It's Rooted in 5000 Years Thing

Dear America,

dear diary...obviously, we are experiencing some cultural schisms smacking America upside the face.  It's a form of schizophrenia- nationalia only seen once every couple a hundred years, or so.

We could self-medicate; we could lose ourselves into our jobs; we could run away to some deserted isle and wither our days in sun, caipirinhas, and sand (indeed.  plenty, plenty of sand). Or we could just pretend it doesn't mean a thing; that none of this matters in life and death.

I've been gone for nearly a week; beginning upon the eve of the summer solstice, my girl and I mentally, physically, emotionally checked-out of the daily grind; ironically, it was just in the nick of time, given how the week progressed.  And oh thank heaven for the rested mind and body is all I have to say (just kidding; we've only just begun).

By definition, schizophrenia is described as  "any of a group of psychotic reactions characterized by withdrawal from reality with highly variable accompanying affective, behavioral, and intellectual disturbances."  While lo and behold, what do my wandering eyes find just a hop skip and a jump above it? A new explanation for it all...

Schizogenesis.

Which is generally, and simply understood, as "Reproduction by fission."

exactly.

America is no longer the homogenized, assimilated, blending into one body, one nation under God.

Every faction must have it's peace; every splinter begins by protest and ends in a fiery blaze of mass destruction, cultural consumption, and fundamental transformation.  It seems to never end.

When I began this blog, back in 2009 -- we were "piddling" over the itty-bitty details with humongous ramifications of universal healthcare.

Sure, they didn't come right out and say we want socialized medicine; they phrased the aims, the ideas, the lies, as a compassionate answer for the uninsured --- that nothing else would change, that if you like your doctor you could keep your doctor, that the costs would universally, and dramatically, come down as if they could re-engineer out of thin air the dynamics of a free market battling against the soft tyrannical processes of big government with absolutely no conscience.

Magnificent power plays of politics and culture and corruption ignited a total transformation of our healthcare system, which now, four years later, has amounted to a  monetary cost three times its original estimate, massive confusion 300 million fold, and an economic disaster toppling industry, business, healthcare usurping whatever universal confidence we had with unintended consequences up the wazoo.  Isn't it great!

When will we ever learn that there are just some areas government does not belong?

Health care is one of them; religion is another; and marriage, yet another.

Almost overnight it would seem -- through the development of fracture and fission, divide and conquer, tyranny has unapologetically, flamboyantly, come out of the closet.  All of a sudden, no matter what your religious background, beliefs, conscience -- you are no longer permitted to practice, exercise, stand by those tenets dating back 5000 years and if you insist, it's called bigotry.

It's a new season in America - the only place on earth where the sum of our parts makes mayhem, madness, and a universal, cultural marginalization masked as tolerance that evolves into total elimination of a religious freedom -- the very root of our country's genesis.

How schizo is that?

While, even though there are truly 300 million of us (not counting the 20 million illegals, I guess) -- we have nine ordinary people in black robes deciding which way the American culture goes.   We might as well think of it as the Artillery of Social Justice on parade.

The irony and timing is rich, isn't it?  President Obama in Africa, of all places, at a time like this.

Obama refers to the ruling as a "victory for American democracy."  Indeed, mob rule did win -- and handedly with the Supreme Court ruling.  However, the Republic, the Rule of Law, took a beating -- what with Prop 8 getting shot back down to the lower courts ruling, and totally extinguishing the outcome of how the people of California voted -- which came directly after being forced to make an absolute course correction once the legislature enacted a cultural reversal with prejudice.

Californian's said no; and no, means no.

Ah but not so fast...
not in this day, this court, this usurpation of the people's will.

When Clinton signed off on DOMA back in 1996, the year my baby girl was born, the intention was pure.  (yeah, right, he needed to get re-elected and was already using the military like a petri dish as the mad-scientist-in-chief having implemented the "don't ask, don't tell" policy...)

It was a nice touch to a presidency needing a little family values influx.  And who knew, right? Considering it came long before the stained blue dress, a cigar, and the declaration "I did not have sexual relations with that woman."   "That woman," he said.  Makes me cringe every time.

Just an object of sexual satisfaction, and yet women overwhelmingly still adore him to this day.  ew.  but I digress.

Back to this president, this day, this time around...He was in Senegal giving social indoctrination of another nation his best shot.

