It's an Open Response to a Becoming Michelle O Thing

Dear America,

"Donald Trump,
with his loud and reckless
innuendos,
was putting my family's safety
at risk.
And for this
I'd never forgive him."

and for this, she needs to get her facts straight.

Who started the questioning of the birth certificate, Michelle?

Perhaps not Hillary, herself -- but supporters of the Hillary Clinton campaign circulated an email of innuendo and powerful suggestion and reckless accounts that questioned the legitimacy of Barack Obama's real place of birth.  Trump only picked up the ball and ran with it for a wee bit...because, if you all haven't noticed, he kinda likes to stir the pot every now and again.  It's sport.

But the truth of the matter is -- if it weren't for the bold move of a democratic operative at the time, circa August 2008, a Phil Berg.... the guy who actually filed a lawsuit questioning the multiple citizenships of Barack Obama -- dare I say, Trump would never have known or had the propaganda to question anything.  So blame Phil; blame the supporters of Hillary Clinton and their anonymously circulated letter exposing the controversy; just don't blame Trump. (just wiki Phil and see what you see...)

"I've never been a fan of politics,
and my experience
 over the last ten years
has done little to change that,"
she writes
 according to the Post.
"I continue to be
put off by the nastiness."

indeed, indeed

Remember Bill Clinton -- the other "misogynist," of recent history who made it to the White House? Do you all even remember when he said this....while stumping for his wife...when attempting to woo Ted Kennedy over:  "A few years ago, this guy would have been carrying our bags."  (referring to your husband, Michelle)  yikes.

Talk about a nasty back and forth between you'all...

and for this...I believe, that the four of you have never quite fully recovered, unless it's for show.

So to forgive or to not forgive of things imagined and of things anchored in reality ---  it's all about one's perspective, I guess:

Trump's response to how Michelle, My Bell, can never forgive Trump for putting her family in danger...even though the Clinton campaign clearly choreographed the controversy from it's conception, under the guise of the end will justify the means (Fifty Shades of Alinsky, right)  --
“She got paid a lot of money to write a book, and they always insist that you come up with controversy,” Trump told reporters at the White House before departing for Paris. “Well, I’ll give you a little controversy back. I’ll never forgive [President Obama] for what he did to our United States military by not funding it properly. It was depleted.

indeed, indeed

and for this -- I need to scroll back up to where I placed misogynist in quotes, for just a moment.

I've said this before, and I'll probably say it again-- but throwing around the word misogynist to describe a guy who actually loves women so much, that he assaults them with his loud and reckless, or his soft and southern, innuendo, his hands, his whatever, is a misuse -- in my view -- of the true meaning behind word, the characterization.  Is it a hatred of women, at the root cause of their flamboyance -- the overreach, so to speak -- of a women's private space, and perhaps even her privates?  Is it?

I just don't understand why this word is so freely thrown around like a cheap trick to describe Trump -- but not Bill? But I digress.
Of Trump, she adds her “body buzzed with fury” after hearing the hot-mic tape in which he bragged about grabbing women. “It was an expression of hatred that had generally been kept out of polite company, but still lived in the marrow of our supposedly enlightened society — alive and accepted enough that someone like Donald Trump could afford to be cavalier about it.” She tried to block out his election.

and for this, Michelle, in the book, expands upon her fury and frustrations,  questioning the intelligence of women choosing a misogynist over Hillary -- while totally dismissing the ideological differences that come between us women.

How frightfully ignorant; shameful, really.  It's a wonder how this rather oppressive liberal expectation --  political mandate, really -- to vote according to one's genitalia or the color of our skin, has any street cred left at all these days; the suffragettes of yesteryear must be rolling in their graves...like, we fought for women's voting rights for this?  Shame on you, Michelle, shame on you.

Michelle ...before including the word misogynist to describe President Trump, you may want to look at the facts (again)...Here's a great place to start; and ya' just gotta love the irony....as these facts come courtesy from a place called The Hill, here.

and for this, dare I add, that Trump not only adores women (unless he doesn't like you....teehee), he hires them!  And hires more than any other White House in American history, like, ever!  Unfortunately, for you lefty's, that is just an inconvenient truth.

Thing is, Michelle -- let's look at the latest picture of reality....

Yes, there are  some crazies...
And what about these crazies....
 and then there's this...

yeah, this girl is put off by the kinds of nastiness infringing upon the peace and security of community and family, too.

Can't we all get along?

Not sure, really; this girl isn't seeing much hope.

The nastiness of politics is as old as the nastiness of prostitution, as old as the nastiness of old men, as old as the nastiness of a bitter old woman, as old as the nastiness of humankind, way back when and now. [And just as a point of interest, Newt didn't invent political nastiness, either; perhaps Saul Alinsky, and the movement back behind Rules for Radicals, may deserve that credit; for the modern day display of loud and reckless and nasty political partisanship has only escalated, beginning with the community organizing from the sixties and seventies.]

No matter.
Our capacity to love and hate is all the same, really; as we simply, madly, deeply, all get around in our pursuit of happiness on any given day, it gets down to our individual choices that make manifest our world, large and small.  The outcome of each of our individual choices effects us personally, at home, and when combined, in the collective, as a nation.

We all walk the line of good and evil with every little thing life brings; and naturally, with the way the universe works -- under the law of attraction --  we create the environment, the atmosphere, the culture of our time in LIVE FEED all the live long day; everywhere and everything we put our minds, every intention and every thought and every word and every deed  -- left, right, front and center, high and low -- makes our present moment, for better or worse.  For everything begins with a thought; making thoughts as powerful as the president of the United States.

