It's a What the Front Yard Thing

Dear America,

it's all about the latest TruGreen commercial.  Have you seen it?

funny.

a sketchy weed-killer dude is commissioned to do his thing by a trusting homeowner -- flash forward to the next day -- when the homeowner hops out the front door to get his paper -- and it's dirt.  as far as the eye can see -- and he says, 'what the front yard?'

I don't know.  Maybe it was just the way he said it; maybe it's just the mood I'm in  -- let's just say, thank you TruGreen for the chuckle.

And this is where we will begin:  maybe it was the way he said it...

Now -- let's just forget about TruGreen and go to the open mic:

 "This is my last election.
After my election I have more flexibility..."
obama to medvedev

give me a little "space", he says, and then we will talk.

he said it when he thought the world wasn't listening -- and then again, knowing his arrogance, maybe not.

it was just the way he said it...ew.  under his breath and in secret...
going rogue as the Dictator-in-Chief, asserting his confidence in his ability to gain a second term, among other things.

All I can think of is -- how many times has this M.O. been used?

What else is he planning on doing the day after the election -- self-assured of a second go round?

As the return to 'what the front yard'
comes echoing from the back of my mind?

All I can say is -- thank goodness it was caught on tape; for this gaffe immediately validates the worries and concerns of a vast majority of Americans revolving around the imaginations of 'four more years.'

For most of America recognizes the fact that four more years of Obama gives permission for this administration to go carte blanch; all controls, all checks and balances, all good conscience is gone, baby, gone with the granting of this guy the SPACE and time to do what he really, really wants without prejudice.
Did I say it was gone; I mean, ALL gone -- bye bye -- dirt -- as far as the eye can see.

Obama is planning on going ballistic with every radical, social justice, community re-organizing, fundamental transformation, remaking America THING he can imagine; anything and everything he has ever dreamed of, he intends to make a reality.   just because he can, then -- upon four more years.

As he says to Medvedev...just give me a little space...a little time to get this second election out of the way.

We are not Russia.

We usually don't like dictators here in America.

America was designed by We the People, for We the People.  So now -- under open mic -- We the People want to ask the president (since you brought it up, after all) -- just what exactly do you mean?   With all due respect, Mr. President, but you, sir, have some esplainin' to do.   What the front yard? What in tar-nation kind of missile deal do you plan  on making with Russia....you know, after such time you get America's blessing for a second coming?

You know, if Bush said something like this and got caught -- it would be all hell breaking loose (ooh la la -- what a great tie back to friday, g....happy monday to me)

Make no mistake.
This is a campaign speech.  (that sly little devil...figuratively speaking and said in jest, of course)
This is a message to the world, and especially to the wee little people of America, preparing us; a second term will ring in four more years fulfilling Obama's presidential/dictatorial bucket list.  oh joy.
What the front yard.
Thanks for the honesty, Mr. O, but for reasons I am sure you can understand -- like full disclosure and transparency and being held under the oath of office, to name just a few -- what else?

We, the People, are now fully entitled to know more.

Make it a Good Day, G

Totally separate subject (kinda sorta):
Here's a good look back to 2003 -- a snapshot of what the Afghanistan people were thinking then.

Did you know this happened over this past weekend?
"The families of the dead, who received the money Saturday at the governor's office, were told that the money came from U.S. President Barack Obama, said Kandahar provincial council member Agha Lalai. He and community elder Jan Agha confirmed the payout amounts."

which is funny -- cuz it made it sound like Obama just took some of his earnings from book sales and wrote a check to each family out of his own pocket and generosity... when EVERYDAY AMERICANS covered for these payments. And in light of the fact that these payments are unusually high, in comparison to what has been paid in the past (around $10 grand), it was awfully generous of him.
What were they paid:  $50 grand for every death, $11 grand for the wounded.  [worth in Afghan dollars, something like $2.4 million ]
...can he just do that kind of thing now?