Ah not so fast, Mr. President --

"We are still not ready
to decriminalize homosexuality,"
Sall said, while insisting
that the country is "very tolerant"
and needs more time
to digest the issue without pressure.
"This does not mean we are homophobic."
Senegal President Macky Sall

classic, isn't it.
from one president to another...back off.
Ah but nobody from Salon.com is calling for a Macky attack, now are they?

Here's some perspective:

"A report released Monday by Amnesty International says 38 African countries criminalize homosexuality. In four of those - Mauritania, northern Nigeria, southern Somalia and Sudan - the punishment is death. These laws appear to have broad public support. A June 4 Pew Research Center survey found at least nine of 10 respondents in Senegal, Kenya, Ghana, Uganda and Nigeria believe homosexuality should not be accepted by society."

And quoting the AP, quoting Papi Nbodj -- a nineteen year old student:

"We are in a Muslim country,
so we certainly cannot have it here,"
he said.
"And for me it's not OK
to have this anywhere in the world."

Is anyone listening to this?

Understand that a religion -- Muslim, Islam -- does not constitute homosexuality as being "OK" anywhere in the world.

Not only can you NOT get married, you can't even do itIt's a crime.   And it makes up about 25% of the world's population, and sits second only to Christianity.

I would say Christianity is pretty damn progressive in this light.

But what did the UK do just today?  Ban a couple of bloggers that speak up against radicalized Islamic extremists in their every day?  Seriously?   Just whose side are you on, you naïve, pompous, schizo, freakazoids?

And don't I sound rested now.  wow, G.  Breathe, just breathe.

What DOMA did was serve as a lightening rod to the entire LGBT community as something to attack.  It was as if America said come and get it.   Yoo-Hoo, over here...Don't you wanna piece of this? Of course, in the best Nathan Lane we could muster.

Oh for the love of Pete and Pete, we got boondoggled into the firestorm and fodder from the first flicker of DOMA light.

Every bit of DOMA was designed to make it attract dysfunction, fracture, fissure, and family arguments from its onset; schizophrenia-nationalia or bust, or both.

plop, plop - fizz, fizz.

The Left is so patient with us, aren't they?

You know what I want; I want what goes on behind closed doors to stay behind closed doors.  Hetero, Homo, monogamous, polygamous, you name it.

Marriage is off limits.

Religion is off limits.

Everyone needs to go back into there walk-in and take a chill pill.

Of course, policy in America should reflect equal treatment, equal benefits, and equal rights under the law.  Of course!  Writing appropriate civic policy has nothing to do with marriage or religion.  [Still love the day I chimed in with the idea of Civil Unions for everybody...oh that was then, and this is now, and this is a place where now and then context is everything]

We are Marshall and we are America.  And it's complicated; and we are one dysfunctional family first.

All are welcome to the table;  all of us demand equal and mutual and commanding respect.  And more than that -- under the equal protection of life, liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness -- this includes the free exercise of our religion from sea to shining sea, whether the gay community wants to respect that or not. [Clearly, they have made their choice.]

In the end, it is the gay community acting with flaming intolerance.

What we have here is a failure to communicate.

Everyone is simply pointing fingers across the table screaming over each other, I'm not crazy, you're crazy.

What we also have here is the dawn of an atrocity upon America that has no words to describe.

The Left has set the tone of a new bell, sounding more like an alarm.

They have only just begun.

Just you wait.

We are about to get a whole lot more of this:  "White House Announces Strong Opposition to Religious Freedom in the Military"

It's simply stunning censorship of the "free exercise thereof,"  no?

As we all know, this is how it starts -- or finishes -- depending upon which way the flag flies.  Gay rights trump religious rights; and "material used by the Army Reserve had identified Protestant Christians, Catholics, and Orthodox Jews as “religious extremists” similar to al-Qaeda and Hamas."

Oh really?

Don't ask.

Don't tell.

Don't pay any attention to any of it; dare you to put your head back into the sand.

It's just an era when the Defense of Marriage is really a lightning rod for fracture and dismissal of everything this nation finds precious, enduring the test of time, until now.  It didn't have to go down like this.  Things could have been said to prevent every ugly, noxious tantrum and protest -- be it from either side.

But let's be clear, shall we?

It's the Left  who abhors organized religion (unless it's Islam, because that's kinda cool) and they will paint anyone who clings to it -- even to this day -- as closed minded, ignorant, bigots.  And that is precisely what the developing stages of schizophrenia-nationalia is all about.  It's fundamental transformation from the roots, branching off into all kinds of strange and unforeseen ways, commencing with all aspects of religious life.   Let the schizogenesis begin, they say.