Hate to break it to you, Michelle and all, but the America we see and experience today -- is not entirely Trump's fault.

Which goes to explain the real fraud happening under our feet, exposing just how powerful the left leaning media truly is -- for it is the mainstream media who dishonestly decides and mischievously aligns with what to say and what to print, not only against this republican, right-wing, Trump Administration, but against the actual good that is going on in America, as a whole, today; thereby, reducing mainstream media to nothing more than a 24/7 propaganda stream.

It must be nice to be Michelle, right about now.  Her BECOMING, becomes her, because the media loves her, Hollywood adores her, and half of the American men and women in this country seem to worship her. [I think she's cute.]  She can say or do no wrong, and is perfect in every way.

And speaking of becoming...you would think our current First Lady, Melania, would gain the same respect, but noooooo; all she gets, is a constant stream of hate. In a word, that is some kind of nastiness.  ugh.

and for this, I can't end the day on this note.

Did you all happen to see the story about the emu and the donkey?

How unlikely are these two to not only co-exist, peacefully, but to fall in love....so sweet!

It almost carries enough power to give the American people a little hope, doesn't it?

live, love, laugh....indeed

Make it a Good Day, G

It's a Shaken and Stirred Thing

Dear America,

welcome to the "ode to the art of the feign" day

suspect on the bottom:  Michelle O...with excerpts swiped from The Globe and Mail --

“I can’t stop thinking about this. It has shaken to me to my core in a way that I couldn’t have predicted,” the first lady said. “So while I would love nothing more than pretend that this isn’t happening and come out here and do my normal campaign speech, it would be dishonest and disingenuous to just move onto the next thing like this was all a bad dream. This is not something we can ignore.”
Mrs. Obama said the comments made by Trump are part of a long history of demeaning women.
“We have a candidate for president of the United States who over the course of his lifetime, over the course of this campaign, has said things about women that are shocking, so demeaning,” she said. “I simply will not repeat anything here today. Last week, we actually saw this candidate bragging about sexually assaulting women. I can’t believe I’m saying that, a candidate for president of the United States bragged about sexually assaulting women.”
Mrs. Obama went onto say the comments were forcing women to recollect painful memories of when they were harassed in their offices or sexually assaulted.
“The truth is it hurts. It hurts,” she said.

so let's head back to earlier in the week when little old gthang mentioned RAP, k...

Little Miss Moochelle MyBelle Obama is a hypocrite, with emphasis on the hips.

SHE and HER husband have best friends -- many, I'm sure; but two of them happen to be JAY Z and Beyonce, k?   and they sing things...things like this:

13. "Now my mascara running, red lipstick smudged/ Yeah, he's so horny he wants to f---/ He popped all my buttons and he ripped my blouse/ He Monica Lewinsky-ed all on my gown/ Oh Daddy, Daddy, he didn't bring the towel/ Oh baby, baby, we better slow it down"   (from Beyonce)

5) “You ain’t no better because you don’t be f*cking rappers / You only f*ck with actors / You’re still getting f*cked backwards” – Jay Z
"One of the main conceits of misogyny is that getting f*cked means you are a lesser being, and Jay Z epitomizes that sentiment here."  [noted quote, from here @Elitedaily]

And that,  my friends, is called a two-fer ...or is it more a menage en trois--- Beyonce highlights an Oval Office affair with the former President Bill Clinton, while glorifying a raunchy sexual escapade...while her husband sings about using women in such a way -- oh, how did Michelle put it -- it's just so shocking!  So demeaning to women, you know...shaken me to the core.

Sure, it's different when we make art out of sexual promiscuity and lewd acts; and never you mind how THAT SAME Bill Clinton was voted into every office of government, beginning in the seventies and starting in Arkansas --  and has had on the record numerous "encounters" with women, that include, but are not limited to: rape, sexual assault, long term and short term affairs.  Clinton was elected with a history of abuse!  With HILLARY's full support!  [Just don't embarrass me, she said...]

And Michelle just loves Bill and Hill, throwing her full support HER direction.

He's paid for abortions, he's paid off Paula Jones [850 grand! -- this link goes way back to let's party like it's 1999, too]...sure, no wonder... the Clinton's may very well have been broke when they left the presidency, after having to pay big time for legal defense and cover-ups and just the all around handling and fondling of  many many things.

Then there is THIS more eloquent response, taken from Jeffrey Lord, The American Spectator. [As good as this piece is, it left out an entire chapter of what happened @Chappaquiddick, emphasis on dick.  It's what we call a situation where the dick in question actually left a girl to die in a river bed after a party...Oh, but it is so wonderful having his endorsement, huh, Michelle]

SO Michelle is supporting Hillary now -- even though HILLARY has enabled the sexual predator she has been married to for forever...lied for him, called the women names and even turned blame back on the women in question, over and over and over again -- as if emotionally raping the women at every turn (kinda like that Jay Z song, but different).  And Michelle just loved Ted Kennedy -- just so grateful for his endorsement back in 2008.  Oh, that was just worthy of repeating it, is all.

Really, Michelle?  Is that seriously how you want to spin all of this, Michelle?
What you say shakes me to my core.

So now that we've covered the bottom rung, let's go to the suspect on top, shall we?

HILLARY CLINTON HERself.

