on what in fact incites violence. let's have that talk; can we direct our attention to Hollywood for a moment -- I mean, where do we begin with that machine pumping out violent acts against women and children every day, blowing people up, using handguns, using abrasive language and condoning senseless acts of violence in every which way they possibly can.  Did you know they have a new show simple titled, "HUMAN TARGET" ?  I wonder how that got approved; where for goodness sakes is the good conscience of Hollywood, right?

Then as we mentioned a bit earlier, how about Hip Hop Music, Rap, songs that glorify and make sweet melody about someone who is about to make a hit on someone, or just finished making a hit on someone, or daydreams about the possibility in the future, to have revenge, you know what I'm saying, yo?

Going down that road then, it would be just wrong not to bring up video games -- I would think if anything might incite an act of violence, a video game nearly walks you through all the possibilities of seeing it through, with sound affects and trash talk to go along with your every move.

AS IF --
when it comes to political rhetoric --
we just don't have the strength and the common sense
to think for ourselves, and more important, do the right thing! 
yup, that's where our level of intelligence drops off --
bada bing bada boom.

We can be surrounded, with all the senses fully engaged, in an environment that eat sleeps breathes some form of a violent act through live stage, in the movies, on TV, on the freeway, even in the school yard and on the football field, and nobody stops to discuss it, make political points for it, does anything about it or thinks it is, in the least bit, to be just a wee bit offensive, if not something we should stop, or even see fit to change --

-- but oh no, get someone like Sarah Palin talking about tea party districts she wants to pick off and have for lunch and we've got a mutiny on the bounty. (Even with all proof pointing otherwise -- EVEN WHEN it comes LONG after the leftwing media and specific democratic campaigns did the EXACT same thing in 2004, and 2008 -- and even with some marking their attacks on one of their own, Gabrielle Giffords, just the same -- see G's blog last week, coupled with this from Newsmax, about the Daily Kos)

But just look at the things we choose, as a society, to pick apart... a well meaning comment that says "I WANT to be your brother."  ATTACK!  ATTACK!

To wrap things up, if we take out "nigger" as we should (respectfully agreed), then let's mutually come to an understanding to cease and desist words like "nazi" and "racist" -- if being used in the context of specifically targeting an individual, or a group thereof, carelessly, and loosely thrown around with a vengeance to attack, disparage, and ridicule without merit.  just sayin' ...for 'dems fightin' words, you know what I'm saying?  That is, without a doubt, a harmful attack, equal to that of the "N" word, if you wanna get real and get down and dirty with everybody's bad self; whether being called a nazi or a nigger, they are two "N" words that do the same thing to the heart and soul of a good, decent  man.  and really, who wants to be called a racist when your heart is in the right place?  that is just plain mean.

Maybe we are due to have our "religion, morals and knowledge" re-evaluated and brought back to life in the public schools -- let's make it open season for deep, rich discussions everywhere -- about our Creator, the meaning of life, the responsibility and duty to each other, in word and in deed, and attempt to live up to "Christina's expectations." 

That is the visual I want to hold dear -- a President reminding us to be the America a young Christina Green imagined -- without question, an idea lofty and worthy enough to call for real conversation and lively debate; wasn't everybody listening?         Punish my enemies, not -- but love thy neighbor as thyself, treat others as you would wish to be treated, honor thy mother and thy father, do no harm, oh yeah, and don't call each other names -- be nice and good and happy people, people!

bring it! bring that stuff all day long with a vengeance! 

I am not ashamed to say, I WANT each and every American to stand shoulder to shoulder as brothers and sisters - in Christ -  in Allah - in Buddha - in spirit, just because it is the right thing to do -- take your pick and have at it; either way, we will not survive as a nation of good people, doing good things, and prospering one by one until we do; surely we will falter if we become that nation -- fallen to the deep dark side of despair, distrust, distaste, and desolation -- abandoning our own principles and living without thought; we will fall from grace, like we have never seen the likes before, imprisoned within the afterthought of what once was.

and you thought it was just a meaningless, stupid, little cliche to close with...every    single    day...

Dear America,

did you know, that within the hour of the shooting in Arizona, the founder of the Daily Kos-- an online liberal hub of rantings and ravings --  Markos Moulitas said this in a quick tweet out to the entire world:

"mission accomplished, Sarah Palin"

and from Paul Krugman, without thinking first (supposedly a brilliant economist,' who quickly put two and two together...so smart):

"We don’t have proof yet that this was political, but the odds are that it was [is that Vegas odds, or your bookie in NYC?]   She’s been the target of violence before [yes, see also the Daily Kos circa 2008]. And for those wondering why a Blue Dog Democrat, the kind Republicans might be able to work with, might be a target, the answer is that she’s a Democrat who survived what was otherwise a GOP sweep in Arizona, precisely because the Republicans nominated a Tea Party activist. (Her father says that “the whole Tea Party” was her enemy.) And yes, she was on Sarah Palin’s infamous “crosshairs” list."