Just how old-world, flat-earthed, and intolerant is religious persecution anyway?

Which makes religious freedom the civil rights issue of the new millennium....again. Oh isn't it wonderful how history repeats itself?  What goes around, comes around.  Picking the side of Mother Mary, Mother Teresa, and mom -- the feminist that I am, I am --  I know who I am; my roots go back 5000 years.   I am not afraid.  Are you?

cool heads prevail.

in faith, let me be an instrument of thy peace.

Okay, this is good enough for one day.

We have more to say...but baby steps.  It's good to be back.

Make it a Good Day, G

It's About Drawing a State Line Thing

Dear America,

it's about something mentioned yesterday, almost entirely as an afterthought, that is still sitting with me...

Can you guess what it is?

it's when the words 'why have state lines at all' gave way.

This morning -- this entire week perhaps -- is about returning to this new reality in America, the smudging of the lines, the boundaries put in place.... for our benefit! I might add.

Michigan, just this morning, is trying to remedy a similar situation as we speak.   The Unions in the state have overstepped their bounds; a course correction, granting an array of new policy surrounding the Right to Work -- including the right NOT to pay Union dues, if one is so inclined -- has been bundled and bonded by the legislature and is presently on its way to the Governor's office for signature.

Yesterday, the president attempted to influence the decision by saying the following:

"These so-called 'right-to-work' laws, they don't have anything to do with economics. They have everything to do with politics," Obama said. "What they're really talking about is they're giving you the right to work for less money."

But anyway -- is the president predictable, or what?

One minute he speaks so highly of the people's liberty, the next he treats it with contempt.   For this president and radicalized-community-organizer-in-chief, everything is viewed through the political prism.  It's always about the propaganda, the polls (and how to play them), the people's perceptions (and how to twist them), the politics of dividing this sacred body, in actuality, these United States and how to use that for control.
Control what?
Control of the people, the wealth, the resources, the property -- all in all, the people's liberty.
He's a learned man, President Obama -- astute to the tactics of Saul Alinsky, armed with an intellect raised by Marxists, and having his entire personal career built upon Union support, community organizing for the disenfranchised, and heavily influenced by mentors steeped in radical thought --  Frank Marshall Davis,  Rev. Jeremiah Wright, Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn...just to name a few.

The thing is, the boundaries of government are no longer smudged -- they're entirely erased.

Let's just rattle off a short list of where the Federal Government does not belong:

  • education
  • health care
  • abortion
  • marriage
  • a person's 'right to work'
  • welfare & entitlement
  • social security
leaving it to seven... for the seven deadly sins.

These things belong under the authority of the state --  as in the individual states, not the socialist state.

Since it was brought up only yesterday -- take, for example, gay marriage...or any marriage, for that matter.  The government simply does not belong.  It should not be of any political use whatsoever...you wanna talk about something having absolutely nothing to do with politics, Mr. President?  Let's talk about this.  You flipped sides on the issue for the politics of it, more than once!  As in you were for it, before you were against it, before you were for it again...

...and come to think of it, your tax hike plan -- calling "the rich" beginning at 200k/year as individuals, the hitched @ 250k/year -- why isn't the starting point $400,000 if you're married?  Is that a punishment?

But having outlined where the fed doesn't belong, allow me be even more clear -- this view is not intended to take anything away from the root of good government created in these United States of America.  The boundaries, the form, the context was rooted in responsible self-government, and created through the prism of multiplying freedom and liberty for all; the family being not only the extension of this principle, but the very center of it.

The core unit of any society starts locally, with the family -- working outward through the churches, schools, the entire community, much like the ripple created from a stone.   A good society starts with something truly small.  But boy, is it strong, solid, stalwart -- becoming a certain structure in place to find our heart, security, peace, and understanding in a crazy world.

Which reminds me, one of the fundamental tactics used in communism is to replace the family with the cause, to replace God with a new religion.

It isn't any great stretch to see that we are in the midst of the lines being smudged; the federal government is erasing cultural boundaries, becoming intricately involved in areas it doesn't belong.   Under any normal situation, this environment begs for anarchists against authority to rise up against it, much like the Occupier's; but such is not the case; it's puzzling, really.  All  is quiet on the home front.  It's kinda creeping me out...

