It's about an Imperfect Impeachment Thing

Dear America,

so hi
it's been awhile.

some people have been all but consumed by the impeachment process over the last couple of months; while others have ignored it altogether. Depending upon where your mind was already made up, most Americans have not shifted one bit on where they stand...related to this travesty afoot.

for myself, I've been all but consumed by the callings of my life, and haven't given much time or thought towards the House hearings, let alone the recent decision to impeach this president from nothing but made up hearsay and partisan gobbledygook.

but given this is a diary of America, and given I haven't uttered a single word for weeks now, perhaps it is best to say something to mark this day in the life of America, for better or worse.

and lo and behold, when, what should my wandering eyes should appear, but a miniature sleigh... delivering a PERFECT letter to the speaker...

The Honorable Nancy Pelosi
Speaker of the House of Representatives
Washington, D.C. 20515

Dear Madam Speaker:

I write to express my strongest and most powerful protest against the partisan impeachment crusade being pursued by the Democrats in the House of Representatives.  This impeachment represents an unprecedented and unconstitutional abuse of power by Democrat Lawmakers, unequaled in nearly two and a half centuries of American legislative history.

The Articles of Impeachment introduced by the House Judiciary Committee are not recognizable under any standard of Constitutional theory, interpretation, or jurisprudence.  They include no crimes, no misdemeanors, and no offenses whatsoever.  You have cheapened the importance of the very ugly word, impeachment!

By proceeding with your invalid impeachment, you are violating your oaths of office, you are breaking your allegiance to the Constitution, and you are declaring open war on American Democracy.  You dare to invoke the Founding Fathers in pursuit of this election-nullification scheme—yet your spiteful actions display unfettered contempt for America’s founding and your egregious conduct threatens to destroy that which our Founders pledged their very lives to build.  Even worse than offending the Founding Fathers, you are offending Americans of faith by continually saying “I pray for the President,” when you know this statement is not true, unless it is meant in a negative sense.  It is a terrible thing you are doing, but you will have to live with it, not I!

Your first claim, “Abuse of Power,” is a completely disingenuous, meritless, and baseless invention of your imagination.  You know that I had a totally innocent conversation with the President of Ukraine.  I then had a second conversation that has been misquoted, mischaracterized, and fraudulently misrepresented.  Fortunately, there was a transcript of the conversation taken, and you know from the transcript (which was immediately made available) that the paragraph in question was perfect.  I said to President Zelensky:  “I would like you to do us a favor, though, because our country has been through a lot and Ukraine knows a lot about it.”  I said do us a favor, not me, and our country, not a campaign.  I then mentioned the Attorney General of the United States.  Every time I talk with a foreign leader, I put America’s interests first, just as I did with President Zelensky.

You are turning a policy disagreement between two branches of government into an impeachable offense—it is no more legitimate than the Executive Branch charging members of Congress with crimes for the lawful exercise of legislative power.

You know full well that Vice President Biden used his office and $1 billion dollars of U.S. aid money to coerce Ukraine into firing the prosecutor who was digging into the company paying his son millions of dollars.  You know this because Biden bragged about it on video.  Biden openly stated:  “I said, ‘I’m telling you, you’re not getting the billion dollars’…I looked at them and said: ‘I’m leaving in six hours.  If the prosecutor is not fired, you’re not getting the money.’  Well, son of a bitch.  He got fired.”  Even Joe Biden admitted just days ago in an interview with NPR that it “looked bad.”  Now you are trying to impeach me by falsely accusing me of doing what Joe Biden has admitted he actually did.

President Zelensky has repeatedly declared that I did nothing wrong, and that there was No Pressure.  He further emphasized that it was a “good phone call,” that “I don’t feel pressure,” and explicitly stressed that “nobody pushed me.”  The Ukrainian Foreign Minister stated very clearly:  “I have never seen a direct link between investigations and security assistance.”  He also said there was “No Pressure.”   Senator Ron Johnson of Wisconsin, a supporter of Ukraine who met privately with President Zelensky, has said: “At no time during this meeting…was there any mention by Zelensky or any Ukrainian that they were feeling pressure to do anything in return for the military aid.”  Many meetings have been held between representatives of Ukraine and our country.  Never once did Ukraine complain about pressure being applied—not once!  Ambassador Sondland testified that I told him: “No quid pro quo.  I want nothing.  I want nothing.  I want President Zelensky to do the right thing, do what he ran on.”

The second claim, so-called “Obstruction of Congress,” is preposterous and dangerous.  House Democrats are trying to impeach the duly elected President of the United States for asserting Constitutionally based privileges that have been asserted on a bipartisan basis by administrations of both political parties throughout our Nation’s history.  Under that standard, every American president would have been impeached many times over.  As liberal law professor Jonathan Turley warned when addressing Congressional Democrats: “I can’t emphasize this enough…if you impeach a president, if you make a high crime and misdemeanor out of going to the courts, it is an abuse of power.  It’s your abuse of power.  You’re doing precisely what you’re criticizing the President for doing.”

Everyone, you included, knows what is really happening.  Your chosen candidate lost the election in 2016, in an Electoral College landslide (306-227), and you and your party have never recovered from this defeat.  You have developed a full-fledged case of what many in the media call Trump Derangement Syndrome and sadly, you will never get over it!  You are unwilling and unable to accept the verdict issued at the ballot box during the great Election of 2016.  So you have spent three straight years attempting to overturn the will of the American people and nullify their votes.  You view democracy as your enemy!

