It's an NFL Entitlement Thing

Dear America,
"Having been a slave to the influence of opinions early acquired, and distinctions generally received, I am ever inclined not to despise but pity those who are yet in darkness. But to the eye of reason what can be more clear, than that all men have an equal right to happiness? Nature made no other distinction than that of higher or lower degrees of power of mind and body. But what mysterious distribution of character has the craft of statesmen, more fatal than priestcraft, introduced?

According to their doctrine, the offspring of perhaps the lewd embraces of a successful invader, shall, from generation to generation, arrogate the right of lavishing on their pleasures a proportion of the fruits of the earth, more than sufficient to supply the wants of thousands of their fellow-creatures: claim authority to manage them like beasts of burden, and without superior industry, capacity, or virtue, nay, though disgraceful to humanity by their ignorance, intemperance, and brutality, shall be deemed best calculated to frame laws, and to consult for the welfare of society.

Were the talents and virtues, which Heaven has bestowed on men, given merely to make then more obedient drudges, to be sacrificed to the follies and ambition of a few? or, were not the noble gifts so equally dispensed with a divine purpose and law, that they should as nearly as possible be equally exerted, and the blessings of Providence be equally enjoyed by all? Away then, with those absurd systems, which, to gratify the pride of a few, debase the greatest part of our species below the order of men. What an affront to the King of the universe, to maintain that the happiness of a monster, sunk in debauchery and spreading desolation and murder among men, of a Caligula, a Nero, or a Charles, is more precious in his sight than that of millions of his suppliant creatures, who do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with their God! No! in the judgment of Heaven there is no other superiority among men, than a superiority in wisdom and virtue. And can we have a safer model in forming ours?"

yes. it is the same Sam from yesterday.  why the repeat?  because I like it...and hey, it's my party and I can do what I want to.

The Free Market -- the American/Western/Capitalist system, based purely on the feats of supply and demand, proven principles steeped in generations of bringing to market what the market wants or needs; taking into account, what the market will bear; added to that, what the market -- in equal portion -- naturally elevates, linking the ever abundant supply with a constant demand.

The Free Market -- that which combines, and honors, our inherent talent together with our experiences, education and application; while personal ambition and motivation -- which, again, is in abundant supply and made tangible by the building blocks of our own self-reliance -- buoys our inclinations and intentions...  That is, if we so choose to accept our duty to respond and interact and do our due diligence respective of the burden of such a task, and fully realizing, of course, any prospective benefit is not guaranteed.  ergo, equal opportunity does not make equal outcome.

The whole point of a free market is to let is run free:  unregulated (but not without guidelines, expectations, laws), without manipulation (as in, within the private sector, without force, stipulation, censorship, moratorium, subsidy, of a heavy hand of government), and win or lose  (as in, whether bull or bear, in sickness and in health, for rich or for poor).  TO be totally free, it comes with a pearl of great price.

This is what our founders recognized in the new world.   They knew, as long as we remained good, and virtuous, and law abiding, and compassionate towards our fellow man, and fair, and noble, and honest, yadi yadi yadda, we would not only survive -- we would thrive.  It was all about creating a blessed, rich, environment to grow our own abundance, in every way possible.

And yet, the evolution of such a dynamic has taken it's toll, indeed.

Not only have we lived to see a day when the free market is made a mockery, so misunderstood -- the so called "limited" government we inherited from our founders is now in short supply; it's "un-limitedness" is not only a current day thorn in our side, "but what mysterious distribution of character has the craft of statesmen, more fatal than priestcraft, introduced?"

In a perfect world, this would be our lot: "...or, were not the noble gifts so equally dispensed with a divine purpose and law, that they should as nearly as possible be equally exerted, and the blessings of Providence be equally enjoyed by all?"

Only, scratch that, reverse it: "Were the talents and virtues, which Heaven has bestowed on men, given merely to make then more obedient drudges, to be sacrificed to the follies and ambition of a few?

