It's IN GOD WE TRUST Thing

Dear America,

"You have legislation

wow. right?

Context: Rep. Randy Forbes brought forward legislation affirming "In God We Trust" as our nation's motto -- and overwhelmingly, with a vote of 396 - 9, the House approved.

Not only does our president immediately march out to the podium to mock this action, he actually says something to the effect of 'like, what good is that?'   when he adds, "that's not putting people back to work!"

Yeah, right, he "trusts" God -- but like, not that much; in his eyes, this motto sucks because like, God, can only do so much, right?  God is limited, according to the Golden Child.  Sounding an awful lot like he thinks of himself to be smarter and more all-knowing than God, Itself, he quips, "God wants to see us help ourselves..."  ergo, and approve my jobs bill.

AND just the way he makes it a question!

Really, Mr. President?
Anyone taking this statement out of context may allow for plenty of room to make a case against our country's entire foundation, as found in the words of our Declaration of Independence, which invokes the power of Divine Providence and Nature's Law and Nature's God throughout; lest we ignore the rather huge opening you leave us with, questioning your own true beliefs.

But for the sake of this conversation today, let's just run with giving you the benefit of the doubt....that perhaps you didn't mean it in that way... that you may have misspoke a wee bit...that you didn't mean to insinuate the fundamental ignorance of handing over our trust to God (...kinda like every other intellectual, liberal elitist who clearly wishes for this country to march through, over, and beyond God as quickly as we possibly can) .

Mr.  Oh "I trust in God, BUT..." Bama....seriously?

So yesterday, in the naming of the blog itself,  "It's Fundamental Change without the Fundamentals Thing"  -- I will gladly admit, I was mocking the conscious choices made by this president to run as far away from our nation's fundamentals as he could get.   But little did I know the president would support my charge with such a blatant show of one-ups-man-ship of our tried and true fundamentals the very next day.  The audacity of the man, really.

Keep on bringing it, Mr. O, that's all I got to say; keep on keepin' on; because the more you open that mouth of yours, the more I have to talk about.  amen!

So speaking of the limited power of God -- mythology, demons and angels in general and in particular --  here's a few cogent points "Debunking Obama's Latest Jobs Myth":  GO to  The Heritage Foundation.

Our foundation, calls for each one of us to be stewards of our own good self-government, with the firm belief and faith in something Greater than ourselves -- calling It whatever you wish; for "God," Itself,  IS the most generic and yet the Most High, the most profound, all at the same time.

Our foundation, marking our best and first intentions, set a course to Trust in God -- that Divine Providence Thing --  both in the micro and in the macro; so much so, we developed a brand new world -- the world's first Republic outlining the principles and values of faith within the fine print and bold declarations making our feelings, faith, fundamentals widely known.

While drafting our individual self-reliance as one of the cornerstones; we, the people, became the new king in town.   We, the people, held all the power to capitalize on Life, Liberty, in the Pursuit of Happiness.  We, the people,  would reign for all time through the power of a LIMITED Government and under an UNLIMITED GOD.

IN God We Trust is not a slogan to hang new legislation on.  It is a way of Life; it is a firm belief, inside and out, with or without, in sickness and in health; it is a marriage made Absolute and resilient for all time.

Spinning this into something more personal, I am reminded of a class I took at my church.  It was simply called Financial Freedom.  Even though the material was from a long while back -- like almost twenty years -- the basics of it are still very much a part of my everyday consciousness.

The most essential element probably being the one which demonstrably thanks God within the daily routine -- shouting out thank you out of the blue or after something good happens!  thinking it in the back of our mind like a meditation!  waking up in the morning making it our very first thought!   -- that sort of thing.

The idea is that we are circulating our good graces -- we are fueling the universe with appreciation and reverence for all of God's gifts [be it our talents, our pocketbook, our children, our life's work, etc...]

And the more we circulate -- keeping this pure joy in motion -- the more it builds upon itself.  For even our 'Financial Freedom' has a life force of it's very own.   We can be of the negative... reactionary....stifling... repelling kind... believing that 'the world does not have enough' mindset  -- OR - we can be of the multiplying.... abundant... forthcoming... unlimited kind...believing that 'there is plenty to go around' mindset.  [another exercise in the power of good over evil....]

