It's a Hypothetical Melee Thing

Dear America,

"We drink all we can, the rest we sell."
slogan of a local coffee service company...
Cafe Moto

pretty sure this girl has used this opening before, so please, by all means, consider it just a free refill.

You're welcome.

as i was listening to a portion of a Freakonomics broadcast on my podcast app the other day -- following a suggestion from my college girl -- my head started spinning nearly from the start.  It was as if I had three cups of coffee and a red bull in under a hour, I only got through about 25 minutes before I had to lay down.

So granted, this may be premature, as I have yet to complete the episode she suggested...
It's title:  Earth 2.0:  What Would Our Economy Look Like?

But let me just jump right to it --
THIS GIRL JUST HATES HYPOTHETICALS LIKE THIS!

And I apologize if using the word hate is too strong, okay Katy Perry?
[Wait.  No,  I don't....as she says, “Cuz I think like, ....the greatest thing we could do is just unite and love on each other, and like, no barriers, no borders, like, we all need to just co-exist.”]

Oh Katy, wake up and smell the coffee.

But let's not let that episode featuring total delusional, celebrity, stupidity distract us, K?

Back to the hypothetical situation, mapped out by the intellectuals and economists on Freakonomics -- their aim was to divine a new world economy -- hypothetically, of course -- if given a brand new Earth and could start all over in perfect harmony.....

....taking only the best of the best of economics, a population, and roll them up into a ball with lightness and darkness taking turns over the course of a 24 hour day, and assuming the oceans and rivers and mountains and valleys would be scattered around just as they are now.

What would the new world look like...what would this Earth 2.0 economy be like, if we had a chance for a big fat do-over?

Sure it is fun to think in terms of do-overs....I have actually walked down that do-over lane often over the course of a life time.  The beauty about it is -- by definition -- the possibility of a do-over only occurs after an experience fails us; it's beautiful, really, for it gives us a chance to learn from our mistakes, to make adjustments, to wage the pros and cons of brand new situations with fresh -- although now fairly seasoned -- eyes.

SO....Do-OVERS can ONLY happen after a mega-dose of real life experience throws us a curve ball and unexpectedly hits us right between the eyes.  And there in lies the rub.  We don't plan for failure; but oh my can it be good for us....with all that character building built into the remake, great and/or humble acts of cleaning up our act, and of course, making every intention of doing things differently next time around...oh the growth curve!

And sure, what I just said can even be used against me,  to explain how Freakonomics even goes there for arguments sake  -- for rest assured, it's not only a good topic, the reality is, the planet is undergoing a systems failure of sorts; governments have failed; people have failed; we are ripe for a do-over and just how would that look?  It is a romantic notion.  If one is going to ask questions of importance -- this truly is a good one to volley back and forth over a cup of coffee.  It probably explains how Cafe Moto came up with such a killer slogan, too.

The thing is, you can't teach actual experience.  [Millennials are living proof...Those born between 1982 and 2004 have a real issue with understanding the elements, the variables, the vast amount of experiences, the stats, the inner and outer workings of almost anything revolving around our humble beginnings and that which became incorporated upon our founding, by virtue of America's Independence from Britain.]

But for starters:   To create a new world of utopian level economics of rather lofty ambitions, it would also require the complete absence of human nature, K.   For to err is human, right?   To err, to lie, to cheat, to be greedy, to hate, to hide things, to steal, to be deceptive, to be controlling, to kill, to sow seeds of discord, to terrorize other nations, to leak intelligence, to use an unprotected server to transmit confidential top-secret information, to hack computers systems, to be jealous of what other people have, to covet your neighbors wife or car, to embezzle, to illegally enter another nation and then make demands for health and welfare needs, to not understand the value of understanding 'we reap what we sow'...

"If men were angels, no government would be necessary. If angels were to govern men, neither external nor internal controls on government would be necessary. In framing a government which is to be administered by men over men, the great difficulty lies in this: you must first enable the government to control the governed; and in the next place oblige it to control itself."
And let's add this:   now going back to replay the quote of only a few days ago, by James Allen, of the ignorance of mankind -- those who only see the product of something, and not the "trials and failures and struggles which these men have voluntarily encountered in order to gain the experience; have no knowledge of the sacrifices they have made, of the undaunted efforts they have put forth..."  It's like they are missing something, right, missing a piece to a magnificent puzzle.