Sam would be so sad to see us now.

So it is really funny listening to the ways of the free market with regards to football.

Given that floating the subject of slavery and football has been long considered taboo -- with neither the utterance, or the inference,  in the same sentence ever allowed without serious infractions or repercussions-- all of a sudden, and without a two-minute warning, we have reached the age of this very idea being thrown around more than the football, and hardly by the dis-enfranchised:

"We're business-minded, also. It's not just fun and games. A lot of football players, whether it's Sunday or Monday night — we're out there on the field, competing, hitting each other. But people don't see everything else behind it. It's a job for us, too — every day of the week. We're in different states, sometimes thousands of miles away from our families and kids... But how the players look at it … the players are getting robbed. They are. The owners are making so much money off of us to begin with. I don't know that I want to quote myself on that…

...It's modern-day slavery, you know? People kind of laugh at that, but there are people working at regular jobs who get treated the same way, too. With all the money … the owners are trying to get a different percentage, and bring in more money. I understand that; these are business-minded people. Of course this is what they are going to want to do. I understand that; it's how they got to where they are now. But as players, we have to stand our ground and say, 'Hey — without us, there's no football.' There are so many different perspectives from different players, and obviously we're not all on the same page..."

For more on this interview with Adrian Peterson, go to Yahoo! Sports, and see Shutdown Corner, by Doug Ferrar.  And for a free market response, by Ralph Alter, for The American Thinker, (and a guy who happens to love the very same Colts as this girl) go here (it's really good too).

Which came first, the owner -- putting up the expense, the risk (with absolutely NO guarantees -- see also SD Chargers...) possibly building a stadium, or putting together a limited partnership with the city, a board, a group of fellow believers and money guys...piecing together every living breathing detail of making a home team happen...and keeping it going, from day one, with rookies, who MIGHT grow up to be stars one day (see also football in the 60's and 70's)  OR the players (using the term "playa" if the cleat fits)?  huh?  huh?

SO with starting salaries in the hundreds of thousands, with averages hitting the million dollar mark, with benefits, rights, a union to back you up -- advertising deals up the wazoo, if you are just that good at playing the game (and yes, it is a game) -- you, like every other pro-sport athlete, are paid well worth your time and effort....you know, given it's not rocket science, you are not finding the cure for cancer, and you only play 16 games (yes, that being also up in the air at the moment, whatever) -- unless you guys are really good, and make it to the playoff season.

Hey Adrian, it's a free market!  Get out, if you don't like it...pretty sure another guy would be happy to take your place.  Or better yet, start your own team, and be the star if you want to, how about make yourself the mascot while you're at, maybe have your face painted on every jersey.

This football franchise business hasn't always been rolling in the dough, now has it?  Not every team, to this day, rolls in it -- you know, the dough -- like, say, the New England Patriots.  And earth to Adrian, it is a supply and demand and rich guy game right from the start, not simply during four quarters of the game, but day in and day out, and year after year, like a well oiled machine, almost like a business of sorts.

For isn't that the way for all business?

Honestly.  It takes a team of lawyers to save OJ Simpson's a$$; it takes a team of scientists to invent the next cancer drug, or, scratch that, make that the next steroid as the case may be; it takes a team of journalists, to crank out a waste of a paper like the New York Times; it takes a team of teachers to graduate kids, whether they are smart enough to get into college without an athletic scholarship or not; it takes a team of press secretaries to make a president look good; it takes a team of facebook players to keep facebook running, so that stars like an Adrian Peterson can be 'liked' and admired by all; it takes a team, to create a village, to birth a business, to grow abundance no matter what capacity, no matter what level, no matter what game.

The thing is, somebody steps up with the risk, the investment, the first thought, to make the dream a reality; the dough merges with dreams and even though it may be equal opportunity among friends, neighbors and countrymen, it most certainly is not equal outcome (just ask franchises who fail  -- and not just football...soccer, basketball, baseball, hockey...).  It only takes one owner, maybe a family, to do that -- while, to do it well is a whole nother story, isn't it?  isn't it?