But the point is, the power to decide 'how to think' is within every one of us [and, of course, it also plays into being an integral part as to the outcome].  That power is not by proclamation from government, but by affirmation, and individual atonement, with God's grace. [For more along those lines, read more about Nature's Law...google it...it is, after all, the one, the only, real true green energy you know.]

The Occupy Wall Street people -- fully supported by this administration, by the way -- is of the mindset of 'not enough.'  I don't have enough, so you need to give me what you have. Share the wealth! cuz Lord knows, I don't trust God to do it....

Start writing "thank you God" on the memo line of your checks and see what happens.  Start appreciating what you already have.  If nothing else, give thanks for being able to freely speak, for goodness sakes.  For every little thing -- good and bad -- look up and say thank you; there is reason back behind every little thing that happens.

Be a part of the conscious, positive, abundant, unlimited-ness in the world around you and all of a sudden the world around you will respond -- in buckets sometimes.

Case in point: the natural world never questions the magnificence of God; the trees never look upon other trees thinking to themselves, I don't have enough leaves... acorns... flowers...fruit...you need to give me some of yours -- they just LIVE!

Sure.  It sounds silly; but I beg of you, start recognizing how much of the natural world accepts where they are and makes the best of it.  Bear witness to nature's affirmations all around -- that the sunflowers really do stand tall and keep their face to the sun!  That there are thousands of polar bear thriving right now, in the natural, in spite of climate change.  The natural world revels just as much in the dead of night as it does upon morning light.  The natural world adapts to circumstances, never settling into the realm of 'not enough.'  It just keeps going.

This is the kind of faith our founders had in mind. The inherent mindset was one of UNLIMITEDNESS and total, absolute, abundance all the way around.  Circulating.  Thriving.  Living.  Capitalizing upon God's good graces.

And when we have a-good-and-plenty, we share it with others from the goodness embedded in our heart; taking care of the community and the common good through our churches and charities, knowing we have more than enough to go around.

This is why we affirm the motto, In God We Trust.  This is why our fundamentals are so vitally important.  It all connects to back to the Divine in all things we do -- individually and collectively.

it's a fundamental transformation kind of affirmation, that's what it is.

It's a Let God Out of the Closet Thing

Dear America,

So the founders built it, so that we may come into a world of freedom and liberty for all, in equal opportunity.

Given we are still discussing nation building, thanks to our dear president bringing up it's importance -- how can we not begin without looking at the very start of it all -- our birth, our early education and environment, how we nurture and teach our children to be of good character, of strong body, of kind spirit, and smart -- really, really smart.

As this sort of thing doesn't just happen by accident, you know.

It takes a village, sure.  But how often are we really in, say, "the village?"  And, how much of that early life is spent simply at home?  And just how stable is that home of ours?  These are all really good questions, if I don't say so myself.

This may be leaning a bit off the subject, but here in San Diego, we have had an unusual rash of entire families, parents and children, killed in a homicide/suicide scenario.  Three families, in fact, over about the last three weeks, are gone.  We talked about the stresses of life just yesterday -- and mostly in jest; but the reality is, in times like these, pressures of raising "good" kids doesn't even get on the top ten list of things to do today, for parents are being drowned, suffocated, buried, in a level of stress that puts just getting food on the table taking over nearly every waking thought.

And in these cases close to home, it all became too much.  A parent not only took their own life, but the life of their children along with; and according to Geraldo, at least 1000 kids a year are killed at the hand of their own parent...roughly three a day.

SO our strength to persevere must come from somewhere, right?  And to come right out with it, that is usually our faith.  See here, a current Gallop poll outlining some of the numbers.

70% of us still believe in Something outside of ourselves; and 41% consider themselves VERY religious, and 29% call themselves moderately religious...while, just 30% put themselves squarely in the NON-religious category.   If we were to break out the group of NON-religious: 29% lean towards GOP, 16% lean independent, and a whopping 54% lean Democrat.

So this poll makes me wonder -- how is it possible then, showing a country which leans seventy percent of the time towards believing in SOMETHING greater than ourselves, a God -- how is it that we have grown so anti-God in our everyday life -- say, in the village?  What, so as soon as we pop our head out our front door, we are supposed to leave our religion at home now?