Katie Pavlich, @Townhall published this over two years ago!  HELLO!  It's a legacy Hillary seems to stand by, and even feign to repeat if need be;  and yet -- there she is -- speaking out of both sides of her mouth like a true politician.  She's so dirty.

What difference at this point does it make, Hillary, if, in fact, Trump's behavior might be seen  as being in the same "sexual predator" category as your dear Bill (what is it you call him?...right, c&%$ sucker).  Why you act like you are so upset, girl?

Thing is, it's not about Bill anymore; it's about HER.

And HER --  HiLIARy  -- has NO CREDIBILITY.  None. It's hilarious for anyone to believe she does.

She cannot have it both ways.  Liberals and Progressives cannot have it both ways.

And actually -- being of the female persuasion, myself -- this girl believes the optics are just as damaging for HER -- if not more so!  While this business of feigning this thing called self-righteous indignation against the sexual predator, allegedly in Trump, is absurd; it's simply a self-serving indulgence that she does not have nor deserve.

Any speck of integrity surviving HER history standing by HER man, leaves HER with no legs...no hips....no tits...and no ass -- just a phony smile from ear to ear.   Wait a minute.  Correction -- maybe we can let her keep the ass all to HERself, if that could ever happen.

If Hillary really wanted to be a role model, pioneering a new world for women -- she would have walked away from Bill a long time ago; but she clearly decided to use Bill for political expediency and perks that would enable her own ambitions.   And seeing HERself as the first woman on the ticket for president is worth every disparaging remark she ever made about Juanita, Paula, Gennifer, Monica... it all worked out, right.

And gosh, just listen to me; and after all the pleasant things I said yesterday, too...what a shame.

It's just that this day finds me so pissed at the double standards that continue to wreak havoc, if not fuck republicans at every turn.  SICK OF IT!  Hear that, Michelle, Hill?

In a perfect world -- this girl would like us all to get along, play by the same rules, do the right thing, be nice, treat ALL people with respect, yaddi yada yada.  Indeed.   There IS something to be said for the Golden Rules; and the best part about them, is that they are an equal opportunity, cultural phenomenon of guidelines and suggestions of behavior that have truly worked...when we use them!

I woke up this morning wishing the presidential campaign was back on topic and discussing the bounty of bigger fish to fuck and fry.  And on that note, happy friday.

Make it a Good Day, G

[which reminds me... we have yet to talk about the slander against Catholics and Evangelicals coming out of the Clinton campfire...maybe some other time...But you know what they say, where there is smoke, look for the mirror on the ceiling.]

It's a Charmed Life Thing

Dear America,

hi.
really don't like being absent for no apparent reason...in reference to the slow start of this week...as in all of a sudden it's Tuesday.

Seems my life is calling for a little extra nursing these days...what with back issues, hindering my ability to leap tall buildings in a single bounce --- what with the unconventional side of my life winning over the traditional, more settling down side -- what with the weight of the world wishing for Michelle Obama to do something about the extra fat in Washington instead of destroying bake sale futures in Anytown, USA.

Nurse?  Nurse?  Nurse?

Bonkers, you might say Kate and I have something in common -- aside from the fact that she's a princess, just had a fairy tale wedding, and is expecting her first heir in line for the throne -- she is expected to be in the hospital for a few weeks, nursing an unusually difficult bout of morning sickness.   Poor girl.   Can you just imagine it?  Whether having a staff wait on you in a castle or maternity ward, what's not to love?

For the common girl, when life gives us lemons, we do things like hi-light our hair...no, really, lemons and sunshine truly works; that's just homegrown California girl one-oh-one.  But in the dead of winter -- aka partly cloudy skies averaging 68 degrees -- circumstances call for more desperate measures, like getting it out of a box.  Ta da!

Of course the nursing bit seems to be where Kate and I break from our little mother realities, for as a full-time mama and in the business of being a part-time nanny, not to mention the two boys just waiting in the wings when the blended family sets sail --  my life is less princess and more old women in the shoe, in comparison.  All over the place doesn't come close to describing the whirlwind of energies competing for my loving care whether it's for someone borrowed, something blue, or something of my own making...while somewhere in the mix the time must be made for me.

Nurse?

Bartender?

Then there was this bit of advice, included in my horoscope over the last couple of days:  "...there will not be any type of follow-thru communication...that phone call or email is not going to make its way to you today...so do yourself a favor and focus on other things that you can do something about."

Translation: color your hair...make time for a nap...cook! and make a yummy dinner that makes your heart sing.

For your blogging enjoyment, let me add a wee bit of perspective from out of the mouth of my little peach:

"when I grown up,
I'm not gonna have kids, I'm gonna have condos
all over the world."

...just a random thought, blurted from high atop the bluffs at Torrey Pines in tandem with the hang gliders.  wonder if there was any connection?  ...to think, we were having such a great day, too...

So in other news in Southern California -- one of the busiest ports in the nation is shut down.  The Long Shoremen are supporting their local clerical union, currently striking for a better package.  As things stand, they are enjoying a wage and benefit package totaling 165 grand.  They want a package worth 195 grand, including ELEVEN weeks of vacation.

So let me run through this again -- the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach have been brought to a standstill, losing a BILLION dollars a day in production and commercial activity, until such time that the form-fillers and paper-ushers get nearly 200 THOUSAND dollars in wages and benefits approved.

No, we can't just make this up like the princess and the pea, read more here.