You guys who happen to be playing in the 21st century have it so good.  spare me about this whole cry me a river with slavery.  pul leeze.   But hey,  Adrian, if you so choose to go there, then shouldn't we all consider ourselves a slave to our jobs -- if we're lucky enough to have one, that is?  seriously?  How hard can it be, being  a brand spanking new player for the Indianapolis Colts making 300 grand a year along side Peyton Manning?  Sign me up.

I wonder how long the list of expenses for an average team... needing a fresh supply of doctors, physical therapists, water boys, cheerleaders, Gatorade, transportation, hotel stays, food, INSURANCE, a place to play, security, lights on, grass mowed (weather permitting), seasonal work flow, payroll, ticket sales, website, lawyers, advertising and marketing, college recruitment needing both time and money, oh yeah, and paying the players a pretty decent wage immediately following the snap.

Now admittedly, given my intent was to throw out a general list, simply to fall within the scope and framework of an average blog margin -- it is hardly complete; but suffice it to say, me thinks it is still plenty long enough to sail over the head of the average receiver, if not a certain Minnesota running back, who apparently, doesn't have a clue.

And for you, Mr. Adrian Peterson (a better name for a girl, by the way) -- all you have to do is show up and do what you do best.  Play the game.

Of course, a free market does require it to be a win-win for all parties involved, there is that.  And usually, that part of the equation works itself out without interference from outside parties, legalities, misreads, or misunderstandings.  In a free market, when free to create and build and function and profit properly, all the moving parts operate gladly under a virtual agreement to be fair, honest, and just between all transactions, pertaining to all parties.

But when we say Houston we got a problem, it has nothing to do with outer space, the Oilers (scratch that, make that the Texans), or the pigskin itself -- it has everything to do with how we have evolved in the free market today.  Everywhere and often, the free market is at play.

You know what happens when we cease understanding and respecting and invigorating a true free market to do what it does best?  THIS.  A football lockout; disenfranchised team players; frustrated owners; and fed up fans.   When we stop respecting the principles of the free market, the true nature of supply and demand gets emasculated and reduced to fits of greed, manipulation, stipulation and boycott; we wind up with a big bunch of poor sports, clamoring for their say, side, security all the way around -- turning every posturing advantage into their own monopoly of sorts, calling for exclusive rights over another, slaving away and using every negotiating tool in the playbook.

In a way, what started out as a simple everyday sport, a thing to love to watch, to love to play, to love every which way to Sunday, and again on Monday night, has become a burden to us all.  Somehow, we have all  arrived back to the age of the Neanderthal --  or worse, we have grown to carry the weight of the lockout like a cross, as if, this is what happens when we know not what we do.

Just where is Betty White belting out 'get over it' when you need her?

we've seen it happen time and time again -- within our government, within industry, within education, within the marketplace...and now football!  Corruption leads the day.  it is a sad sad day in America.

Football is no different than our own government, currently running without a budget going on two years now -- unheard of in days of yore; not operating the American franchise within our debt limit -- going above and beyond year after year, operating with deficits now numbering into the trillions of dollars each year.  It cannot go on like this for much longer.  any other business, sports franchise, drug company, newspaper, gets this dynamic.  matter of fact, they are acutely aware of it at all times.   and that is just the truth.

The entitlement era has reached it's fate, having seeped into every facet of our life -- no, scratch that, acting more like a deluge of neon yellow Gatorade splashed down the backside of society.  It's modern day slavery, you know...

we need to wise up and realize we can't have it both ways. it simply doesn't work that way.

we are either free, or we are not;

we open up the free market and live by the free market, or we do not;

we either reap what we sow and sow what we reap, or we do not.