The thing is -- America WAS handed the experiences of failed civilizations (Rome, Greece...) by virtue of a Constitutional Congress of enlightened men, and given a course to take.  We were quickly named exceptional -- because we ventured out setting an economic standard that would ultimately be copied around the globe, while doing so alongside a government that protected a free people in every way, and oh! while practicing a religion of our choice.  It was an age of the greatest DO OVER EVER!

For the first time, kings and the powerful elite of the Church, did not hold the power --- for the Rule of Law featured a certain Checks and Balances under three branches of government, with our representation elected by the people.   Perhaps the first Americans were not all angels, but the foundation of a virtuous life WAS taught in daily life,  a life of faith held together by precepts and ideals handed down by God as part and parcel of every step, every course, every road we take.

Government relied upon mankind to do their fair share -- to do their duty... to God and to country -- and do so in the spirit of the greater community we all shared and its welfare.

The New World -- the forming of America -- introduced the free market on a grand scale.  Anyone could create a product/service and bring it to market and make a profit.   The good things would surely rise and meet success in the mirror, and the bad would be lost in a sea of failed ideas, poor follow through, bad location, greedy business practices, unfair treatment of workers, lack of funding, a horrible product, terrible service, stupid corporate politics....and on and on and on.   And all this being said without even mentioning the word 'taxes'  -- or the difference one good slogan can make...you go, Cafe Moto motto!

And yet, here we are, between the natural failures and delinquencies of humanity, and the obscene amount of government abuses, the free enterprising mechanism is clearly not working under the burden of multiple attacks,  and capitalism, as a whole, is amassing quite the bad rap (unless of course, you are a liberal corporation ...amazon anyone? or a social network raking in billions).   [YES, this is funny]

OH and here's a big one -- even a "small scale economy," like America's, is already 20 trillion underwater (not including the 100 trillion in unfunded liabilities into the future)...would this new world, EARTH 2.0,  just forgive all debts and start over?  If America has amassed this much debt with 300 million occupants, how efficient could this new economy really be under a burden servicing 7 billion heads?  [Maybe I just need to listen to the whole thing, maybe the talking heads have an answer for that.....there is that.]

Forgive me if I sound a wee bit cynical, but if given the chance of an Earth 2.0 -- what gives you any confidence we could keep to the plan, Freakonomics?   Will we be a planet of robots that just do what we are told?  Will we all wear the same clothes, live in the same square modular home, and catch a free uber to work, fully supported by the new world order under the hierarchy of the government elite?  Yes, I am back to my head spinning.

It's just such a hypothetical melee today, isn't it?

We could hypothetically talk about starting over in many areas of life, not just the economy.

But what is the point of that? Where does that get us if the actual means to the hypothetical answers requires an agreement of profound ideas --  encompassing religion, economics, culture....right down to the language we speak.  It's simply foolish to begin at  "clean slate" when we are already well underway in all parts of the world, including 7 billion moving parts.

America began to fall apart the day we not so hypothetically changed everything -- the day we began taxing the people who had a job to pay for the welfare of those who do not have a job, the day we committed to paying Social Security for the aged, the day we committed to health care entitlements and Earned Income entitlements and even free college for all ...no wait, that last one only goes to those who illegally cross our borders.  [Just another nod to Katy]

For an economy to work in America -- and anywhere else, really -- people need to be in full agreement of the rules AND be knowledgeable as to how wealth is made and acquired, how a business is begun.  And from there, it becomes a process to be respected and admired, so that it has half a chance to be passed on to future generations, for the benefit of the whole.

But let's be clear, charity was never intended to be provided courtesy of the government.

Charity and the care of others was a burden, a need,  shared by churches and family and community involvement.

Hypothetically, this girls wishes for a DO OVER post dated to about 1935.

I know.  It probably could be considered hate speech these days --- guessing  heartless bee-atch would come swiftly next.

The thing is -- there is more than one thing going wrong these days, economically speaking.  Even the guys at Freakonomics agree with me on that.   We have made a real mess of things, having madly, deeply, sadly, veered from our original intent and founding enlightenment.  All the kids see today is the end result....and there is no connection to the sacrifices, the labor, the factors of time and place, the exceptional expression of individual virtue multiplied by so many souls at once....even the requirement to sometimes fail, itself, becomes a means to bring us to this time and place today.

[Considering this,  how many times did we fail at inventing a really good lightbulb?]