Noted in another article we get this grievance:

"Among the issues in the strike is the loss of clerical jobs due to outsourcing. The executive director of the Port recently claimed that they are losing their 'competitive advantage,' pointing to the diversion of ships to Mexican ports. The Obama administration’s response to 'outsourcing' has been its plan for 'insourcing,' which amounts to the reduction of US wages to the level of Chinese or Mexican workers."   [Say what? I didn't vote for that...pretending to be part of the 51% who did...]

Perhaps we are getting to a "loss of clerical jobs due to outsourcing" because nobody in their right mind can continue paying paper-pushers a wage and benefit package equal to the average business manager or CEO.

We're on like the ninth day, by the way.

And people wonder about the fiscal health of the state California?  Don't strain yourselves, let me help you out:  we are cuckoo for cocoa-puffs out here.

And on that note, on the docket for the rest of my day:

the chamber maid will pick out my clothes and style my freshly hi-lighted bouffant.   Staff will serve cucumber sandwiches, salmon pate canapes, and huckleberry tarts, finished with a plate of grandma's toffee.  Oh right, with tea, Earl Grey with cream and sugar to be exact.  I'm gonna eat and drink and be merry all by myself.  It's gonna be great.

Not to be confused with my real life....

A healthy package complete with an afternoon overseeing a seven year old do her second grade homework, taking the older sister to soccer, and returning home to feed my own baby bird before allowing the rest of the evening to unfold as it will -- and most likely ending somewhere around midnight when the daily grind goes by way of the port of long beach and comes to a screeching halt,  finding itself nip/tucked for another night.   I wouldn't trade it for the world!

[note to self: check  for peas]

while this ...seems to be just the beginning of a week (albeit starting on a Tuesday)  more focused on the things we can do something about and quite possibly finding ourselves totally mesmerized upon living the charmed life in America.     Stay tuned my little rump-a-pum-chums.

Make it a Good Day,  G

did you catch wish number seven?

It's a Leftist Dressed Up as a Centrist Thing

Dear America,

so yesterday, Neal Cavuto was interviewing the former governor of New Mexico, Bill Richardson, when they took part of an exchange characterizing a deeply rooted misconception about the current president.  Bill claimed Obama is a centrist; to which Neal replied something to the effect of, 'well, if he's a centrist, I'm Jack LaLanne'.  classic Neal ...

...and isn't it just amazing how intelligent people can still get Obama entirely wrong.  And on that note, Michelle's speech from last night makes a leftist president seem downright all-American. [I must say -- she looked beautiful! and performed an outstanding speech.]

But without any further adieu, let's begin with highlights of moments of pure bull being dished out by the bull-shull:

"Like so many American families, our families weren't asking for much.

They didn't begrudge anyone else's success or care that others had much more than they did...in fact, they admired it.

They simply believed in that fundamental American promise that, even if you don't start out with much, if you work hard and do what you're supposed to do, then you should be able to build a decent life for yourself and an even better life for your kids and grandkids..."
"...We learned about dignity and decency – that how hard you work matters more than how much you make…that helping others means more than just getting ahead yourself.

We learned about honesty and integrity – that the truth matters…that you don't take shortcuts or play by your own set of rules…and success doesn't count unless you earn it fair and square."
wow.  just listen to her!  Has she not paid attention to her own husband's narrative against the rich, and specifically angling against Romney?  "Success doesn't count unless you earn it fair and square."  Exactly.  So what the hell, Michelle?   Your party seems stuck on playing a broken record claiming that the rich must pay even more for those who don't DO, for those who don't 'earn it fair and square' as you heard it told to you.  Nice try.   And just what admiration of other people's success do you speak of?  Just Oprah's?

With moments of pure honesty:

"Well, today, after so many struggles and triumphs and moments that have tested my husband in ways I never could have imagined, I have seen firsthand that being president doesn't change who you are – it reveals who you are."   indeed.

Back to moments of pure bull:

"But at the end of the day, when it comes time to make that decision, as President, all you have to guide you are your values, and your vision, and the life experiences that make you who you are.

So when it comes to rebuilding our economy, Barack is thinking about folks like my dad and like his grandmother. He's thinking about the pride that comes from a hard day's work"
C'mon!

Back to some honesty:

"When it comes to the health of our families, Barack refused to listen to all those folks who told him to leave health reform for another day, another president."

["refused to listen" -- got that right -- especially after the fact, when 66% of the American people have decided from their life experiences that they want the 'health care reform bill' totally repealed or replaced.]

then quickly back to bull:

"He didn't care whether it was the easy thing to do politically – that's not how he was raised – he cared that it was the right thing to do."
Everything is political for this president.  Absolutely everything.

back to a wee bit of honesty:

"He did it because he believes that here in America, our grandparents should be able to afford their medicine…our kids should be able to see a doctor when they're sick…and no one in this country should ever go broke because of an accident or illness."

yaddi yaddi yadda -- back to a flash of bull:

"So in the end, for Barack, these issues aren't political – they're personal."
Then  she made an absolute and honest admission:

"Barack knows the American Dream because he's lived it… "

And then immediately shifting the focus on government, she makes it perfectly clear that the State knows better of how to distribute the wealth and further opportunity for all:

"And he believes that when you've worked hard, and done well, and walked through that doorway of opportunity…you do not slam it shut behind you…you reach back, and you give other folks the same chances that helped you succeed..."

"...So when people ask me whether being in the White House has changed my husband, I can honestly say that when it comes to his character, and his convictions, and his heart, Barack Obama is still the same man I fell in love with all those years ago"

indeed indeed.  At least she is being honest, right.