The Tenth Wish is upon us -- give states back the power!  (fist pump)  Let every state be free to decide -- pot or no pot; gay marriage or traditional; right to work or right to union corruption; right to abortion or right to life (and yes, if I were in charge of anything, I would force the elimination of the phrase "pro-choice" -- call it what it is.)

Every state is different; the political electoral map (by specific county, too) proves that in a heartbeat...Let the Left leaning fall into the Utopian oceans they cling to and let the rest of us revel in our right for our right to live in real liberty, true freedom and peace...lots and lots of peace and quiet.

The federal government was designed to give it limited power for a reason.   The reasons, many.  Unfortunately, for so many Americans, the reasons seem to have been erased along with the boundaries put in place over two hundred years ago.

It's time to for lines to be drawn with a Sharpie pen.

How do I know this will work?

Children thrive with boundaries.

It's Civil Unions for All Or Bust Thing

Dear America,

headline: "why did Obama change his mind now?"

when, in fact, it's way too late to be asking that kind of question.

way more accurate:  why did Obama change his mind in 2008?

But be that as it may -- the answer -- for both -- POLITICS.

Cue interview with Obama, from The Weekly Standard (circa 2004):

Q: “Excuse me, but as far as, why? What in your religious faith calls you to be against gay marriage?”

A:  "Well, what I believe, in my faith, is that a man and a woman, when they get married, are performing something before God, and it's not simply the two persons who are meeting. But that doesn't mean that that necessarily translates into a position on public policy or with respect to civil unions. What it does mean is that we have a set of traditions in place that, I think, need to be preserved, but I also think we have to make sure that gays and lesbians have the same set of basic rights that are in place. And I was glad to see, for example, that the president today apparently stated that he was in favor of civil unions. This may be a reversal of his position but I think it's a healthy one. I think, on this, President Bush and I disagree, apparently, with Mr. Keyes on this, because I think that that kind of basic ethic of regard towards all people, regardless of sexual orientation, is a valuable thing.”

Never mind the overwhelming amount of gibberish -- that was 2004.

That was then, this is now, and in between we had the election in 2008.

When he told a pastor, Rick Warren, this :

O:  "I believe that marriage is the union between a man and a woman. Now, for me as a Christian — for me — for me as a Christian, it is also a sacred union. God’s in the mix...

because historically, we have not defined marriage in our constitution. It’s been a matter of state law. That has been our tradition. I mean, let’s break it down. The reason that people think there needs to be a constitutional amendment, some people believe, is because of the concern that — about same-sex marriage. I am not somebody who promotes same-sex marriage, but I do believe in civil unions. I do believe that we should not — that for gay partners to want to visit each other in the hospital for the state to say, you know what, that’s all right, I don’t think in any way inhibits my core beliefs about what marriage are. I think my faith is strong enough and my marriage is strong enough that I can afford those civil rights to others, even if I have a different perspective or different view."

[full transcript of Rick Warren interview, go here.]

In 1996 -- Obama was totally for it, as he was just starting out on the ground floor of politics, and wishing to represent the Hyde Park area of Chicago.  Answering to a questionnaire, he writes, "I favor legalizing same-sex marriages, and would fight efforts to prohibit such marriages."

Again, it's politics; he's in like Flynn, or Flint, it doesn't really matter -- you pick -- I mean really, who really knows the difference anymore, right?

The thing is -- this morning -- I THINK this is how I feel [not really sure] [I'm distracted by my own evolution, you know] [and rather dizzy].

I'm Taxed Enough Already about this matter.

Besides saving dolphin, and whale, and that little bug in Texas -- let's add marriage.

Perhaps it is time just to take it out of the equation.

Let's protect it, honor it, and love it even more now; let's cease and desist, and stop allowing traditional MARRIAGE to be dragged through the mud slings of politics.  Let's take it out of circulation.  And let it be the Right that leads the way.

Enough.
Perhaps the Right should unexpectedly give a little and pull a runaway vibe.

There is just no way to "re-define" traditional marriage as anything goes; and then to further violate it, playing fast and loose with what it means and what it looks like, just adds another level of mockery.

We seem to all agree that same-sex couples have the right to such things as community property, hospital visits, taxation benefits/liabilities across the board.  Nobody seems to say "I don't" to that.

But if you could bear with me -- even when this could be so wrong I don't wanna be right --

But picture this sketch, if you will:

If we simply take the term "marriage" out of the dynamic for all of us -- bowing to the use of the secular phrase of "Civil Unions" -- we can save it. The empowerment of either being "for it" or "against it" is totally taken away.  It can no longer be used as a political ploy and toy.