Speaker Pelosi, you admitted just last week at a public forum that your party’s impeachment effort has been going on for “two and a half years,” long before you ever heard about a phone call with Ukraine.  Nineteen minutes after I took the oath of office, the Washington Post published a story headlined, “The Campaign to Impeach President Trump Has Begun.”  Less than three months after my inauguration, Representative Maxine Waters stated, “I’m going to fight every day until he’s impeached.”  House Democrats introduced the first impeachment resolution against me within months of my inauguration, for what will be regarded as one of our country’s best decisions, the firing of James Comey (see Inspector General Reports)—who the world now knows is one of the dirtiest cops our Nation has ever seen.  A ranting and raving Congresswoman, Rashida Tlaib, declared just hours after she was sworn into office, “We’re gonna go in there and we’re gonna impeach the motherf****r.”  Representative Al Green said in May, “I’m concerned that if we don’t impeach this president, he will get re-elected.”  Again, you and your allies said, and did, all of these things long before you ever heard of President Zelensky or anything related to Ukraine.  As you know very well, this impeachment drive has nothing to do with Ukraine, or the totally appropriate conversation I had with its new president.  It only has to do with your attempt to undo the election of 2016 and steal the election of 2020!

Congressman Adam Schiff cheated and lied all the way up to the present day, even going so far as to fraudulently make up, out of thin air, my conversation with President Zelensky of Ukraine and read this fantasy language to Congress as though it were said by me.  His shameless lies and deceptions, dating all the way back to the Russia Hoax, is one of the main reasons we are here today.

You and your party are desperate to distract from America’s extraordinary economy, incredible jobs boom, record stock market, soaring confidence, and flourishing citizens.  Your party simply cannot compete with our record: 7 million new jobs; the lowest-ever unemployment for African Americans, Hispanic Americans, and Asian Americans; a rebuilt military; a completely reformed VA with Choice and Accountability for our great veterans; more than 170 new federal judges and two Supreme Court Justices; historic tax and regulation cuts; the elimination of the individual mandate; the first decline in prescription drug prices in half a century; the first new branch of the United States Military since 1947, the Space Force; strong protection of the Second Amendment; criminal justice reform; a defeated ISIS caliphate and the killing of the world’s number one terrorist leader, al-Baghdadi; the replacement of the disastrous NAFTA trade deal with the wonderful USMCA (Mexico and Canada); a breakthrough Phase One trade deal with China; massive new trade deals with Japan and South Korea; withdrawal from the terrible Iran Nuclear Deal; cancellation of the unfair and costly Paris Climate Accord; becoming the world’s top energy producer; recognition of Israel’s capital, opening the American Embassy in Jerusalem, and recognizing Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights; a colossal reduction in illegal border crossings, the ending of Catch-and-Release, and the building of the Southern Border Wall—and that is just the beginning, there is so much more.  You cannot defend your extreme policies—open borders, mass migration, high crime, crippling taxes, socialized healthcare, destruction of American energy, late-term taxpayer-funded abortion, elimination of the Second Amendment, radical far-left theories of law and justice, and constant partisan obstruction of both common sense and common good.

There is nothing I would rather do than stop referring to your party as the Do-Nothing Democrats.  Unfortunately, I don’t know that you will ever give me a chance to do so.

After three years of unfair and unwarranted investigations, 45 million dollars spent, 18 angry Democrat prosecutors, the entire force of the FBI, headed by leadership now proven to be totally incompetent and corrupt, you have found NOTHING!  Few people in high position could have endured or passed this test.  You do not know, nor do you care, the great damage and hurt you have inflicted upon wonderful and loving members of my family.  You conducted a fake investigation upon the democratically elected President of the United States, and you are doing it yet again.

There are not many people who could have taken the punishment inflicted during this period of time, and yet done so much for the success of America and its citizens.  But instead of putting our country first, you have decided to disgrace our country still further.  You completely failed with the Mueller report because there was nothing to find, so you decided to take the next hoax that came along, the phone call with Ukraine—even though it was a perfect call.  And by the way, when I speak to foreign countries, there are many people, with permission, listening to the call on both sides of the conversation.

You are the ones interfering in America’s elections.  You are the ones subverting America’s Democracy.  You are the ones Obstructing Justice.  You are the ones bringing pain and suffering to our Republic for your own selfish personal, political, and partisan gain.

Before the Impeachment Hoax, it was the Russian Witch Hunt.  Against all evidence, and regardless of the truth, you and your deputies claimed that my campaign colluded with the Russians—a grave, malicious, and slanderous lie, a falsehood like no other.  You forced our Nation through turmoil and torment over a wholly fabricated story, illegally purchased from a foreign spy by Hillary Clinton and the DNC in order to assault our democracy.  Yet, when the monstrous lie was debunked and this Democrat conspiracy dissolved into dust, you did not apologize.  You did not recant.  You did not ask to be forgiven.  You showed no remorse, no capacity for self-reflection.  Instead, you pursued your next libelous and vicious crusade—you engineered an attempt to frame and defame an innocent person.  All of this was motivated by personal political calculation.  Your Speakership and your party are held hostage by your most deranged and radical representatives of the far left.  Each one of your members lives in fear of a socialist primary challenger—this is what is driving impeachment.  Look at Congressman Nadler’s challenger.  Look at yourself and others.  Do not take our country down with your party.

If you truly cared about freedom and liberty for our Nation, then you would be devoting your vast investigative resources to exposing the full truth concerning the FBI’s horrifying abuses of power before, during, and after the 2016 election—including the use of spies against my campaign, the submission of false evidence to a FISA court, and the concealment of exculpatory evidence in order to frame the innocent.  The FBI has great and honorable people, but the leadership was inept and corrupt.  I would think that you would personally be appalled by these revelations, because in your press conference the day you announced impeachment, you tied the impeachment effort directly to the completely discredited Russia Hoax, declaring twice that “all roads lead to Putin,” when you know that is an abject lie.  I have been far tougher on Russia than President Obama ever even thought to be.

Any member of Congress who votes in support of impeachment—against every shred of truth, fact, evidence, and legal principle—is showing how deeply they revile the voters and how truly they detest America’s Constitutional order.  Our Founders feared the tribalization of partisan politics, and you are bringing their worst fears to life.