It's a Generally Speaking Thing

Dear America,

good morning USA!

with regards to "The GOOD war" -- as stated by our president (over and over again... while knee deep in the trenches under friendly fire of a presidential campaign) -- we must cue the sea change; welcome to "The Eh War."   and if you say it with a little new yorkeh in you and we might get somewhere.

after the killing of 16 civilians by an army soldier over the weekend, our president gets tangled up in what sounds like totally unprepared remarks anchored only by mixed emotion.   He says it is "absolutely tragic and heartbreaking" but "proud generally" of the troops.

Compounding upon the continuing narrative:   The Left's innate ability to lump one bad actor into the whole -- unless of course, you are from the Left, and then you get a pass, or it gets overlooked, or there must be some logical reason for it and it's unapologetically excused.

But the president doesn't separate this rogue army soldier from the whole -- he purposely pools the attack into the larger scale by tossing out a blanketed, all encompassing, 'generally speaking' opinion on the entire bunch; and, generally speaking, calling into question his overall commitment and battle fatigue; and generally speaking, lighting a fire under our enemy, leaving room to doubt our military strength and overall conviction.  The Good War is becoming something of an enigma.

eh, I'm still generally proud of you guys...

you know, I remember way back when, when a rogue military dude gunned down his fellow officers and civilians, our president was quick to protect him -- ...we don't know all the details as of yet...let us not jump to any conclusions...he said (eventually).

The president didn't characterize Nidal Malik Hassan as one in the same with the finer details of the whole -- he didn't besmirch the entire global force of good, leaving it's integrity in question, you know 'generally speaking.'

No.  For Hassan, it was an entirely different situation room.  Hassan was protected in his own little bubble.

For this army soldier in Afghanistan, not so much; the Commander-In-Chief leaves us in muddied waters, and basically -- generally speaking -- begging our foes for forgiveness and leniency.  He left room for doubt all the way around -- within and without.

Now battle fatigue is real; but rogue shooters who choose to terrorize his fellow officers, in the name of Allah, is a totally different breed.

Let's just see how these two guys will eventually be "treated" in "the system" -- for they do seem to have one thing very much in common:  there were signs! which were... for the most part...generally speaking...widely ignored!   but details, right?  I'm pickin' on a pin cushion.

All in all -- generally speaking -- the war in Afghanistan has been thoroughly marred with a really bad image problem; the leader of the free world seems to be missing in action, more interested in following the narrative for re-election rather than leading with conviction.   but have no worries, all you troops out there, for he is still 'proud generally.'   aw.  so sweet.  so encouraging, really.  wow.

Cardboard images of the Commander-In-Chief's mug are being burned by the masses (in Afghanistan) as we speak.

Consider this:  could it be that our president is leading the battle fatigue, simply by -- you know, generally speaking -- failing to lead, apologizing for the ill-effects and consequences of war, illuminating our weaknesses, questioning our mission, undermining our strength and integrity, and for all intents and purposes, making the United States appear as if we have no idea what we are doing there???

talk about battle fatigue -- I'm exhausted just thinking about this.  whiskey tango foxtrot.  what's it spell?

"The truth is incontrovertible.
Panic may resent it;
ignorance may deride it;
malice may distort it, but there it is."
Winston Churchill
just a guy who knows a thing, or two, about battle
(and protecting democracy, generally speaking)

Make it a Good Day, G

Context 2008 -- Obama in his own words (albeit, only a Senator at the time); words that we now recognize as 'generally speaking' and clearly co-dependent on the political tide:

"Afghanistan, NATO's first major mission beyond the borders of Europe, has been overlooked and undermanned by many members of the alliance, including the United States.

Success in Afghanistan, I believe, is critical to American national security and to the security of the entire world, and a failure there would not only endanger our nation and global stability, it would cast serious doubt on the ability of NATO's military and political architecture to uphold our security in the 21st century."
is it the good war anymore, mr. president -- or is it just a wittle-bit bad?

Dear America,

this is so weird.