Marriage should be protected -- at least, in the sense of what is left of it.

Removing the agenda, the activism, the fraud of flip flopping on political whim and fancy, allows Traditional Marriage to be saved overall -- in essence, choosing to lose the battle to win the war (as it's the Good War).

It's the movement, the constant bombardment, of same-sex couples to take something that is simply not genetically possible as their own, and re-defining the sacred, cultural, family structure that begins at a marriage of a man and a woman.  In the process, all civility gets lost in the translation, in the conversation, and we are reduced to in-fighting, forcing a great divide between us.

If the goal is to be ONE people, assimilating, working together, speaking the same language, living under one roof (under God) then we should all accept the fact we are at a crossroads.  And that, sometimes, when in a civil union, it is better to agree to disagree and move on.

I believe it would be overwhelming  healthier, and happier,  to allow marriage to stand alone at the alter, protected under long standing tradition and integrity; and thereby allowing churches and temples to continue honoring the ceremony of marriage as we know it well into the future.  [and yes, I hear you -- there is the principle of it -- there is that -- and again, is this really want we want to spend our time fighting over?]

The future of America does not hang in the balance of making a "politically" "correct" "decision" between gay and. traditional marriage -- no matter how many times we flip on it -- heaven's no.

It's just not worth it.

It diminishes the personal meaning and attachments built over time, as a people, as a community, as brothers and sisters.

The immediate concern upon the horizon shows far greater, and seemingly irreconcilable, issues.  Pending the rise of rather foreign doctrines --  capitalizing on the redistribution of wealth, big government, and growing generations of barbaric, wretchedly dependent populace -- with the sunset of America's ideals of smaller government, free enterprise, and real individual freedoms are at stake.

If you really want a happily ever after, then we must fix these things first and foremost.

But go ahead, President Obama, ring around the rosy away and keep talking in circles; the longer you spin, the greater the chances of you falling down and going boom.  But then, I guess you are counting on a certain voting block to pick you back up. [but who's to say, right, as he is really not changing a thing -- round and round we go, where it stops nobody knows]

Truth is, for the rest of us -- this is just an evolution backwards, to a time and place of where you started sixteen years ago (which is funny -- usually when speaking of an "evolution"  we are normally referring to something moving forward....cue the snarky snare: badump ba)

Dear America,

Judy, Judy, Judy.  You did it to me again.

I slipped into Garland yesterday, wrapping myself in her essence two days in a row; I gotta get a hold of myself.  It's just these days, the news, the record breaking pace we are setting at destroying America -- its taking its toll on my psyche.

You know, Psyche is the young maiden loved by Eros, hooking up with him after Aphrodite's jealousy got the best of her; according to mythological translation, Psyche defines the personification of the soul.  It is actually the center of thought, feeling and behavior -- basically, the body deeper;  it is pure soul or spirit.

And that's the image I want you to have in your mind as we continue with the conversation of the week; that being, being gay in America.

The data available shows that the numbers of gay men and women are somewhere around 8.8 million; approximately 6% of the total population.  However, as with everything else, the numbers have been wrought with controversy.  Some say the accuracy of the true numbers could be as low as 2% and as high as 10%; strangely enough, there has been difficulty in defining what gay is, leaving some to doubt as to how people respond.  I don't know, is there a problem if we hesitate; is there a pink flag raised if 'we thought about it'; does that one night in college count?  All good questions, but not something we're gonna take the time to explore now.

What we are seeing though -- no matter what the actual real number appears to be -- is the number of gay men and women activists taking part of changing legislation, and all that goes along with promoting their agenda, rising; hence, why the perception as portrayed by the MSM,  of the gay & lesbian coalitions are slightly askew; remember squeaky wheel gets the grease.

That's not G knocking it and being petty -- you know, about MSM being their megaphone -- but it is just a little something I'd like to point out as it is important we see it for what it really is (a propaganda machine!)  Enough said, nevertheless fact checks are necessary for the sake of having a real conversation about what it is they want and need and should get and why.

I wonder if Psyche and Eros ever got married -- or if their love just transcended all physical dimension or emotional conventions or societal traditions?  Did it really matter?