I left the entire web address  for the fabulous newsbusters article written out, verbatim, just because I find such beauty in it; for anyone else maybe not so much, but, please, I implore you now to go to the proof of hypocrisies raging from the left yourself, filtered through the eyes of a far better blogger than me, Noel Sheppard.

oh the irony, when only a couple years ago the Daily Kos placed a bulls-eye, a target, on the BlueDog Democrat, Gabrielle Giffords, for not being liberal enough! funny stuff.

But boy is the fur of demagoguery flying today; and people are wondering why Palin is responding with a nearly eight minute video?

She had to respond -- she was having every liberal and their mother point fingers DIRECTLY to her as the root cause of an unspeakable, unconscionable, horrific, brutal tragedy. 

"Enduring Strength" is the title of her simple plea to America -- taking a stand directly to the people in a four-minute-men fashion -- only that, duh, she isn't a man, she wasn't on a soapbox, literally, and it was more like four minutes times two.  

The thing is, sometimes we use analogy, metaphor, or symbols to convey a message -- the message to be received literally, figuratively, suggestively or emphatically -- sometimes we, dare I day, communicate using no words at all (those are usually the best kind of all...and I mean that...really...or do I?)

I caught just the first twenty minutes of GB yesterday. 
wow.

Our little Beck-meister Fuller was all about the use of imagery and symbols here in America -- a free country last I checked -- and the reactionary calls by a few dimwitted politicians who are beginning to plead their case to control what words, symbols blah blah blah is permissible to use in society today, and moreover, considering actually banning some! Yes, and let's edit the classics and burn books too...
One of my favorite moments was when he highlighted the tank rising out of the corner of some unknown website...only to discover it was promoting a show called "Cupcake Wars," oh the brutality. But let me stop there before I digress into miracles of butter cream...

Of course, again, the DNC -- the huge liberal machine back behind the entire democratic party -- used bulls-eyes on targeted troubled states just two years ago and nobody seemed to be too bothered.  funny.

While the political pundits, journalists, and political operatives and officials, have resoundingly agreed -- politics has used the language of war for centuries, when up against the opposition, to win in the electoral battle.  It's the nature of the political beast.

What I find amusing -- not that that matters to anyone else but me -- is that the more the left seems to flail and fight, but unarmed with the real tools to meet up with debate, tools that rely on sound argument, tied together by the merits of discovery, facts and truths, the more they unabashedly descend into dirty politics, bringing in the mud-slinging, piling on the name calling, and blanketing the airwaves with diversions...while clinging to the irreverent ramblings of their ruler, Saul Alinsky and what's become a liberal  manifesto, Rules for Radicals, doing everything in their power to simply steer away from crafting good policy along side their political counterparts, happy to speak of anything but...

Good thing the general public can see right through it:  the recent poll, quantifying the opinion of 57% of the people, believe that the harsh political rhetoric (i.e. Palin's crosshairs) did NOT add to the makings of the Arizona tragedy (while 32% -- assuming they are the subscribers of NY Times, the Daily Kos and the like -- do...but forgive me if I jump to any conclusions).
And then there is our Secretary of State, Hillary, saying "Look, we have extremists in my country [immediately tagging the massacre politically motivated]... uh...A wonderful, incredibly brave young woman,  congressmember, Congresswoman Giffords was just shot in our country. We have the same kinds of problems. So rather than standing off from each other, we should work to try to prevent the extremists anywhere from being able to commit violence."

Placing a lone kook into the same, equal stature of an entire nation of Islamic Extremists, and those who wreak havoc on their own people, and other nations, every single fricken day -- who attack the innocent, every single fricken day, with suicide bombers...masterminding... all in the name of Allah... making purposeful, homicidal attacks upon the U.S. embassies, churches, synagogues and even mosques... nothing is off limits... from hotels, government offices, airplanes, subway systems, restaurants, the town square -- advocating jihad, inciting violence, encouraging new followers to join their efforts, and championed by  Muslim Extremist leadership like Anwar Al-awaki, and Usama Bin Laden...

right.  we have them too.  

But last I checked, the only one that fits this description was Nadal Malik Hassan.  Where were the liberals screaming out for justice, looking upon it as the same kind of thing as Islamic terrorism, then?

Loughner, although his actions may have been highly extreme, is not a comparison of apples to apples;  the ignorance of a well-learned and respected secretary of state is astounding and embarrassing.

And no, Hillary, we are NOT the middle east -- extremism is NOT an every day American, natural occurrence and daily operative -- we do NOT have "the same kinds of problems"  -- it doesn't happen all the time, as you so casually profess on the other side of the world, you might as well be on the other side of the moon (oooh tingle, sliding in one of my favorite rachel quotes of all time).
Of course, if CAIR has their way over the next few years, we just might be on our way.