Worse still, I have been deprived of basic Constitutional Due Process from the beginning of this impeachment scam right up until the present.  I have been denied the most fundamental rights afforded by the Constitution, including the right to present evidence, to have my own counsel present, to confront accusers, and to call and cross-examine witnesses, like the so-called whistleblower who started this entire hoax with a false report of the phone call that bears no relationship to the actual phone call that was made.  Once I presented the transcribed call, which surprised and shocked the fraudsters (they never thought that such evidence would be presented), the so-called whistleblower, and the second whistleblower, disappeared because they got caught, their report was a fraud, and they were no longer going to be made available to us.  In other words, once the phone call was made public, your whole plot blew up, but that didn’t stop you from continuing.

More due process was afforded to those accused in the Salem Witch Trials.

You and others on your committees have long said impeachment must be bipartisan—it is not.  You said it was very divisive—it certainly is, even far more than you ever thought possible—and it will only get worse!

This is nothing more than an illegal, partisan attempted coup that will, based on recent sentiment, badly fail at the voting booth.  You are not just after me, as President, you are after the entire Republican Party.  But because of this colossal injustice, our party is more united than it has ever been before.  History will judge you harshly as you proceed with this impeachment charade.  Your legacy will be that of turning the House of Representatives from a revered legislative body into a Star Chamber of partisan persecution.

Perhaps most insulting of all is your false display of solemnity.  You apparently have so little respect for the American People that you expect them to believe that you are approaching this impeachment somberly, reservedly, and reluctantly.  No intelligent person believes what you are saying.  Since the moment I won the election, the Democrat Party has been possessed by Impeachment Fever.  There is no reticence.  This is not a somber affair.  You are making a mockery of impeachment and you are scarcely concealing your hatred of me, of the Republican Party, and tens of millions of patriotic Americans.  The voters are wise, and they are seeing straight through this empty, hollow, and dangerous game you are playing.

I have no doubt the American people will hold you and the Democrats fully responsible in the upcoming 2020 election.  They will not soon forgive your perversion of justice and abuse of power.

There is far too much that needs to be done to improve the lives of our citizens.  It is time for you and the highly partisan Democrats in Congress to immediately cease this impeachment fantasy and get back to work for the American People.  While I have no expectation that you will do so, I write this letter to you for the purpose of history and to put my thoughts on a permanent and indelible record.

One hundred years from now, when people look back at this affair, I want them to understand it, and learn from it, so that it can never happen to another President again.

Sincerely yours,

DONALD J. TRUMP
President of the United States of America

It's Let's Roll with that New American Moment Thing

Dear America,

"Were we directed from Washington [city]
when to sow, and when to reap,
we should soon want bread."
Thomas Jefferson

well, there you go.  perfect.
spring up, oh well! Hail to the people's true independence -- of self-reliance and freedom, and surely with the grit to make anything happen!  Because that kind of spirit is back in business.

but about that other well......
after watching last night's first State of the Union address from President Trump...

seems nothing's changed, that well of discontent and divide -- that which is supplied and overflowing with tired cliches and poor in spirit,  the one bubbling over with astounding disrespect for the Union, itself, if  not every foundation upon which this nation was built -- oh that well still runs deep and wide.

In the most simplest of terms, Trump made about fifty points during the entire speech (ranking third longest in history) -- and it was primarily domestic, all the way up until we hit  #40:  Dealing with Rogue Regimes.  But even that was quickly made a domestic concern, as he trumpeted the Call to Congress to END the Sequester and fully fund our military.  amen to that.

The thing is, I could take each point one by one -- but I'm banking on the fact that you heard what I heard, so why repeat it, right?

This speech was all about bringing the two wells of thought together, to tap into what is good for ALL Americans -- and to sit on your hands with some blank expression, or worse, with a frown, upon the celebration of good things happening across the country -- oh that takes amazing showmanship.

That well is not happy even if conservatives promise to give a path to citizenship of 1.8 million illegals, I mean, "dreamers!"   That well can't even crack a smile if the market is booming, bonuses are bursting in air, and taxes slashed -- for both individuals and corporations.  That well hears of a 1.5 TRILLION dollar partnership between private American businesses and government, to rebuild and maintain sorely needed infrastructure improvements, and all the while, creating lots of jobs....and all that well can do is dig deeper into its own abyss of victimization and despair.

The best line of the night, "because Americans are Dreamers, too!"

yeah, so shut up.

Every single point made centered upon one reality -- that which is true and good for America and all Americans.

This spirit is what paved the way for Trump's lead early into the primary;  it's the same spirit that carried him over in the Electoral College, taking out the pathetic, lying, democratic candidate - Hillary Rodham Clinton; and it is the same spirit that will lead us into this New American Moment, as noted in the speech, and then some.

Every personal story -- represented and seated next to the First Lady or elsewhere within the Capitol Building  -- had a purpose, woven into his address, and dealt a solid blow to anyone who thinks America has seen better days, or is on the decline.  The level of human interest, invoked by the president, of each and every one of these people was not contrived, nor was it manufactured to make a point -- for Trump made them THE POINT.    It was genuine.  Sincere.  And at every moment, this girl was brought to tears.

And even though this day will not be about taking each point by point, this girl loved the moments when Trump went grand.  Here's a portion worthy of repeat --

The United States is a compassionate nation. We are proud that we do more than any other country to help the needy, the struggling, and the underprivileged all over the world. But as President of the United States, my highest loyalty, my greatest compassion, and my constant concern is for America's children, America's struggling workers, and America's forgotten communities. I want our youth to grow up to achieve great things. I want our poor to have their chance to rise.

So tonight, I am extending an open hand to work with members of both parties -- Democrats and Republicans -- to protect our citizens of every background, color, religion, and creed. My duty, and the sacred duty of every elected official in this chamber, is to defend Americans -- to protect their safety, their families, their communities, and their right to the American Dream. Because Americans are dreamers too.
who doesn't like this?

This is who this president is, it is the LEFT and the liberal media who wishes to show you otherwise.