I was thinking this morning about things that have outlived their benefit, and figured I would run with that today; when low and behold, we are beginning to think just that with regard to the Afghanistan war...as we sit here, nine years later, as of tomorrow, wondering what in the world we plan to do now, asking should we stay or should we go now, questioning the output and upshot over the intent and for what.

Then, it hit me, my girl turned five on the day the war began -- and what a contrast it is to look at the two side by side; one is picture of life, the other death.

While unlike the continuous cycle of rebirthing, as only parenthood can do on a day to day reality -- even well after the day it all began -- but does a war ever reach a point when it simply outlives the benefit?  Is it appropriate to come to some sense that we are done here, the negatives outweigh the positives, these people and their security are not worth saving, let's just wrap it up here as quickly as we can -- and back out gracefully, if at all possible, for this war is outliving it's benefit by a long shot?  After all, its been nine years, and counting...I'm not seeing no hope, are you?

Just seems strange really; for it seems like only yesterday we witnessed our president enacting the troop surge as he addressed West Point and the entire world -- marking a definite re commitment to the cause while enlivening all effort pushing forward, as painful as it may have been at the time.

So, if you read G, we were speaking just yesterday -- or was it the day before -- of the fickleness of BFF's in these modern times; well that goes to the tenth power when it comes to the world wide forces of BFFNations around the globe.  Oh, it's so hard to be there through thick and thin -- trying to remember why we were friends in the first place.  It can be a fleeting, fickle, frantic thing, wondering if it will all be worth it in the end.

Makes me wonder, will we ever outlive the benefits of our relationship with Israel?  France?  Germany?  England?  Are we already showing signs of deterioration with Pakistan, Mexico or China?  How committed are we to them and more importantly, are they to us?

Just how much of this relation is sacred anymore, a line you dare not cross; who amongst us are beholden to the ideals of greatness and the genteel, and hold places of high esteem and honor as gentlemen and women -- as grown ups -- people who respect each other, stay connected to the shared vision and goal, remain calm and cool and collected -- even if things get really gnarly, and believe wholeheartedly in the undying benefits of the makings and birthing of democracy, with liberty, justice and freedom for all -- not just for those who rule?

Twisting these ideas even further, just who is out there for the benefit of the common man and the making of a republic under the rule of law here in America, reminiscent of the natural law -- endowed by our Creator -- that started it all?

Has this America seen it's better days, are we now morphing into the latest, greatest, elitist version for all the world to see -- leaving the likes of the old American principles and values in a tangling of afterbirth and inherent guts by the wayside -- as if global governance is calling us by name?

I just don't get the hatchet job upon the things that matter, really matter; and yet, perversely we avow to hold tight to the things that have the power to truly harm.

If I were in charge of the world, these are a few of my favorite things that have fully, yet unabashedly, outlived their benefit -- and call me warped, but a full-term abortion seems to be the only way out:

  • UNIONS, duh
  • Congress -- that is, until they curtail unlimited spending, until they realize they have limited power
  • the "separation of Dem's and Rep's"...hear me out...not saying that they shouldn't be -- just saying that they aren't (wishing we had a reality TV show, something like a bigbrotherhouse to document the travesty of it all) .  Just uncomfortable with preponderance and frequency of the skanky progressives leading the charge of the continuous rape and pillaging of both parties...and right under our noses, that takes some kind of juevos, that's for sure.
  • the "separation of church and state" -- really?  so, we got this one right in the beginning, but somewhere down the line it turned upside down and breech.  The intention was not to have God demonstrably and favorably shunned by government -- it was to protect a government from bearing down on the people in telling them how to believe, what faith, as projected in the example of Government by Church of England -- we went into war against English rule for just this much. BUT, make no mistake, we were a Christian nation, quick to create our rule of law based entirely upon our duty to live together, as citizens, beholden to the natural God given rights and duties. NOTHING was to get in the way of the expression of such faith in our daily life -- be it in school, in the courtroom, at city hall, at the grocery store, in a gathering of two or more people anywhere we wanted, and even in solemn prayer alone in a room -- any room, anywhere; while ALL religions were welcome to practice, preach and pitch it at their every whim. This has become the most abused founding principle of them all; and if the ACLU and the left get their way -- this alone will destroy us from the inside out.
  • Social Security -- baby steps to begin with, developing into full sprints, then, that's it, done. Then no more -- na da, da da @ go daddy.com; as there is a better way to do it. From day one, this was a big mistake... 'big mistake... huge.'  (say it like pretty woman)
  • IRS...basically, go flat tax or bust
  • Department of Education...in a word, overrated; this has grown to become the biggest scam against our children ever; the fed feeds into state funds at a rate of about 8% of the total education budget (in keeping with cutting 10% across the board, locally and federally, this one's got to go).
  • Mainstream Media...no need to explain
  • Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, see above.
  • Health Care Legislation, see above. never should have happened. not like this.  what a mess.
  • Solar Panels...just because it is topical again, with the white house installing a few.  Costs FOUR times as much, but okay, whatever...looks good on the resume.
That's it; most notably off the list,  'what to do with a problem like Afghanistan' -- for some, judgment day is here, others, not so much -- hopefully, the Afghan women and children might be asked how THEY feel about it -- and before a decision's been conceived and firmly planted by the powers that be (and feeling free enough to just let it rip); while we can only hope having babies never goes out of style and continually rock our world and live beyond our wildest imagination -- even when it gets to be really hard to see the good in keeping them around (like under twelve weeks in the womb...two years old...as teenagers...returning twenty somethings who just sit on the couch tweeting their BFF's-- all 427 of them...to even when they should be long out of the house, well adjusted and just an afterthought half the time... yet, looky here, seems the only time we hear from you... hello mama. hey pops. what's shaken?...How much do you need?).

Tomorrow, the Afghanistan war marks an unimaginable nine years; and my baby girl turns fourteen!

Strangely enough, in spite of no relation whatsoever, both, almost equally, make me feel like I'm not getting any younger.  Today, its kind of stupid like that.

Make it a Good Day, G

please tell me you hit the video on Dear America. just one minute twenty seconds out of your life, just do it.

Dear America,

I'm not gonna lie.

I'm not gonna pretend I've been here since day one, when I have been clearly out of sight and out of mind.

I've been gone baby gone...for a couple of weeks now...

I can honestly say I haven't lifted a golf club, nor have I attended any concerts (unless of course you would like to count an 8th grade commencement ceremony jazz ensemble -- who were amazingly quite good -- Go, Earl Warren Middle School), but I have easily cheered on for America in the World Cup games, taken in a couple of my girl's Friday Night Lights Field Hockey games, watched a little Wimbledon -- while I even gathered the nerve to dust off the racket myself!

We have slept in, we have stayed up late, we have read books, we have cooked, we have had family visit, we have had graduation, we have lived one day to the next on what appears to fall under one category, and one category alone -- SUMMER.  It is here.

Family vacations, taking a little time off, children running through sprinklers, fireworks, barbecues, lemonade, spending a long afternoon soaking up a good book on the beach, celebrating summer in each our own way begins to shape our days and nights, upturning the usual routine rather easily.

Of course, the world does not stop when the summer solstice hits, does it.  Just when you think you can slip into a sand dune and let the world go by... bam... Rolling Stone turns the tide faster than you can say Afghanistan in June.

Yet for me, I was still in the midst of reading my Newsweek from June 21st, surfing through it's usually cadre of left vs. right; never would have paid money for it if it weren't for the visit with the folks -- papa was drawn to "Saint Sarah" on the cover and that was all she wrote. Lucky for me, he left it for me to peruse.  But little did he know, it would be another article that would ultimately strike my inner fem fancy (not), simply titled "I DON'T THE CASE AGAINST MARRIAGE".  Oh joy.