Warning:  long string of bull coming on strong:

"I love that we can trust Barack to do what he says he's going to do, even when it's hard – especially when it's hard.     [like he did when he said he would go "line by line and veto big government spending, cut the deficit in half before the end of his first term, and reduce the national debt, and focus on energy independence with an "all of the above" policy, oh and close Gitmo...just to name five things]

I love that for Barack, there is no such thing as "us" and "them" – he doesn't care whether you're a Democrat, a Republican, or none of the above…he knows that we all love our country…and he's always ready to listen to good ideas…he's always looking for the very best in everyone he meets.

And I love that even in the toughest moments, when we're all sweating it – when we're worried that the bill won't pass, and it seems like all is lost – Barack never lets himself get distracted by the chatter and the noise."

that's a good one -- "no such thing as 'us' or 'them' -- he doesn't care whether you're a Democrat or a Republican...."   Are you kidding me?  This president has made it the center piece of his platform to ridicule the opinion and ideals of the other side; his vice president claims the other side wants to put black people back in chains....unfukeenbelievable really, excuse my french.

and that bit about Barack "never lets himself get distracted by chatter and the noise."  seriously?  This guy pays attention to every word uttered about him, his policies, the number of times he plays golf, to even the White House beer recipe.  How about this article from The New York Times...a powerful expose about our president's competitive spirit....

but never mind, let's get back to Michelle's  honest assessment of things:

"And he reminds me that we are playing a long game here…and that change is hard, and change is slow, and it never happens all at once.

But eventually we get there, we always do."

[little nudge here, little nudge there...God help us; again, at the risk of repeating myself, at least she is being honest with us.]

All pure warm up for a big bull-shull of a finish:

"Because today, I know from experience that if I truly want to leave a better world for my daughters, and all our sons and daughters…if we want to give all our children a foundation for their dreams and opportunities worthy of their promise…if we want to give them that sense of limitless possibility – that belief that here in America, there is always something better out there if you're willing to work for it…then we must work like never before…and we must once again come together and stand together for the man we can trust to keep moving this great country forward…my husband, our President, President Barack Obama."

Why is this considered bull, pray tell?  -- because she said THIS last time around:

The goal for this administration is full-on FUNDAMENTAL TRANSFORMATION.  The left and right speak in two entirely different languages.   Is he a centrist?  Not even close.

To read the entire piece of propaganda, go here.

For the last word on Hope and Change, take two, she says:

"Thank you, God bless you, and God bless America."

Which is funny, given that the Democratic Party Platform removes any mention of the word God.

And totally unrelated:  how about that fair and balanced coverage by the mainstream media of both conventions....let's not even go there, for it's like comparing apples and oranges, red and blue, elephants and donkeys.

Can't wait for Biden.

Make it a Good Day, G

There is just so much going on right now; hard to cover it all.

But this is fascinating:  The president gives himself an "incomplete" on the economy.  I guess because he has yet to destroy the dollar.  But how stunning is he -- after monetary easing by the Fed, after debt ceiling increases, after adding a new expensive entitlement for health care, after bailing out the car industry, after 'investing' nearly a trillion dollars in a stimulus package for shovel-ready jobs, after 'investing' in green energy, after regulating Wall Street, after promoting the Occupiers, after an unemployment rate of over 8% nearly his entire first term, after cash-for-clunkers, after not sticking to his list of promises to cut government waste and fraud and cut deficit by half -- he can't even make a fair assessment of what he has done to date.

IF you have more time:  here is the transcript from his acceptance speech last time around.
Here's one good line:  "If you don't have a record to run on, then you paint your opponent as someone people should run from. You make a big election about small things."

Dear America,

Substance over style.

This is what we crave today; and it will be this precise spirit that guides us, come November 2; bells and whistles, backdrops and props, have not a chance in hell to penetrate through the core belief -- we seek reform and revival of our founding principles.  Not for a day, not for a week, not for just until super Tuesday, but for forever and a day...for we are changed.  We've been there, done that. Enough already.

Gullibility, gone; ; no longer will we simply assume those we send to Washington have our best interests at heart.  Special interests, Unions, class warfare, deficit spending, national debt, social security, medicare, health care, cap and trade, ganging up on small business -- big business -- any business that creates real jobs, mortgage fraud, unfunded liabilities, unfunded pensions, apologizing for America, ridiculing those who simply think differently, rash moratoriums, cutting military tribunals to oversee terrorist trials, celebratory mosques built anywhere, dividing Americans through rhetoric and false racial accusations, fighting term limits in congress, obscene spending within congressional offices -- through excessive staffing, overhead, travel, private jets to petty cash, ALL of it, gone.

What we crave, is a Sebastian Pinera.

"there there, it's alright.
 it's alright, it's a moment of happiness.
 it's good.  it's good.
there, there,
just let all of those emotions out,
 it's fine, it's fine."

With genuine concern, like a father, his arm is softly draped over the woman's shoulder, consoling her with everything he's got left, bringing a sense of calm and security, offering his very best in the moment, to help her get through waiting painstakingly through just five minutes more...which seemed like a lifetime even after already waiting a full 69 days... the last two, utterly agonizing.

This was what he said, at about the time of miner number 29 nearly reaching the surface of 'the rest of his life', to the wife of Juan Carlos Aguilar.  And like anything a parent would say to a child, it wasn't so much what he said, it was the way he said it -- his demeanor, his priority in giving her his full attention, right there, bearing it all with her and giving her the strength to stay with it for just a moment or two longer, but more important, honoring her feelings, showing her the kind of empathy all of us crave in that kind of moment.