Sorry.  That dog ain't gonna hunt.
This is not what our founders intended.

Our founders, lived from a place of believing -- a place that fully acknowledged Divine Providence had It's hand in the very making, and the building, and the reinforcing, and the maintenance,  in celebration of all good things to come.


Our founders protected us -- we the people -- FROM government telling us what to believe, and controlling us through the pulpit. It was hardly the situation of the other way around; this land, this nation, was built so that we could wear our religion every day, in school, in the grocery store.. at Home Depot, at Cisco..in the town square, in the village...and not be vilified for it.

And even though real Christianity had great influence upon our founders direction, in that Divine Providence kind of way,  the truth is, America's religion grew from a place so much bigger than that -- for we are living the dream of people like Cicero, that dates back two thousand years! A chief component of Cicero's politic was based upon  "rules of 'right conduct' with the law of the Supreme Creator of the universe...the only intelligent approach to government, justice, and human relations is in terms of the laws which the Supreme Creator has already established." [from The 5000 Year Leap]

Cicero explains this Natural Law in greater detail by saying:

"True law is right reason in agreement with nature; it is of universal application, unchanging and everlasting; it summons to duty by its commands, and averts from wrongdoing by its prohibitions...It is a sin to try to alter this law, nor is it allowable to repeal any part of it [G's favorite part] and it is impossible to abolish it entirely.  We cannot be freed from its obligations by senate or people, and we need not look outside ourselves for an expounder or interpreter of it.  And there will not be different laws in Rome and at Athens, or different laws  now and in the future, but one eternal and unchangeable law will be valid for all nations, and all times, and there will be one master and ruler, that is God, over us all, for he is the author of this law, its promulgator, and its enforcing judge.  Whoever is disobedient is fleeing from himself and denying his human nature, and by reason of the very fact he will suffer the worst punishment."  [Quoted in Ebenstein, Great Political Thinkers, p.133, duly noted in The 5000 Year Leap, p. 40]

Having said that -- and might I suggest sitting with Cicero for as long as you possibly can here -- just imagine now,  how great Thou art.  We are made in America from this cloth; our heritage is rich, masterful, resting on the greatest thinkers of all time!   But here we all come along this one fine day in Two Thousand and Eleven in the Year of our Lord with every intention to uproot every bit of it.  Oh the bloody arrogance and stupidity just blows me away.

Do you think for one minute that the Academia-in-Chief, and the Liberal Organizers for America everywhere, really care about Divine Providence anymore? 

Newsflash:  IT still lives here. God Is and there is nothing you can say or do to change It.

Just because you wish to extinguish all life, liberty, tradition based on life Under God, doesn't mean the rest of us -- the 70% -- stand to agree.  talking to you, King George Soros.

Do you want to live in a world without a living breathing loving soul?  yeah, me neither.

Back to the building of a nation:  start with each and every baby we bring into this world.  And it continues through pre-school, early education, high school, college -- up until they move out and find a village of their own to call home.

So according to the Gallop poll, we do raise our children in a home that lives under God in some fashion -- seventy percent say  that we do, anyway.  That is the good news.

Bad news:  the village doesn't reinforce It's magnificence.  Matter of fact, the village is growing quite tired of even mentioning It's name out loud. The village has decided for us, that it is more appropriate to go by way of pop culture, offering a world of fleeting gods and goddesses, an agenda of many names, of organizations reigning supreme to capture our hearts, steal our money, and exploit our every resource for the "common good."  Sounds a lot like the Church of England, doesn't it? Who needs God, when we have the church of mother earth to tend to, right?

And if that were not enough -- as we have slowly taken away prayer in schools, replacing character building with community organizing, and after years of indoctrinating our children with far left curriculum going against our free market, avenging capitalism, discouraging critical thinking in every way, NOW, we are up against a whole 'nother paradigm -- the onslaught of a brand new agenda focused purely on redefining love, marriage, sexuality, and family.

Perhaps if we included lifestyle differences without demolishing and discrediting traditional relationships and marriage, our children might have half a chance.  But that is certainly not the case, is it?  is it?