Now that the worst parts over, and tying the serendipity of these two things together, I guess we can all be grateful that the Rolling Stone brought to light the irreconcilable differences -- and like any good divorce, it's all for the better.  And yeah, Petraeus!  Besides the obvious humor in the fact that our Commander in Chief returned to a general whom Bush handpicked to save the day in Iraq, watching the mercury rising in thin skinned Obama for a couple days could very well have been great entertainment -- if it weren't for the reality that we were still right smack in the middle of a war.

But that's just the way of the world these days, isn't it.  If things don't work out, walk away.  If you can't say something nice, say it anyway and carry on.  If the right thing for the whole is the wrong thing for a few, protest, light a car on fire, call each other names, ridicule and fall back on partisan politics. But in the end, oh we should be so proud, Rolling Stone, a magazine!, changed the tempo of a war! overnight!  Wow.  One might think there was a conspiracy involved, but that would be just juvenile, wouldn't it.

Things just weren't working out in dem dare hills of Afghanistan.  There were mounting frustrations, they were behind schedule, there were irreconcilable differences between civilian command and McCrystal, it was turning out to be the highest month of record in losing our troops, with a looming deadline only a year away;  a game-changer, an affair of the heart, a loss of loyalty's, a punch in commitment and faith, was just what we needed to turn things upside down and find a way out or a way back in.

Something had to give.  Something had to change.  Something had to bring new life into the arranged marriage that it is -- having nothing to do with McCrystal, but everything to do with the bigger picture, of America and Afghanistan; otherwise, we would lose all sense and sensibilities of the inherent relationship worthy of repair and the very reasons we were together in the first place.  The truth is, no relationship can successfully live on the brink for long -- for indifference kills whatever spark is left.

The "I Don't" article declares right up front,

"Once upon a time, marriage made sense.  It was how women ensured their financial security, got the fathers of their children to stick around, and gained access to a host of legal rights. But 40 years after the feminist movement established our rights in the workplace, a generation after the divorce rate peaked, and a decade after Sex and the City made singledom chic, marriage is -- from a legal and practical standpoint, at least -- no longer necessary."

Ah no need to read anymore.  It is done. Finished.  If you go on to read the arguments against marriage, it will not disappoint, surely, these two "educated, young, urban professionals, committed to our careers, friendships, and yes, relationships" have it all figured out.

Kind of like Afghanistan, America gets swooped off her feet, only to be left with still the majority of the house cleaning and chores, even if in fact bringing home substantially more bacon, shouldering way more than her fair share of the overhead -- and if that weren't enough, left alone to deal with the kids, or unscrupulous dictator, more often than not -- a raw deal, indeed.

But with the high speed modern world, changing war tactics via the pages of a magazine, living in the new era of the "more educated and less religious" -- like Europe, as the case has us led to believe -- we can see right through the sanctity of marriage along with any other complicated commitments made around the world for what they truly are, as merely the outdated, war-torn, archaic symbols of domestic and foreign relations alike.

We quickly deteriorate into a world where "egalitarian, independent couples" turn us into "egalitarian, global communities" intertwined not for tradition, culture and the strength of family, but for the social justice of a different kind; systematically and liberally tearing down the very institutions that have made us and have made us good.

The thing is, with the help of the due diligence made self evident in "I Don't", clearly feminists are to blame for society breaking down before our very eyes as we speak -- no it is not a mirage, it is true; bearing in mind that "41% of American births that occurred outside the marriage in 2008 -- the highest figure ever recorded", along with the 30-50% high school drop out rates from east to west, our children being raised in a sea of instability while under the spell of reality TV, scandal,  nonexistent parenting and liberal indoctrination, oh and let us not forget, the gluttony of the "less religious and more educated" re-framing and advocating less God and more Mao-ism mindset as the new way and the new truth and the new light....you're right, who needs the institution of marriage any longer, we are doing so much better the further we fall away from something so Betty Crocker like that.