Sometimes, all we want is someone to know how we feel, to listen, to really listen; and these wives and families have endured great pain simply by waiting all this time, and the Chilean President was right there -- I don't think he ever left over the course of twenty four hours -- and along with his first lady, too.  What a display of elegance under pressure; what an example to presidents of nations everywhere, astounding stamina and spirit shining through for his people at a time of need.

And it didn't just happen for the last two days, no, it was his very belief, from day one, that he could save all thirty three miners that made this rescue happen; his Minister of Mines, his closest confidants and administration told him to leave this disaster alone, to let it go...there, there... they said to him... just let it go. let them go.

But Pinera couldn't do that; these were real Chileans who were still alive, and by God, he was going to find a way to get them out; and he had every faith that he would.

He committed himself to seeing it all the way through; he committed government resources from day one; he said yes, to offers of help -- from anywhere and everywhere -- his personal ego let go and let God work (that last bit, was my own interpretation).   But against all of his adviser's best advice, he said no to them, and said yes to the world and the possibility-in-waiting.

Let's review a few moments that are fresh in the memory of recent actions of our own Commander-in-Charge:
  • Gulf Oil Spill, ah no thanks, we got it, turning away the Dutch, syphons, and boats and booms oh my, right quick, almost too quick.
  • Military Tribunals for terrorists, ah no thanks, our civilian courts will be more fair and I think,  therefore I am in charge, I think that's the better way to go...and already showing trouble.
  • Arizona immigration legislation, ah no thanks, don't need any help, The Fed knows more than you, and knows how to handle this, back off, or I will sue, and he did.
  • IBM offering Health Care fraud detection technology, ah no thanks, we got this, walk away now, oh but now that I think, therefore I am in charge, you do know we'll sue you if your company does not comply with our new regulations.
  • Military absentee votes, ah sorry guys, no can do, can't do anyything about that...taking the unsavory position that 'to not act is to act...' and what an ugly habit it seems to be growing into...
  • just who is the party of no, now?
Polar (hemisphere) opposites, anyone?

Could they be any more different?

Self made Billionaire, Sebastian Pinera, having been credited to bringing credit to Chileans -- yes, the evil credit card market was brought to the hands of every consumer and entrepreneur, changing their economy and the way they do business nearly all by himself (okay, slight exaggeration maybe).  But still!  Can you picture our Obama-nator organizing communities in the south side of Chicago with credit card activism?  yeah, didn't think so...  Not that every American is credit worthy all the time, there is that angle as well -- and clearly, make no mistake, by his record, he wouldn't touch that one either (can you say fannie?  freddie? bravo, bravo).

Here's another interesting hmmmmmmmm about these two: both went to Harvard!  Yes, Sebastian has a degree in Economics, and apparently, became a real bonafide Professor of Economics for a time in his life; unlike, our own president, where information surfaced linking to an unthinkable reality that he really wasn't ever a "professor" but a senior lecturer from time to time (mr. fee fi faux-fessor, thank you Hillary campaign...huh...if only) ...while we might also question the constitutional law he mastered, when he can't in fact quote what is "constitutional" material and what is "Declaration of Independence" correctly (and a few times) ...and if that weren't enough, being a president fudging about his law license (and Michelle too), having turned in his law license , (designating "in-active" schmear-active) on the heels of an investigation that concluded he would most likely be losing it anyway (apparently in 2008...in the middle of a campaign?.. what no, say it isn't so).

Bravo
Bravo
Bravo.

Substance versus style -- while sometimes, when we're really lucky, some countries get both.

The people of Chile love this man, Sebastian, right now, and what's not to love; and how proud this man was, Sebastian, last night.  Beaming from his heart and soul was pure adulation of his country, his people, his miners, of all the gracious assistance he let in; he acted as a true leader, by facilitating all the good to simply flow. (he gets the true economics of it all, of life, what a breath of fresh air).

This mentality comes naturally to a man with a business sense, a certain common sense, a sense that we can find a way to make something, build something, think of something, sell something, save something, invent something, dare to dream something, and maybe even rescue something, like it was nothing at all.

He didn't seek praise -- albeit the really cool unintended consequence of actions coming from the heart and substance of a man who really cares;  he simply sought the outcome of not taking NO for an answer.  His faith told him to go forward, keep going, start digging, find the thing that will save them; and he did.

When I was in like 3rd grade, I did a report on Chile and fell in love with it -- even as just a kid. There was just something about the way it was shaped, as I recall, it was different...funny looking... and along with being south of the equator, which seemed like going to the moon and back in those days, everything about the cultural mix, the Andes, the Incas, and of course, it's shape, intrigued this girl very much. Those memories came rushing back over the course of the last couple of days.

I remember, too, I just loved saying the name; which in those days, we said "Chilly,"  not "Cheelay."  Toomayto, tomahto, no matta no matto -- who's willing to bet that Cheelay tourism will be way up over the course of the next year; (if I had money) my money would be on airlines that go there!

Me thinks a few more things will only go up, too -- things like Pinera's approval rating, Chilean patriotism, church attendance (not that it's an issue, what with 70% of it's people Catholic), price of copper and gold, marriages and oh my, even baby making (bet me, nine months from now, births in Chile will blow through the roof).

Yes.  It is all going up from here in Cheelay.  C - H - I - L- E hey! hey! hey!