The economy and culture and wealth are tied together like a fantastic, continually operating, experiment.  You can't just start fresh at anytime!  IT all builds upon itself, from day one until the day the lights go out upon the world.

It requires every generation to learn all about it -- from the day we bartered a wheel for food, from the day we exchanged goods for services, from the day we past on the family farm to our children, from the day we took over the family business, from the day we started a savings account, from the day we graduated from college without a lick of experience and parlayed that into a billion dollar industry, from the day we dropped out of college and parlayed that into a billion dollar industry -- it's all part of bringing together what we know from the past and what we don't know in our future.  Individual ambition, and talents, and time, then promptly take over, making every day a possible DO OVER day, the kind of DO OVER that is even better than the day before.

Does one learn optimism?   What about the level of ambition, how much does that matter?  What about the difference between a man and his business who chooses to tithe back to his church, and one that does not?  There are so many variables upon which a healthy economy stands...Can all these factors be factored into the new world, Earth 2.0? SO many questions, so little time.

An economy -- large and small, domestic and international, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health is already a prime example of  an ever evolving co-existence, Katy, @zuck, the Freakonomics folks and anyone else who wants to talk about it ad nauseam over a cup of coffee.  But the funny thing about talk is that nothing actually gets done, and a healthy economy doesn't know how to respond to talk -- it only knows the principles of On, Off, Fast, Slow,   Supply,  Demand, Up, Down, Stop, and of course, Go....

It is called the activity of every season under heaven in a widely diverse, super connected, highly dysfunctional operation known as Econ 101 -- the prerequisite for any possibility of a 2.0 to occur.

I know.  It's a hypothetical melee, one that began on a slogan and half a podcast, and look at me go...
pretty sure with a cape and a rhinestone tiara, this girl could save the world...tee hee.

Just kidding...

That job is taken!

And thanks be to God for that!

So now, it's time for the Memorial Day Concert on PBS....
My salute goes out to the all who have served and to all who have lost their lives protecting those of us working the nine to five.  It's so easy to take our ease of society, our comfort, our safety, our shelter, for granted, when in fact, America rests upon such grace by the grace of God and those who actually gave their lives in wars past and present, so that one day we can hypothetically discuss beginning a hypothetical planet, Earth 2.0.

It's a beautiful thing...how lucky we are, how lucky we are, that we can count our lucky stars.

It's a Miso Soup Thing

Dear America,

I am the master of my fate.
I am the captain of my soul.

just yesterday, in G dayz, we were speaking about Katy Perry's lament of the misogynist-in-chief (as if he was the first ever, right?).  Hello?  Can we talk Kennedy?  Hmmmmm and suddenly, the term 'leading from behind' takes a turn around the dance floor with an entirely new perspective.  Or how about Billy bob-devil-in-a-blue-dress-and-a-cigar Clinton?  Of course, both Bushies are major suspects, too, as a family history repeats itself.  We could probably find dirt on every single president to date....and maybe even their wives, too.  According to one biography, rumor has it Grace Coolidge fooled around with a couple of the secret service boys...oh my.

Oh happy friday. This girl is so happy, so happy, it's friday.

Having just left a guy only a month ago [see blog on finding my little light, here] , this isn't particularly the best time for a discussion on boys.  Tee hee.  But Oh! do I love boys and hate boys and love them again...indeed.

Just for foreplay, when it comes to hanky-panky and playing around, the honest truth is that there is usually a girl who participates with the boy; which in fair turn -- given equality for all and all for one -- makes the girl just as culpable and equally corrupt as boy.  THIS is NOT the same thing as a girl receiving unwanted advances or being on the receiving end of some kind of sexual assault, or being battered with sexually explicit words all the live long day with words that degrade her, disrespect her, or otherwise make her feel dirty, or an object, in an unprotected workplace, and one that clearly has created an environment unfit for the times.

But the thing is, to keep playing with this word, MISOGYNY -- this label, really -- and allow just a whip of the tongue to instantly assail a powerful guy......... perhaps we need to be more consistent.  Just sayin'.

Besides, much of the time, it's really a misuse of the word.  For by definition, any time we place a MISO-- in the front of the word, it stands for hatred; and as such, misogamy is a hatred of marriage; misology is a hatred of reason, argument, or enlightenment; misoneism is a hatred of change or innovation; and finally, misogyny is a HATRED of women.  [And thank you to my American Heritage Dictionary]

This girl has said this before:  but does anyone really think The Donald hates women?  Is it about hatred when he wants to get in a girl's pants?   Anyone?  Are all womanizers misogynists?  Please, someone, tell me.