I looked up on Yahoo Answers just how Atheists get married, just for kicks and giggles. It was the strangest thing.  Of course, there were the general responses, like "on the beach, at the park..."  Then a few others caught my eye, one telling of her own experience saying it was "outside in a garden.  The ceremony was done by a Christian Minister, but only because he is a friend of mine."  another one simply noted, "an Atheist Unitarian Minister" -- just how many oxymoron's do you get out of that?

Even when we crave to get so far away from tradition in this modern world, somehow we still cling to a courage of convictions of all that is real and true in the expression of our commitment; we cannot help ourselves, we still clamor to make wholly and right -- before friends,  family, the entire world, even if under our own terms and conditions.   It still has to feel like it means something.

"I Don't" gets one thing really right -- marriage is far more than economics today.  We are learning that perhaps the rush into marriage at a young age, for traditions sake, posed a few issues -- especially for women.  But has the adverse of the last 40 years served us -- women and children -- any better?

Can we now wait to find our soul mate and tie the knot for all the right reasons, and grow families and have careers, without losing our ability to raise secure, thoughtful, compassionate, educated, spiritual creatures who grow up wise and wonderful, productive and happy, pillars of the community?

Can we now settle down ...and figure out really, truly how to get it all?  Because if this is the new feminism idea of marriage being no longer necessary, this culture of what's the point,  commitment/contempt-ment , nothing really matters except my career right now, my kids are fine, doesn't matter what the Constitution says, the Declaration of Independence has nothing to do with Natural Law and unalienable rights endowed by our creator, it is just a piece of paper, I read it in a magazine, shall we continue?

As a culture, we will not survive.

While Afghanistan may be in better hands now -- with second chances coming by way of General Petraeus leading us into a renewal of our vows -- what about us?

Borders mean something.  Boundaries mean something.  Commitments mean something.  Constitutions mean something.  Pieces of paper, embodying clear cut documentation of original intent,  all mean something.  And this world, our world, is testing this upon every level of society and living -- from the individual family, and extending far beyond, to the larger community we share.

What we have at stake in the age of enlightenment against the sanctity of marriage, as carefully laid out by Jessica Bennett and Jesse Ellison in a nutshell and in a magazine, is telling us far more than the life expectancy of the typical, and expendable, husband and wife scenario; but rather, the travesty of taking for granted that which we do not fully respect, j'adore, nor understand anymore as the "more educated and less religious" we become -- for it has ramifications.

Owning up to the ramifications will take more strength of character than every feminist put together; for it is not about you, your career, or who you hook up with, or for how long, is it. We do not do temporary living arrangements, short term commitments, multiple households, empty churches, broken children any better than long term soulless marriages from yesteryear.

As that reality sinks in, it should be mentioned that the secular custom of marriage, according to most every culture, was strengthened by religion as the modern world progressed; we, as a people, chose to bring in deity and ritual before God and family for a reason -- as we were made stronger, deeper and truer to each other in the process.  Not always; but contrary to one of the  "I Don't" boxes of note stating that "one in five U.S. marriages dissolves within five years" --  FOUR out of FIVE continue to proclaim I DO!

Oh it is good to be back.

Make it a Good Day, G

Dear America,

"wish I knew what you were looking for ...might have known what you would find mm m m mm mmm
something quite peculiar...something is shimmering and white..
leads you here despite your destination ...under the milky way tonight...under the milky way tonight"

Before we can begin 'The Mirage', the mini-series, we have some follow up on yesterday's little space cadet.  As that Shepard Smith on Crazy Town Fox News reported in his southern drawl early on, 'sure hope this little boy is just hiding somewhere and just doesn't want to be in trouble'...turns out his comments were not only fortuitous but right on the moon.  Falcon was found mid-afternoon after taking refuge in a box in the attic.

All's well that ends well, I guess, considering the situation.  I don't know about you  -- but for me, from the moment I left you and started watching the play by play surrounding Falcon's disappearance, listening to the commentators describe the turn of events, watching this hover-muffin for at least an hour, all I could think about was the thought that they couldn't have planned a better name for this boy --  I mean, if it was staged -- which it wasn't -- so don't pull a Rush on me and take what I just said out of context.