If America doesn't work out, G's going there.

Make it a Good Day, G

A look at how far we've come: your movie today, just a click away on Dear America above, (dates to the first week of September) ends with the comment from a journalist quoting the administration, "it will be months before the men are rescued."...think again. Been there, done that. Next.

On another front, some presidential behavior around the world becomes almost entertaining, take for example the latest use of the poster unveiled by Iran's Ahmadinejad when visiting Hezbollah on the border(line) with Lebanon and Israel...his mug and a bit of Farsi, loosely translated as, YES WE CAN.  funny.

Dear America,

Besides the obvious life of illusion reality this administration continues to revel in, Obama attending the Joe "Sleastak" fundraiser-by-townhall meeting this morning, seems to start the week off with yet more of the same, less of what we need, and missing the mark entirely...again.

Go ahead, Obummer, run with that, please.

What's more amazing?  The response time for an article posted this morning on yahoo! from the Associated Press journalist, Julie Pace, simply stating, "Obama: People still hurting despite recession end."

First, let me applaud the 87,000+ in less than an hour making their candid remarks. Needless to say, the comments are now closed.

Interesting.

Was it something he said?

"Something that took ten years to create
is going to take a little more time to solve."
Obama
sometime between his first smoke and a PhillyCheeseSteak

You know, for guy who had all the answers and all the associations needed for creating fundamental transformation, beginning with a 2000+ page Health Care bill, cooked and ready to serve the minute he put his hand over the bible -- and the for the guy who spent nearly a trillion dollars on stimulus (pocket change for a couple of new Washingtonian's), promising unemployment never to go past eight percent, just a matter of days into his honeymoon phase -- one has to wonder, have we slipped into a remake of The Truman Show?

Ten years to create, he says.

Try seven times TEN!

Maybe calling this episode of the days of our lives all just a part of our seven year itch, with a twist, is more apropros.

It's not about making enough money; it's hardly ever about the money; and anyway,  the real culprit usually lies deeper than that which gleams upon the surface; and boy, can it take some time to realize, the grass isn't always greener on the other side.

And maybe, the stark reality that we never really know what goes on behind closed doors is what has us up in arms.  Inquiring minds wanna know -- while we are more awake now than ever; and surely no longer satisfied with canned, but empty responses; we aren't buying it; whatever it is you are peddling, we want nothing of it, completely discontent with what we are being told, as if "everything is fine"; no! we are not fine and we need to talk!

We want answers; real answers; answers that have meat on them; answers that sustain; answers, perhaps, very closely resembling things our mamas and papas may have told us, if only we paid closer attention; answers that, in the great scheme of life, just happened to be right under our nose the entire time.  Huh.  Go figure.

See the Morning Bell, via The Heritage Foundation, carrying us over the threshold with more logic behind the fact that, for most Americans, we have already paid (and dearly) for the federal free-for-all with our money; and expect to pay for it -- again  -- here on the flipside, that is, if the Obama Tax Hikes for only the lonely and the wealthy get through.

The thing is, we have been digging this ditch for seventy years -- all fully paid for, of course (see also, the lovely, ornate freeway signage, posted at every county line, all along the way).

We have burrowed in deep -- reaching suburbia, cityfolk, country bumpkins alike; we all ate it, by the loving spoonful, for decades -- never questioning the cook, never raising an eyebrow to the china.  We loved it, every minute of it.

We let the juices drip from our chins, and spent hours on the bone -- it was everything we ever wanted...

until NOW.

Yet, what is highly entertaining, seems to be the fine tuning of what we are witnessing now, is something that most outsiders can't even begin to explain -- as if it has all come out of left field or through stage door right.

But oh the beauty of it really; the cinematography is truly a work of art -- so good, maybe too good to be true.

What is alive and well and sipping the good old fashioned sweet tea by the barrel, is our inate ability to come together as Americans -- no longer simply engaged, but now humbly, united, and married to the principles and values we cherish.

It may not be all beef wellington and gravy these days, but what we are really famished for -- even within our piddly little lives we lead -- is reality;

while our president, young and unprepared, is all the more determined to transform the economics of our free market -- standing firm on refusing to budge from his Keynesian roots -- while keeping close fellowship with his father's collective ideology -- having also fallen victim to his own mother's open detachment of both America, as well as, his childhood --  struggles to get his groove back -- we all sit, watching anxiously and unglued to what happens; every day makes us all the more stunned to realize, it has all been a made-for-hollywood illusion this whole time.

Since the 40's, we have declined in meeting the demands of a new age through the darling we all know and love as only self-reliance -- that which is betrothed and beholdened to the principles that ring the bell of capitalism and liberty, for all who wish to make and partake.

Sometime mid-century, we began to hook up with romantic notions and quick-fix potions we thought we knew well enough; whereas, today, we only wished we left Miss Well Enough alone -- for she was all bad news.

87,000 comments today on just a little, itty, bitty article about people still hurting; when in fact, we have been a long time coming to this kind of pain.

So, yes and no, Mr. President, it will take a "little more time to solve" --  or not; for oh oh say can you see, how it can be done with just a push of a button, a quick hit on the remote.  It may have taken us awhile to find the power, our voice -- as it was hiding under a couple of cushions, next to the rogue popcorn and loose change and gullibility; but now that we've found it, let us just say:

"In case I don't see you...
good afternoon, good evening and good night."
Truman Burbank

Oh and,
Make it a Good Day, G

(alternate ending, split screen to camera spanning the new world, right outside the door -- returning to Truman's backside, skipping down the lane)

Dear America,

Don't Ask! but oh, do tell...

this is a tale of two faces
both pretty and neither outpaces
with candid remarks
disgrace indeed sparks
while all elegance falls out of good graces

Apparently, the new black according to international law, under "propriety/lady etiquette" is slipping into grey area, the fine lines are starting to blur...scuzi, pardon moi...