And so then, answering the question of what do we know and when did we know it, on the fly -- if Katy Perry thinks Trump is the quintessential misogynist-in-chief, then that would make her, quite possibly, a California GURL/Pop Star impersonating a miso-neist by way of miso-logy.  ....take that and dial it back.

Now perhaps the misogyny label can be placed quite appropriately upon the Princes and Kings of Saudi Arabia....but if we go there, we might as well call every Muslim man, following Sharia Law,  a misogynist, right?  And if we go there, considering some horrific news of late, we might as well add any doctor who commits female genitalia mutilation surgery upon girls...yes, and even within the boundaries of these great United States of America.  Does Katy got a voice on that?

Words matter.  Name calling matters.

It is a complete misnomer to call President Donald Trump a misogynist; not only that, it's misjudging the situation, misleading the truth, and misinterpreting his behavior.

Ah in this era of mine, when it's seems most natural to mutter the words, oh who needs a man -- suddenly, the consideration of adding et. al.  comes to mind.  Oh my fellow man, my fellow man, how you make this girl crazy sometimes.   But of course, this is what the G Thing is all about, duh --- keeping a silly diary from one American girl to the next, and in particular, keeping tabs on politics and pop culture and populists and miso-populists alike or not alike at all.

It's all about double standards and double speak with The Left, isn't it?

Oh sure -- The Left is totally into free speech, are most tolerable and love everyone -- IF you march lock, stock, and barrel, with placards and chanting and bandannas across your face, along with the kind of anarchy they preach.  yeah, yeah, that's all fine and good. and yet....if you color outside the lines....

The whole truth is, they are Miso-Milo and Miso-Coulter simply based upon the side of politics they stand; now talk about misology!  What is The Left so afraid of?  Why is The Left so close-minded and intolerant?  Why is The Left misbehaving so -- and where will the censorship stop --- when the leftists make fascist their last name and mutilate from the roots any last shred of evidence that conservatives ever existed, let alone deserve any respect, let alone happiness?   The Left is so good at rewriting science, history, and basically having its way with anyone who doesn't think like them.

And actually, if we go there, we might as well label the entire Left as misogynists against ALL conservative women -- girls like me!   For it has become quite clear -- the Left hates, disregards, hellbent to emasculate the natural power, the organically grown feminism of it's own kind, of the conservative girl.

No matter.  For the things we conservative gurls  carry in the midst of this cultural war upon those of us walking the road less traveled -- with the mass, mainstream media fully ignoring our every voice --  is an awfully seductive dance of courage, of disobedience,  of grace, uncommon.  Oh libertad, Oh Libertad, Invictus is mine.

a poem by William Earnest Henley....from 1888:

Out of the night that covers me,
Black as the pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
      For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds and shall find me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate,
I am the captain of my soul.

Oh my, I must have said 'girl'  a million times today -- definitely more than usual;  i got carried away.  But as truth be told, and retold, and rewritten and retold, let it be understood, I am no longer just a girl on any given day -- I am more like G-hahd Jane; I'm in a fight for America -- for my life and yours (even the anarchists and lefty's) -- every single GI joe day no matter what comes out of everybody's mouth.

I really wanted to talk about something going on with the misogynists at the United Nations, but it will just have to wait for another day.  For a down and dirty preview, by all means take a peek through this window to world power, HERE.  [Nikki better be on this by now.]

It's a G-hahd Thing

Dear America,

"If you have a voice, use it."
Katy Perry
Cover of Vogue, May

and not to further disappoint, the article inside is sure to please by going deep -- revealing just what this little cultural icon thinks about "pop, power, and politics..."  Needless to say, it should come as no surprise that this girl didn't buy it, let alone read it; yet, for certain my imaginations run wild with a Katy Perry interview hooking up with the visions of a leftist's wet teenage dream with enough California Gurl firepower to blow up my afternoon.

I would also put my money -- maybe even 400 grand -- on the notion that Katy wasn't speaking to me.  But maybe not; maybe it isn't fair to jump to any conclusions on whether or not she would respect my conservative take on life and culture in America, giving me a kiss on the cheek with a whisper in my ear to, 'rock on, G! you go gurl! '   ........Oh, an American girl can dream, indeed.