Just after pointing out Mr Ji Seong-ho, Trump says this, as he begins to wrap everything up --
Seong-ho's story is a testament to the yearning of every human soul to live in freedom.
It was that same yearning for freedom that nearly 250 years ago gave birth to a special place called America. It was a small cluster of colonies caught between a great ocean and a vast wilderness. But it was home to an incredible people with a revolutionary idea: that they could rule themselves. That they could chart their own destiny. And that, together, they could light up the world.
That is what our country has always been about. That is what Americans have always stood for, always strived for, and always done.
Atop the dome of this Capitol stands the Statue of Freedom. She stands tall and dignified among the monuments to our ancestors who fought and lived and died to protect her.
Monuments to Washington and Jefferson -- to Lincoln and King.
Memorials to the heroes of Yorktown and Saratoga -- to young Americans who shed their blood on the shores of Normandy, and the fields beyond. And others, who went down in the waters of the Pacific and the skies over Asia.
And freedom stands tall over one more monument: this one. This Capitol. This living monument to the American people.
A people whose heroes live not only in the past, but all around us -- defending hope, pride, and the American way.
They work in every trade. They sacrifice to raise a family. They care for our children at home. They defend our flag abroad. They are strong moms and brave kids. They are firefighters, police officers, border agents, medics, and Marines.
But above all else, they are Americans. And this Capitol, this city, and this Nation, belong to them.
Our task is to respect them, to listen to them, to serve them, to protect them, and to always be worthy of them.
The thing is:  Trump gets US, for real.

No question in my mind.

The most hilarious thing of the night -- was the democratic response, by Massachusetts Representative Joe Kennedy III.  Given Joe was given a copy of Trump's speech in advance, it was as if he ignored everything the president addressed.   Going into his own description of "who we are," he rattled off a bunch of professions and positions in society in the same way as Trump, only different.  He tagged the phrase "out of many, one" with the same conviction as yours truly in yesterday's blog....and just as the president called upon in the same spirit, of this shared heart, in his address.

I guess, Kennedy wasn't pleased with the latest Call to Congress for 1.8 million new paths to citizenship, either; nor was he gleeful over the tax cuts, the bonuses, or the growing confidence in America getting back to business.  Think little Joe got stuck in the well, somewhere in Fall River?  Might explain the added spit in the corners of his mouth.  teehee

The problem is -- after getting such a punch from the president last night -- getting an immediate downer, with the spews of demagoguery, and a woefully pathetic return to driving the divide deeper and wider between the parties, playing to the sad liberal agenda that keeps going further and further left.....it just doesn't line up, it doesn't make sense.

"They are turning American life into a zero-sum game.

Where, in order for one to win, another must lose."

seriously, Joe?
Is that what you take away from the president's State of the Union?

Actually, people, if you read the full transcript, it reads like a list literally spitting out bullet points.

It  is biting, choppy, ripping from one wrong to another, as if the democrats had no involvement to the state of the union we are in, let alone the abysmal last eight years.  In just ONE year, Trump has begun to turn the tide; consumer confidence, corporate investment in America, paychecks, all round opportunity for all Americans, is growing like a tsunami --  and no shoddy, pissy little leftist well will contain it.

So.  As the Dems sit divided still, I see a rainbow.  a real freeking rainbow.

Hail to the chief who hails the PEOPLE of the United States of AMERICA; for truly, it IS the people making America great again, and Trump is not too big or too proud or too full of himself to admit it, even if he fails to convince a single lefty.

Make it a Good Day, G

It's What a girl Wants for ALL AMERICANS Thing

Dear America,

hail to the chief and his ability to ridicule the democrats right back

....this is just what it will take, folks.

From that last link, above, from a post @ The Hill:

"Never before in American history has a major political party put the interests of lawbreaking foreign nationals ahead of the interests of law abiding Americans. Yet that is exactly what the Democrats have done in holding the government hostage to extract special favors for illegal immigrants."

exactly

and when you put this perspective alongside the position of Chuck Schumer only a few years back...

“[Former House] Speaker [John] Boehner comes in and he says, basically, it’s sorta like this. Someone goes into your house, takes your wife and children hostage, and then says ‘Let’s negotiate over the price of your house.’ You know, we could do the same thing on immigration. We believe strongly in immigration reform. We could say, ‘We’re shutting down the government, we’re not gonna raise the debt ceiling, until you pass immigration reform.’ It would be governmental chaos.”

and from Nancy Pelosi, same time, same batty channel:

“I join the American people in their disgust in what happened in terms of the shutdown of government. That’s an unthinkable tactic to use in a political debate.”

[thank you, Washington Examiner for this closer examination.]

But let's be clear --  Republicans, in 2013, had ALL AMERICAN citizens best interests at heart.  Obamacare, at only three years young,  was already unraveling, proving to be a strain on Americans; the republicans were prepared to stand up for ALL Americans  -- even if it meant holding the government hostage for sixteen days -- in an effort to repair Obamacare's damage against one-sixth of the nation's economy, the nation's healthcare system.  Of course, it was a big fail.

Just as the Schumer Shutdown has proven to be a big fail, just moments ago.

More from the Tommy Hicks Jr. post, as opinion contributor at The Hill:

"They call Americans 'deplorables' and illegal immigrants 'Dreamers.' That tells you everything you need to know about the Democrats’ upside-down world view."

exactly

This says everything; if the republicans don't steal this point and drive it home, at every opportunity to speak from here on out, they will be missing a point of light, as they begin to negotiate a new immigration bill to protect DACA "kids."

What America needs to do is build a better wall -- literally and figuratively.

What America needs to do is simply follow the existing IMMIGRATION law and policy.

What America needs to do is protect AMERICA'S best interests and AMERICANS, neither being deplorable, first and foremost.

America does have a heart....it explains why so many people wish to come to America in the first place.