For Carla and The Ambitious is on the loose; now prowling and roaming literary circles seems to be the latest fashion of the avant garde, peddling the indiscreet with daring impunity and high style.

The nerve of her, really; to quote Carla, quoting Michelle, "Don't Ask! It's hell. I can't stand it."

According to Sarkozy's second lady, our first lady whispered sweet burning somethings in her ear; openly and unsparingly, Michelle didn't even attempt to pass off illusions of grandeur, held in high esteem and sheltered deep in Americana, of her role as close to royalty as we get -- she made no ivy league try at
even hiding her true disdain -- she laid it right out, "it's hell," oh bloody hell, I tell you, "I can't stand it."

Of course, it may not be true; but what if it is?

Besides the intital embarassment of being party to the likelihood of an international cat fight about to ensue, what would motivate another first lady to attack our first lady in such a way -- even if sparring with the truth? What would bring her to that point of no return?

It is funny when we call the President's wife, the first lady; in truth, Michelle is actually the 44th, just as Laura was 43rd, and so on and so on.  The reality of title alone -- "first lady" -- of role, of place in the world, remains to be found more in metaphor and history, than in the specifics of the long line of women who came before and in actuality.

For she stands for America.

Just as this seems to be going off message, let us twist this drivel one more time; as I started this day reading an article highlighting the "happiness gap", comparing the level of happiness of whites and blacks from the 1970's and over the last several decades; as time should have its way with us, blacks are showing greater progress than whites, according to this study and making little difference of economic status, in the pursuit of happiness.

The gap is slimming; blacks are finding a way to find happiness in spite of the imagined inequities and self-fulfilling  prophecy of austerity and lack; perhaps the generation holding tight to old truths and past wrongs, are finally giving way to new thought, allowing for the shackles of the past to unveil a life filled with hope and prosperity -- and maybe even a little happiness -- if nothing else.

But the thing is, flowing with the daily chatter, catching wind of the prevailing attitudes chiming in with wanton commentary and personal opinion, it led me down a tangent unsuspecting...and that being, the early slave trade in America (as well as along the Barbary Coast... then into the lands of "Christian Slaves, Muslim Masters"...but that would take days to traverse, and we don't have that kind of time today).

And it was there, in a sea of print, I found a prized-worthy quote:

"when someone removes the cataracts of whiteness
from our eyes, and when we look with unclouded vision
on the bloody shadows of the American past,
we will recognize for the first time the Afro-American,
who was so often second in freedom,
was also second in slavery."

Lerone Bennett Jr.
author and African American

The first flings of free-enterprise in this country had everything to do with the tabacco industry -- how to plant, process, and package, and bring it to market; white, volunteers -- commonly known as "free-willers" -- gladly exchanged a few years of indentured servitude for free passage to the new world.  Some 300,000 of these "free-willers" came over between the years 1620 - 1775, amounting to every two out of three voyagers, free choosing to migrate to America under such terms.  Only, upon arrival, finding their rights all but gone, and at a point of no return; they were stuck, and now slave to the master and commander.

But the seed was planted decades before, as the motivation of boosting the number of migrant workers to do their dirty work was so great, England had long been cleaning out their prisons, and sending to America their criminals and the unwanted  -- boasting the growth of the happiness factor back at home, I'm sure, albeit that study not to be found; while no one was safe, forwarding women, and children -- as young as toddlers, strikingly became all too easy to do.  Sometime around the early 1600's, Australia became the new dumping ground for derelicts, but the point is, many of the early "settlers" were simply migrant workers -- and predominantly white.

Whites were not only well documented to have been slaves and servants throughout world history,  they were the FIRST slaves of America!

Slavery, in any color, is nothing to stand up and be happy about, whether you came first or second; no question, and no doubt about it.

But, being First Lady, of the nation commonly recognized as the leader of the Free World -- even if for the 44th time -- now THAT is something, when afforded such stately position and sweet success, to talk about!  A reality that, if one should ever find herself  -- and maybe for the first time -- a situation one could almost be very, very proud of.  A position that, some might say, is happy-stance (just made that up) to remarkable timing, unfathomable good fortune, with luck and pure chance playing brilliantly to that end.

To speak, on behalf of all 43 first ladies who have come before, and gossip amongst the wives of the politico-elite around the entire globe, is a rare thing.

While on the contrary, to be in a position, where all girls, in a rainbow of color and custom, look to you with honor, watching your every move, and quite possibly hanging on your every word, is an everyday occurrence.

Matter of fact, the entire world is watching, listening, imagining how in bloody hell could this ever happen; we're talking about our first lady!  Did she or didn't she, it doesn't matter now; we're nestled in the bottom of a frigate and past the point of no return.

The word is out and it ain't pretty; with one click, the world sees our first lady as whiner in chief -- and not of the good, nouveau beaujolais kind; while we witness Sarkozy's second time around exhibiting behavior unbecoming of a lady.  Either way, the manuscript and the media holds us hostage to the titilating amusement of it all.

I would laugh, if only it wasn't so sad.

Make it a Good Day, G