My papa wrote me a letter the day I was born.  Being in the Navy that was as good as it was gonna get for him as he was somewhere out in the Pacific Ocean at the time -- as he notes "as a project for your Uncle Sam -- you'll get to know him someday -- we all do -- especially at tax time." (How prophetic is that...you didn't see this coming, now did you?)

He goes on to say many things, and even though I didn't get his approval to quote him I'm gonna do it anyway, the little rebel that I am.  One of my favorite moments is this...
"You have just been born into a very loving type family and often times romantic too.  Mother and I have been romancing for some five years now and formalized it a little over two years ago by getting married. It's more convenient to be married before having children as you'll learn to appreciate but I can't swear that it is necessary."
I love that.

Now, my father is a man who chooses his words carefully; so I find it funny how in that moment --even if it was only for a split second -- he stopped to question if the certificate of marriage was necessary to proclaim his love for my mama -- what is it really but just a piece of paper.  Ah yes, for it is truly that which is found in our heart, what is deep in our soul, that can best describe and document the feelings we hold so dear for someone we love...After fifty years of marriage, the symbolism and expression of that little piece of paper means a whole lot more, I can assure you.

Did you know that even in spite of a higher divorce rate, one in five of first marriages lasts 50 years; and when the average marriage used to last only about 28 years due to mortality rates, now they average 43 years.

And yet by today's standards, we discover how easily that paper can be ripped into shreds (guilty).

I can understand the desire to unite in marriage with the one you love; how it can be a feeling just as great and just as magnificent for gays & lesbians as it is for me.  I get that.

When California had, albeit for a short time, the marriage act for same-sex couples; couples flooded to the court houses overnight -- taking shot gun weddings to a whole 'nother level.  They must have had some kind of mother-of-the-bride intuition going on, as the option didn't last long for same-sex marriages before the privilege was taken away (the people just took back what the liberal California court unilaterally had taken away, minor detail).

Having said that, the very first thing California changed-- was the license.

You know what they did?  Well, I'm gonna tell you.
They changed the license to read "Partner A and Partner B".
Husband and Wife, poof, gone.  Left in the dust.  Just like that. Done.

You know, G didn't like that much.

How about this, how about we give all rights to dictating marriage legislation come from those who actually believe in it, and I'm talking about the one in five people who have been actually married 50 years.

Now in Canada-- yes, I had to peruse a blog on this very subject from Canada -- all in the name of research you know -- what I found was fascinating, as they are a little ahead of us you know (kind of like health care).

In Canada, they started to allow "common law" marriage to homosexuals in 1999; and then actually legalized marriage in 2005.  Since legalization, there are roughly now 45,000 homosexual "pairings" and of that about 16%, or 7,400, are actually married; but of the total married couples in Canada, they represent about .6% -- that is point six percent

Matter of fact, overall marriage numbers are declining in Canada ever since declaring "common law" marriage...you know, like why bother go through all the trouble, why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free...and now married couples in Canada account for only about 68 % of total "pairings".  I, myself, am wondering if stress is taking its toll?  I'm sensing perhaps a few health care costs causing marital friction?  You know, it always gets down to money, or trivial issues like life and death (hey, don't sweat the small stuff, Canada).

Here in America, the Defense of the Marriage Act was overwhelmingly passed on September 21, 1996; signed into law, again by yours truly, President Clinton.  It declares under the Federal Government, a marriage is between one man and one woman; also noting that States (and any other political body of Government or institution) do not have to recognize same-sex unions, even if considered to be a marriage in another state.

Obama does not support same-sex marriage -- an admission on more than one occasion -- and believes a marriage is between a man and a woman too, citing his Christian beliefs.  However, as he told the Human Rights Campaign on Sunday, "do not doubt the direction WE are heading and the destination WE will reach...I'm here with a simple message: I'm here with you in that fight."

It is also interesting, when Joe Solmenese, President of the HRC, was asked about his relationship with the White House he said this, "[the administration] has been working with the group on a range of issues 'on an almost weekly and sometimes daily basis."  Must be why the administration has had a hard time finding time for meetings with McCrystal.

Speaking of which, moving on with more numbers with a look back to our chat yesterday about "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" (DADT), what we are looking at is this:  About 36,000 active duty military men & women are homosexual, or about 2.5%.  And of all the women who join, those who consider themselves to be Lesbian outnumber the heterosexual women. Still, two point five percent, people.