One of the definitions of being a Liberal is "Having, expressing, or following views or policies that favor the freedom of individuals to act or express themselves in a manner of their own choosing...tolerant of the ideas or behavior of others..."  

hmmmmm

the tolerance of anything but an alternative political view and ideology, then you become the target of just pure evil.

and what a concept, liberalism, for weren't the actions of a madman simply the free expression of his own choosing.  just sayin'

The issue liberals seem to have living along side the rule of law, is that they seem to draw the line in the sand where they seem fit (and not respective of the Law and our Constitution), and namely, perfecting their own law by hypocrisy; to rule, according to how -- fill in the blank -- might work into their agenda, swing in their favor, in order to fundamentally change America. Most of the federal government we have today is an adulterated version of our founder's first intention -- a travesty of our checks and balances, a condemnation of our foundation.
The only way progressive policy  works is to manufacture 'an organic' stirring of the masses, through cause and affect, never letting a crisis go to waste, to bring about an uprising from the bottom, through S'linsky tactics of ridicule and class warfare, staging reasons to promote social justice for all, in a workers of the world unite kind of fashion, and all the while, pitting one political philosophy up against another -- as if by some kind of random natural combustion. right.

The Arizona tragedy personifies just that.

In my view, it would be an understatement to say that tonight is a turning point for both the country, and certainly, this administration; the president will speak at the memorial of our fallen fellow Americans in Tucson.  The eyes of the world, left and right and all those in-between, will be watching -- even though the business of politics has no place to lend an ear; the Commander-in-Chief, the Leader of the Free World, will speak to us, all of us, both the left and the right, yes, but hopefully, focusing on those of us who simply say 'who cares' today, in this moment -- in this moment, we come together, and not further apart.

I would like to hear him denounce the politicizing of a massacre to all of the Krugman's of the world -- I just don't think he'll do it.

The thing is, I just hope he remembers that he stands as a dramatic symbol (not a target! for anyone who might misconstrue) of all Americans tonight  -- may he hit just the right mark, capture the right feeling, and plum annihilate any room for doubt.

Dear America,

happy 1-11-11 day


so, in the beginning, our founders gathered together to make a republic, not a democracy, and follow the path of Nature's Law invoked and prescribed by the leading thinkers of the day, past and present, to create a more perfect union based entirely upon the Rule of Law, not man.

Why was "man" out of the equation, we wonder?  Because "man" was, and is, and forever more, imperfect; man is sometimes-- dare I say, many times -- wrong.


Or worse, sometimes man is evil.


Then again, sometimes man is just plum stupid... greedy, inconsiderate, self-serving, and rude...or man can be just plain bad...while we're at it, man is, quite often I might add, simply thoughtless,  soul-less and heartless... and if we go down that road, let's just narrow it down to Dante's Seven Deadly Sins, or is it God's -- either way, we all know what they are, right ...

And if man doesn't ever fall in the "really bad" category,  he is certainly deceptive, manipulative, and egotistical whenever it serves him best, and especially when it is a matter of gaining and controlling the general public opinion, persuasion, or sway.

According to W. Cleon Skousen, as an individual, John Adams was not very popular -- but what the people saw in Adams, was a man they could trust, without any further thought, doubt, or concern.  It was Adams who wrote this little tidbit, some time following his presidency:

"I do not curse the day when I engaged in public affairs...I cannot repent any thing I ever did conscientiously and from a sense of duty.  I never engaged in public affairs for my own interest, pleasure, envy, jealousy, avarice, or ambition, or even the desire of fame.  IF any of these had been my motive, my conduct would have been very different.  In every considerable transaction of my public life, I have invariably acted according to my best judgment, and I can look up to God for the sincerity of my intentions."


And it was Adams, who often reminded his fellow statesmen, this:

"Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people.  It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other."

And coming from another man and founder, Samuel Adams, he wrote:

"The sum of all is, if we would most truly  enjoy the gift of Heaven, let us become a virtuous people; then shall we both deserve and enjoy it.  While, on the other hand, if we are universally vicious and debauched in our manners, though the form of our Constitution carries the face of the most exalted freedom, we shall in reality be the most abject slaves..."

"But neither the wisest constitution nor the wisest laws will secure the liberty and happiness of a people whose manners are universally corrupt.  He therefore is the truest friend to the liberty of his country who tries the most to promote its virtue, and who, so far as his power and influence extend, will not suffer a man to be chosen into any office of power and trust who is not a wise and virtuous man."

And here's one more, from James Madison:

"If man were angels, no government would be necessary.  If angels were to govern men, neither external nor internal controls on government would be necessary."

