It's the President Being True to Form Thing

Dear America,

happy Tuesday.

so right after he recited the first sentence of the second paragraph of our Declaration of Independence, he said this:

"Today we continue a never ending journey to bridge the meaning of these words with the realities of our time.  For history tell us that while these truths may be self-evident, they've never been self-executing; that while freedom is a gift from God, it must be secured by His people here on Earth.  (applause)   The patriots of 1776 did not fight to replace the tyranny of a king with the privileges of a few or the rule of a mob.  They gave us a republic, a government of, and by, and for the people, entrusting each generation to keep safe our founding creed."   President Obama

They've never been "self-executing?"

It's all about the "self-executing"  -- through self-reliance, with a little self-control and determination, and all while venturing through life, whether building a business, being an employee of someone else's business,  fully committed to growing the good for ourselves, our family, as part of the wider, productive, free, compassionate, honest, responsible community in which we live.

But then he adds, "And for more than two hundred years, we have."

And THEN he promptly goes into stating five exceptional examples of how America has done it --

...abolishing slavery
...building infrastructure
...establishing regulations and rules
...caring for the poor and downtrodden
...questioning authority

THEN, he gives us a big BUT; it's the paragraph we reviewed yesterday -- and we'll repeat again today:

"But we have always understood that when times change, so must we; that fidelity to our founding principles requires new responses to new challenges; that preserving our individual freedoms ultimately requires collective action.  For the American people can no more meet the demands of today's world by acting alone than American soldiers could have met the forces of fascism or communism with muskets and militias.  No single person can train all the math and science teachers we'll need to equip our children for the future, or build the roads and networks and research labs that will bring new jobs and  businesses to our shores.  Now, more than ever, we must do these things together, as one nation and one people."  (applause)

What a collective crock of caca; this is propaganda, folks.  Welcome to another four years of it.

SO our fidelity to the founding principles is dated, old-fashioned, soooo 1776; now, it's all about the collective saving America, saving the planet, saving the dis-enfranchised -- but in a new way, responding to the new challenges with a new attitude.   And it's fundamental transformation by collective action.

In the next paragraph, we finally hear some words of wisdom on our economy -- you know, the debt and deficit that is robbing our children of any decent future....the one that was sooo unpatriotic back in the campaign of 2008.

No.  Gotcha.

He doesn't really get into it; but he does give us a drive-by -- making a comfortable generalization  of the homegrown economic good that his administration has set forth, to be fully revealed later:

"A decade of war is now ending.  (applause)  An economic recovery has begun.  (applause)  America's possibilities are limitless, for we possess all the qualities that this world without boundaries demands:  youth and drive;  diversity and openness; an endless capacity for risk and a gift for reinvention.  My fellow Americans, we are made for this moment, and we will seize it -- so long as we seize it together."  (applause)

once again, the collective gets the nod; and does this president have the knack for being the Commander-in-Chief of the Reinvention Department, or what? It's a gift, I tell you; and he is seizing it and running with it, with scissors, Executive Orders, hidden agendas, liberal think tanks, an army of mainstream media and minions and more.   For the president, it's Go time. (Remember now, he believes he won the election in a landslide!)

Anywho, the next paragraph is a humdinger:

"For we, the people, understand that our country cannot succeed when a shrinking few do very well and a growing many barely make it. (applause)  [like that's really our reality, right]   We believe that America's prosperity must rest upon the broad shoulders of a rising middle class.  [right, because the risk takers who put up the investment to create an Apple, a Microsoft, a GE, a McDonald's, a Walmart, etc, etc...as it would take us days to acknowledge every businessperson who created a job, a paycheck, a life for someone else!...have nothing to do with it]   We know that America thrives when every person can find independence and pride in their work; when the wages of honest labor liberate families from the brink of hardship.  [um, we can have that right now when we individually align with that ambition]  We are true to our creed when a little girl born into the bleakest poverty knows that she has the chance to succeed as anybody else, because she is an American; she is free, and she is equal, not just in the eyes of God but also in our own. [like Oprah?  even sexual abuse didn't keep her spirit down]   (applause)"
but once again, he builds up this collective voice, as if we are not capable of really doing all these things as individuals forming a more perfect union...

How about this twist of entitlement --  "The commitments we make to each other through Medicare and Medicaid and Social Security, these things do not sap our initiative, they strengthen us.  (applause)  They do not make us a nation of takers; they free us to take the risks that make this country great.  (applause)"

Say what?  Does this feel like these things are strengthening us right about now?   These things are also unfunded liabilities, saddling our children with 150,000 dollars in debt on the day they are born; these things are irresponsible, fiscally reprehensible, and as with all debt, transfer an immoral, un-Godly burden from one generation to the next until the issues of affordability and feasibility have been resolved.   But nice dig dating back to the "collective perceptions" of the 2012 campaign.

And then, we build a crescendo of agenda, hot topics, double-speak, rhetoric, long standing liberal injustices complete with the progressive means to the transformative ends,  rehashing well-worn talking points to effect change...globally, domestically, collectively, together.

The more we listen to this president, the more we recognize his inherent, deep-seated, dreams from my father, desire to manipulate our principles, undermine our Constitution, with his greatest ambition being a simple one -- to break America.   At least Martin Luther King was speaking in terms of changing the individual, changing ourselves, to fit within the timelessness and framework of our principles and values.   But Obama despises America from her roots; he can't escape these things  -- I mean, progress -- fast enough.

Let us remind the president -- and his 51% -- there remains another half.   Oh, alright, 49%.   And like you said, Mr. President, as you were beginning to wrap things up all tightly in a bow -- rainbow colored, we might add:  "Being true to our founding documents does not require us to agree on every contour of life.  It does not mean we all define liberty in exactly the same way or follow the same precise path to happiness.  Progress does not compel us to settle centuries-long debates about the role of government for all time, but it does require us to act in our time.  (applause)"

and thank goodness we have long done away with settling debates by duel... there is that, too.

Yes, indeed.   There he goes again.  Little does he realize that with every transition into power, America -- WE, the people -- decides the role of government; it's only because a rather perverse progressive mindset has taken a foothold amongst the collective that this man, this president, gained enough approval for a second term.

And at this point, we can only be assured of one thing:  HE will ACT in our time.

"Let us, each of us, now embrace with solemn duty and awesome joy what is our lasting birthright.  With common effort and common purpose, with passion and dedication, let us answer the call of history and carry into an uncertain future that precious light of freedom."

even though,
like he mentioned two paragraphs ago --

"Being true to our founding documents does not require us to agree on every contour of life.  It does not mean we all define liberty in exactly the same way or follow the same precise path to happiness."

In the end -- "we all have an obligation to shape the debates of our time  -- not only with the votes we cast, but with the voices we lift in defense of our most ancient values and enduring ideals. (applause). "  Evidently, we can shape them, we just can't settle them.   Oh how the man goes round and round; let's just consider it a president being true to form thing.

And all in all, it's just another day in the life of an American girl....me....G; just self-executing "these truths" we hold self-evident, under God.  amen.

Make it a Good Day, G

One last thing before I go --
and oh and how does our government grow?

when in carmen, san diego...our new mayor is about to open an auxiliary administrative office in --    wait for it ----   wait for it --  Tijuana, Mexico!  And more than that, he is so  serious about controlling costs, he's even seriously considering changing the Tijuana area code to save on the monthly phone bill.   I KID YOU NOT.   I guess he hasn't become acquainted with Vonage, but still.  Can you believe this?  this is how bureaucrats think -- and even ACT on these thoughts -- every day.