But geeze, Falcon?  Now that he's alright, except for the details of being grounded (hardy har har), I can't think of how any more perfect that stage name -- I mean, name name -- could be.  Certainly, it was better that he didn't venture off into the wild blue yonder in the shiny flying beret, but the near death experience should cement the 'do not try this at home' in his little head for some time to come.

It was interesting, however, the number of times I heard speculation of whether or not the whole thing was staged, designed, commanding attention for a publicity stunt...and by the looks of things, the discussion is not over, given what continues to come out of the mouths of babes.

Create a whirlwind of worry just for a show, or for effect, or to influence people?

Now just who would do that?

Again, don't take that out of context, I believe they DID NOT PLAN IT, the Heene Family -- nobody orchestrated anything.  That's what I believe to be true today (I don't know about tomorrow, I may change my mind).

But now, this Administration:
This is for real, people; and Rahm Emmanual is one of those "he [the annointed one] surrounds himself with" for effect or to transform a nation; but make no mistake, everyone in the White House have been handpicked by Obama, and all the President's men, specifically for their role, and have been preparing -- writing script and legislation, setting up scenarios of risks and bailouts, and have been waiting patiently backstage for just the right light to pull it off.

This isn't Hollywood dreaming up some creepy new story line, like in V; when all I've seen are commercials on it give me the shivers.  I'm sure I'll have nightmares tonight just imagining these people from space with that reverberated voice saying 'we come in peace, we do no harm, we  are here to help you and bring you harmony and health care'.  really? no, seriously, she really said health care.

The creepiest part was the clip where this space chick is beginning an interview, the guy asks her something before they get started, of which I can't remember, as it was her response that blew me away: "Just be sure not to ask us anything that would paint us in a negative light."  Huh?  Ahh, just doesn't get any better than that.

Of course, she isn't real, only make believe -- I wasn't born yesterday --  I know not everything we see on TV is true.  Let me repeat that:
Not everything we see on TV is true.

It is no accident that all during Obama's campaign, he positioned himself squarely with everyone.  He answered all the right questions with all the right answers.  You were there, I don't need to tell you.

He created stages wherever he went; surrounding himself with his followers.  He mimicked Martin Luther King and projected a man in the middle; a man who would straighten out Washington, because all those guys were very very bad (even though he was already one of 'em). Yeah, you saw that too.

He said he would not give any jobs to lobbyist; they wouldn't even get a guest pass.  He would open up C-SPAN for all decision making processes of legislation - because we will be the administration of transparency.  Yeah, you were there for that, too.

And how about that night in Denver?  Wow.  Outrageous...it truly felt like the second coming -- not that I was there for that, were you?

Well all of that is well and good for the campaign!  It was, for all the marbles.  It was, going for broke with deep pockets.  It was, all is fair in love and war.  It was, the final frontier to the mother ship.

But the show is supposed to be over now; staging is out and reality is in; could somebody please send him the memo?  They like usurping documents from the CIA, how about we just tempt them with rumour of new classified material, mentioning under our breath they might possibly be interested in taking a glance, no questions asked if they simply walk away with it...go ahead...do it...nobody's looking.

All I can hope for is they start to get tired, what are the chances you think?  Aww, that's pretty silly of me  -- just yesterday Obama was speaking to his followers in New Orleans telling them, "I'm just getting started!"  It was his first visit since he took office to Katrina's damage epicenter; while he looked so fired up,  makes you wonder what plane his reality is truly based, given the dynamics of destruction hitting America with gale force winds.

Besides the staging, the favorable audience, the teleprompter and props (you know, like doctors, and activists planted @ tea party events and town hall meetings, and children singing), it all comes down to spin -- and the virtual timing of that spin.