Creating a nation that would encourage and develop civic virtue, in hopes of continually bestowing upon the public a flood of  upstanding political leaders, began with the moral and civic duty to create a good people from the start; sound principles, values, and virtues was not political lip-service, it was true blue American public service, from the heart, from the right place, beginning with man's first intention.

Our problems of the day, 
streaming live and in a chorus of continuous, voracious debate, 
centering upon the political discourse of the moment, 

throwing barbs and jabs at individuals 
(people like Palin, Bachman, Limbaugh, Beck...) -- 

even entire groups of people (republicans, tea party, conservatives..) -- 

through outright character assassination and  rabid vitriol  -- 

taking turns taking pot shots --

pow, pow, pow pow pow
and simply showering the mainstream media with untruths 
and linking something so unthinkable 
to the entire right side of the political spectrum 
is reprehensible,
disgusting
and 
wrong.

That is man, acting at his worst, all the way around.

And now, to have politicians, wondering how they will continue to serve the public safely, heighten the debate on gun control, or even have the audacity, at a time when we are broke, to give a second thought to increasing the budget for congressional security -- and to top it off, act as if the rhetoric has always been one-sided, as if the Pelosi's, Reid's, Weiner's or Grayson's are angels...even Obama himself has been hopped up on using rhetoric for political gains.  Are you kidding me?

And I guess MSNBC only spins a weave of proverbs and grace.

Please don't misconstrue -- it is essential, for everyone's well being, to feel free to live and work and interact in a safe, secure environment.  No question.  Congress is no exception to the rule, no doubt about it.

The thing is, if you really think about it, what happened last Saturday could happen again tomorrow; there is nothing keeping something like that from happening every day of the week actually from here on out, from here to kingdom come.

The only thing that truly keeps that from happening, is living in a country that not only encourages our people to be of kind heart, to take care of one another, to honor our mother and father, and treat our neighbors as ourselves, but one that TEACHES it, RESPECTS it, and above all, EMBODIES it through and through;  the founders gave us principles and values to follow for a reason, for they recognized the first truth about man and built an entire nation from it, respective of the very imperfect nature of the beast that we are.

Guns don't kill people; people kill people.

A civil, compassionate, honorable society is made in America only by creating, and teaching, to be of good nature, to be good people; the duty begins at first breath, and ends at our last, for each and every one of us who share this nation, let alone the entire world.

Given that "the shooter" was a registered Independent, I am most certain, his horrific actions, do not speak of the nature of the entire body of independents.

But wonder how one person can make a difference no more -- for isn't  it painfully obvious, and tragically true, in this moment; how an unconscionable act, by one person no less, can not only wreak havoc and destroy the lives of 20 innocent people, but also trigger an endless supply of careless, knee-jerk responses that in turn discredit friends, neighbors, countrymen and women of  good heart -- all of us who lean just right of center who can feel it, one by one.  throw a little more salt on our wounds why don't you.

All Americans --  feel real emotional pain -- and hold a heavy, heavy heart -- with what happened last Saturday; what happened does not usually happen, for by and large, we try to be of sound mind and body and act accordingly.

Tragically, the only person we can point to, is to the one crazy person who did it, Jared; who, for all intents and purposes, hindsight being what it is, showed all the signs he needed a little help; at twenty-two, Jared he is a man, who knowingly set out, in public, with a semi-automatic weapon to do harm -- and as we know now, he intended to do harm upon the life of Gabrielle Giffords and anyone else who got in his way -- and believed, he, himself, would not live to deal with the aftermath.  He said his good-byes.

Look, one bad apple should not spoil it for the whole bunch, that's all I'm saying right now; this kind of regulation and continuous taking away of the freedoms and civil liberties of a good people is not the answer; for then, Sam Adams would be absolutely right on target in a people becoming 'abject slaves.'

Talk about a moving target, we seem to be missing the point; good people in, good people out.  wax on, wax off.  it is a tedious drill, but over time, it truly works.

Before I close, a few noteworthy individuals seem to stand out, reacting with eloquence and grace and compassion is Governor Jan Brewer; if you were able to catch her State of the State address you know what I am talking about -- of course, it wasn't a S of S address at all...understandably, that will be saved for another day.  Her remarks were beautiful, thoughtful, unwavering in her commitment to hold the candle of fearless leader, even after being thrust into a state of utter devastation and loss.

Upon Gov. Brewer's lead, the entire legislative body gave a standing ovation to Daniel Hernandez, an intern of only one week for Giffords local congressional offices, who selflessly acted without thinking, and quickly came to her aid in the seconds after being struck by gunfire; he held her up, applied pressure to her wound, and spoke to her,  calmly encouraging her to hold on while awaiting paramedics; as Gov. Brewer pointed out, he probably saved her life, without thinking of his own...perhaps another Adams in our midst.

America, in actions and in our words, let us do no harm -- today and always.