So what is this all about?
----  Genevieve Woods, The Heritage Foundation, has the answer:

That’s why Democrats are willing to shut down government. The reality is they don’t really want a deal on immigration. They talk about addressing the needs of the DACA population, but they have no time to address the other side of the immigration issue, border security and enforcement.
Here’s the deal. Democrats are fearful that President [Donald] Trump and Republicans could go into the midterm elections with both victories on tax cuts and immigration reform. So at the end of the day, that’s what all of this is about. It’s an election year, and that means politics, not people, are their priority.

Democrats want the votes and a steady stream of democrats flowing into America, unchecked and UNassimilated,  not a problem, undoubtedly.

And more from Genevieve, as to "Why Amnesty Should Not be a Part of Any Deal..." is posted HERE.

One last thing to read, from The Patriot Post's Thomas Gallatin, time to shut Schumer down....

indeed

Happy Anniversary; this girl is pretty sure Trump is here to stay for another three years, folks (primarily targeting dem folks, the leftists and the never Trumpers).  This win characterizes the results of a  President Trump on offense; for another good example, see Tom Brady and the Patriots.  tee hee (what a game, that was, what a game)

Anywho, deal with it.  And more than that, try to ENJOY it, you freaking idiots!

America is booming with tax reforms (for all except maybe California corporations...thank you "Victory Girls" blog); America is becoming less regulated; America is standing up for a sanctity for life;  America is slowly returning healthcare to the free market; America is improving the lives of Americans..... hello?!

Isn't this what ALL Americans really want?

It's what I want; it's what I want for ALL AMERICANS.

The thing is -- this is a good day for America.

Make it a Good Day, G

It's a London Bridges Falling Down Thing

Dear America,

"Courage doesn't always roar.
Sometimes courage is
the quiet voice
at the end of the day
 saying,
 'I will try again tomorrow.'"
anonymous

this morning greets me with an array of messages, as forces of heaven and hell stature catapult me into grief and then almost as quickly, subside...
I am here, alive, by the grace of God; and with that understanding know,  deep in my soul, that everything under heaven  --absolutely every living and dying thing --  that this material world reveals to us in the every day, gives us an opportunity to choose better.

That even goes for the sorrow-filled community of the  United Kingdom upon the Pentecostal morning; you can choose better.  And quite possibly -- now, making a rather provocative projection --- your peace, security, and life depends upon it.

4 June 2017
Today concludes the Easter season, the fifty days that, from Jesus’ resurrection to Pentecost, are marked in a particular way by the presence of the Holy Spirit.  The Spirit is in fact the Easter Gift par excellence.  He is the Creator Spirit, who constantly brings about new things.  Today’s readings show us two of those new things.  In the first reading, the Spirit makes of the disciples a new people; in the Gospel, he creates in the disciples a new heart.
The marking and the making of this day, according to church liturgy, is all about the unmasking of the Holy Spirit inside each of us --  our talent and our gifts; things given to us, by the grace of God and through the workings of the Spirit of the Almighty Lord.  In short, Pentecost Sunday claims a victory of sorts, celebrating a day long ago, when the Holy Spirit came down from the heavens and showered a gathering crowd with the gift of tongues, allowing for St. Peter to give a sermon, and miraculously allowing for all in attendance to understand him and each other.   It was a certain community communion with one another and made possible only through the Holy Spirit.

It is now widely known and honored as being the Birthday of the Church of Christianity.

Oh happy birthday, oh Happy Birthday, to you!

PLEASE READ THIS, from Christianity Today....Happy Birthday, Dear Church, and posted by Carolyn Arends, May 31, 2017. [You will just love the story of the "spooky handshake," too]

The Holy Spirit makes all things new....even after a total loss, even after total devastation, even after total tragedy, even after someone breaks your heart, even after losing the fire in your belly to keep on keeping on.  There lives inside all of us something dynamic no matter what the day brings; that ping of life, nestled deep into our soul and often disguised or buried or teased or traumatized, is really a spark to go on and do something solid, bold and beautiful with ourselves.

To become something anew, this is what our days should be made of, and fixated upon, with every ounce of our being.

Speaking of which -- my darling girl just sent me a photo from across the miles....It's a pic of my papa holding up two fists full of a chocolate shakes -- yes, one in each hand with a smile 10,000 waves wide.  It's his birthday today, too.  God love him; eighty years freaking fantastic and a man of distinction in every possible humanly way.

To the man who made all of me possible -- powered by the Holy Spirit, of course, and a righteous purpose under heaven (with some help from my little mama, too, teehee);  my gratitude is not enough whether by word or by action or by sentiment.  All I truly know is, you were made for me and me for you; the Lord tied us together long before the stars took their positions, long before the sun began to shine, long before the moon turned out the lights at the end of a day. It is all splendid, in good days and bad; AND every day we are alive on this mother earth should remind us of this glory.

This morning, Londoners and their lovely London Bridge were all falling down in spirit, in the wake of a night gone terribly wrong.  And I got to thinking -- even though I firmly believe that God loves ALL His children,  the reality is, there won't be any terrorists in heaven; for none of them believe in the Trinity -- the Father, Son and Holy Spirit  (let alone celebrate Pentecost Sunday).   wooooo whooooo and yippee ki yay!!! And won't that be some kind of day to look forward to in every possible way.  amen amen

This is a day to meet sorrow with the grace of God and realize the ability to harness a Power that can do great things with the misery made manifest on earth by the evils of man.  It starts with first recognizing where this kind of power comes -- THANK YOU, GOD; and in the second, fully recognizing just what this earth and its inhabitants are up against -- the clear and present danger of dark souls who live within the community everywhere. There is no place immune to the forces, whether we are speaking a force of one or three thousand or 300 million or a billion and one.

Having said that, here's a question:  how can President Trump be castrated across the pages of the web and twitter for "exploiting" the situation in London, after he emphasized the importance of his travel ban, if, in fact,  his reactions to the terrorist events of his presidency are tightly interwoven with his actual platform from day one of  his presidential campaign??