Oh sure, some things can be decided right away, like GITMO, done; signed into foreclosure day two of his Presidency (of course, doing it is a different story -- another producer needs to pick up on where he left off).

And some stories we think are coming to a dramatic close rather abruptly because, and I'm paraphrasing, 'it must be done for Americans, and cannot wait any longer, and Congress must act before summer recess...'  (what is turning out as somewhere lost in space, the health care bill was supposed to have been a direct hit onto the American people --aside from the fact that the actual implementation of rewards being not until 2013, yet new taxation starting immediately -- yeah, no illusions there.)

While other plot lines meander and turn and just take months to unfold, as we, the people sit and wait.

Take for example the Afghanistan war,
In the campaign, this was THE war to WIN; Bush was stupid, and  his sentiments were simply this, 'if I were in charge I would put more troops over there to get it done right, so there!'  Now that he is there, in the oval office that is, it would seem he's been having a series of technical difficulties -- his mojo ain't a go-go on this one.

In March-- the 27th to be exact and to his credit -- he got a real strategy, this is what I want, now go, away with you... More troops were sent (actually the troops that were already scheduled to go from the previous administration)
Then he stopped ( I think he thought he was done).

By June, however, he got a new General (somebody who really knew what he was doing).
Then he stopped.

Things then started to heat up.  Rumours started flying. The possibility for more troops may be requested per the General so he got a little queasy, I mean uneasy, but not enough to meet actually with the General (until the people heard all about it on 60 Minutes).
Then he did -- meet with the General (for all of 30 minutes on the tarmac in Copenhagen after his commercial for Chicago to the Olympic Committee).
Then he stopped.

Then he developed the idea to bring in Joe, let him push his ideas around a bit and show the people great contemplation over a serious matter (cuz he knows Joe, he's totally not into it).
Then he stopped.

Recently, the fraudulent elections throw in another reason to stop...because that's what they were afraid of all along, I told you so... (like now he decides to be interested in voter fraud).
Even still, he stopped some more.

Yesterday, however, he's signed off on giving 7 Billion dollars to Paaak-e-staan-- who's first concern was that there may be too many strings attached (hello, anyone see a red flag here?).

Today, we are still stopped; or maybe he's just committed to the holding pattern indefinitely and we're just unaware, circling Pluto.  He wants us to believe that he is really taking a hard look at his options when its more like a hard look at how do I get out of this, searching for the black hole.

Now I'm no General, but isn't timing and follow through everything here?   As I understand, we had Afghanistan handled in a very short period of time originally, but we strategically left them vulnerable, and are consequently paying the price for that now.  Isn't there a lesson here from what we already learned, we gotta get in and get it done and stay put, otherwise we will be playing cat and mouse for a very long time to come; and just maybe, we don't have much time.

While what truly bugs, the whole world is watching -- even Iran, Pakistan, Russia, China, N.Korea, Venezuela, and Cuba.  I'm not sure what they think, but surely the back and forth, the indecision, the lack of fortitude and constant second guessing ourselves does not help matters, and must make America appear rather weak.  How do you say chicken in Arabic?  Why would an administration want to do that?

Everything coming out of this administration hasn't set right with anybody; and even though they would never admit it, I don't even think Democrats are happy; our country is flying like that little hovercraft we saw yesterday just hoping to find a tether some time soon.

And yet image is everything.  Most stupid Americans think its great that Europeans like us again.

I'm sorry, what have they done for us lately -- oh, it doesn't matter; for the agenda continues to take top billing on the President's list of priorities and scheduling of parties and visits.  It is a matter of our National Security and Global Transformation  to change the American image in the face of Europeans -- to cajole, bow, kiss up and make nice and apologize for everything -- including probably the Revolutionary War if we close our eyes for even a second.

Problem is, not only does this administration want to make nice with our allies -- he is acting like he wants to invite dictators over to make mud pies in the back yard, turn the White House into a big space ship, and let them spend the night  in the Lincoln bedroom if given the chance.

Go out and make it a good day, play a little, it's Friday x G