This budding sense of entitlement throughout the land is not free, there is a cost; and with regards to entitlements themselves -- after years of growing as unfunded liabilities, after years where government robs Peter to pay Paul -- they become nothing more than give-a-ways which grow, morph, and fester like an old wound, or an old knee injury, generation after generation.  In order to save them, every entitlement must be reformed and returned to operational solvency in order to save the entitlement itself -- or we will lose it forever.

What can we expect, though, from a nation who places on the pedestal all the benefits of free trade, million dollar earnings, and rookie to national stardom over a span of 16 games and a season or two, along with maybe a trophy and a Super Bowl ring -- especially in an environment where the true labor of being a team player gets lost in the details. But this is the new America, upon this first day of June, in the year of our Lord, two thousand and eleven.

now where are my diamond studs, I got a meeting with the union boss and my attorney in an hour..gotta stick it to the man, you know... can't play without the playas, you know what I'm saying?  ain't nothing but a g thang baby...

yo, red white and blue, let us revel in the free market today...for it is a dying creed.

yes indeed, a jaded G lives on to see another day...can't say I didn't warn you.  just the way the blog bounces sometimes...gonna be here all week...

Make it a Good Day, G

and boy does this girl love her football.  get it together guys so we can get our football freak flag flying again soon... please.  i will even throw in a pretty please with sugar on top.

Dear America,

good morning america

last we spoke, Obama was on a plane telling reporters it isn't time to concern ourselves with 2012 -- until when? 2012.  Doink; then all of a sudden, low and behold breaking news out of Washington, his primary spokesperson and confidant of many years, including playing an integral part in previous campaigns, Robert Gibbs, has decided to step down.

why?  he needs time to regroup and collect himself, so that in the coming months he can help lead Obama into his re-election bid.  No.  Nobody is thinking of 2012, not now, as that would be a misuse of priorities, among other things.

Then there is all the buzz on the replacement of the White House Chief of Staff, Rahm-bo, who had to leave in high hopes of gaining the highest position for all of Chicago -- a void left open for a couple of months now; and oops, der it is, one of Obama's prospects on the short list includes a banker.  And someone within the first family of Chicago, no less, a lineage of super powers that go way back...a certain Bill Daley. really?

Yeah, that seven years of bad luck within America's largest bank, J.P. Morgan Chase, did him a world of good in grabbing the attention of our Banker-in-Chief.

Hypocrisy in America is breeding at an alarming rate.

Oh, but what about the latest news on republicans, who seem to be brazenly skirting around a law they firmly and resoundingly vowed they would never to do...not giving legislation proper time to debate in committee before coming to the House floor for a vote?

Talk about hypocrisy... as POLITICO enjoyed declaring bright and early this one fine day...

well, glad you asked.

At the risk of sounding stupid (again), this is different; what POLITICO is referring to is the splendid intentions of the GOP to bring to a vote the absolute repeal of the Health Care Law in one fell swoop; this being done, by a simple up or down vote, you are either for it or against it, and no matter what it looks like, sounds like, the motion does not precipitate debate -- as it is 2 pages! following the people's mandate, as demonstrated in the November elections, outlawing a law that never allowed for full, open debate and resolution to begin with; what it offers, to the floor of the House, is for the 2,997? page law to come to a complete standstill like the doctor ordered:  prescribing plenty of rest and liquids... now get back to bed and resume debate tomorrow.

Taking into account a recent generalization and sentiment of our fine leader, there is plenty of time to start over, on the politics and realities of this, another day.

Oh my, please let this be the year all the fun and games come to a screeching halt, or not...