He has been nothing but consistent!
From posing a temporary travel ban, to being woefully specific, if not also, honestly refreshing, even brave, by calling out terrorism for what it truly is, radical Islamic terrorism -- the reaction from a sitting American president only serves as pure evidence that he has ONE CHIEF CONCERN, and that concern is aligned squarely with his purpose as it stands right now; and that purpose is all about protecting America, America's interests, the safety of the American people... be it at home or abroad!

The thing is, this is a president choosing NOT to lead from behind, as his predecessor.

This is a president who, by all appearances, is all about the world UNIFYING against evil!  We can choose better in the course of protecting the world against this kind of evil; and yes, there is cause to be alarmed when their is a stronger police presence in the middle of the town square, on a not so quiet Pentecostal Sunday morn.   Mayor Sadiq Khan, is this your idea of welcoming in a new norm?

Clearly, the proverbial bridge that crosses the pond is in need of some repair; perhaps we can meet half way and discuss some options, including that which is not negotiable, and ultimately part waters over a warm beer and a 'trinity handshake.'    Or not....can't ignore the history, right; we've been here before, haven't we UK?

President Trump is NOT WRONG; and more than that, he is carrying the torch for all of us who recognize that heaven and hell on earth have no boundaries or borders!

This is a day to wear red, in Pentecostal flair; this is a day to light the candles on a really big mother of a cake; this is a day to make it known to the world that we -- true believers of Something truly Great and Not of This World  -- are not afraid ------ that we are part of the Living Water that flows over the hills and valleys, choosing good over evil to the best of our abilities, in every small way and in every huge gesture.   And we will protect our own, believe you me, believe you me.  And we just might even try to convince you in your darkest hour to cross over and join us....teehee....there is that.

This girl, on this morning, just wants you all to know as London Bridges all fall down, that I STAND WITH OUR PRESIDENT.  God bless you, Mr. President and the United States of America.

Make it a Good Day, G

It's Sermon 868 Thing

Dear America,

calling this Sermon 868, as inspired by...

"RELAX IN MY HEALING, holy Presence.  Be still while I transform your heart and mind.  Let go of cares and worries so that you can receive My Peace.  Cease striving, and know that I am God.
Do not be like the Pharisees who multiplied regulations, creating their own form of 'godliness.' They got so wrapped up in their own rules that they lost sight of Me.  Even today, man-made rules about how to live the Christian life enslave many people.  Their focus is on their performance, rather than on Me.
It is through knowing Me intimately that you become like Me.  This requires spending time alone with Me.  Let go, be still, and know that I am God."
Jesus Calling, daily devotionals by Sarah Young, June 2, page 161

as many of you can imagine, this message speaks to me; this soft-spoken, yet raw honesty, aiming for redirecting our hearts and minds, calls upon us to basically cease and desist -- stop the nonsense that gets in the way between you and the most important relationship in the world, God. Stop the chatter, stop with the distractions we label as responsibilities, enough with the remaking of His World, His Word, our way.

And of course, what comes to mind, is what our fine president did yesterday, while standing in the Rose Garden, about mid-afternoon, with the sun shining down upon him and a posture revealing nothing but Peace.

President Trump pulled America out of an imaginary accord, of merely hypothetical trajectories, under the guise of stemming the tide of Climate Change, that in reality was nothing more than a global hostile takeover of AMERICA's best interests and ECONOMIC good standing -- mind you, all of which is carried on the backs of the American Taxpayer!!! [Remember now, government produces nothing but regulations, alongside wanton control of American assets, via tactics of collusion, corruption, and crony capitalism.]

It was a great moment for America.

And how do we know that?   -- call it a good hunch --  you know, given the world reaction to the nothing burger kind of announcement that it truly was; given the ratcheting up of sounding the alarm, at all levels, with tactics of intimidation  and ridicule right out of the old Alinsky playbook.   (And surely directed by Barack Hussein Obama, himself, through back channel communications, with the help, of course, from large scale organizers and think tanks, like Soros' Open Society and Podesta's Center for American Progress, and lest we forget, Angela Merkel xox)

President Trump courageously put a stop to a non-binding, feckless, imaginary, accord that only promised to reduce the carbon footprint by a whopping  0.02 %.   HERE, from the DAILY SIGNAL, is a post, 4 REASONS TRUMP WAS RIGHT ABOUT PULLING OUT OF THE PARIS AGREEMENT.

But never you mind all that, let's go to the source!  Let's pull out my favorite excerpts from the president's Great, Earth Shattering, Pull Out of a Non-binding Accord from the Rose Garden, shall we:

This agreement is less about the climate and more about other countries gaining a financial advantage over the United States.  The rest of the world applauded when we signed the Paris Agreement -- they went wild; they were so happy -- for the simple reason that it put our country, the United States of America, which we all love, at a very, very big economic disadvantage.  A cynic would say the obvious reason for economic competitors and their wish to see us remain in the agreement is so that we continue to suffer this self-inflicted major economic wound.  We would find it very hard to compete with other countries from other parts of the world....
The agreement is a massive redistribution of United States wealth to other countries.  At 1 percent growth, renewable sources of energy can meet some of our domestic demand, but at 3 or 4 percent growth, which I expect, we need all forms of available American energy, or our country -- (applause) -- will be at grave risk of brownouts and blackouts, our businesses will come to a halt in many cases, and the American family will suffer the consequences in the form of lost jobs and a very diminished quality of life.
Even if the Paris Agreement were implemented in full, with total compliance from all nations, it is estimated it would only produce a two-tenths of one degree -- think of that; this much -- Celsius reduction in global temperature by the year 2100.  Tiny, tiny amount...
... As the Wall Street Journal wrote this morning:  “The reality is that withdrawing is in America’s economic interest and won’t matter much to the climate.”  The United States, under the Trump administration, will continue to be the cleanest and most environmentally friendly country on Earth.  We'll be the cleanest.  We're going to have the cleanest air.  We're going to have the cleanest water.  We will be environmentally friendly, but we're not going to put our businesses out of work and we're not going to lose our jobs.  We're going to grow; we're going to grow rapidly.  (Applause.)
... I will work to ensure that America remains the world’s leader on environmental issues, but under a framework that is fair and where the burdens and responsibilities are equally shared among the many nations all around the world...
...No responsible leader can put the workers -- and the people -- of their country at this debilitating and tremendous disadvantage.  The fact that the Paris deal hamstrings the United States, while empowering some of the world’s top polluting countries, should dispel any doubt as to the real reason why foreign lobbyists wish to keep our magnificent country tied up and bound down by this agreement:  It’s to give their country an economic edge over the United States.  That's not going to happen while I’m President.  I’m sorry.  (Applause.)