Speaking of voices!  All together now: Hip Hip Hip O Crite! Hip Hip Hip O Crite!

And here in lies why I love politics and hate politics all the live long day....it's like an internal G-hahd going on inside me..... and round and round it goes, where it stops, nobody knows. [On a personal G note: a new muse in my life unknowingly fed me that play on jihad; and at the moment, the gravity of this finding, this play of words, finds me completely dumbstruck on how to thank him....but no doubt, this girl will figure it out....teehee; but let me be clear...under the No Expectations Act of 4/22, muses come and muses go, so this girl stands completely, joyfully, fully independent.]

But let's not dwell, shall we; back to Obama:  what a hypocrite with a CAPITAL BO. It stinks to high heaven with like seventy-two virgins waiting for him!   I when we talk capital -- besides the larger letters, that are a complete given --- we could also go capital, as in the sudden reaping of wealth, dirty money from the dirty fat cats he assailed,  during both of his dirty presidential campaigns and then throughout the dirty scandal of his eight year administration; what a capital idea!

Oh, Barry, you've come a long way since your early days of community organizing; from the streets of Chicago, to the presidency, and fundamentally transforming America from the inside out, while making all of America vulnerable to the ways of the ummah (Muslim community) working into every facet of our government, large and small.   THIS IS STUNNING...San Diego news of pure abuse!

Katy Perry might just take issue later on the years, when all of us gurls need to wear a burqa....just saying.  But again, I digress, bigly.

That last link brings you face to face with the way CAIR has somehow or other become a legitimate voice for the Muslim community, and has quietly worked its way into our lives, while most Americans have had their face in the sand and allowing their efforts shameful validation. As they aim to corrupt our republic, little by little, even if it takes them another fifty to a hundred years, we might as well be so ashamed to cover our entire bodies and beautiful faces, leaving only a wee bit of room for the eyes.

Yeah, I stand for equality and diversity and love, too; but this girl is sure as hell not handing over America's foundation, built upon the Rule of Law [Totally incompatible with SHARIA], a law celebrating liberty and freedom, and guaranteeing every person, every individual, the pursuit of happiness, to a wild bunch of sharia enthusiasts with the intention of either converting or the killing of every infidel on the planet, starting with the western world -- kinda like a hostile takeover of the peaceful kind [Oh CAIR, you can kiss my ass].  By the way, you can find CAIR headquarters on Capital Hill; all the while, this link is a great place to start, in order to introduce you to the pure  deception that runs wide and deep with voices beguiling and charming and totally capitalizing on the ability to captivate and hold captive, literally.

AND NOW READ THIS VOICE:  counterjihadreport.
AND NOW READ THIS VOICE:  thedailywire

welcome to the end of the day, of G-hahd day....although this message has been said, voiced, in a variety of ways, many a days before, here on the old G Thing -- today, itself, is a brand new day; as we continue to evolve and learn and grow, we must continually adapt to the ways and means of the enemy, otherwise we may miss an opportunity to capitalize on what we know and when did we know it, and most important, struggle with the conflict of answering the question of what are we going to do about it....as in, how are we going to combat it!  For to stand still, is like sitting down and just taking it -- vogue, strike a pose, and die --  and that just ain't gonna fly!

We are in a fight for our life and our livelihoods just as great as they were in the age of the revolutionary war.   And dare I add, even a Katy Perry would have to agree with me purely based on the potential of being on the receiving end of real misogyny  argument alone.

Namaste.

Make it a Good Day, G

Tuesday, March 1, 2011

Dear America,

so this morning, I've been dragging my feet at getting at it; yesterday, something threw this little mama for a loop.

and even though there may be plenty of reasons for this to occur on its own, on a minute by minute basis, from the political front lines and beyond...this was personal...and hardly something I could just compartmentalize and put away, to deal with on another day.

so this morning, picture getting a phone call from the principle letting you know your baby girl has had a "seizure."       and then going on to define it...exhibiting convulsions, rolling her eyes back, and then blacking out entirely...

...what?

...I'm sorry, what?

so yesterday, that's how this girl interrupted met the middle of her day -- hightailing it to the nurse's office, not knowing how the rest of the day would unfold, and hardly concerned about the rest of my life; for in that moment, life stops.