Truth is, we have taken God, and our relationship with the Creator totally out of school -- one might even say, that It has been expelled for life. Hit the road, jack, and doncha come back, no more no more. The village has decided that we no longer want you, God; that we no longer need you, God;  that we got this thing called life totally handled.  The village people say, that our children no longer need to give God a second thought.

How can that be when our entire existence as a nation was built upon a belief in Something greater than ourselves -- that Divine Providence led our founders every step of the way -- how can that be?

What is the village so afraid of?

I have a pretty good idea, but that is for you to decide.

But more important, with 70% of the nation leaning to believing in Something, how can it be that our curriculum, that which is responsible for raising our children, allows for this kind of injustice?

How can it be, that all of a sudden, it is totally permissible to teach gay and lesbian relationships, transgender modification, even honoring transvestites and cross dressing 2.0, while curriculum based on building good character, good conscience, critical thinking beyond ourselves -- of what it means on being human, our connection to Something greater than ourselves, and what does God tell us -- is outlawed?

If we believe in treating all people with respect, if we believe in tolerance, if we believe in civil liberties both right and left, then for our children's sake -- then the village must open it's doors to the full curriculum; meaning, the village cannot play God for the rest of us -- and if they insist upon teaching our kids 'that stuff', then our kids deserve a balance of THIS stuff... the stuff that God made...along with it. 

The reality is, our children are in the cross-hairs of a political agenda.

The reality is, nearly 1000 children are killed at the hand of their own mother or father; but the real stunner, the one that the front page never talks about, is that hundreds of thousands are dying a slow death in a liberal education.

...leading the reader through the rest of the story, right to the end, when it welcomes into the room a full discussion of what are stars -- asking what idea is 'natural and beautiful', etc. etc. Just harmless questions making a child truly think for himself!  The child who happens to be of a "non-religious" family, can simply say they do not believe stars are connected to a God at all.  I guess, maybe that would be, in this day and age, about 30% of the class.  But who's counting, right?

The thing is, we stopped nation building, when we ceased teaching our children a deeper connection to all of life and our inherent duty, to ourselves and each other, to maintain 'right conduct' -- with or without God.  

"The sum of all is, if we would most truly enjoy the gift of heaven, let us become a virtuous people; then shall we both deserve and enjoy it.  While, on the other hand, if we are universally vicious and debauched in our manners, though the form of our Constitution carries the face of the most exalted freedom, we shall in reality be the most abject slaves." We must allow ourselves, and especially our children, to walk with God -- out in the open. What is the harm?

As a parent, as a citizen, as a believer, I know this to be true.

It's an Obedient Drudge Sort of Thing

Dear America,

"This day, I trust the reign of political protestantism will commence. We have explored the temple of royalty, and found that the idol we have bowed down to, has eyes which see not, ears that hear not our prayers, and a heart like the nether millstone. We have this day restored the Sovereign, to whom alone men ought to be obedient. He reigns in Heaven, and with a propitious eye beholds his subjects assuming that freedom of thought, and dignity of self-direction which He bestowed on them. From the rising to the setting sun, may His kingdom come."

this is Sam Adams addressing Congress, August 1, 1776;  the house was nearly ready to sign our Declaration of Independence.  and so begins a happy tuesday morn.

"Having been a slave to the influence of opinions early acquired, and distinctions generally received, I am ever inclined not to despise but pity those who are yet in darkness. But to the eye of reason what can be more clear, than that all men have an equal right to happiness? Nature made no other distinction than that of higher or lower degrees of power of mind and body. But what mysterious distribution of character has the craft of statesmen, more fatal than priestcraft, introduced?

According to their doctrine, the offspring of perhaps the lewd embraces of a successful invader, shall, from generation to generation, arrogate the right of lavishing on their pleasures a proportion of the fruits of the earth, more than sufficient to supply the wants of thousands of their fellow-creatures: claim authority to manage them like beasts of burden, and without superior industry, capacity, or virtue, nay, though disgraceful to humanity by their ignorance, intemperance, and brutality, shall be deemed best calculated to frame laws, and to consult for the welfare of society.

What an affront to the King of the universe, to maintain that the happiness of a monster, sunk in debauchery and spreading desolation and murder among men, of a Caligula, a Nero, or a Charles, is more precious in his sight than that of millions of his suppliant creatures, who do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with their God! No! in the judgment of Heaven there is no other superiority among men, than a superiority in wisdom and virtue. And can we have a safer model in forming ours?"