Cleaning out the ditch that the car swerved into was more like a swamp -- wasn't it Nancy? Way back when, you were so bright eyed and bushy tailed to clean up the mess, weren't you...

halo,
the people have spoken,

and not only do we carry great disdain for the continuing nonsense in Washington, but we will remember, I assure you;

but when people, like Nancy Pelosi, try to portray the last several years as all about the deficit, all about jobs, as that's been our focus since day one, as if we are all too dumb to know any better -- when in fact this Congress, and the one before that, has grown our national debt to a bulging, plus-size 14 Trillion dollars, a growth of  5.3 Trillion dollars in the last five years alone --  while she spins us a tangled weave of “Deficit reduction has been a high priority for us. It is our mantra, pay-as-you-go” without batting an over-botoxed eye...just how should we respond to that?  just how ridiculous does Pelosi look?  Does Pelosi even look into the rear-view mirror?

Yes, lefty's, you're right, the move by the GOP is purely symbolic -- but it is based on a reality that the Left refuses to believe or acknowledge: the health care monstrosity is guilty for adding 1.3 Trillion to the debt, manipulating the system with unpaid liabilities throughout, killing the hopes of all economic recovery for the year 2010, as it was, and IS a job killer -- proven by the response of late (in umpteen requests for exemption) over employer mandates that simply put a choke-hold on any job growth, expansion, or investment;  for the legislation -- and overnight, I might add (coming to us in the midnight hour of Christmas Eve 2009) -- turned already dire economic straits into a full-blown tailspin.

Talk about driving the economy into a ditch -- as Obama-andretti loves to spin it -- once a tailspin begins, the hopes of surviving one depends on our ability to overcome the direction of the spin without acceleration -- you quickly take your foot off the gas and remain calm, turning into the spin actually works with you, not against you.

The unintended consequences of the recent health care legislation was like answering to the out of control spending and waste and fraud within the health care system as if it were spinning out of control, but instead of cool, calm, collected and calibrated response, the left had us in the grips of an immediate overreaction, putting the foot on the breaks, creating total panic, and thrusting the business community into hyper-hysterics.

So this symbolic measure is one of even higher methodology and importance, and surely not one in vain; this symbolic motion, to take back the people's house, is one that will, hopefully, set the pace for the new year; this symbolic gesture is one that, if all goes right, will continue to ricochet the voice of the people off of the walls in the halls of Washington. (And speaking of symbolic, how about the reading of the Constitution today, and the new speaker, John Boehner...read this)

And sure, this may be without any cause for real alarms to go off, it doesn't carry the machine with enough horse-power to get much further than the house, the overdrive can only get us so far; but the people seem to be the only one's living in reality these days; and if that is where we must begin, then so be it.

You're right, it may not change the fundamental transformation that has already taken place -- but we are not out of the race yet.

And last I checked, it was the tortoise who came out on top. slow and steady...

cool heads prevail.

turn into the spin.

back to basics, heeding the first rules of thumb.

cut spending-- even if it only begins with fluffy earmarks, they add up.

cut spending -- nothing is off limits, even defense, but the point is to start.

cut spending -- and like anyone else experiencing the immediate slashing of cash flow, drastic changes are the only way we find a way to eat and keep a roof over our head.  We make due with less of everything.

cut spending -- promote individual solutions and elevate thinking outside the box, working together, in community one another.  Let the neighborhood truly act as a community for the betterment of the whole; think globally, but act locally.

cut spending -- reminding Washington every day, that they are playing with the people's money; it does not belong to YOU, and you no longer have carte blanche to spend our money haphazardly and recklessly.  It is not your money.  Talk about an entitlement program off the charts in waste, abuse, and fraud -- the United States Congress Entitlement Fund has run it's course, in a way, obsolete, it is not producing enough good things to warrant further investment...shut it down.

cut spending -- take the foot off the acceleration...no, no, I got it...unless you change the course, the direction, and the speed in which you are taking  us, we will simply resort to Chicago-style tactics...yeah yeah...we'll just cut off your ability to refuel, that's the ticket; gas shortages of the seventies have got nothing on this.

oooh and while I veer off in an attempt to amuse myself, just maybe a Daley would make a good choice in the new year...time will tell...while 2012 is just around the corner. vroom vroom. chitty chitty bang bang.