... Beyond the severe energy restrictions inflicted by the Paris Accord, it includes yet another scheme to redistribute wealth out of the United States through the so-called Green Climate Fund -- nice name -- which calls for developed countries to send $100 billion to developing countries all on top of America’s existing and massive foreign aid payments...
... Of course, the world’s top polluters have no affirmative obligations under the Green Fund, which we terminated.  America is $20 trillion in debt.  Cash-strapped cities cannot hire enough police officers or fix vital infrastructure.  Millions of our citizens are out of work.  And yet, under the Paris Accord, billions of dollars that ought to be invested right here in America will be sent to the very countries that have taken our factories and our jobs away from us.  So think of that.
... Thus, our withdrawal from the agreement represents a reassertion of America’s sovereignty.  (Applause.)  Our Constitution is unique among all the nations of the world, and it is my highest obligation and greatest honor to protect it.  And I will.
... As President, I have one obligation, and that obligation is to the American people.  The Paris Accord would undermine our economy, hamstring our workers, weaken our sovereignty, impose unacceptable legal risks, and put us at a permanent disadvantage to the other countries of the world.  It is time to exit the Paris Accord -- (applause) -- and time to pursue a new deal that protects the environment, our companies, our citizens, and our country.
Thing is, this morning, this girl is pretty confident that the sky is not falling, the ozone is still intact, the planet will continue to do its thing -- right on cue -- no matter what mankind agrees to do under the cover of darkness or the light of day; no matter if it comes sealed with an international handshake, a wink, and a free croissant.   This "accord" strangled the American economy for the next hundred years and then some; it was crafted out of wish-craft of leftists and globalists and elitists, large and small, using a man-made hoax to place a hex upon all of U.S. -- the United States of America.

My only request is that this administration begin RENEWABLE ENERGY EFFORTS entirely focused and fixated upon MESSAGING, as in, like, yesterday.

CONTINUE TO EXPLAIN THIS TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE -- this isn't just a one day jump to pump the podium in the Rose Garden and you're done, K?

Take this old accord and mock it; and repeat! repeat and repeat the positives of pulling out day in and day out; don't renegotiate now...make the rest of the world sweat it out; matter of fact, put a czar in place to explain the climate change political agenda, which is really merely unmasking a crime underfoot --  the re-distribution of American wealth on the backs of AMERICAN families.  Take a message of conservative principles, combine with ecological and environmental and economically sound standards, and STIR......And Don't Stop.

Return ridicule with ridicule, because clearly, this is World War III, all hands on deck.

Welcome to the new world; a world ringing in an insane global governance, sensing it has an international mandate to wage war against this president and the United States of America from all points, emboldened from an axis of certain, illogical, non-binding, evil (this time, anyway), for it is an attack upon OUR PEACE!  Our sovereign right to do what is best for America,  Americans AND this beautiful land!  is what's at stake.

Well done, Mr. President.  Well done.
That speech and your pose was well done and over easy.  It was a Rose Garden reminder to the world of our sovereignty, from a position of strength;  it took great courage, knowing how the message would be received.

However, having said that, it wasn't really a message to the world, was it?

In my mind, it was more a heart to heart with the American people, countrymen from sea to shining sea; it was a Rose Garden reminder to AMERICANS of our sovereignty, our strengths, our environmental supremacy in regulation and in kind,  displaying a certain economic leverage that has been hard won and hard earned by Americans for Americans. [After all, we hired him to renegotiate everything, right?!]

And all the while, we aim to remain a shining city on a hill while we monitor and defend all democracies across the globe; we do so, graciously and generously, supporting human rights and relief from oppression, freely giving the entire world whatever resources it needs, anywhere and everywhere.  That is who we are, isn't it.

So  maybe just for today, let US --  that which is you and me and the Great Me all rolled up together --  let us not forget from where that Generous Open Loving Peaceful Spirit comes.  Can we do that for just one day, no?  And then, with every hope, maybe we can be open to the idea of trying it again tomorrow.

Make it a Good Day, G

It's my 868th blog; which in and of itself is no big deal.
But since this girl is into numbers and their significance  -- this combination of  8   6   8  means something to me, and to me alone.  Only one other person in the world might recognize it's importance; but no matter, he's not talking.  On this day, as my mind wraps her little head around a numerical connection to my heart and soul --  as accords come and accords go ---- this girl chooses to remember only the good things.  And for that, all I can do is give thanks x

It's Cornerstones of Liberty Thing

Dear America,

"...America has always been the land of dreams because America is a nation of true believers. When the pilgrims landed at Plymouth they prayed. When the founders wrote the Declaration of Independence, they invoked our creator four times, because in America we don't worship government we worship God. That is why our elected officials put their hands on the Bible and say, 'So help me God,' as they take the oath of office. It is why our currency proudly declares, 'In God we trust,' and it's why we proudly proclaim that we are one nation under God every time we say the pledge of allegiance.
The story of America is the story of an adventure that began with deep faith, big dreams and humble beginnings..."
...Just a snapshot for the family album -- for more of the Trump commencement speech, @Liberty University.....hit this: May 13, 2017 .