Worth repeating:  "Were the talents and virtues, which Heaven has bestowed on men, given merely to make then more obedient drudges, to be sacrificed to the follies and ambition of a few? or were not the noble gifts so equally dispensed with a divine purpose and law, that they should as nearly as possible be equally exerted, and the blessings of Providence be equally enjoyed by all?"


We have sunk so low, haven't we?

Today marks the day in history where our lawmakers will vote whether or not to allow for an increase in the debt limit without applying spending limits or restrictions first.  It is expected to be rejected....  and what an affront to the blessings of Divine Providence, if it were decided such, in unequal portion, if only to gratify the wayward ambition and folly equally dispensed, if we were to find, a fearing to rise above the common sense solution...

Just where is our Sam Adams today...oh where oh where can he be?

There is a fabulous website available, if in search of the truth, the way and the light, of America's history.   This speech upon one August morn, and a rather long one, at that, is made available in it's entirety and well worth the lending of your eyes, if such the leveraging of the sanctity of one's time against the value of timeless, if not priceless, snippet for all posterity, is deemed all that important.  Go Here for the whole thing.  If not, here is a bit more:

and with a simple warning, we no longer rest in the arms of our destiny in 1776, but venture through a time machine into the 21st century, living in "a state of tranquility, wealth and luxury" for so long now...the people, now fully integrated, having successfully entered the new era of forgetting our past, fall into decline, while "every art of corruption would be employed to loosen the bond of union which renders our assistance formidable."  And with one swift, debilitating motion, if not ten thousand waves, the "spirit of liberty," once emblazoned on our sleeves, displayed reverently and vibrantly within our hearts and minds, is gone.

Our freedom is living paycheck to paycheck -- increasing in depth and breadth of debt, following each and every tax year -- from here to Kingdom come.  Every original intention has been thrown by the wayside, and likewise, subsequently buried by unseemly governance, fodder of political folly, and utter ignorance of the words set forth, of their fullest intent indeed, made known and absolute within the people's Declaration of Independence and the nation's Constitution.

Blame, in equal portion, has been spread throughout the land -- ourselves included.

Perhaps this would be a good time for our leaders, and ourselves, to return to the eloquence and sophistication of an era gone by; perhaps this would be a good time to re-read our first intent, and re-acquaint ourselves with our founders, the enlightened minds and true statesmen, who with every breath, projected our highest and best good.

Neither shift of blame, nor the point of finger, will secure a reasonable, manageable future without the loss of face; we must therefore look in the mirror and reflect the truth we know within our hearts...as a people, either way --  to be thrust into austerity, or falter -- so essential is the need to suffer the consequences, for we must own this.

This is no time to play political games, twenty first century style, waging war upon the airwaves, feasting upon plain commercialism of untruths, using gluttonous attacks of character and virtue in thirty second fits of fury.

This is the time to be statesmen, and women, in order to unite together in the town square for a common cause.  Not only must we fight to preserve whatever it is we have left, but we must salvage the intricacies of our story and history, the background and context of a past long forgotten; a story thoroughly and completely scrutinized and scrubbed, by the same colleges who once stood for the glory of God,  bestowing every gratitude and thanksgiving and praise upon Him, and taught within that very framework, endowed by our Creator and made man, making available to generations of rising countrymen the continuation of God's grace upon this land...so that they too, would learn and grow and reflect that Magnificence back upon their fellow man, to make good. 

Culpable is the system rising out of ignorance, flamed by social justice, and guilty of blind allegiances to an elite crowd of learned men and women to false gods -- forgive them, for they know not what they do.  Or, do they?  why of course! that is the answer to end all questions of Divine Providence and grace be to all in equal portion!  TO end the era living freely under The Divine, that becomes the means to the ultimate end!

This morning begins a jaded G meeting up with the remains of a day gone by.  Can you tell?

And call your congressman:  as according to oh wise one, Timothy Geithner, we have until August 2, 2011 to decide our fate on our debt limit -- from now until then, we will bear witness to political posturing for all posterity -- in the spirit of liberty, it is time to state your claim now... don't hate... just sayin'