Make it a Good Day, G

Sting, at his best, is playing on Dear America... turn it up!

post post:  no longer thinking about Bill Daley...it's done. he's in. finito. here's more.

Dear America,

"Quite frankly, I'm exhausted."
Velma Hart

Ditto...

Hell's bells, what in tarnation is going on around here; and much like yesterday, and like the day before that, we never really get a real clear politics answer, do we?

But gotta love Velma, no?

She laid it right out for the president...she's plum exhausted defending him and his administration and the hopey changey thing going on; oh, how did she finish -- and coming from being a true lover, not a fighter --"deeply disappointed..."

He then went on to rattle off his talking points and circled back around with a firm reassurance that he's not done...hold up there, Velma, give me more time.

According to an ABC Poll, 47% of those polled said it "would not make a difference" -- responding to which party would have the greatest affect on changing the country's economic woes.

Where do they get these people is what I want to know.

The people I know, have no doubt about our future picture and can see it -- and maybe even through a crystal ball...say it isn't so; regime change is the nature of the beast this election season.

Thanks to Obama, we see the light.

Thanks to Obama, we realize, we took the turn south when we should have gone north.

Thanks to Obama, we went left when we should have veered right.

But how does our president respond to we the people, while addressing the Tea Party hidden agenda?

"ha ha ha...
...[you know, America, God love her cuz I sure don't -- has this]
nobel tradition of being healthily skeptical about government..."
he he he...

"ha ha ha...
...it's not enough just to say, to get control of spending..."
he he he...

challenging all tea party enthusiasts to basically spill it, I double dog dare you, tell me, then, you stupid, ignorant pack of fools, where would you cut? Where would you take from first? What do you mean control my spending? tell me.

Well okay, then, when you put it like that, how about we start with 10% across the board; but cut your administration by 20%; cut congressional staffers by half; cut dining out, or ordering in, for the late night behind closed doors sessions, writing and  manipulating legislation and votes, by 100% -- pack a lunch, or a midnight snack, like the rest of us.  How's that for starters?

Then, the next tier looks something like this:

  • Repeal the trillion dollar health care package -- you know, the one where your party followed blindly by party line, committing outright fraud on the American people, and who are unwilling and able to stand by it as they beg and plead to keep their jobs in the fall.
  • Stop "stimulating" the economy through government subsidies, grants for testing marijuana on monkeys and the like, and digging ditches; real jobs come only by way of the private sector; you are killing us with overhead and banking on too many of us being satisfied with performing hard labor and highway building for the rest of our lives (not my idea of doing what I love and loving what I do).
  • Keep the BUSH tax cuts for all Americans; the wealthy are the only one's with the ability to carry the liability of starting new ventures, the hiring of more people, and keeping the wheels of capitalism and the free market and prosperity for all turning in the same direction. Most Americans, have not a nickel to their name to create or save one job, let alone 3 million and counting; the people who do, make US (thank you, Jeep!).
  • FYI, your budget deficit is set to reach 1.3 Trillion!  (believe that's unprecedented, no?)

Velma is exhausted, like the rest of us, because she can't keep defending the path downunder with the legacy of debt this American President is sending with us merrily, merrily down the way.

The temperature is rising; and it has nothing to do with climate change; for we are feeling like the end is near.

Chris Coons, who made the switch from ignorance to so-called bliss in college, while far, far away, in another land, called Kenya, returned not in love with his America, but totally awestruck in his ability to change her and everything he loathes; Christine O'Donnell, throws off the dogs declaring, "it was in high school" -- let's get real, people.

We age, we grow, we learn, we make mistakes and then one day down the road, we wake up and want to do something with our lives.  We all do it.  Some of us, even still.

