It's a Salute and a Salutation on the Day...while searching for a little salvation Thing

Dear America,

"Domestic, but not domesticated."
just the bottom line from a Dodge Charger commercial,
currently running between plays during the first Sunday of football

Football may be the main thing on the day --
but alas, firmly planted along the sidelines sits a day in our history we will never forget.

It is the day being honored with flags, military salutes, moments of silence, and a passionate display of hands crossing hearts as we stand and sing to the National Anthem, with many of us brought to tears.

For it is the fifteenth anniversary of 9/11.

Protecting the nation from evil, both foreign and domestic, has become the mission of nearly each and every day since 2001.

And so we -- as in you and me -- will begin this day in America contemplating how things DOMESTIC actually requires a certain DOMESTICATED integrity in order to remain solid and secure; ultimately,  without achieving this kind of homogenized, thoroughly assimilated, domestication  -- from the mountains to the prairies, to the oceans white with foam  --  our life, wealth, liberty, and happiness will falter, and falter big.

Being the generation of 9/11 and just two weeks into kindergarten when the twin towers fell -- my girl recently reminded me of just how deeply rooted in nothing her generation truly lives...

...for during their most impressionable years, the world revolved around terror, fear, living with the unknown right next door or across a big, bad, far and wide, ocean -- with sea creatures, and monsters and all, oh my...  With hostility among nations high, diplomatic efforts choosing sides, our children advanced from grade school to middle school to high school, struggling to grasp English Literature, Trigonometry, and Political Science in an environment that, through no fault of their own stars, prompted hardly a sophomoric reaction,  but a downright revolt.

These millennials grew into the attitude of YOLO!-- you only live once, bitches! -- and facebook-ed, twitter-ed, instagram-ed their lives with every once of apathy and self-centered-ness they could muster [my girl being the exception, and not the rule, of course.  tee hee].  Clinging to their phones at the hip as if their lives depended on it.

For all intents and purposes -- especially those purposes under heaven and designed by God himself -- this generation questions the reality of such a God, pitting religious wars against religious zealots and arriving at the ridiculous, one size fits all, answer that all religious idiots are to blame; for how could a loving God allow such pain and horror and atrocities to hit this land is my land and your land and not stop it, right?  How could He? Hey, millennials, meet Free Will-y. (Not the orca...and not Bill Clinton's nickname for his dingaling, silly)

 Hello.

So our culture -- domestically speaking -- is revisiting seeds of revolution from all kinds of sources --  for, sadly, it knows nothing of the America this girl knows and  was raised.

Domesticated, is almost like a bad thing these days.

From the feminists to the leftists, the "undocumented" to the refugee,  the agnostics to the atheists to the secularists to the socialists and back to the leftists again -- domesticated ways are a thing of the past.  Progressive ways have hit us with a hostile takeover of all things domestic -- traditions, holidays, from our fundamentals to our rule of law, nothing is sacred; even bake sales and lemonade stands are capitalizing upon a side of Americana thoroughly shrugged; anything that looks like, or acts like, conventional domestication sparks calls of intolerance and/or bigotry, preferably both, when blown up in the arena of public opinion.  Send in the lions and you can keep the clowns.

Abraham Lincoln warned us, didn't he....

"At what point then is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer, if it ever reach us, it must spring up amongst us. It cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen, we must live through all time, or die by suicide."
--January 27, 1838 Lyceum Address

In other words, America will never be destroyed from the outside, if we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves...

At this time of reflection -- upon the horror, perpetrated by Radical Islamic Extremists, fifteen years ago today -- my attention takes me to evil, both foreign and domestic; for by the grace of God, I'm still here and able to take a long look back, with hopes of making an honest assessment of  things seen and unseen.  Of course, this girl doesn't have all the answers; but I pray and trust in the Divine Providence that still reigns over this land -- both yours and mine -- and thankfully, whether you believe in God or not.

Lincoln would be so sad if he were walking around all 6'4 tall today.  He would wonder what happened to our soul, what happened to our great love of doing right -- for "right makes might," alright.

Even with what America endured during the Civil War -- hundreds of thousands of men lost their lives (and the majority of them being WHITE mind you; but let's just focus on the whites fighting for what's right, for the UNION --  records show about 330,000 white men fought and lost their lives on behalf of the side of freedom and liberty and emancipation for all!)...and look at us now.