So
of all the issues
within the military going on...
two wars,
a feud between the Commander in Chief and the General, the cost of preparedness, the cost of lives,
military personnel on use for private business for the President and his lovely wife, flyby's in New York for pictures,
moral concerns, suicides, comforting families who have lost a child,
keeping operations in umpteen countries,
swooping in on a moments notice to save lives from natural disasters around the world...

I don't know, what am I missing, I know its something...right, thank you,

possible wars pending between Iran and Israel, or Iran and anybody else they don't like within firing range,
Russia on notice,
North Korea acting out...

that should do it...no... wait for it...
the Al Qaeda and Taliban taking over the world
and suicide bombers using the world like pinball machines,
women and children being raped, mutilated, killed, or treated like 2nd class citizens by the thousands in most every part of this world, every day...
alright, that should do it.
Let's continue:

You, the Human Rights Campaign -- You, Gays & Lesbians united by name, any name, just pick one -- want to force feed your selfish personal agenda upon a traditional, conventional organization like the military over and above all other present day concerns and orders in place -- as mentioned above -- because of what?  why?

Don't you all see -- all 2.5% of you -- how misguided and narcissistic that is?  The world is falling apart all around us and you, in utter ignorance, place your issues on a pedestal, with a tiara no doubt, to be recognized solely on the merits of sexual preference? May I remind you, you are soldiers?

Why is it always about you?

I'm sorry, does that come before or after the pursuit of a purple heart?

Enough with this need for attention. Enough already.  You know for such a small piece of the American pie, you certainly use a lion's share of the reddi-whip.

As representative by the numbers in Canada, the marriage certificate really isn't all that important to most of you; while in America,  it becomes kindling for the Supreme Court and legislative ambushes.

And as representative by the number in the military, DADT is a cosmetic change; and one that may never be a priority over the concerns of a nation, and perhaps an entire world.

And believe you me, this has nothing to do with lack of tolerance or compassion; it has everything to do with the fallacy in a belief system hell bent on diminishing what America values and what America stands for.  Why does America have to extinguish her traditions, holidays, the sanctity of marriage, military protocol, education of our children, our faith in God,  continuously for the rise of liberalism to take its place?

You have no idea what you do; talk about intolerance.  Where is the ability to live peacefully, along side conservatives, patriots, no matter what party, with respect to maintaining a life solely under the protection of our Constitution and limited Government for all upon all fronts?

To wind things down here today,
Isn't it such that if we are really being true to our own heart, doing what we love and loving what we do, nothing else really matters; it doesn't matter what it looks like, or who notices us, if through a certificate or military orders, whether in front of thousands or just the one we love -- the purity of the thought back behind the action is the only thing that's real; recognizing that it is the feeling, the empowerment, the joy, the life force inside us that becomes the only thing we truly    ever      really     need.

Yes. Have a union or better yet, come up with your own name -- just don't change marriage to Partner A and B; oooh, how about this, since you're so tight with legalese, let's just call your celebrations Partnerships, with or without, the LLC, your choice. That was rude, wasn't it?  It's just that I am so not into you when you change everything like that! Taking something so very traditional in context and significance and turning it into something so very scientific and secular, like we're petri dishes performing an experiment, taking the romance right out of it; put yourself in my shoes, honey, you might like them.

Yes. Join the military.  Be all that you can be, let's just agree to disagree and let the show must go on just the way we've always done it for that last hundreds of thousands of years..The military has been functioning quite well for a long time without full disclosures and confessions. I know how easily it is to gravitate towards being a little chatty kathy, but there is simply no reason we have to talk about everything, girlfriend, you know what I'm sayin'?

There is just so much more to life; and a good life in America must not divide and conquer by agenda.

We must find a way to come together, right now. (Turn it up and watch the video all the way to the end)

Before I say adieu (in salute to Canada's help today) I give you this:
Oh papa, what a warm and wonderful way you welcomed me into this world,
"Please remember as much as you can  as you grow -- it will mean so much to you in the future -- the sounds, the sights, the smells, the feeling, the touch, the taste -- so much will pass before you.  It would take more paper than I can find to write down all the wonderful things that I would like to remember...Well Gretchen, your father is going to have to get some sleep now -- he is going to sea in 9 hours.  Be a good girl and don't fight with your brother too much until I get home to referee...Good Night dear little Gretchen...and give all my love to the rest of the family. I miss you all so much..."

now if you could just be so kind as to point me to the nearest exit?
kid ding, 'cause we're just having too much fun...remember, dad, when 'too much fun' was invented?

ah my, weird sense of humor runs in the family xx  I love you