Which vote do we want to have in congress -- the one who has half a chance in changing us back into the America we know and love, who would say NO to wanton spending on the fly, and with the help of a little pixie dust, perhaps, honor America, reform our wrongdoings and wayward direction, and hold to our finer truths we recognize under the Constitution and our Declaration of Independence -- or, the guy who worships Black Liberation Theology, who came home from Kenya with an anti-establishment epiphany, a guy who hikes taxes to support liberal entitlements and "stimulus," and seems to profess a self-proclaimed lack of patriotism all the way around (lock step in line with the ideology of our president) ?  hmmmm

It's not like I could even make this stuff up -- and if you read what is linked with hmmmm you would know what I'm talking about.  Coons is left; Christine is right.  Absolutely cyrstal.

But make no mistake, it is more than ideology now -- this is about our future.

From Christianity and the American Commonwealth:

"Christian education is not narrow.  It does not fetter thought, but emancipates mind.  It does not impede investigation, but flings wide the doors of the largest mental hospitality, and gives the broadest commission to 'intermeddle with all knowledge.' For the small demagogue, whose cry is liberalism, and who has 'no language but a cry,' we ought to have the commiseration due to congenital innocence...

what you sow in your school you reap in the nation...Correct principles sown in the soil of the young mind, cultivated by wise, well-equipped teachers, and ripened by the sun of gracious Providence, will produce a manhood and womanhood that will sacredly preserve the past and guarantee the glory of the future."
Quite frankly, we are exhausted, as the liberal chorus of  'no language but a cry' has not only made us, but warped our minds -- it made us stop all forward, onward and upward, full ahead motion honoring one of our core principles -- our very independence. Our christian heart opened up so wide, we allowed for flagrant misgivings and transgressions against America's remarkable posturing, her true identity and the real McCoy happily living side by side.

Now I hasten to say I don't know much and certainly not everything, but this I do know: families will always feud; we will  probably take turns getting what we want for maybe another hundred years, if we are lucky; but I'm not willing to let America go to hell in a handbasket over it.  We only have good government, when we save our liberty; we only have independence, when we save ourselves.

Velma looked to just a man to save her -- and that was her first mistake (with about 55% of the vote along side her).

It's an easy mistake, anyone can do it (even president's forget a little line like, "endowed by our creator" from time to time...see speech Monday...I'm not going to find it for you).  Can't blame that one on high school, however -- more like the realm of being a college grad -- perhaps from places like Amherst, or  Harvard.

You know, Mr. President, thanks to your stimulus, it's been confirmed that cocaine and pot can adversely affect what information we retain and the stupid things we do -- that, from a recent government funded study costing the lowly taxpayer hundreds of millions of dollars; it's a good thing we had a study for that, for don't think we, simple minded, tea party kind of folk, could figure that one out on our own.

So, in closing then,
Ten Percent is the quick answer (that's easy to remember, as it is the same amount we the little people tithe)... once you do that, we can re-assess the damage and see where we go from there.

And if I may speak freely -- and I think I speak for all of us -- especially Velma, let us reaffirm that we are exhausted; we can't keep up with you; we dare you to cut spending (that's easy to remember, as you said it hundreds of times in your election campaign, you said you would go "line by line"...).  While blame Bush for the tax cuts if you must, but go ahead and stick to it; make it easier to make jobs, so that we can make our own way.

For we are really not afraid of what has to happen next -- and that is going by way of Europe, of all things; it's called austerity -- and albeit good, the reality is, this will only get us back to even.

But we recognize Divine Providence is on our side, the supply side, the more than enough side, the path to higher learning and robust abundance side -- govenment just needs to get out of the way -- setting us free to fly to the high heavens and beyond our wildest dreams --  bringing a whole new meaning to pyschedelic...

Polls have a way of missing the fine line in between; but that line is no purple haze no more, no more.  We are not confused; we are not divided; we are not unsure of what is at stake; we see it all, crystal clear.  The bad news, It was with us the whole time; the good news, It will be with us always -- now isn't that just divine.

Now somebody pass me the chips.

Make it a Good Day, G