Star Parker, founder of CURE, noted recently that "according to the U.S. Census, between 1890 and 1950, blacks had higher marriage rates than whites.  The  Black family flourished when we were freed from slavery!  Today, though, blacks have an out-of-wedlock birthrate of 73 percent! With broken families come poverty, dependency, crime and death."
Destruction is rising up from within the black community and it makes me cry  -- between babies born out of wedlock, between the ill-conceived agenda of Black Lives Matter, between gang life in the inner cities, between the resurgence of the New Black Panthers  -- if blacks are feeling lost and broken... a demographic that shows  94%  of it's people feeling positive to pretty sure there is a GOD -- what chance does America have really?

Only about 61% of whites believe in full faith there is a God, with maybe another 20%  who could be swayed, maybe, and only if their football team wins and a full moon shines, which leaves lots of room for doubt....  lots of room for doubt....and idols....leaves lots of room for idols too...maybe even our own big, bad self, with pictures to prove it on instagram.

Where do we go from here?  The nation of liberty for all is being torn asunder...from the roots.

And so to our children we look for what our future holds --

and what do we see?

generally speaking and to coin a phrase from my darling girl --  NOTHING. This next generation's got nothing.  Nothing to add, nothing to subtract, just nothing.
No God,  No belief system greater than themselves.  No hope.   No rule of law or faith in authority, no Easter vacation (its spring break don't ya know).    No work for less than $15/hour.  No direction unless you're taking a road trip, cuz you only live once, right....

They don't see this land as anything to uphold, or protect, or to serve -- as a duty, to God and to country -- because they don't believe the country will make it passed a week from Tuesday, and that's looking on the bright side.  And besides, leftists teachers have denigrated and discredited every good thing America stands for or has done right, to date, so why spend the energy to defend such a hell hole, right?   Not until such time equality lives and reigns for all, and cops stop shooting unarmed, defenseless, innocent black men, right Colin?

And crazy is as crazy does --

A California university is the latest public school of higher education to establish African-American-priority housing in response to demands from black students seeking refuge from what they consider insensitive remarks and “microaggressions” from their white classmates...This space would also serve as a safe space for [black students] to congregate, connect, and learn from each other."

Blacks asking to be segregated?  Really?
How is it that we have returned to the 1960's under the first African-American president?

Things just don't add up.

The whole idea of making America -- and keeping America pretty great -- is by assimilation into one American culture: one that carries in its highest regard, the essential and equal opportunity for building a life of faith, family, and freedom for all.

All things domestic demand a certain level of domestication, through and through -- from our schools, to our churches, to our town halls, to our neighborhoods, to our congress, to our White House -- otherwise, we get chaos,

Get out the Lincoln Logs, for Right Makes Might -- this is how good cultures survive and thrive; how can there be any disagreement with that?  Civility and Liberty is worth a war, but may it only take an a little kicking and screaming, a good chat over a beer after.

Yes.  The destruction of 9/11 remains to be a day we will never forget in our hearts and minds.  And to those first responders still living with trauma, loss, the ill effects of being one of the brave who did the right thing and rushed right in to save someone's wife, husband, son, or daughter -- we owe you our deepest thanks...always and every day.  To the families who are remembering a loved one, reopening a wound as fresh as the day itself -- may the memory of love grab hold of you and bring you peace.

and yet,
it may just be,
as I sit here, gazing upon the instagram account of our country upon this wretched day...
another great destruction is happening under the cover of darkness, or even in the light of day, with images appearing every nanosecond, recording their every move  -- and that is the distinct failing of this generation upon the next generation to understand just what America is all about. It's a snapchat of a big fail.

And for the purpose of trying to relate, maybe even make light of it all,..aw hell, for what have we got to lose but perhaps everything... YOLO!   -- perhaps we start here:

the good, the bad, and the ugly walked into a bar...each of them ordered an ale and in good turn, they built a country!  God speed.

the next round is on you, America!

...if the good Lord's willing and the freak don't rise.

Make it a Good Day, G

and speaking of fears, both foreign and domestic --
be prepared for Biden to come in to salvage the day for the democrats...
Hillary is sick,...this time, "pneumonia " ....she's just not going to make it for the long haul....but what do I know, I'm just a girl who's a part of the followers of Trump now...she probably puts me in the "basket of deplorables."