She is okay -- otherwise, how in the world could I be tapping my life away right now, right?

so this morning, switching gears a wee bit -- in consideration of where we left off just yesterday, perhaps we should begin the conversation of the things we value, and the things we don't, beginning with our children; and in particular, take a moment to bring attention to a class of boys and girls in a class of their own.

Talk about this little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine...what a beautiful story that comes to us via the Oscar's, via YouTube, via the Stanton Island Public School system...PS 22.

and just in case you live under a rock, picture this...

...picture being a kid who attends just a regular public school in Stanton Island, NY who lives life from the motto, "don't think it, FEEL it!"  then, picture a room full of shining happy faces swaying to the music, humming from the inside out, singing to their own beat, and loving every minute of it -- alongside a teacher, simply known around school as Mr. B,  who stands at the piano, waves his arms between  notes, and wears a smile so wide, even your own heart skips to the beat.

...then picture, having so much fun with it, you upload a few videos on YouTube...you know,  just for kicks and giggles -- and low and behold....as time goes by...and millions and gazillions of hits later, you wake up to meet up with a brand new day...

...then picture this day, joining with some of your very best friends, along with Mr. B, and going on the Best Field Trip ever!  With the help of United Airlines, the Academy Awards, Renaissance Hotels, sprinkled with a whole lot of pixie dust from Oprah -- and oh yeah, with Disneyland thrown in just because the kids are too cool for school  -- you win a trip to California  -- to sing at the Oscars...Somewhere Over the Rainbow, no less --  in front of millions in the televised audience -- in front of thousands of Hollywood Elite at the Kodak Theater --  and then waking up the day after only to get to sing FIREWORK on stage for a private Oprah showing...and only to have that moment interrupted -- by Katy Perry herself! --  live, and in person, now with you and now singing with you on stage!

Is that not the best thing you ever heard... ever?  Or at the very least, all things considered, the best thing over the course of the last few days?  OH MY GOODNESS  oh my goodness  oh        my       goodness.

Only in America.

And so sweet the exchange between Katy and Oprah immediately following the song:  Katy -- who flew overnight just to be there for the day, this moment, this five minutes in time -- said to Oprah, "I had to be here...because you called!"  It is good to be Oprah,  isn't it?  Now G has long loved the O; and now, Katy, is quickly working her way into my heart as we speak -- but can you just imagine the impression these two girls have left upon the hearts and minds on the chorus of PS22?

...and just when you thought the day was done...picture now the customary gift bag; to top off already too many good things to count, every member of the chorus got to take home a Samsung Galaxy, courtesy of Sprint; and can we just take a moment to take note of how many corporate sponsors made this thing happen?  Unlike my ordinary gift to gab and get a little long winded, I choose not to expand on that idea for today... just not up to it, you know... but let me just finish the thought with a cheer, if I may:

RUN corporate america RUN!

so this morning, our children are special, aren't they?

How I truly wish this kind of  experience, for PS22, could be had for all of our children -- wouldn't that be a wonderful, wonderful world?

But this I do know, and spinning this from something Katy told the kids -- everything "starts with a spark"  the rest is "up to you", to turn it into something bigger; now, I'm willing to bet, giving a lesson resting on the laurels of self-reliance was more than likely far from Katy's immediate thought process -- but in that moment, she connected a rich tool for life all of us can take away from in equal portion.

And I feel quite certain, Mr. B, believing his heart to be in the right place, didn't set out to light a spark under his choral class expecting all these things to happen in return -- he just gave to them his very best, everyday -- he just allowed them to express themselves, fully, in every way --

and then, one morning, he simply rewarded all their efforts with an introduction...an opportunity to shine in front of the whole wide world...then they talked to friends, and then they talked to friends...and so on...and so on...

...and soon enough, PS22 became a household name, personifying, once again, another true blue American success story, reaching new heights through the likes of google, youtube and the world wide web -- pullin' a Beiber, and becoming an overnight sensation...and making it all look so easy.  How I would love it if someone followed this class all the way into adulthood...

The thing is, this morning, even though there are no guarantees what the day may bring, our children need a whole lot of good things going in in order to have a whole lot of good things come back out. This I know -- and cherish --  today, and always.

Make it a Good Day, G

so this morning,  is dedicated to PS22, to Mr. B., and to my baby girl (oh yeah, and Oprah, too)