So given it's Mother's Day, and given little miss gthang here just loves taking twists and turns with the news...doesn't  this soft curve in the commencement describe somewhat just how motherhood happens?  The triad of deep faith, big dreams, and humble beginnings align with a bang --  no matter how frightening the reality of being totally unprepared for such a big adventure may be; and no matter if the little pitter-patter of little matter was fully expected, maybe even planned, or not --  when that scrumptious little thing pops out, we step forward in faith one sleepless night at a time. [And no worries for the naysayers; God made it -- the creation process -- so natural and beautiful and wonderful, that even non-believers can do it, too...and isn't that brilliant and awfully gracious.]

For those of us who live and love and have our being through this kind of faith in God, we often compare it to building our house upon The Rock -- a foundation of principles, and precepts, and prayer, that was not only preordained in prophecy as written in the Bible, but with every brick and mortar and commandment kept, all these things combine to create the very cornerstone of our existence!  From the pilgrims to the modern day family, the story of America has grown 300 million strong, all in God's image, predominantly as a nation of believers (fact); and as Joel Osteen proclaimed just this morning, we should also recognize that each one of us is "God's favorite child."   For more of that good stuff, just go to sermon #725, "Knowing you are Loved."

But back to the family corner stone:  Cornerstones are essential -- for everything else depends upon planting that puppy correctly, right from the start.   It's supreme purpose is to anchor -- the longevity and security of something requires its unyielding existence and resistance to erosion; we are speaking of firm, unshakable, remarkable and indispensable, pillars of civilization kinds of things.

This goes to the heart of the profound and enlightened vision of our founders -- to co-create with God one sleepless night at  time, through a revolution and beyond.

And since today is all about mothers (fathers will have their day,all in due time my pretties), dare we agree that from the start -- the makings of faith, dreams, and humble beginnings begin to grow up, too, expanding ever so slowly into the roll,  revealing every unknown, with the same great American spirit that embraces risk and reward and all;  eventually, with a whole lot of luck, dexterity, and grace, crowning mom another family cornerstone becomes fit for a Hallmark holiday,

Relating to all things household:   having the omniscience and omnipotence of knowing where everything is on any given day, from whipping up a splendid hot meal with nothing but leftovers and a well honed pantry, from having the capacity to understand the incomprehensible, to right the wrongs, and  even get a giggle in the most challenging of times, mama becomes the glue of everything and nothing within the confines of family.  In hindsight of my own childhood, even the little bit of yelling and the screaming could be strangely deemed something out of sainthood.

[Just love this op-ed, Our Mothers As We Never Saw Them, from Edan Lepucki, in the New York Times.  Even though it's truly a good read, in full disclosure, my googly-eyed trance is more because my own girl sent me this link.  Being on opposite coasts this Mother's Day almost goes unnoticed with these feelings of connectivity and mutual appreciation bridging the miles and under-girding our bond ...how I love that girl so.]

Just as President Trump noted,"[W]hen the founders wrote the Declaration of Independence, they invoked our creator four times, because in America we don't worship government we worship God,"   and thereby, the responsibility of teaching the nation's cornerstones, such as this, falls directly to the parent(s).  And having said that, even the First Amendment of the Constitution can only go so far -- for every generation must FIGHT for it --- taking the time to understand it, to respect it, to protect it, securing it six ways to Sunday, allowing it to fully permeate the hearts and minds of every American who comes along, believers and non-believers alike.  It is through this kind of process of citizenship by osmosis, that we celebrate being active participants who have a duty to be in the constant motion of elevating our virtues and passing it on to all we come in contact.

It's a constant push, really; almost feels like it will never end.

It's like the most magnificent push ever....with the kind of strength and force only heaven could conceive, something unseen becomes known -- even given a name.   Hello, my name is First Amendment; hello, my name is America; hello, my name is Self-Reliance; hello, my name is Independence; hello, my name is FREEDOM OF Religion, middle name FREE EXERCISE THEREOF; hello, my name is Favorite, Exceptional, You Name It!  It's a fun game, isn't it... think a mom made it up when she ran out of Cheerios and there was still another 45 minutes of errands to run with two hungry mouths to feed and kicking and screaming in the backseat.

[ooooh which reminds of another good read...The Left's War on Free Speech, by Kimberley Strassel.  It is in April's  Imprimis from Hillsdale College.  The well researched narrative on how The Left intimidates and threatens and bullies its way through the world, from sea to shining sea, taking a jack hammer to the nation's cornerstones is only one aspect of it; the best part is how she begins -- telling a story from around her own dinner table.  so precious, so precious]

Just as nature and nurture begins with the Creator, let's be real -- in oh so many ways, the day to day operations are carried out on the backs and side hips of moms everywhere; and this just so happens to be one day out of 365 when we get to honor that.   And oh honey, your mama doesn't need a thing, I'll just make a sandwich or something and watch a little T.V. ;)

The thing is, a good and decent culture --  one that mirrors our Maker and is modeled after the examples given by our elders, one that teaches the finer points of America's exceptional foundation -- is built upon the cornerstones, one mama at a time, from generation to generation.  It's a rather simple operation if left free to be you and me.   And while fearing the boys within range are getting their fruit-of-the -loom's in a wad, let not your hearts be troubled -- when Father's Day arrives, this girl won't have to say much of anything --  just a sex change later and it's a  transcontinental goldenboy blog.  bada boom bada bing (teehee  I know -- sometimes, I even amaze myself.)

In closing, let's return to Liberty and one more thing from Trump:
I know that each of you will be a warrior for the truth, will be a warrior for our country, and for your family. I know that each of you will do what is right, not what is the easy way, and that you will be true to yourself, and your country, and your beliefs. In my short time in Washington I've seen firsthand how the system is broken. A small group of failed voices who think they know everything and understand everyone want to tell everybody else how to live and what to do and how to think. But you aren't going to let other people tell you what you believe, especially when you know that you're right.
amen to that.  amen to that.

And last, but not least, I love you, mama -- may my kisses cross the blogosphere and greet you, today and every day, for I AM nothing without you.

Make it a Good Day, G
